Cian Mc Loughlin at Molesworth

Cian Mc Loughlin's exhibition 'Zero Is An Even Number' opened at the Molesworth Gallery, 16 Molesworth Street, Dublin 2 tonight. There was a lively atmosphere. The venue was packed. Cian's artwork comprised oil on canvas paintings and oil on board wall sculptures.

As artist in residence in the Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience, he had created his exhibition to explore how our brains interpret what our eyes see. He had covered his artwork with tiny dots made with laser cut stencils. I particularly enjoyed viewing his yellow painting like Tired of Buttoning and Unbottoning' I - IV. His exhibition will run until 30th Nov 2024.

Mark Francis at the Kerlin

This evening, I attended the opening of Mark Francis' exhibition 'Accustic Oceans' at the Ketlin Gallery, Anne's Lane, South Anne Street, Dublin 2. The venue was packed with a lively atmosphere. There was plenty of chat.

The colours in Mark's paintings shimmered against each other. These compositions were created with vertical narrow stripes in pale and dark colours. I liked his red and black paintings such as 'Subtonic' and 'Dubmagnet'. They appeared, to my eye, extra rich and warm.

Mark's exhibition will run until 24th Aug 2024. It was well worth going.

I saw a shooting star It was like a bird . What would you wish for a shooting star? . Whose wish will the shooting star grant? . That's too fast, no time to wish . But I don't know why, I felt like I flew so close that I could reach it if I stretched out my hand.. . What would you wish for a shooting star? . I can't wish on a shooting star, but, . I felt like I got courage I'm sure that shooting stars is a blue bird flying into someone's heart . . 少し前に見た流れ星は 鳥のようだった . 私だったら どんな願いをしただろうか . 誰の願いをかなえるのだろう 早すぎて 願い事なんて言えないけど . なぜだろう 手を伸ばしたら届きそうなほど 近くを飛んだ気がした . 私だったら 流れ星に願うことは出来ないけど . 勇気を貰えた気がした きっと流れ星は 誰かの心に飛んでいく青い鳥

Japan was in the "Obon" season between August 13th and 15th.  Obon is a Buddhist festival in Japan to honor the spirit of our ancestors.  We welcome back the spirits of the dead during Obon every year.

Gonta、Chibi、welcome back. yes, The second cat, Chibi passed away in April of this year. Chibi's birthday is unknown. I think he lived about four years. For the last two years he fought the HIV. It was a scary illness. I couldn't do anything for him. The fourth picture is my first oil painting. In the sunshine in the garden that Chibi loved.

Chibi, thank you for coming to my house. I miss you. You may have been less happy. but,  please come back anytime. . 日本はお盆でした。ゴンタお帰りそして、、ちびもお帰り。 今年4月、次男猫のちびはＨＩＶで亡くなりました。誕生日は分からないままだったけど、４年ぐらいの生涯。そのうち、２年ぐらいはずっと闘病でした。 病気になってからはすべてがあっという間でした。本当に怖い病気でした。何もできなかったです。 下の絵はちびを描いた、私の初めての油絵です。＾＾ ちびの大好きだった庭の光の中。

ちび、うちに来てくれて有難う。今、あなたが居なくてとても寂しい。 幸せは少なかったかもしれないけれど、いつでも帰っておいで。
