as sirius black was running on the stairs, the only thing he could hear were the dark thoughts hitting his head. he stopped in front of the door and started searching in his pocket, he reached the keys and opened the door. to make sure there was no one after him, he looked around and closed it, knowing he was safe. sirius looked over his shoulder to see remus stand in front of him, looking south.

"sirius" he said.

"oh, hi remus. i didn't expect you to come home earlier" sirius replied, with an awkward smile on his face.

"i thought work was over an hour ago" remus cocked an eyebrow. "where were you?"

"we had more customers today" sirius sighed. "please don't think i'm doing anything else"

remus walked to the kitchen, got the whiskey bottle and poured it in his glass. he came back to sirius as he slowly took a sip.

"i don't know what to believe, sirius. i don't think peter would do such a thing, nor anyone else."

"so you just come up with the idea that i would betray james and lily? i would rather kill myself than betray anyone, especially them! remus, believe me." sirius said.

"sirius, you're the first one i would think would do this. you know who you are! you're a fucking black! they're fucking heartless! i wouldn't expect you to fake it all just to vanish us all! beginning with the potters!" remus exclaimed. "that's what you want to do, stop lying! you're just like them!"

"i would never! i would never do that kind of thing! remus, i'm not like them! i tried my best to be who i want and not who i should be just for you to accuse me! i start to think you're actually on peter's side, and you blame me just to get out of all the shit he made!" sirius shouted.

"you can't do anything now black, it's too late. you'll be where you belong soon. i hope it will make the worst of you. think about all the rubbish you created" remus hissed and left the room, letting the other alone with broken hope and a broken heart.

it's too late, sirius.

"sirius orion black, how dare you! how dare you disrespect me and how dare you screw our reputation up! you should be ashamed of yourself!" walburga shouted in the black's dining room, making the glasses on the table shake. "get out of my sight!"

sirius got up of his chair quickly and ran to his room, thoughts coming up in his head.

when they closed their eyes and prayed you would change

walburga sat on her chair, reached her glass full of wine, took a sip and looked out the window, the moon reflecting itself in her eyes, glistering in tears.

"what did i do wrong" she whispered under her breath. "didn't i raise him right? didn't i raise him to be the heir we all want him to be? am i a bad mother?"

and they cut your hair and sent you away

"where are you going?" regulus asked his older brother, leaning against the door frame.

"away from you all. i'm done" sirius answered." you can come too."

"no..i can't" the other one replied.

sirius sighed. "i'm sorry it has to be like this. well...take care." he finished, putting the last things in his chest and walked downstairs.

"sirius black, where are you going?" walburga asked, getting up from the chair.

"away. and i'm not coming back" he said coldly and left the house.

"sirius...!" walburga shouted. "sirius orion black!"

"sirius?" james gasped. "what happened?"

"i-i don't think it's time to explain" sirius replied, panting.

"why am i standing here like this? come in!"

with tears in my eyes i begged you to stay

"i shouldn't come here, i'm sorry" sirius sighed. "i'll just pack my things and search for a place"

"no" james responded. "stay here! you're welcomed!"

"james, you're amazing, but i can't take it. i'm not worthy of staying here, and i'm just a burden."

"no you're not!" james replied. "stay! please!"

you said "hey man, i love you"

"no" sirius finished and exited the room.

"no! wait! sirius!"

"no, james. i shouldn't have been welcomed here. i'll just look for a place to go. sorry"

"sirius!" james shouted after him, with hope that he'll come back.

as he saw sirius walking off, james could only hear the word "sorry" in his head.

note: this is the first time i'm writing something in a long time and it may be BAD (by the way, i'm gonna use the xe pronoun on sirius)

29th of October, 1981

The only thing sirius was thinking about was the suspicion xe had about peter. and xe couldn't deny, peter was acting weirder than ever, and sirius knew that the idea of peter being the secret keeper was a horrible idea. maybe the worst idea xe had in a long, long time. sirius even talked about it to james, and xe thought james wouldn't believe it, but for xyr happines, james told xem that he was going to think about it. sirius slowly put xyr glass of wine on the small, black table and got off the chair xe were sitting on and walked up to the potter's living room, where peter was.

"peter" sirius said quietly, so only peter could hear xem.

"sirius?" peter jumped off the couch he was sitting on. " i mean...yes? what is it?"

peter slowly started sweating, having the idea that sirius would want to talk about the things xe had in mind. he raised his head up to sirius to see xem look at him with a suspicious, but disappointed face.

"what did you do again?" sirius asked peter, trying to remain calm, though xe could explode any second.

"i...have no idea what you are talking about..." peter said, trying to keep a weird, fake smile on his face, while sweat kept running on his face.

"you told voldemort everything you could, didn't you? he knows everything about them." sirius looked down at peter, keeping the disappointed mask on.

"i..why would i, sirius? james and lily are my friends, i would never betray them!" peter exclaimed.

peter knew that was a lie, he did betray them. he betrayed them for power. for more power than he was already given. and sirius knew that too.

sirius let out a small, quiet sigh and walked up to the room xe went out of before, and sat back at the table, trying not to let a single tear come down. xe knew that was the end, at least for james and lily.

Don’t get me wrong, I love how the fandom has decided that (due to the movies) that Sirius is smaller than Remus.

But in the books it is stated that Sirius was the tallest marauder. So just picture this…

Tall Sirius not being scared of Remus. He’s like “werewolf? I can’t see one”, as he peers over Remus’ head.

Tall sirius picking Remus up after moons and carrying him back to the dorm.

Just tall Sirius guys. It would be great to see more content of him being tall and smug as shit about it.

So at what point in writing your book do you admit that you realized halfway through the outlining process-

Justifying the marauders being bullies is not only shitty and biased on the marauders fans part, but also contradictory to the Harry Potter franchise. I find it so funny seeing fans attempt to justify them as if their entire story isnt supposed to be a plot device for Harry, as if the bullying isn't supposed to shatter all of Harry's superficial views on his parents, and make him realize how truly shitty they had been. Or more specifically, how shitty James had been.

The entire premise is supposed to be about Harry. Harry's realization, Harry coming to terms with reality. So you denying that the marauders were bullies is denying Harry's arc, its denying a whole plot point in the books. Regardless if you like Snape or not, one fact is clear, the marauders were bullies, they were all shitty people, Sirius' selfishness, Remus being the definition of a deadbeat, Peter being well, Peter. And James being the bully and bigot that he were, alongside the other marauders aswell.

Also its fine to enjoy the fanon versions, i do aswell. But its also important to acknowledge that they were shitty people and we shouldn't condemn them. Especially if you're talking about the bullying, because attempting to diminish someone's harassment is really low considering these are all fictional characters, whilst bullying is a real active issue.

Sirius, in cannon, is a 6'5 giant who would make fun of the most popular fannon version of him out there. He's not mature enough by fifth year, in the sense that he's a prankster, and doesn't often take other people into consideration. He would do the prank regardless. In this case, the moonwater scenario, whether he acknowledged it or not, deep down, he wanted to get back at Remus for being with Regulus.

Both the Black Brothers definitely make mistakes. We all do. They hold things over each other all the time. They're brothers, their allowed to hold grudges against each other. Also, I meant the rest of his life bit as more of an exaggeration. Obviously, after a while, it's not going to be brought up that often, if at all. Some people need reminders to help them, I mean, growing up in their household, they would learn by being reminded constantly of what not to be. Constantly reminding Sirius could be Regulus' gut instinct on how to stop a repeat, whether it will help Sirius or not.

Also, any ship with Regulus that isn't like Barty or Evan or both or someone in Slytherin is probably going to have Regulus as not a blood supremacist. But it is a huge part of his character. In the end, though, he does change his way of thinking, trying to destroy a horcrux and everything. (I haven't read all the books, so I could be completely wrong on why he went horcrux hunting.) You can just push back when he changes his thinking and change how he does it.

In the end, this, the entire Marauders fandom pretty much, is fannon. Most shippers of queer relationships and mulltishippers exist because of the fanbase and the fact that you can mix and match and change shit up.

I see moonwater as more of a library get-together thing, where Sirius was probably just talking, and he brought Regulus up, and he has a lot to say on the topic. Remus, hearing how much the brothers' relationship is going downhill, he wants to try and fix it because growing up, he never had that sort of connection or any at all really and didn't want them to loose theirs. Also, thinking about it, no one, unless they asked Remus directly (which they probably wouldn't due to his scars), would know if he was a pureblood or not.

Lupin is a pureblood name, and I don't really see Lyall as the type to shout it from the rooftops that he's married to a muggle. He also hid their family away from the world (probably) when Remus was turned. So, no one really knew he existed until Hogwarts.

So Regulus, with a strained relationship with his brother, probably didn't even know that Remus was a half blood. He just saw one of his brother's Gryffindor friends trying to make friends with him in the library. It was a relationship built over a good couple years of studying and careful suggestions and correcting that by the time he found out that Remus wasn't a pureblood, Regulus didn't really have any opinion on it at all.

This confused Regulus a lot and had a mini mid-life crisis where he had to re-evaluate everything he thought he knew and the fact he still wanted to date Remus and that he wasn't repulsed by the fact.

Ultimately, with Remus pushing the brothers, they start to figure their shit out properly and start talking again.

Sorry if this all came out sounding passive aggressive that was definitely not my intention. I just got passionate about it 😅

Hy heart that is obsessed with fluff would say the first option, but my gut reaction is that it's both.

Because of the abuse his family had put him under, he wasn't exactly taught how to regulate he emotions. His friends helped with this, but every now and then, he just snaps. At face value, I see Sirius as an attention seeker, most of the time at least. Seeing that one of his first ever friend's attention wasn't souly focused on him and their little group, he became impulsive and did the first thing that came to mind. Unintentionally hurting everyone in the process and losing all his friends for a while.

It takes Sirius about a week to really wrap his head around what he did, with getting yelled at by nearly everyone in their friend circle, before it really hit him that he fucked up. Like he knew he had fucked up before then, but he was clinging to a reality that everything was fine.

He would be consumed with guilt and find himself having a midnight game of chess with Remus a few days later. Where they talk till dawn about everything, and Remus managed to really dig it all up and help Sirius to start to sort out his issues. He's by no means fixed. Their relationships aren't going to be what they were overnight, but it's a start.

A start that is filled with so much regret and guilt and Sirius swearing he will make it up to Remus until the day he dies, but it's a start because five years of memories doesn't go away overnight either.

Idk if this has been round tumblr yet, but how do we think Regulus would react to finding out about the "prank" that Sirius pulled on Remus in fifth year.

Remus is going to Regulus as soon as he can walk again, sobbing the hardest he ever has, inconsolable really. He has to get talked down from multiple panic attacks before he can even get a rough explanation out of what James had told him had happened, who at the time was shaking so badly from poorly concealed rage at Sirius.

But Sirius better count his days. If he isn't already disowned by now, he will be shortly because Regulus will stop at nothing to make his life a living hell until Remus and Sirius have made up on their own terms. He is beyond livid and manages to turn most of the school against Sirius when they don't even know what happened (like Harry's 4th year but worse)

I don't know, but when Walburga finds out that Regulus is queer she's livid, but doesn't disown him thinking she can get him to settle with a nice pureblood girl and start working on some heirs.

When Walburga finds out that Regulus is dating a half blood, half breed, she's livid but doesn't disown Regulus because she brought the Black family heirs into this world and Merlin help her someone was going to continue it.

Already knowing that Sirius is a lost cause, she clings onto the fact that she's certain she can get Regulus away from the disgusting half blood. And makes anyone who will listen aware of just what she thought, all their pureist relatives agree readily with her.

Walburga hates Remus with a passion. She hasn't been this passionate about something in a long while. Walburga hasn't even met Remus, probably never will, but she hates him for the fact he is steering Regulus away from the goal at hand. A pure wizarding society.

She was going to kill Remus. If that's what it took to have her grip on Regulus once more, she would do it without a second thought. And she was going to do it too, almost had even, but then word got out that they were expecting child.

She was livid and, for the first time, unsure what to do to get her own way. She hated Remus but became a little bit more tolerant of him, though you'd never be able to tell because she still spoke the same ill of him, but that was a Black heir he was going to be producing, so she was conflicted.

It took Walburga a while but decided she couldn't have a person of Remus' status tainting the bloodline. So him and their now 4 children would have to go, Regulus could always rebuild his family with a pureblood woman.
