Inktober 2024 Day 19: Ridge

Base Lining & Sketch:

• Pearl, Titled Aeolus, the whimsical Ruler of the Winds: As friendly as she is to visitors, she does have a rather hard time resisting causing some trouble now and then.

• Fwhip, the unpredictable Messenger God of travel, luck, & speed: He's considered unpredictable at best and borderline maniacal at worst. He falls far past the line of a "trouble-maker" but can't help himself in becoming a close companion of Sausage's (at least, as "close" as the Gods can be considered).

• Gemini, the dangerous & protective Goddess & Sorceress: She's shrouded in warnings of her power & her silver-tongue. While stories will call her a "Witch" or "Temptress," she considers herself a guardian who who will do whatever it takes to protect the one's she loves.

Round 2 of the characters complied!

I look forward to fleshing out some of these characters more as they're revealed but, as of now, these are gonna be the concepts for The God.

While it doesn't fully effect how the characters are going to be portrayed, I'm more than open to getting information or stories on the Greek Gods equivalents of these characters.

I'm not fully versed in the stories & representations of the Gods aside from some Google searches now and then. I also love learning mythology and all that comes with it.

I do believe there will be One or two more character posts after this before i start working on penning & story-line art.

Inktober Day 28: Camping

Headcanon of the Day #1 [I'm making it a series]

Jimmy did the braids & buns for Scott, Gem, & Katherine. It's just an odd thing he's good at and his longer-haired allies enjoy the pampering of cute hair styles they get for important events.

And so it begins

Empires smp god au

Pearl Goddess of the harvest and farming her title was literally the farmer pearl and in the past people kept track of harvest by looking at the phases of the moon and positioning of the constellations

Lizzie the trickster goddess of the ocean and government ocean because in season one she was a fish goddess and government because in season two she was a mayor and in both she is a scam artist trying to make a profit through morality ambiguous means

Joel god of thunder and art in canon he is the god of thunder and if anyone in empires was a art god it would be the guy that sculpted clones of himself and built stratos/mezalia

Katherine goddess order and balance and duality she fights evil by transforming from the pretty pink princess to the axe wielding warrior and as lady Katherine of the overgrown she is the one that is neutral the one that Try’s to keep order

Jimmy is The god of death for obvious reasons

Joey is the god of wealth and desire because he is a pirate and pirates like gold also he steals from false and really wants to get in xornoth s pants he also Katherine’s (understandable)

Shubble is the goddess of nature and the wild because her whole wolf thing she had going on in the first season of empires and the infected outlaw thing she had in season 2

Scott god of the passage of time and the four seasons (and rainbows) because he has connections to flowers (spring) in life series and stars in origin smp and winter in empires smp

Pix god of messengers and prophecies( he is in charge of the recaps that gives people information they might have missed also he is a prophet)

Fwhip god of fire and revenge because in both seasons of empires he has had a stubborn heated rivalry with jimmy and did not take the break up well also in art his hair is fire truck red

Gem goddess knowledge and magic because she as the wizard gem she is a powerful magician and because as the princess of dawn she teaches others about the sun god also the wizard gems empire is literally a school

Sausage love and family and lust because he is known for his platonic love (Hermes and Eddie and pearl) and let’s say his passionate spicy love( pole dancing and flirting)

Oli god of music and insanity he is a bard and who’s words make zero sense to everyone and watching him you get sensory overload ( he is the oldest but nobody believes him)

false goddess of mystery and adventure and new beginnings because she is lost her memory and is a very adventurous person also do to the lost memories she basically started from square one when she came to empires

Empires smp god au day and night myth

When People tell the story of day and night they usually either attribute its creation to fwhip god of fire because fire and stars were humanity’s first tools or scott the god of cycles and time who was the one to oversee the project

But in actuality it was pearls idea

As the god of harvest she loved the farmers and the comman men in the fields

And She saw how they spent their days tired and overworked so she went to Scott and proposed an idea 

Day and night a daily cycle that would make it easier to keep track of time

Lizzie was against it because she is the god of government including the problematic aspects and she didn’t like the idea that people would get breaks plus the humans used looked to the tides and floods to tell the time back then 

so she new that if a new more accessible way to tell time was created then she would lose some of her domain

She has a bitterness towards Scott because he was the one that ended up with her telling time aspect 

Lizzie wanted to stop the others from finishing but Katherine who was the goddess of order and duality and balance remembered her her roots as the goddess of peace and equality and she loved the idea

But she but knew lizzie would do everything in her power to stop them 

So she offered her a deal step back and not interfere and in return Katherine would owe her a favor

gods never make that kind of offer if they want to pay someone back they do it right away so lizzie couldn’t pass up the opportunity

Other gods also helped pix ws the god of prophecy stories messages and the written word he created the star signs and the myths

His involvement is why people use star signs and birth months to predict what a baby might be like as they age 

False god of adventure and mystery and the unknown and secrets made darkness

And The twins fwhip and gem made the sun

In the end Lizzie adapted and made it so the tide would move accordingly

she tried to milk the situation for anything else that she could gain

I like to think that the gods are living in modern day but they dress in clothes from their favorite time periods

they have all lived for a very long time and they have seen many fashion trends come and go but even as the time passes and fashion evolves they keep the bits they like while adding details that hint at their domains

Jimmy is a cowboy attending a funeral

oli is a medieval bard that has crazy neon colors the bards of the past didn’t have access to in there time

Joel is a Roman toga but a little modernized and artistic

the most up to date with clothes is probably scott he represents the passing of time so he changes his clothes more frequently but not to keep up with

False changes often as well but not to keep up with the trend but instead as the goddess of adventure she loves to try new things and takes inspiration from many different periods she never dresses the same twice but even then she is very practical and casual only choosing to wear clothes she can move around in

Most of them choose a style and stick to it for decades until something new catches their interest

Scott who’s is intertwined within the passing of time changes so his clothes more frequently but not as much as false

pix has the oldest style that doesn’t require him to show a lot of skin probably from Babylon or something really old

so they are very mismatched and look as if they were plucked out wildly different time periods

Gemcyt au that stars the cod alliance from season one empire’s and where most of the other characters where crystal gems that fought in the gem war

Grian was the leader of the rebellion that worked together with Lizzie a diamond in disguise to fake her shattering and just like in cannon the diamonds retaliated by the corrupting all the gems still on the planet 

Lizzie used her weapon to block the blast and like rose she was able to grab two others before it hit

Joel who never left her side and jimmy who stayed close to joel 

the story takes place 5,300 years after the war and starts when a modern human historian named pix befriends the survivors 

lizzie a pink diamond disguised as a rose quartz that is a scammer and is the one that makes their fake ids and legal papers 

joel a green off color pearl that was originally quiet but over the years became more outspoken and confident 

and jimmy a defective clumsy lapis that loves human board games and organic animals 

Pix questions them about the gem artifacts and ruins he has been studying and as they get more comfortable around him they start info dumping about the caste system and the war

It steadily gets more and more personal until it gets to the point where he becomes their unofficial therapist 

Then the home world gems start coming to earth again and pix becomes a diplomat that ends up using Lizzies status as a diamond to defeat the other diamonds by talking to them like Steven did in Steven universe 

this au is heavy inspired by @playername-player-of-games and @marblegroves

In the gemcyt au pixlriffs is a human historian that finds and documents abandoned gem structures

I made this for a bit of fun but like.

The desert is a harsh place, Pixl is going out there with no armour. It’s basically a death sentence. Pixl is smart though, with every part of himself the desert takes, he creates a new one. When his exile ends, when he is called back the other empires find Pixl isn’t as human as he was before.

So, I watched all of Pixl’s empires series in two days and I gotta say I love the vibes. So here is a design for the Copper King :)

All Reigns Come To An End

It's over now.

Joey disappeared into the sunset. The sea churning below, wind in his hair. The rhythmic action of rowing the boat calmed him. No matter what, the sea would always call to him like the sirens that lived in its majestic waters. He was glad to not be alone. With others by his side, traversing the sea was even better.

Joel had ascended. He'd always known Jimmy was a toy; that reassurance wasn't exactly needed, but was satisfying. And even if Hermes...didn't seem to like him, at least his son was grown up now. And everyone left him. So he made his goodbyes and joined the other Lore Gods.

Scott and Owen were adventuring together. Scott delighted in the thrill of the risk; the dangers that came with raiding tombs and collecting things. Even if that skull came to mind, Owen was always there to comfort him. He was rarely afforded privacy with Owen, but he didn't mind. They both did things for Chromia, even though Scott definitely did more. Adventure called to them both, and they were kindred spirits bonded together with it.

Shelby eventually chose her track of magic. Lightning coursed through her veins, and the storms bent to her will. She grinned as the rain poured outside her home. That date with Katherine had been wonderful. Perhaps she could go on one with her later. But that letter in her letterbox wouldn't read itself.

Katherine's curse was gone now. Even though her parents weren't too keen on her monster-hunting, the monsters would always exist. Who else would get rid of them? She delighted in protecting her kingdom. And visiting Shelby didn't sound too bad. She did promise a date after all.

FWhip smiled as the racket of the tavern filled his ears. Downing another goblet of mead, he wiped his mouth with his hand and joined the drunkards in their joyful melody. Ecstasy rode through his veins and he did nothing to stop it. Surrounded by friends, he eased into his own comfort.

Pix was satisfied. He'd done everything he'd wanted. Pride flowed through him as he looked upon everything he had accomplished and he couldn't resist the relieved grin that curled at his lips.

Jimmy protected Tumble Town as best he could. The Old Sheriff was brilliant to be around, if not a little odd from time to time. He was content. Sure, there'd be bandits one way or another. The law would always need upholding. But for now? Rest sounded good. And being with the Old Sheriff? Seemed like a nice ending to him.

Oli's Olipeligo was beautiful. His own refuge. His home. Old memories of old faces still popped in from time to time, but he didn't need them. Memories of the Orb, of vampires and angels, of thornlings and dragons, had all but gone now. Replaced by collectors and princesses, by sheriffs and gods and goblins.

Everyone's reign was over. Would new ones begin, or were the history books finally complete?

For now, their reigns had come to an end.

It was over now.

Murder Mystery AU?

Since Pix withered away and lost the crown, I had this AU forming in my head. I wanted to get it out here, and I'm working on a fanfic of this AU for myself. I might post some chapters, but I might just leave it as this.

Suspects: Scott, Katherine, Sausage, Shelbie, Joel

Detectives: Jimmy, fWhip

Victim(s): Pix, maybe Joey and Lizzy

Side characters: Oli, Gem, False

Pix would get murdered either at his museum, or at the tea party Katherine held. Jimmy would arrive a couple hours later, and the investigation would begin. Scott would be interviewed first seeing as he just acquired the crown Pix had before. Katherine hosted the event, so she'd be second on the list. Sausage handed out drinks, so if the cause was linked to poison then Sausage would also be interviewed. Shelbie would've been seen acting off after the death, which would make her a mild suspect. And Joel would be interviewed by fWhip because Joel would mock Jimmy to death before spilling any important info.

Joey or Lizzy could die next, Lizzy as a means of hurting Joel, and Joey as a means of directing the murderer to Shelbie or Katherine.

Oli would try to calm the group down, and would offer some help to Jimmy and fWhip, but ultimately wouldn't help much. However, he would still be useful as he'd be the one to potentially intervene during a heated argument between the cast.

False would provide some insight into Pix just...as a character, and try to provide motives for the others. She'd mostly try and stay out of the whole thing, but would pitch in when called upon.

Gem would give a detailed account of the night and be a useful witness, because I think she'd be observant enough to notice some small details prior to Pix dying.

That's it! It's not a ton of stuff, but I still think it's pretty fun.

Gold Is Appealing

The crown weighs heavy upon its wearer's brow. Each passing day makes the crown grow heavier, and the wearer grows wearier with each day. Some say that a curse had been placed upon this crown during the first brawl to take place over its ownership. That, in the bloodshed of the rulers, the crown had been cursed to bring death and misfortune in its wake, and that any who wear it face cruel and startling punishments. For some, this means betrayal from one whom they'd loved, being poisoned in their own domain. For others, the crown brought magical powers beyond their own control, causing a harsh and gruelling winter to befall their lands.

It is needless to say that the crown had been swamped with misery and famine since the first few days of its creation. And that it had been buried long ago for good measure.

Pix had failed to read that in his books. But to be fair, there hadn't been many accounts detailing this crown, and those that did contain information were...vague, at best. So he'd seen no issue with donning the crown and wearing it with pride. He'd made his rule, as the books had mentioned within his newfound capabilities, and for the short time of having it, Pix had almost enjoyed it. Not the power itself, no. In other circumstances Pix wouldn't dare do such a thing. But in the name of history, he simply had to, if only to keeep the crown's rich tradition alive.

Perhaps it had been this that caused his untimely demise.

During that tea party at Glimmergrove, Pix hadn't initially thought much when he started withering. He'd assumed that Katherine had found him. After all, he had seen that Katherine did kill those that she managed to find. All in good sport, of course. The respawn ability every ruler shared was used not in life-or-death situations, but mostly as a measure of strength; a way to test how long one may survive against a terrible foe, or when they're on the brink of death from poisoning.

But when he did die, he came back...different. A ghost. A spectral figure that startled the other rulers upon seeing him. Pix had, quite literally, become as dead as history. He'd merged with it. Was that meant to be his fate all along? Condemned to live as a ghost after a light-hearted discovery and some innocent tradition-upkeeping? That didn't seem fair to him.

Scott had the crown now. At first he hadn't meant to acquire it. He'd simply stood nearby and accidentally retrieved the fallen things of the late Pix. And that meant he had to put out his own decree for the other rulers to follow. There wasn't anything he really wanted. Scott was a collector at heart; an adventurer. He'd spent a large part of his life travelling, permanently borrowing artefacts and living freely. It hadn't really been his intention to become King of Chromia, but he took it in his stride. In fact, he had been planning to continue his streak of permanently borrowing other people's possessions. So for now, he administered a simple task: build a statue, building or other form of structure for Chromia. He'd laid out the borders, and left it at that.

But upon his return home, he'd encountered a most peculiar note left for him. It requested that he create a Brown Mooshroom and take it to a place called the Hollow. Scott knew something bad or risky when he saw it. And this note definitely had sinister connotations. Would this lead to his death the same way Pix had perished? There was no real way to tell for sure.

The crown was laced in malice. None would know this. Perhaps a demon from the days of the past had cursed it. A demon that had cursed it as a last resort in case he was sentenced to death.

Who knows? All we know for sure was one thing.

That gold, the very gold within the crown, was appealing to all rulers.

I adore how the fandom seems to agree that Pixandria was unaffected by the explosion and chaos of the finales.

And I’d like to add some things

For the rulers who remain alive, but have left. The tiny trails of smoke their candles produce will forever travel in the direction of the soul they represent.

But for the ones who have died, and this time will not return through the normal means, the candles no longer light when Pix sparks his flint and steel.

The ocean queen’s flames are dimmer now, as though her spirit remains but has gone through a magical change.

Unless taken into the nether, the candles for the Wolf Spirit point towards the nearest portal.

Pix smiles when Gem and Fwhip’s candles cause two lines of smoke to combine together, proving they’re staying by each other’s side.

Pix struggles to learn of what happened exactly to the ones who didn’t make it, or where exactly the wanderers will end up before they settle down again, or if the next time their candles stop pointing in a new direction they will simply be blown out by fate.

He’ll pack away the lightless candles, storing with them books of what they had accomplished in life, and he’ll track the paths of the remaining ones as far as the maps brought to his kingdom will allow.

But he’ll remember all of them for as long as he lives, because he’s capable of doing so when no one else is.

Here is my piece to commemorate the Empires finale! I’ve had this idea bouncing around in my head for ages and I’m excited to finally show you 😄 I loved all of season one, so hype to see what the next has in store! I can’t wait to get painting 💪🏼✨

It’s been a few months since Empires s2 came to an end and I wanted to make a piece reflecting on the time we spent with these characters 🥰✨ When season 1 ended I did a series of paintings set to the End Poem, and so I decided to revisit the concept once again, making sure to switch up which line corresponded to which person. This series means a lot to me—in fact, this is one of two big Empires s2 projects I’ve been working on! There’s another one still in the works :D
