I've been kind of obsessed with them since I watched the last season. I think Soren needed to be comforted by Corvus... They never really talked about what happened and it didn't sit well with me, so I drew this.

Sooooo apparently people are asking if the main characters’ kids will be in arc 3.

In my opinion I don’t think they will and plus I don’t think that it would be the best idea either.

I just think that the plot would be useless especially because the next time we’ll see the main cast is in 7 years. It would completely go over the whole importance of aaravos’ come back. Maybe even farther into the future we’ll get to see their kids but I don’t think it’s very likely.

Plus, it’ll throw the main cast over to the side to basically be pointless. And I think that the writing won’t be so complex and intriguing so most of the time it’ll be boring.

I want to hear what you think buttt that’s kinda it for me (also sorry it was written very badly ToT)

I cant stop thinking abt Ethari singing that lullaby Rayla sings in s6

One thing abt this ship and the moon fam that absolutely kills me is how Ethari always knew what he was getting himself into. He knew when he married runaan that he might send off his husband for the last time. He probably knew when they started dating. And that never stops him from loving Runaan with reckless abandon.

Ok I talked abt this a lil before in another post but THE RUTHARI DESIGN LANGUAGE

Ethari outwardly has changed, but that design reflects more of his grief, the passage of time, and his inability to let go of his husband. It’s also all external—his hair is longer, his Moonshadow markings are now asymmetric/unbalanced, his earrings are gay as hell and really show how he is not over his marriage at all. Most importantly, his armor/shoulder things. He looks prickly, closed off, and that’s exactly how he acts when he thinks runaan is a stranger, which is very un-Ethari.

On the other end, Runaan’s design is hugely the same as season one, with the only two changes being A) his weird ass cutout sleeve is missing on his right, and B) his horn. Unlike Ethari, runaan’s biggest character design change is losing a part of his actual body. Hair can grow, clothes can change, but Runaan’s horn is part of him. His being has been fundamentally altered in a small way, and he’s going to carry that change for ever. Both figuratively, with how he’s seen the true outcome of his assassin work, and literally.

Ethari has a design that communicates his relationship with runaan, he always has. In bloodmoon huntress, runaan calls Ethari his guiding light, but in reality I think it’s the other way around. Because Ethari is the most out of character without runaan. He ghosts Rayla out of grief, which is very out of character, because runaan is gone. But after two years, runaan still comes home to an Ethari who is grieving and hopeless, but not broken.

And after they reunite, Ethari returns to the same state we’ve seen him in for pretty much the entire show. And I get why. He’s a minor character, the plot doesn’t need him to have a paradigm shift like runaan, but I like to read into it as Ethari being the moonfam anchor. He’s the home they all come back to, he’s the warm hug they all need, he’s soft and he’s kind and he’s defined by his love for them. So when he loses his family, he loses himself. He’s and anchor with no ship. Runaan is his heart, without runaan, there is no point for there to be an Ethari, and it makes him lash out and ghost Rayla.

So. Here’s why I’m thinking about all this: Ethari making Runaan a prosthetic horn. Ethari, runaan’s anchor, helping him reforge this part of himself and shine truth onto the great lie of assassin-hood that runaan held so close to his persona. Runaan choosing to replace his belief in precision violence with his belief in love. Most importantly to me, Ethari confronting the lie he helped reinforce for runaan. Ethari seeing that he’s been making weapons to fuel the cycle of violence that in turn took his entire family and his heart from him. And Ethari and runaan deciding to help build the new world, Everkynd, where the lie and the cycle don’t have to dictate their lives.

Something about runaan saying “I am alive” to Ethari and how much that means

First doodle from after season 7 that I didn’t post. I love Ethari so much, I have for the last five years, which is CRAZY to think about because he and runaan basically shaped my art style into what it is today.

Over those five years I build and re-built the reunion in my head, knowing that I could be getting my hopes up for nothing. tdp is a complex show with a tight time budget. Things have to be cut, and I was terrified the reunion was going to be one of them. And then we finally got it, and it was perfect

ETHARI CHANGED HIS MOONSHADOW MARKINGS ON HIS ARMS???? FROM THE CIRCLES TO A SWIRL????

A) So does that mean they’re painted on?

B) if they are painted, does he change them because runaan isn’t there anymore to help him paint them??? Because like, an even circle is real difficult to draw on your shoulder without help.

C) in terms of character design, I will be interpreting this as him losing stability. His old design was perfectly symmetrical, whereas now he’s a little off kilter, literally spiraling with grief. To me, there’s a lot of meaning in his markings specifically, especially the ones under his eyes that look like permanent tear tracks 🫶

D) goddamn it now I have to relearn how to draw his markings

ok I’m going to draw something for the happy bit of the reunion later but OH MY GOD. THE ANGST??? ETHARI BEGGING RUNAAN TO STOP HAUNTING HIM????? WE USED TO PRAY FOR THE REUNION TO BE THIS GOOD. I AM THRIVING. MY CHEST HURTS. I CRIED WHILE DRAWING THIS. IM ON CLOUD NINE.

almost like the white light is meant to mark the moment fate changed and history was prevented from repeating - son will not die like his father, crashed at the bottom of the cliff.

do you think corvus has ever helped ezran to brush his hair, because when the boy was little he didn’t like them tamed in any way and now that he changed his mind with age there is no father to teach him how to do this, even though it was him that passed on the unruly curls onto the kid?

do you think soren has ever helped ezran to put his ceremonial armor on, because there are harrow’s old ones stored in the castle that now the boy is slowly growing into, but there are so many parts and straps and layers and poor kid has no idea what to do with all of them?

do you think corvus and soren have ever whispered in some secluded place about it, because this is their king they’re talking about - and it feels so improper to discuss him having problems and insecurities, but at the same time he is a child and he should be allowed to behave like one and learn things - and also because they love the kid so much but neither of them is allowed to say it out loud?

I wish we got more interactions of Terry and Aaravos because they were so funny to me and their dynamic was so amusing and interesting

Something I find interesting is that in every form Aaravos takes in episode 2 of season 7 we see all his elf forms showing some of his skin other than his face. For Skywing he’s literally wearing a crop top (or something of the sort) with his arms bare, Sunfire has his hands shown, Earthblood has his entire chest is unclothed, Tidebound has his waist and arms shown, and Moonshadow has his midsection and arms unclothed from what I remember.

The only form he takes where he’s not showing any skin other than his face of course, is his human one. He’s literally wearing gloves with belts practically trapping him in. I thought maybe it was to show the difference between his human disguise and his Startouch form since Startouch elves tend to have their main star showing from their clothes and tend to dress in more flowing fabrics. But it could just be overthinking from watching this episode too many times.

A missed opportunity was definitely decoining Kpp’ar and letting him and Aaravos have an interaction because it would’ve been such a fun dynamic plus Aaravos looked so ecstatic to see that Kpp’ar was practicing self-eating magic that I’m sure that would’ve been a topic that led to a very interesting conversation

Pointing out something about Leola and Aaravos cause I’ve had yet to see people talk about it.

Here before Leola’s death/Aaravos falling from the heavens you can see that the like half circle thing (idk what it’s called, I forgot) around Aaravos’ main star is pointing downwards.

However after Leola’s death/his falling from the heavens, you can see that the half circle around his main star is now pointed upwards.

Now Leola’s main star used to have it’s half circle pointing upwards just like Aaravos’ after Leola’s death/his falling from the heavens.

But when she falls to the earth/dies, her main star’s half circle is pointing downwards just like Aaravos’ before her death/his fall from the heavens. (Also I find it interesting how Aaravos is the only thing in the background that’s visible although that could just be a choice to make the scene look more interesting rather than having a deeper meaning.)

I think that the way these changes to their main stars are that they could symbolize how Leola took the kind Aaravos with her when she died and how Aaravos is how Leola lives on through him since he is the only one to remember her and he helped give humans magic like her (albeit dark magic) even going on to say that he’s doing what he does in Leola’s name.

Or maybe since Leola doesn’t seem to come from the stars but instead having been birthed (because Startouch Elves can choose their forms and I don’t think a baby is smart enough to do that), maybe she shares some of Aaravos’ stars and they returned to him when she died? (this one is a crack theory that I don’t particularly believe in but wanted to note anyways.)

Something I’ve been thinking about lately is the fact that the Cosmic Council had said something along the lines of "Leola teaching magic to humans would plunge the world into chaos" and the fact that the chaos could very well have been Aaravos??

Like the (I forgot what it’s actually called, my apologies) future vision that comes from the star primal seems to come in more of a prophetic riddle than a play by play scene of what happens so maybe when they were looking at the future of what would happen they didn’t realize the chaos was Aaravos taking his revenge and they realized too late which is why they didn’t stop him because the chaos had become the Cosmic Order after the event of Leola’s death?? Just a thought that’s probably way off mark though
