Being chubby/overweight is just so unfair, people bash and disrespect you no matter what you do.

No matter what food you eat (if you eat unhealthy, they hate on you saying how "they could never", but if you eat healthy, they think you're lying and eat much more when no one is around)

No matter if you exercise or not (if you don't, they yell at you to go to the gym, but if you do, they either don't believe you or make fun of you for being a fat person in the gym)

If you have an ED, they don't believe you (because society thinks only skinny people struggle with them) and claim you just eat too much.

If you say you like being fat and feel comfortable in your body, you're automatically promoting morbid obesity to everyone around (or have a sick fetish for fat people)

If you say you dislike being fat and plan to go on a diet, barely anyone believes in you. Most people just make bets on how long your little "diet" will last.

Society does all those shitty stuff to you and then say they do it because they "worry about your health" but you know damn well they're lying (because in cases where a skinny girl literally promotes pro-ana behaviors and starvation, no one bats an eye)

I mourn for all the women that were misunderstood in the past. The women who wanted to live their lives without the restraint of man telling them how they should live. Women who were burned alive for no reason other than they were born the wrong gender. Women who spoke their minds and were persecuted because their beliefs were different.

I will mourn for all the women who live after me. Women in the future will face the same things we have been experiencing for thousands of years. I have never considered myself a ‘feminist’. After years and years though, you’d think that something would change. If it hasn’t changed yet…why would anything ever be any different?

something’s making me very sad about my crush

he’s very popular and handsome, so most people know him and most of his friends are also popular and all so you either like them or you’re a nerd (you see what i mean)

so every time i hear compliments about him, it’s like ‘you’re so handsome’, ‘you dress so well’, ‘you look so cool’, ‘your clothes look great’ and all

but as soon as you start talking about his personality, all you’ll hear is ‘he’s shallow’, ‘he doesn’t even have a personality’, ‘he only has looks’, or even ‘he’s dumb’

i don’t think i ever heard anyone making a compliment about his personality or his interests, not even his friends

whenever he makes a post on instagram, he easily gets hundreds of likes and about 100 comments in no time, everyone telling him he looks fine and he’s handsome, girls asking him to marry them, this kind of stuff

if he asks people to tell him something random in his story, everyone will tell him he looks good and he dresses well

and imma be honest, it’s true, he does look good, he’s very handsome and he dresses well; but he’s not shallow, he’s not here to just look good and shut up, he’s not superficial

the first time i heard about him was when he randomly texted me for the first time and we started talking; we had a lot of long and interesting conversations about so many things... beyond his looks you’ll find his interests if you just try to care about it.

he’s very cultured because he believes it’s important, he listens to pretty much everything, even traditional music from countries you forgot about, he enjoys learning new things, especially about our society and the way it works (here and in countries no one ever talks about), he loves music, plays guitar, he’s very funny and open-minded, he wouldn’t disrespect you, he’s very fun to be around, he likes to hang out and talk about literally anything, he’s the opposite of a fake, he’s real and you won’t feel embarrassed or out of place if you ever get to talk to him; if he knows what you’re talking about, he’ll give you his opinion and if he doesn’t, he’ll be interested and he’ll ask you about it, he definitely isn’t dumb, he’s also very talented especially when it comes to music

i wish people would just try to understand him like he’s always trying to understand how the world works; everyone loves him for his looks but no one cares about his interests, this is so unfair..

i’ve been talking to him for months and he always respected me, showed interest, helped me and supported me; he showed me kindness and a beautiful smile even after i said the most embarrassing things to him

i just hope he’s doing ok, i don’t want this to make him feel bad but he does know about people calling him shallow and superficial; i think he told me it was making him feel kinda sad because it’s not true

he deserves the world, not a bunch of fake people

On a personal note, I always found the relationship between the two men fascinating, and I’m a bit sad we got nothing of Dahmer and Kennedy together, so I decided to draw a moment of the two together. “If we don’t have any photos of the duo, then I’ll create one by myself”, that’s what I told myself. I am so happy that fanfiction brings joy to people, and even inspiration for readers to begin writing, themselves.

HOWEVER

If a specific fanfic gives you inspiration to write your own version with the same idea, PLEASE give the original author credit!!!1!!1

Yesterday I came across a fic that was very similar to my story Lift Confessions. The plot, the warnings, the couple in the writing; it was all very painfully similar.

Some of y'all have no idea how upsetting it is to spend months planning out a story and publishing the first chapter only to have the idea taken and claimed by another; one with a particularly larger audience, as well.

Even in my second series, The Couple Next Door, although I don't know who the OP was for that idea, I still gave them credit because it wasn't my idea.

I'm a visual artist as well, and stealing other people's ideas and claiming their hard work is common and so upsetting, I can barely even put the frustration of it into words.

All of those hours and hours of work we spend creating something we love?

Gone.

Let this be a message to all (future) fanfiction writers.

PLEASE GIVE CREDIT TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER IF IT WAS THEIR STORY THAT HAD YOU INSPIRED.

P.S. Giving the OP credit won't make your story any less good. Please just be truthful to your audience to prevent breaking an artist's heart (whether their medium is writing, drawing, music, etc.)
