That’s Louis Rossman, a repair technician and YouTuber, who went viral recently for railing against Apple. Apple purposely charges a lot for repairs and you either have to pay up or buy a new device. That’s because Apple withholds necessary tools and information from outside repair shops. And to think, we were just so close to change.

rant time

I think it's very important so imma put it out there on the internet:

Normalize science lovers who don't know everything

Normalize science lovers who aren't know-it-alls, who can't fix every single tech problem because 'they're interested in computers,' who haven't studied all of every field of science despite being like 14

Who aren't perfect at everything to do with science just because 'they're interested'

Instead, let there be fascinated science lovers who don't know everything, maybe almost nothing at all, but who light up at the mention of their favorite subject and inhale all information to do with it, who don't yet know but are eager to learn because they care.

You don't need to know everything to like science and I hate that media is conveying that

SERVER TOWERS ARE ONE OF THE MOST INTERESTING THINGS AROUND. I USED TO TALK ABOUT THEM AS A CHILD WITH MY DAD, WHO WORKED AT A BANK. I ALWAYS WONDERED HOW THEY WORKED AND WOULD ASK ENDLESS QUESTIONS.

So excited!!!! First launch I seen live.

We are going to the Moon!

At 1:47 a.m. EST on Nov. 16, 2022, our Orion spacecraft launched aboard the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket from historic Launch Complex 39B at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on a path to the Moon, officially beginning the Artemis I mission.

This mission is the first integrated test of NASA’s deep space exploration systems: the Orion spacecraft, the SLS rocket, and Kennedy ground systems. This is the very first time this rocket and spacecraft have flown together, and it’s the first of many Artemis missions to the Moon. Artemis I is uncrewed, but it lays the groundwork for increasingly complex missions that will land humans on the lunar surface, including the first woman and the first person of color to do so.

With Artemis, we will build a long-term human presence on the Moon and prepare humanity for future exploration plans to Mars and beyond.

See more photos of Artemis I on our Flickr.

What is Artemis I?

The SLS and Orion spacecraft can be seen in the foreground with a full Moon to the left of the spacecraft. The SLS is orange, Orion is white, and the Moon is grey and white. A lightning tower is to the left of the Moon.

On November 14, NASA is set to launch the uncrewed Artemis I flight test to the Moon and back. Artemis I is the first integrated flight test of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, the Orion spacecraft, and Exploration Ground Systems at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. These are the same systems that will bring future Artemis astronauts to the Moon.

The Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), mobile launcher, and Space Launch System (SLS) rocket can all be seen from a low-angle perspective. The VAB is a large grey and white cube-shaped building with large doors. The mobile launcher is grey, black, and white, with many pipes and levels, and the SLS rocket is orange with two white boosters on either side.

Credit: NASA/Ben Smegelsky

Standing 322 feet (98 meters) tall, the SLS rocket comprises of a core stage, an upper stage, two solid boosters, and four RS-25 engines. The SLS rocket is the most powerful rocket in the world, able to carry 59,500 pounds (27 metric tons) of payloads to deep space — more than any other vehicle. With its unprecedented power, SLS is the only rocket that can send the Orion spacecraft, astronauts, and cargo directly to the Moon on a single mission.

The massive Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) is a large grey and white cube-shaped building with large doors. It has an American flag on it, along with the NASA meatball logo and the Artemis mission logo. The Space Launch System (SLS) rocket stands to the right of the VAB. The SLS is orange with two white boosters on either side.

Before launch, Artemis I has some big help: the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) at KSC is the largest single-story building in the world. The VAB was constructed for the assembly of the Apollo/Saturn V Moon rocket, and this is where the SLS rocket is assembled, maintained, and integrated with the Orion spacecraft.

NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, with the Orion capsule atop, slowly rolls out of the Vehicle Assembly Building on the crawler-transporter 2. The crawler is grey with treads and walkways, and the SLS is orange with two white boosters on either side.

The mobile launcher is used to assemble, process, and launch the SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft. The massive structure consists of a two-story base and a tower equipped with a number of connection lines to provide the rocket and spacecraft with power, communications, coolant, and fuel prior to launch.

Capable of carrying 18 million pounds (8.2 million kg) and the size of a baseball infield, crawler-transporter 2 will transport SLS and Orion the 4.2 miles (6.8 km) to Launch Pad 39B. This historic launch pad was where the Apollo 10 mission lifted off from on May 18, 1969, to rehearse the first Moon landing.

An artist’s rendition of the Orion flight shows a portion of a blue and white Earth in a semi-circle at the bottom of this photo; at the center, a white and grey Orion heads towards a semi-lit Moon in grey. The rest of the image is black, with some small stars dotted throughout.

Credit: NASA/Liam Yanulis

During the launch, SLS will generate around 8.8 million pounds (~4.0 million kg) of thrust, propelling the Orion spacecraft into Earth’s orbit. Then, Orion will perform a Trans Lunar Injection to begin the path to the Moon. The spacecraft will orbit the Moon, traveling 40,000 miles beyond the far side of the Moon — farther than any human-rated spacecraft has ever flown.

An artist’s rendition of the Orion spacecraft is in the foreground in front of the Moon. The perspective is from one of the spacecraft’s solar arrays. The solar array is black, with white and orange dots throughout. The spacecraft has a large NASA logo in red and is grey, white, and black overall.

Credit: NASA/Liam Yanulis

The Orion spacecraft is designed to carry astronauts on deep space missions farther than ever before. Orion contains the habitable volume of about two minivans, enough living space for four people for up to 21 days. Future astronauts will be able to prepare food, exercise, and yes, have a bathroom. Orion also has a launch abort system to keep astronauts safe if an emergency happens during launch, and a European-built service module that fuels and propels the spacecraft.

Commander Moonikin Campos, a manikin, sits aboard the Orion spacecraft in the Orion Crew Survival suit, which is orange with blue straps. The helmet is white with a black tinted visor. A black hose connects to the suit, and the blue background shows NASA and Artemis logos.

Credit: NASA/Frank Michaux

While the Artemis I flight test is uncrewed, the Orion spacecraft will not be empty: there will be three manikins aboard the vehicle. Commander Moonikin Campos will be sitting in the commander’s seat, collecting data on the vibrations and accelerations future astronauts will experience on the journey to the Moon. He is joined with two phantom torsos, Helga and Zohar, in a partnership with the German Aerospace Center and Israeli Space Agency to test a radiation protection vest.

Seen from above is the upside-down, open interior of the Orion capsule with 10 CubeSats secured onto its walls. The interior is yellowish-green and textured, and the exterior of the capsule segment is white with a few black panels. It sits in a processing facility with white walls and servicing platforms surrounding the spacecraft.

A host of shoebox-sized satellites called CubeSats help enable science and technology experiments that could enhance our understanding of deep space travel and the Moon while providing critical information for future Artemis missions.

An artist’s rendition of the Orion spacecraft reentering Earth’s atmosphere. Orion is an orange streak coming from the top right to the left center of the photo, and Earth is seen at night with city lights as dots and a thin strip of atmosphere beneath the Sun.

Credit: NASA/Liam Yanulis

At the end of the four-week mission, the Orion spacecraft will return to Earth. Orion will travel at 25,000 mph (40,000 km per hour) before slowing down to 300 mph (480 km per hour) once it enters the Earth’s atmosphere. After the parachutes deploy, the spacecraft will glide in at approximately 20 mph (32 km per hour) before splashdown about 60 miles (100 km) off the coast of California. NASA’s recovery team and the U.S. Navy will retrieve the Orion spacecraft from the Pacific Ocean.

A large gray ship in the background is deploying small boats, with the Orion spacecraft has large inflatable balloons on top.

With the ultimate goal of establishing a long-term presence on the Moon, Artemis I is a critical step as NASA prepares to send humans to Mars and beyond.

Are You Looking At The World’s First Computer Programmer?

Are you looking at the world’s first computer programmer?

Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace (10 December 1815 – 27 November 1852), born Augusta Ada Byron and now commonly known as Ada Lovelace, was an English mathematician and writer chiefly known for her work on Charles Babbage’s early mechanical general-purpose computer, the analytical engine. Her notes on the engine include what is recognised as the first algorithm intended to be processed by a machine; thanks to this, she is sometimes considered the world’s first computer programmer.

If the last name Byron sounds familiar, here’s why,

Ada was the only legitimate child of the poet Lord Byron (with Anne Isabella Milbanke, 11th Baroness Wentworth). [Text & Image Source: Wikipedia]

Bag Tour 2024: Daily Bag Edition Feat. Hannibal Lector

All images have alt text descriptions with items listed, bag tour, and the reasons for each item below the cut

The Bag Itself:

This bag is a Coach Turnlock Tote bag in the pebbled leather color Blossom. This bag, the belt bag I now use as a bag organizer, and the wallet were all gifted to me in 2019 by a family member. The belt is too large for me at this point in life, so the pouch has been repurposed as a Toolkit of sorts. While it is a hair small fully packed, I enjoy the color of it and the balance of it as well as the functionality of the pockets it has.

The Straps:

My straps on this bag usually aren't this cluttered. However, Hannibal has been coming with me to work on a daily basis to get him used to the idea of traveling, and I needed a place to put his harness.

On my straps there is a malachite pendant necklace attached to the charm loop at the bottom of the right side of the outer strap, and my keys are also usually attached here with a carabiner unless I'm going somewhere that I'd want my keys a little bit more secured. I just like malachite. It looks cool. It's the right shades of green, and it's fairly easy to get ahold of.

I also have my stethoscope looped here if it's not around my neck or on my desk at home. I have a neonate size littman stethoscope since I primarily work in companion animal medicine, and I find that it focuses a bit better on my patients who are less than 15 pounds. I do have a regular litmann as well, but that one stays at the office. Most of my after-hours calls are on cats and small geriatric dogs who have standing orders for as needed injections of certain medications whose owners are either unwilling or unable to administer those medications.

Then, the big thing on the straps today is Hannibal's harness. Little dude is 17 weeks, and a whopping 7 lbs already. I could gush about him literally all day, though. His harness was only on the bag while he was allowed to have free roam over the back of the reception area and wrestle with Chewbacca (my terrier).

Turnlock Pocket:

This is where I keep my human med kit for myself, plus treats for my pets, or snacks for myself. Image 8 is the corresponding image.

Human Med Kit:

Glucometer: I have struggled with Non-diabetic hypoglycemia, POTS, and hemiplegic migraines for about 7 years now due to a moderate traumatic brain injury in my teens. So I tend to take 2-5 glucose readings per day. The rubber gloves in my glucometer bag aren't for me to use on me so much as they are to be ready if I need to assist someone in a first aid setting or administer narcan to someone.

Excedrine Migraine: A tried and true beloved OTC medication, both my terrier, Chewbacca, and my malinois, Phobos, are trained for migraine alert and POTS electrolyte imbalance alert work, although Chewbacca is retired at this point. At the first migraine alert from my dogs, I take one tablet of Excedrine and then wait an hour. If the migraine continues to worsen, I then take the second half of the regular dose. This is what works for me, and you should talk to your doctor about treatment options if you have migraines. Currently, I'm down to only 2-4 migraines a month and only experiencing breakthrough hemiplegic migraine symptoms about once every 3 months with this routine.

Narcan: I carry it everywhere. I was never an opioid addict. However, after my TBI, I did struggle with perscription amphetamine addiction, and as a result of having been through that, and having gotten clean, I've become a really big proponent of harm reduction and narcan access programs. There's a few charities I'm involved with that give away narcan locally, and I'd be happy to put anyone interested in carrying narcan some national resources. I also live fairly close to Philadelphia and have unfortunately had to utilize narcan to assist strangers in bars in the past from tainted supplies.

Menstrual cup: I have PCOS, so my cycle isn't super regular and I'd rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it.

Not Pictured: My supply of both instant iced coffee, instant electrolytes, and protein bars that I keep in my glove box, office desk, and at home. Both the caffiene (increases blood pressure) and the electrolytes (increases sodium and potassium) are important in managing my POTS symptoms. The protein bars are for when my glucose drops a bit too far.

Chicken Churu: This was Hannibal's treat for today, we worked on saying hello to strangers and walking nicely on a leash.

Tech:

Corresponding Photos: 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, & 9

Samsung Galaxybook Go: This is my laptop for work and personal use, it has an LTE data chip so I can use it on the go without sucking up my Hotspot data, and it's got fantastic battery life. I bought this refurbished off of Amazon at the beginning of the year. It also charges with a USB-C cable which is super convenient since the rest of my tech with the exception of my smart watch also utilizes USB-C charging so I can just pack a fast charge block and 2 USB-C cables rather than lug around 5 different chargers.

Samsung Galaxytab S6 Lite: It was on special at costco and has an S-Pen which is great as someone who's memory for reading/typing isn't nearly as effective as my memory for things I've written down. I mostly use this for notes on patients and my studies.

Samsung Galaxy23 Ultra: It has a stylus and is of a similar design, feel, and functionality to my Note9 I just replaced last fall.

Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro: The active noise cancelling is fantastic for working in busy coffee shops on Mondays, and the Ambient sound is great for getting a Podcast in during charting or longer monitoring stints.

Samsung Galaxy Watch5: LTE enabled watch helps when I'm away from my phone during the day, it allows me to still get calls, texts, notifications, and keep track of active time and calories burned.

Charging Bundle: One 8" USB-C -> USB-C cord for charging my tablet, phone, or earbuds off of my laptop, one 4' USB-C -> USB-C cord to charge my laptop or other devices if my laptop is sufficently charged, a USB-A -> hard drive cord for my 1TB portable drive, and a USB-A Smart watch charging cord.

Data storage: 8GB flash drive that is mostly used for ultrasound capture transfers and X-Ray Diacom transfers, although occasionally it also gets used for in-house lab data transfers when the WiFi link is acting up. 1 TB portable hard drive, this contains textbook PDFs, a large music library, archived notes, and lesser used reference tables and software. It also has copies of my more important documents.

Vlogging/Content Creation Supplies: Light bar, microphone, mini tripod, comfort grip, and microphone stand. Basically just stuff to enhance recording quality for tiktoks, reels, and YouTube videos (coming soon).

Books & Stationery:

Pocket Edition Book of Common Prayer: No, I am not carrying a Bible around, I have an app for that. This is a Book of Common Prayer (1979 edition) for The Episcopal Church. While I'm laity, I do still try and take time for Morning Prayer/Matin, Noonday Prayer/Diurnum, Evening Prayer/Evensong, and End of Day Prayer/Compline. These are quiet moments for me to break away from the stressors of the day. I also utilize 2 additional devotionals for quiet time upon rising and before bed that supplement my regular journaling, however these stay on my bedside table with my primary journal.

Martha Stewart For Staples Discbound Junior Notebook, this is my planner, quick notebook, and lazy journal, I basically dump my brain out right here throughout the day.

Paper clips: From marking off the current month and week in my planner to organizing papers from drug reps, to getting a client printed copies of their records, there's lots of paperclip usage.

Correction tape: I don't often use pencils and sometimes my brain goes faster than my hand and mistakes happen.

Erasers and pencil leads: If I'm out and about I don't want to lose my ability to sketch and use pencils if they're needed

Pens: Pink, Red, and Black ink, my standard for personal notes is Pink ink, while business notes are done in black, the red is for corrections on both

Pencil: it's the same grip as my favorite pens that I can write for hours with, super beneficial for long study sessions.

S Note App: My longer rough notes and revised notes are done in SNote with a SPen/stylus and handwritten out. I also tend to keep spare nibs on hand, however I am currently out of spare nibs.

Sticky notes/flags: great for passing off notes to coworkers, flagging charts, or marking messages.

Snack Attack:

Travel Cutlery set with a fork, spoon, and knife so that I don't have to get utensils when I grab breakfast or lunch at Wawa or the local BBQ joint

Travel straw: Save the turtles while still enjoying my Starbucks

Bandana/neckerchief: No single use napkins here

Coozie: Perfect for NA Seltzers, Sodas, or a beer at the bar after work. Plus it holds all my other eating supplies.

Beauty/Hygiene:

Hand lotion: washing hands between every patient can leave my hands feeling pretty gnarly, so I always pack lotion

Perfume: Anal Glands happen, and sometimes you just... need to freshen up a bit.

Dry Shampoo: my hair always looks super greasy after taking my scrub cap off after surgeries, this buys me enough time to get through my shift

Hand sanitizer: ideal for housecall visits or visits to elder care facilities where you may not be able to properly wash your hands between patients.

Lip gloss: I'm not a huge fan of lip balms and the waxy feeling they leave on my lips vs the glide of a lipgloss or oil.

Sewing kit: Because if your shirt rips in vet med, it's probably going to be in a place you really don't want it to rip

Manicure kit: wrestling with animals can cause nail breakage and hang nails, and I'd rather not have to chew one off. It also has tweezers that come in handy for splinters or thorns picked up from animal coats.

Blotting sponge: again, I tend to start looking greasy after surgery because I sweat. And I'd rather be able to take care of it quickly and discreetly

Condoms: These don't need to be in my work bag, but they're in the tool kit along with my most basic essentials because the Toolkit is in every bag I use, including bags I use when I go out for girls night or linedancing. Also another have and not need vs need and not have item.

Hair tie, bobby pins, barette: just little extra bits and bobs as needed for hair issues, sometimes the dry shampoo isn't enough and the only solution is to throw my hair up into a slicked back ponytail instead of having it down.

Cooling wet wipe: again, surgical sweating

Other Essentials:

Wallet: Obvious Reasons

Nicotine Pouches: I've quit vaping but I haven't quite kicked the habit entirely yet

Unpictured: Glock 43. I uber and doordash after work, I also deliver controlled substances for patients in some not-so-great areas being ravaged by the opioid epidemic. I'm also a 5'5" disabled female who lives alone and has had a stalker. Sorry not sorry, it's insured, I'm licensed, and I take courses for it routinely.

If you have any questions, comments, or thoughts, feel free to DM me, comment here, comment in the tags, or reblog. Also, I'm aware this is Tumblr and that the Jesus stuff can be frightening to see, just want to make note that I do fall somewhere between a pluralist and a universalist. As long as you aren't using your religious views to oppress, marginalize, or harm people, we're good as far as I'm concerned.

TECH THEORY SEASON 2

SO HOW IS EVERYONE DOING AFTER EPISODE 13!!!???

I am so happy with this episode <3 It was so wholesome

I just wanted to ramble about why Phee works well as Tech's love interest in the Bad Batch!

The creators were waving it under our nose this entire episode!

*Tech has a new perspective of artifacts from different cultures because of his experience in Serenno (w/ Romar). Phee repeatedly mentioned that she was the "liberator of ancient wonders" and no matter the monetary value of said artifact- nothing matters more than the culture itself.

At one point, he stayed around with Phee (for a bit) to ensure that the artifact would be placed somewhere safely on Pabu.

I can COMPLETELY see Phee and Tech going to different planets to try and restore lost artifacts. Tech would most likely want to learn more about the culture itself while Phee would seek the adventure.

This entire episode was about domestic bliss, and that was only brought by her.

Tech was aware that Omega was enjoying herself with someone her age. He most likely would want to stay on Pabu for her as well. *If Phee and tech were to become a thing, then the girls could be family 👀 *

Also - I gotta love the brotherly teasing from Wrecker (and Hunter).

ALSO- Tech's reaction to "Brown Eyes" GOT ME!!! Her saying that clearly caught him off guard and in the most cutest way possible <3

UUGGHH, I AM SUCH A ROMANTIC! WHEN WILL IT BE MY TURN 😭

A great way to start The Bad Batch Season 2 imo :)

I honestly love that Echo slipped and fell because he wasn’t looking straight.

Like he stepped wrong but didn’t see it coming since he was so worried behind him 😂

Accidents like these are human <3 Gives me comfort seeing that the Bad Batch are shown as humans and not always perfect.

Put Him In Rice.

Put him in rice.

He will be fine.

Crosshair - More Than You Can Chew

_____________________

You've been snuggled up in his bunk, gently exchanging little kisses, and you've been feeling his hard length pressing against your leg for several minutes, but so far he hasn't tried to slip into your panties. You know you want more, but aren't sure how to signal it without just bluntly telling him. Then again, you wonder if maybe you should tell him that you have no experience.

Echo suddenly stops, propping himself up on his forearms, half above you, and looks at you questioningly with a gentle smile.

"Where are your thoughts, Mesh'la?"

You bite your lower lip. It's hard for you to meet his gaze, even though it's so gentle.

"I was just thinking if maybe we shouldn't start getting more intimate with each other".

Echo raises his brows in surprise.

"You want sex?" he asks directly.

You felt heat creep into your cheeks. Yes in a way you did want it. But actually, you weren't sure if you were really ready for it yet.

"Well, I've been sensing all along that you actually want more, you can't hide it very well."

Echo laughs softly.

"Well my arousal is actually hard to hide, it's always a bit difficult with men. But just because my body responds appropriately to what we're doing doesn't mean you have to feel obligated to have sex with me. I don't want that. If you really want me, then we can go one step further. Anything else is nonsense."

You look at him nervously.

"And what if I want you?"

Echo smirks.

"Then I would be very happy"

"And what if I don't have any experience yet?"

Echo blinks, then smiles gently.

"You're a virgin?"

You nod nervously.

"And you really want me?"

Another nod.

"Mesh'la I am honored".

Your fingertips gently glide over his shoulders and you say, "But I don't even know how to satisfy you or what exactly to do"

"It doesn't matter at all. You can let me take the lead and I'll take care of everything. You just tell me if something should bother you, then we'll stop."

With a smile, you say, "That sounds reasonable."

Echo slowly leans over you, kissing your neck, your face, your lips. You feel his hard length press against your leg and grope for it curiously. He moans softly into the kiss as your hand clasps him through the fabric of his boxers. Curious your hand travels over his cock, warm and gently pulsing you feel it under your fingers. It is an erotic feeling that you can hardly describe. He wants you, that's clear, it's flattering and exciting.

His hands wander gently, exploring along your half-naked body. Echo finally breaks away from the kiss and takes off the rest of your clothes, your shirt and underwear. He takes his time doing it, each touch gentle and loving.

As Echo begins to move down your body, kissing closer and closer to your most intimate regions, your heart begins to beat even faster. You anticipate what he's about to do and the thought, surges heat inside you and sets your pulse racing.

The first touch between your legs, is a very gentle, testing kiss, a light but long touch. Echo looks up at you briefly and smiles.

"Everything okay so far?" he asks gently.

You nod and say barely louder than a whisper, "Yes."

Any louder noise could have destroyed the delicate bubble of arousal and affection you were currently in. At least, that was your perception.

Echo nods in satisfaction and turns back to your pussy. His warm tongue, pressing flat on your pussy, traces a slow, wide path from your wet entrance up to your clit.

A low moan escapes you. Your breathing becomes heavier. You feel the arousal gathering and tingling in your wet heat. His tongue exerts pressure on your clit and begins to dance on it, slowly at first, almost sluggishly. The sensation is intense. Instantly, your body longs for more.

You moan his name softly as he slowly but steadily increases speed and pressure. His warm, wet tongue dances skillfully on your pearl. Your nerve endings tingle, prickle, heat up. He gently dips two fingertips into your entrance. Very gently, his fingers massage your pussy while his tongue continues to dance on your clit. Very slowly, his fingers slide deeper and deeper into you. You have become so wet that your pleasure runs down his fingers. His touch has heated you up so much that your whole abdomen tenses and the dance of his tongue makes your hips twitch.

Echo hums in satisfaction as he feels how much you enjoy his ministrations. You gasp and moan, Echo's name coming over your lips again and again, like a small, hoarse, breathless exclamation. This is so intense, so different from what you had imagined, so different from any touch you had ever felt before.

Your climax overtakes you with a small yelp. Your hips jerk towards him as he tirelessly works you through your orgasm until it ebbs and finally gently eases off of you.

Echo grins with satisfaction and wipes his mouth with the back of his hand.

"You taste good," he says suggestively "Did you like it?"

Again you nod, this time more eagerly.

"Very much so."

You lie naked before him, completely exposed. But it doesn't feel that way. Echo is loving and looking at you with such devotion that you feel like a queen.

By now, he's completely naked, too. Echo sits up, pulls you up and gently pulls you onto his lap so that you can look at each other. His cock presses on your naked pubic mound. Surprisingly, you were nowhere near as nervous as you thought. Echo is so considerate and gentle that you don't worry at all.

Fortunately, he's since replaced his scomp link arm with an artificial, proper replacement arm, with Tech's help. So he has both hands to touch and guide you. He gently grips your hips and pushes you up until you comply with his suggestion and raise your lap a bit above his. Echo guides the tip of his cock to your entrance.

"You're in control of how fast and deep I go inside you. That's why I pulled you onto my lap. I want you to show me what's okay for you. You can take your time or go wild, just as you like. Once you get used to me, I'll bend over and put you under me. Okay?"

You trust Echo.

"Okay," you reply, biting your lower lip.

Feeling his cock press against your gate is a whole new feeling. Hot, exciting.

"Good. Whenever you're ready, slowly lower yourself onto my lap," he says softly, and you can see from the vein on his neck that his pulse is racing, too.

Somehow it is a relief to know that he is as excited as you are. Slowly you begin to lower yourself onto his lap, feeling his cock part your wet folds and penetrate you as you sink down.

The sensation is intense. He stretches your virgin hole filling you little by little. But you're in control and you take your time. Echo moans softly, he swallows, then smiles.

"You are doing very well, Cyar'ika. Take your time."

When you finally sink all the way onto his lap, it feels like he fills you completely. You've never been this close physically before and the thought is new and exciting.

Echo's fingertips caress your back. His breaths are heavier, deeper and longer.

"You did that very well. How do you feel?"

"I'm so excited. But I feel good, it's so new, unfamiliar, but I like it," you whisper to him.

He laughs softly.

"It's just normal. To be honest, I'm a little excited too," Echo admits.

His hands, real and artificial move gently down to your buns and squeeze, not hard, but with emphasis.

"Try to move, Cyare."

With his hands on your ass he slowly helps you get into a rolling up and down motion. A half-suppressed moan comes from his throat.

"Maker, you're pretty tight," he says hoarsely with arousal.

You like it, the thought that this feeling makes him horny, pleases him. On impulse, you tense your abdomen a little. Echo moans again.

"You learn fast", Echo presses out surprised with a smile "But you should relax, here and today it's all about you".

Your lips find his and you kiss long and intimately, your tongues in a playful battle for the upper hand. Each velvety collision a little shock that travels like an impulse down to your pussy, making your walls convulse tinglingly around his hard length.

Echo slowly leans forward while remaining fused to you, bedding you back down on the sheet. Now lying between your legs you closed around his hips, he begins to thrust you. Gentle, sensual, intense, with each thrust he steals you another kiss at the beginning. Then his hips slowly but steadily become faster and faster.

The friction between your bodies, his cock filling you, is a wonderful feeling. It tingles and tickles in your most intimate regions and you become quite warm. Your arms and legs are clinging to him. Echo holds you hungrily but gently under him in his arms as he takes you. He is befuddled with excitement yet he is in control, he never gets rough or overzealous, he remains gentle.

On impulse you bite his shoulder gently but firmly, it is an impulse deep inside you, a desire.

"More," you press out hoarsely.

He moans and you feel his muscles tense before he starts taking you harder.

"Mesh'la..."

Every movement is ravishing, thrilling, hot. Clinging to him, digging your fingernails into his back, your teeth into his shoulder you move with him. Every thrust drives you closer to your orgasm, every movement a new tingle.

Echo is lost inside you, unable to form a clear thought, but he doesn't have to. He feels you more intimate and close than ever before.

"Mesh'la, I don't know how much longer I can hold out".

The intensity is steadily increasing , you know it won't be long now.

"It's almost time! Don't stop!" comes from your lips.

Your fingernails dig into the muscles in his back as your climax takes over like a roaring wave, sweeping you along with it. With your arms and legs clinging to Echo as if you are afraid of literally being washed away, you feel his cock pulsing inside you and coating your walls in ribbons.

You are breathless and overwhelmed. Echo's lips move gently, almost languidly over your neck to your mouth. Touching your skin he says, "Oh Cyare, this is far more than I had hoped for. You feel like a goddess."

His words are like a balm. With a wide smile, you snuggle into his arms. You hear him laugh softly and gently.

"What's the matter?"

He kisses you and says, "Nothing, I'm just very happy".

latinachiquita - BAD BATCH ENTHUSIAST

Hello! I’ve been enjoying every written work you release 🥰

For the Bad Batch HCs, would you be able to write about the boys having a short partner?

I’m 4”6’ (O.o) - would the boys tease? Do they have a preference on who is the big spoon?

Thanks, love!

Makes me very happy to read that! Always delighted to see people enjoying my stuff :)) 🥰

Oh that's cute :), I'm 5'6. Which is still small compared to some of the boys :D

Let me see...

The Bad Batch x Short Reader HC's

Hello! I’ve Been Enjoying Every Written Work You Release 🥰

Hello! I’ve Been Enjoying Every Written Work You Release 🥰

Hunter

He doesn't give it too much thought, honestly, he likes you, he thinks your cute, your height is not really something he cares about much. Maybe because he is the shortest of his CF99 brothers.

He loves to be the big spoon and he is a cuddle machine in bed, if you let him he is pretty snuggly and hands on, you'll probably be wrapped in some of his limbs all night.

However, he doesn't like it when someone makes fun of your size. Makes him pretty angry, pretty fast.

Hello! I’ve Been Enjoying Every Written Work You Release 🥰

Echo

He is very caring and protective. The smaller you are, the more protective he is for some reason, as if your size has an impact on how dangerous the world around you is.

The smaller you are the more delicate he handles you. But let's be frank, Echo is overcaring either way, you could be Wrecker's size and he would still be all around you to keep you safe, it's just who he is. But it for sure as hell intensifies the smaller you are.

He really likes cuddles but in the beginning he might be a bit hesitant and super careful, but that's not because of your size, it's his prosthetics, he just doesn't want to hurt you.

Hello! I’ve Been Enjoying Every Written Work You Release 🥰

Wrecker

"Maker, you are so cute, you are so tiny!"

He doesn't mean to insult you, not at all, he really is surprised about your height the first time he meets you and he really does think you are cute.

He doesn't make fun of you, not even in a loving way. He never mentions your size in a negative way, at least not on purpose. But be prepared to be carried around a lot, he just loves to pick you up, swing you around or carry you around, cause that way he's got you close to him.

As you might have suspected; Wrecker is indeed a cuddle machine, all day if he get's the chance. He loves to be the big spoon and he is very soft and sweet with you, careful and loving. He can be an elephant in a china store, but with you he is so smooth and tender that you can hardly resist him.

Hello! I’ve Been Enjoying Every Written Work You Release 🥰

Tech

When he meets you the first time, he is a little surprised, looking at you examining. Sometimes he forgets that he actually is not only exceptionally clever but also exceptionally tall.

If you ask him what he thinks about your height he will say something along the lines of, "Well, you are quite short. Other than that, there is not much to think of. Should I think about your height in a certain way?"

If he falls for you, he falls hard and he doesn't care about your size, height or weight.

He's a spider monkey, I haven't figured out why yet but he likes to clasp his legs around you, at every opportunity you are embraced by his long legs, from behind or from the front.

Hello! I’ve Been Enjoying Every Written Work You Release 🥰

Crosshair

He will be mocking you about it, a lot, mainly to get your attention. Holding things out of your reach, or putting them out of your reach, making little remarks and stupid but harmless jokes.

He doesn't mean any harm, he's actually fascinated by you, he likes you and his way of showing interest starts always with mocking and little remarks. You'll get used to it if you really want to.

Crosshair is not much of a cuddler, in bed sure, but not generally. He doesn't really care who the big spoon is, when he is in a cuddly mood, all that counts is body contact, to have you close.

First day at new job!

First Day At New Job!
First Day At New Job!

Monday 8th January 2024

OMG today was the best! The new job’s office (not in the picture background, I'm at the doctor's there...) has so many cool chill people in it, so far I wanna stay here forever!

Had induction meetings, and a tour around the office, everything was so cool! Another 2 people joined so I wasn’t entirely nervous thinking I’m the only one who would be confused on the whole onboarding process. Work’s in an old-like building with a Grunge aesthetic vibe going on, absolutely love it! And music plays in the background which is so much better than the old job which was in complete silence 🤐

I'm just super excited to start working on the project + the team seem, and are, super friendly and helpful! Thank God for a smooth process getting here, yay!

What I Wish I Knew When Walking Into Retail as an Adolescent

I started working at age 18 and had a lot of difficulty with social cues. If I could teach you anything, it would be that being in public is going to be awkward and that is okay.

My first job was at a grocery store. I was so nervous entering my first shift that I remember my whole body shook with anxiety.

It felt like the entire town was in my line for the sole purpose of watching and judging me. My very first customer was this petite old lady wearing a red bandana in her hair.

Her words seemed to instantly soothe me, "Don't be so nervous; you are doing great!" I swear she could read my brain, and while this did not completely dissipate all fears, it was what I needed to hear at that moment.

Just as finding a comforting anchor is important, so too is the ability to have fun through social interactions. You will have so much more fun at your job if you can find ways to be friendly with potential customers.

Acting as a patron, I have had several grocery store checkout encounters that followed the tune of,

"Hi, how are you?"

"Oh I'm fine, and you?"

"Living the dream."

I cannot stress how boring and nuanced this exchange is.

To step up your retail game, I would highly recommend trying one of two things; either learning to recognize returning customers or learning more about the products of your store.

One of the best moments I've had in retail was when I recognized a customer having to come back in again that same day for something they forgot to grab for a holiday dinner and was able to immediately point them to the right aisle. When you greet each person that enters the store, you have a great chance of improving someone's mood. It's amazing how a simple acknowledgment can make a customer feel more comfortable in your store.

Equally important is being able to talk about a true admiration for a product or manufacturer. You would be surprised how a couple of deep debates about which M&M's trial flavor Mars should choose to make a permanent product can make 8 hours fly by in a wink.

Having a genuine love of a product can foster enthusiasm not just for your customers, but for you as well.

On the other hand, I have to advise you of one terrible social faux pas I once made.

I once picked up a tall cylindrical container on a lone night shift and inquired to the customer, "I have not tried this sauce. Is it any good?"

It wasn't until I flipped the bottle over and read ‘Personal Lubricant’ on its label that I understood what I was scanning. My customer did not answer and I never saw her again, understandably.

Finally, this last point is the heaviest and details a specific example of sexual harassment. If this is a sensitive topic for you, I would love to encourage you to jump to the last paragraph.

I continuously struggle with recognizing the difference between flirting and being sexually harassed. The only guidance I can give you is to ask yourself if you are feeling comfortable in a similar situation. If you are not, try to find your voice and speak up. If the other party can't back down after you request they stop, this is textbook harassment (of any form.)

Without further ado, here is my experience. When I moved from my first job as a cashier, I became a sales associate at a tech store.

I once dealt with a man who drives semi-trucks for a living. Anyone reading this who has been in retail or food service may know exactly where this is going already.

I can still recall his slicked-back greasy hair, backwards ball cap and terrible breath. The week leading up to this moment, I had decided to cut and brightly dye my hair. Immediately, my hairstyle seemed to attract sordid attention.

For over an hour, I remember explaining a product, setting it up and troubleshooting any issues that may come up. In between words, this driver made multiple crude remarks about his wild imagination involving me, him and my purple pixie cut. A friend that he had brought along with only encouraged him by laughing at each comment made. These varied from asking me on nasty dates to probing for my cell number.

I felt trapped by the long product setup and sales process as he made passes toward me. He thought that my eccentric hair meant that I was 'easy.' When I pointedly told him I had a boyfriend, he retorted with, "I know you would love to take a ride on my hairy bush."

I felt so sick about this last comment and was grateful when the sale was finished. I had tried so hard to handle a 'tricky customer' and deescalate the situation. It was only after he and his friend left the store that a coworker came over and told me how she wanted to scream at him to get out and couldn't believe how he was treating me. We then told our boss about the situation.

That same day, the truck driver came back in for product help. I was working in the back of the store when my boss came and told me, "Hey, your boyfriend came back. He's waiting for you." I could have strangled him.

Years later, I still have so much anger over this situation. I am disappointed in myself for not having self-respect or even recognizing the vulgarity of that particular sale. I held a longstanding grudge against my employer for treating me like fodder. And I held a strong hatred for this truck driver (and I'm sure this translated to an extreme hesitance when interacting with all semi-truck drivers in the future.)

In the final analysis of these events, I would like to reassure you that even though the public school system can't socially prepare you, you won't drown if you can remember to find peace, make genuine connections, and respect yourself.

Please let me know if this was helpful and if you would like me to write about more of my retail experiences!
