I've noticed a bit of a trend with my fics where, in terms of in-story time frames, Caitlyn and Vi fall for each other in a short time and I'm like "hmm, should I have made it longer to be more believable?" But then I remember the time they spent together in S1 was probably no more than 24-48 hours and these gay ass bitches were asking "what about us?" by the end of those few days and we ate it up like goblins 😂

“You’re staring,” Caitlyn muttered quietly to Vi as the adults examined Jayce’s chalkboard of runes. He was walking them through how he wanted to use them to try to communicate to the Arcane tether. Vi smirked. “And? You’re hot, princess.” Caitlyn blushed and bit back a smile as she ducked her head. Vi swore she could practically feel Caitlyn’s heart skip inside her own chest. She sighed contentedly, resting her cheek on her hand to continue her examination of Caitlyn’s profile, which was much more interesting than the magic mumbo jumbo being discussed.

For CaitVi, and fanfiction in general, I haven't read that much lately, if I'm being honest. It's not because I don't want to, but because 90% of my free time I have has been dedicated to writing the fics I'm currently working on that there's just not enough spare time I have to read. I used to read way more, but I honestly fell out of fandom life in general a few years ago prior to Arcane, so I just haven't engaged much with fanfiction or tumblr for a bit. Only these two fucking characters could pull me back onto this gremlin house of a website 😂

I shall add this pirate AU to my TBR bookmarks! Thank you for the rec😁

Maybe if I lose steam/inspiration for writing, I can take some time to read more fics, but for now, I'm riding this wild ride of 3 months straight of inspiration until I hit a wall, which hopefully never comes 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I was sent over here from North Piltover Station for reassignment,” Caitlyn stated. The man blinked his dull, watery blue eyes several times at her, as if he wasn’t sure if she was real or not. “You’re who from where?” he asked as he pulled the paper off of him.

@nogaph has done it again! An amazing sketch from the most recent chapter of "Tethered." Show them some love. I loved writing this scene so much and the beautiful motes of Arcane are such a nice touch in this artwork. It's pretty much exactly how I pictured it!

Edit: this is art from the original writing of “Tethered.” I would never think of taking this down though, as it is too pretty. As of May 21, 2025 this hasn’t happened in the rewrite.

Ch. 6: Diesel is Desire "Tethered" CaitVi FanFic

Caitlyn sucked in a sharp gasp and looked up at Vi, meeting her eyes in the mirror. Vi immediately slapped her hand over her eyes and suddenly wished the floor beneath her would open up and swallow her whole. “I’m sorry!” she rushed out, her voice cracking. She could feel how hot her cheeks were, both from arousal and humiliation. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean—I forgot the mirror was there—I only saw for a second—“ She stopped talking, her brain moving too quickly for her to get a full sentence out. Through the tether, Vi felt mild embarrassment, but was mostly dominated by flattery and a shared arousal. But there was no anger and Vi felt herself relax ever so slightly. “It’s okay,” Caitlyn said, her voice slightly strained. “I believe you, Vi.” The silence between them was incredibly awkward and Vi was still fighting the heat that simmered beneath her skin. We should probably talk about this as well at some point, she thought, tightening the hand she still held over her eyes.

I've said before that I've been making up my fics as I go, as I have found out that I am more of a discovery writer than I am an outline writer. So this entire time for "Low Lays the Devil in Me," I've had no idea how the conflict will come to a climax.

Oh, oh, oh booooooy. I've thought of it and I am soooooo excited!!! I also think I know what the last scene will be. Don't worry, we still have quite a bit of plot left. I think we're over the halfway mark plot wise, but I'm just stoked!

“She already feels really bad, okay. You don’t need to make it worse,” she spat, sitting up and looking Cassandra in the eye with a stubborn furrow of her brow. “Vi, it’s okay,” Caitlyn whispered, but she ignored her and just glared at Cassandra. The woman met her gaze, but narrowed her eyes as they darted back and forth between the two teenagers suspiciously. “You two are getting on strangely well considering what you said when I was here last,” Vander observed, also looking at them curiously. Neither of the girls said anything. People knew about their shared emotions, but talking about it with others seemed almost wrong. Too personal. Vi looked at Caitlyn and they both sent through the tether a mutual understanding to not discuss it with others unless they had to.

Hi Caitlyn Kirammans.I've read chapter 14 of "Low Lays the Devil in Me," and there's a threatening line Smeech gives Caitlyn about damaging one of her eyes before she takes her to meet the Chembarons, which really caught my attention.

Later in the story, will Caitlyn get her eyepatch? How did it happen at the end of "Arcane?"

I won’t say if she gets the eyepatch cuz I honestly don’t know yet. Given that Jinx and Caitlyn are parallel characters in the show, this scene fits Caitlyn well, even if it’s directly inspired by the one with Smeech and Jinx in season 2. So I haven’t decided yet if Caitlyn still loses her eye.

Of all the things people wanted to know regarding the secrets of the noble and oldest of Piltover’s Houses, treasure was almost always the first thing they asked about. Predictable, she thought in annoyance. “Why are you so interested in gold, Smeech?” she replied with a low voice. “Shall I tell the Chembarons that you are unhappy with what they pay you?” A low growl from him made her smirk. She heard the whirling of gears and suddenly she sensed that Smeech was very close to her face. “I would like to see you try that kind of wit with the Chembarons.” His voice shuddered in an almost anticipatory, sadistic joy.

The way I am enjoying writing this next chapter in "Low Lays the Devil in Me" about the Chembarons is almost worrisome. This is almost as much fun to write as Vi's extraction chapter.

If anyone is wondering, a great album to listen to while reading "Low Lays the Devil in Me" is the official soundtrack to "Candela Obscura" by Colm R. McGuinness. It's definitely good for a more seedy underbelly in a steam punk Victorian era setting, which is perfect for this fic's grittier scenes. Plus it's just dope as hell. I've listened to it on repeat when writing Caitlyn working as "Officer Kiramman."

Ch. 4 "Tethered" CaitVi FanFic

Caitlyn shrugged. “I don’t really get on with my peers.” “You do with Maddie.” She sighed. “I’ve told you. Maddie and I have an…arrangement. I don’t really have a lot of desire to use what little free time I have for a relationship, at least not with her. She can be fun and she is… experienced, as you’ve inferred.” Vi smirked and did a crude gesture with her fingers that made Caitlyn turn a bright red and Vi laughed. “But she’s better in small doses,” Caitlyn finished. She then looked at Vi hesitantly and slowly asked, “do you want to go to the Copper Kettle?” Vi shrugged. “I’m bored and I’ve been stuck inside for two days. You may not have a lot of free time, but my brothers, sister, and I have to find ways to entertain ourselves every day. I don’t handle boredom well.”

So, I've really started to flesh out the CaitVi Pirate AU. I'm sooooo stoked for it, you guys. It's going to be very different than anything I've written, which means it'll be challenging, but I am chomping at the bit to really get going on it. I don't think I'll wait for "Low Lays the Devil in Me" to be done, so I will probably start posting chapters after I'm done with "Tethered."

OH! Just saw that "Low Lays the Devil in Me" has just reached over 100,000 words with the newest chapter. Which means this CaitVi series is now almost 300,000 words long. We still have quite a ways to go in this fic, but I do believe we're now on the other half of half way done plot wise. Hard to tell when I'm making it up as I go along, but holy shit these are long fics. Haha. Definitely could see this series being 350,000 words total before I'm finished.

Vi looked around the councilor and her eyebrows flew up her brow in surprise. “Aunt Sevika?” she asked incredulously. Standing up in steel toed boots, dark leather pants with a few straps holding it together, and a cropped black muscle shirt with her signature dark, dull red and tattered cloak over one shoulder, was her mother’s best friend from when she was alive. “Hey, kid,” she grunted out.

I didn't expect to love writing "Tethered" as much as I am! This Arcane bond between Caitlyn and Vi is so much fun to explore as is the more antagonistic relationship between them. An enjoyable deviation from Low Lays the Devil where they're madly in love 😂

Haha I love that you’re excited. Just know it would be a while before I could get to it since I still have Low Lays the Devil and the Pirate AU. But I’d love to get to it down the line. I do think they’d have 1 kid, probably be in the early to mid thirties, and it would be suuuuper angsty.

I’m finishing up at work and put my liked playlist on shuffle. Evermore by Taylor Swift comes on and all I can suddenly think about is a divorce AU CaitVi….oooooh noooooo 😬😭 maybe after the pirate AU 🤣

I do think writing fics has changed Vi from being my second fave to just being tied with Caitlyn for absolutely favorite. Idk if it’s cuz I’ve tried to spend so much time in her head from canon (at least, how I interpret being in her head) or what. But I’m not mad. She’s an amazing character. They’re just my babies ❤️💙

However,” she said, ignoring Vi’s choked gasp, “given her age and the fact that she made me aware of Jayce’s illegal research, I have decided to not press charges.” Vander snorted, which obviously threw the councilor off as she raised her brow in surprise at the reaction. “You can’t let word get out that your boy was doing magic with your money and name, you mean, and are hoping for our silence in exchange for her not being carted off to prison,” he stated. Cassandra blinked at his words and Vi could tell she was taken aback at how easily Vander could read in between the lines. She quickly recovered and sat up even straighter, if it were possible. “Yes,” she simply responded. “I would prefer, if possible, to maintain a level of discretion regarding this incident.”

Caitlyn saw Powder wrinkle her nose and utter a quiet, “ew.” “Violet,” Caitlyn said warningly, but before she could blink, Vi darted forward and wrapped her powerful arms around Caitlyn and lifted her off her feet, rubbing her drenched face all over Caitlyn’s. Caitlyn let out a half delighted, half disgusted shriek and pulled her head back away from Vi, but couldn’t fight her off with her arms pinned to her side. Caitlyn was strong, but she had nothing on Vi’s strength and knew she would never be able to push Vi off of her if Vi didn’t want to let go. “Release me at once, Violet,” she cried out, but the annoyance she tried to convey was belayed by the stupid grin that she knew pulled at her lips. Vi immediately let go, her own smile almost blinding. “I’m so sorry, princess,” she said, then gave Caitlyn a sweet kiss to emphasize her apology.

When Vi and Caitlyn are caught up in an explosion from an Arcane stone after Vi broke into some rich Piltie’s apartment, a magical bond is formed between them and won’t let them be further than 15 feet apart from one another, physically—and dangerously—wrenching them back together if they try. With the study of magic banned in Piltover, learning how to undo it will not be an easy task and they must remain close to each other until the bond is dissolved. Vi is angry that she is forced to be tethered to some privileged Piltie and, while Caitlyn is excited to finally meet someone from Zaun, she is quickly disillusioned by how unfairly Vi treats her for something that wasn’t her fault. Can the two teenagers learn to get along until their tether can be broken? Or will this magical bond only cause a bigger rift to divide two people from opposite sides of the city?
