System Positivity - Blog Posts

[hey! here's an sa/sexual harassment warning for the tags of my reblog! abide by it!]

being a system has let me be less lonely, more curious, and more informed. i've seen so many terms and flags and even medical labels that i wouldn't have known otherwise. and these parts of mine, regardless of how much they front, let me know — consciously or not — that i will never truly be alone. and my system formed partially from my own loneliness in this world and at the time of it forming. but now, i don't have to worry so much. somewhere, someone will always have my back.

or.. my brain, i guess.

Tell us something positive about your system/alters/headmates/plurality:

We'll go first. If it wasn't for our system and the ability to relieve each other from fronting there's no fucking way we'd be half as functional as we currently are with the excruciating level of pain we're in. So god damn thankful I don't have to do this bullshit alone.

woaaah we hadn't heard of these terms yet. that's really useful.

thinking, we do feel kinda cephaconscious actually, it's sometimes hard to tell who's fronting and it took us forever to develop the inner tools to figure out who's who and who said what

Here's to cephaconscious systems!

Usually, systems fall under monoconscious (having one collective consciousness), or polyconscious (each headmate having their own consciousness). However, this isn't always the case!

Cephaconscious is defined as a system that has "fluid, monoconscious-like switching, but members of the system who are not in front have their own, separate consciousness in headspace/are polyconscious in headspace" [via Pluralpedia].

Shoutout to cephaconscious systems who:

Have a hard time telling who's fronting due to the way they switch

Blur more frequently than other systems

Have difficulties accessing headspace, or needing lots of effort to go to the innerworld

Feel like they "become" the person they're switching with

And any other cephaconscious experience I may have missed!

Having an uncommon consciousness type is super cool! You're so, so loved and unique! The plural community supports you, always!

Don't forget to be yourself today!

🖤💜💙💚💛

ill answer this one for our collective ...... our stress, exhaustion, and pain has decreased drastically due to our system. we're all here for each other, both on our good, and our bad days. we're here to listen to each other when no one outside will, and we are here to spread positivity and love throughout our system and take the brunt of the blow for each other so we can keep on going. we do playfully banter a TON, but in all seriousness, we genuinely all keep each other alive.

Here’s some positivity for small systems!

Multiplicity encompasses systems of all shapes and sizes. As long as you experience (or have experienced) more than one entity sharing a mind and body, you’re welcome to call yourself plural! This post is for all the small systems out there!

🌷 Shoutout to systems who are dyads or triads!

🌱 Shoutout to systems who feel unseen or unwelcome in system spaces due to their small size!

🌻 Shoutout to systems who struggle to relate to and connect with larger systems!

☘️ Shoutout to systems who used to be large, but are now small due to fusion, dormancy, or something else!

🌺 Shoutout to systems who aren’t sure whether their system’s size would be considered small or not!

🍃 Shoutout to systems who have been fakeclaimed or harassed due to their system’s small size!

Even if your system is very small, you’re still a vital and important part of the plural community! Regardless of your system’s size, please know that you will always be welcome in our spaces. Your system is lovely and wonderful just the way it is! There is no minimum number of headmates a system must have in order to be valid.

We care about y’all, we believe in you, and we’re rooting for you! No matter how large or small your system is, you matter, your headmates matter, and you belong in this community!
