Werewolf - Blog Posts

Earlier today I was making a ceramic necklace pendant and was like "hey, I wanna make something werewolf related I can wear" so I was thinking and started wondering if there was any kind of general "werwolf symbol" out there that I could carve onto said pendant.

I found out that there is! It's an ancient shield emblem originating from Germany and Eastern France called Wolfsangel, which translates to "wolf's hook" and was sometimes associated with lycanthropy, and was later adopted by peasant revolutionaries as a symbol for German liberation in the 15th century. Pretty cool right?

Well not so much actually.

Im really really glad that I kept researching before I started carving because apparently Wolfsangel was actually appropriated by the Nazi's during WW2 and is now globally classified as a hate symbol. Great :|

All of this is to say that I think it's about time we created/found a new symbol for werewolves, one that doesn't have a shitty double meaning lol. Something like the theta-delta or elven star, but for werewolves (or werebeasts in general) specifically. Not sure if one already exists somewhere, I couldn't find one while researching but I wouldn't be surprised if there was one tucked away in some dusty old 2000's internet forum that someone would like to clue me in on. But if not, I think it'd be cool to start trying to figure out a new one, something that anyone who identifies with the "were" label for any reason can use!

If for no other reason, than at least just so I can find something to put on my pendant lmaooo

Ever since I learned to cut the "but I know Im still completely human btw" bullshit in regards to my nonhumanity and instead just embraced the whole "Im literally a werewolf" mindset, Ive honestly been sooooo much happier and more confident with myself and my identity.

I feel so much more in-tune with my authentic self, and my overall expression is much better aligned with how I perceive myself. My species dysphoria certainly hasn't disappeared, but it's miles more manageable than it was even compared to a year ago, which ironically has also helped me learn to love the parts of me that are still human. Im so much more balanced now, and the internalized shame I struggled with for so long is steadily eroding away. Even something as simple as casually making jokes to my friends about how they might catch me prowling the forest on a full moon is infinitely more affirming than constantly trying to convince humans that I "didn't actually believe I was an animal".

I am a real life lycanthrope. I'm never going to deny that part of myself ever again. Fuck trying to make yourself palatable for human social norms.

My God This Took Longer Than Expected. Got VERY Side Tracked And Then Went On Vacation. Got Home YESTERDAY

My god this took longer than expected. Got VERY side tracked and then went on vacation. Got home YESTERDAY and I just finished this, at 11 at night....

ANYWAY... lore time

This boy grew up in a village located in a snowy forest, not snow year round but for most of the year its there. He actually never got cursed by another werewolf, but was curses by a spirit instead. He left his village after they found out he was cursed, living close to one of the wolf packs in the area. Currently he occupies an abandoned shack with his QPR partner.

I'll put him and all of his lore up on UnVale soon... maybe... I hope, idk ADHD am I right?

I totally wasn't procrastinating and definitely didn't keep putting this to the side!!!

Any way, first GAOMON drawing I'm going to share with you! I currently have two styles, this, and a very sketchy and messy style which I will show you soon. So character loreee, this is Archer, he is very fluffy werewolf.... ya that's all you get for now. I'm gonna have to put him up on UnVale but I haven't drawn him normally yet in this style, which I wanna do for character sheets, so it will be a second.

K, enjoy the pubby

There's something hilarious about how so much subsequent media has positioned Vampires and Werewolves as, like, binary opposite entities, and then you read Dracula (1897) and realize that wolves are that guy's preferred solution to every problem. You'd say something to Dracula about "ah yes, werewolves, vampires' great eternal enemies," and he'd just be like "you mean my subcontractors?"

You couldn’t decide what was worse the fact that the monster wasn’t just some brainless dog, but could comminate to you like a human, or the fact that he turned out to be a handsome man that you recognized.

"Thank you..."

The voice of a man surrounding you caused your body to tense, quickly searching for the source of the sound. It was deep and warm, engulfing your body in a feeling of warmth that you could not even begin to process.

"Who's there?" You shouted into the air, attempting to sound intimidating despite already having a threat laying on your feet. Your voice echoed off the trees, proving that it was only you, the wolf, and the forest. 'Have I gone crazy?'

The giant wolf began to paw at your leg, rubbing his heavy killer claws gently against your leg as if to capture your attention. The scene before you seemed bizarre, how could a ferocious beast who murdered noblemen not too long ago crave a response from you? It was not possible, maybe he just wanted more food.

“I’m going to need the food, buddy. I can’t spare any more.” You couldn't help but have this nagging voice in the back of your head, telling you to just throw the bag at the beast since you were going to die anyway.

Even if the wolf had let you go, to survive the forest and all its challenges for who knows how long would seem impossible from the current position you were in. Not to mention the fact that even if you did survive you would never be allowed back in your village. They would figure out a way to blame the nobleman and knight's death on you without a proper trial. You would be hung by morning.

Tears welled up in your eyes as you thought about your small home and bakery, only three streets apart from each other. It was all you have ever known, a gift sent from a very generous person who allowed you to live your dreams and to sleep under a warm roof. Baking meant everything to you, creating masterpieces from simple ingredients, turning nothing into something like it was magic.

You can imagine it now, your home and bakery will be raided for any valuables and then torn down. Your house will be sold off to some noble since most of the peasants could not afford housing. The ache in your heart only seemed to increase the more you thought about it. The love and hard work you had put into those places had been destroyed by the events of today.

The wolf's stillness was broken at your tears, head lifting as it crawled on its stomach to inch closer to you, caution in its movements almost as if not to spook you. Now it rested on your lap, nuzzling your thighs and you gulped at the feeling of its soft fuzzy ears against your dress. That would have been the weirdest part if it wasn't for what followed.

"Deep breaths.” The voice was now firm, almost demanding, and from the emphasis of the wolf pushing its body weight into you, it was hard to ignore the obvious answer to your earlier question.

Your hands moved on their own, faster than you could think through your actions, grasping his head and pushing him away from your body so you could stare into his eyes in disbelief. Your head began to feel dizzy as its human-like eyes stared back at you, trying to decipher your reaction.

"I do not wish to scare you, truly I've missed you, Angel."

Maybe it was the fact that the voice sounded like it was in your head, or maybe it was the fact that you had convinced yourself that this voice was coming from the large grey beast in front of you. Or maybe, just maybe it was the familiar nickname you had only dreamed of being called again. Whatever it was, your brain had failed to comprehend it because the next thing you knew a wave of nausea hit you before there was a harsh snap of your cautiousness, vision fading to black as you were left at the mercy of the beast.

He was the Lord's son, making him a celebrity from the moment he was born. His father was said to be a nobody before he moved to your small village, just a simple man with moderate money who chose to terrorize a secluded town too far from the kingdom to get aid.

Everyone hated him, however, he threw his money at people who supported him, quickly buying his way to the top. Eventually, he crowned himself as the ruler of your village, and that's when his true anarchy began.

The Lord began to create laws to which peasants like your family could only succumb, creating impossible taxes to pay if you owned property. This resulted in your family becoming homeless, to which The Lord quickly moved his groupies into the newly vacated market. Yes, it sure did pay to support him.

You and your family had been sleeping on the streets for only one week, but it seemed your parents couldn't take it and left you to fend for yourself, choosing that the four-week trip to the next town would be easier without a child.

At the tender age of eight, you had begged people for labor work so you could make money. It seemed rich nobles loved your sob story because you were quickly employed to do minor tasks like carrying buckets of water for baths. This had afforded you food and sometimes even a place to sleep if the employers were kind enough.

Up until that point you had only seen the Lord's son passing, always hidden behind a crowd of people cooing at him. All you had known about him was that his mother was the daughter of The Lord's biggest supporters and thus was betrothed to him despite having an almost fifteen-year age gap.

It was a normal day, you were trying to decide on a place to sleep after finding no luck for a place to stay. You opted to sleep on an old abandoned hammock near a small field of wildflowers. The scent of the flowers and the slow rocking of the hammock soothed you right to sleep and seeing as there were no signs of rain, it seemed like the perfect spot.

But when you had reached it, you had found that it was already occupied by none other than the young honorable boy. He certainly did not look like royalty at that moment, once an expensive suit ripped and torn, his face caked in mud with round red cheeks stained with what looked like tears.

You were rather agitated, his father had ruined your home, your family, and now he was ruining your sleep. "Wake up," you grumble, shaking his arm. Maybe if you were a bit more mature, with a bit more sense, you would have never dared to touch someone as high status as him. You called his name, which caused him to stir, rubbing one tired eye and opening the other.

His mouth hung open at the sight of you, probably covered in dust from a day worth of hard work, hands battered and scared patting down your dirty dress as you attempted to get his attention. "Why are you here?"

Your question was rude and snippy, but he didn't seem to mind as he just continued to openly gawk at you. You felt your eye twitch at his stupid face, how could someone who practices etiquette all day be so rude? Not that you were being the kindest at that moment.

"Hey! I was asking you a question, young lord," you tried once more, remembering to address him as his title. "Shouldn't you be at home? I'm sure your maid is looking for you."

It was at that moment that he had to be younger than you by a year or two, or at least certainly less mature as he reached out to cup your face, pinching the fat of your cheek as if to check something. "You smell...nice," was his only response.

This only confused you more, but you allowed him to touch your hair and trace your face, almost in a trance from your presence. This was one of the only moments in your life where you had felt important, no one had paid attention to you, always being in the background with no family or friends to share happy moments with. But not you held the attention of one of the most important people in the area.

The moment was ruined when the little boy's stomach growled rather loudly, to which he pulled back and tried to hide his flustered face. "Do you...do you have any food?"

You looked down, reaching into the pocket of your dress to pull out a small cake, clumsily decorated with a smiley face and small shapes. It was the result of your first time baking when a maid for one of the nobles you worked for had taught you how to make one.

"This...this is all I have."

You were ashamed, here you were presenting a rather ugly cake to a boy who had everything. But he didn't reject it or complain, instead he smiled, grabbed the treat, and broke it in half with his hands, offering you one of the parts. "It's not fair for me to take it all if you only have one."

Together you two ate and enjoyed the dessert, beginning to get to know each other over the hours he spend by your hammock. When he asked about his current state he avoided the answer like the plague. The only bit of information he gave you was that he had been locked out of his home due to the maid's not realizing he was missing.

He spent that night with you, sharing the hammock together as you tried to fight the cold. In the morning he left without a word, and you expected him to forget meeting you and move on. But that was not the case, the young noble was almost annoying with how frequently he visited you.

"Angel!" He'd call you, after hearing his maid say that whoever had taken care of him on the night he was locked out must have been an angel sent straight from heaven.

"Angel look! I found this really cool necklace in one of my Mom's boxes."

Surprisingly, the Lord's son was no spoiled brat, in fact as you got to know him he was rather pleasing, always doing the most to make you smile. Although, no one could deny that he was bathed in riches. You even had to explain to him the simplest of things like wheat fields since he had never been near one up close.

"Huh? Put that back she might get angry!"

"No way, she had enough. Do you think it will be enough to buy ingredients? I really want a cookie from you."

Without fail he would ask you for some sort of treat, claiming he became hooked on your baking from the start. In return, he would always bring you gifts, flowers from his private garden, a fancy stone from one of the tables, sometimes even a bag of coins if he was lucky enough to take it without being noticed.

"'s more than enough but I don't think we should be doing this.."

"Please? I'll do anything, Angel. I really, really want one."

You two had many adventures together, playing as heroes saving the kingdom in the fields, and splashing each other in the lake. The lord's son has never been known to be a trouble maker, but with you, he seemed to always want to break free.

"Oh..okay, fine. But promise me you'll take the extra money back to your mom!"

"Fine, fine." That day he had lied, instead of sneaking it into your pocket.

Your friendship had gone on for several months until your ninth birthday when he had promised to give you the best gift he could find. You had waited for him by the hammock all day, but he had never shown up.  Just as you were about to fall asleep after angrily preparing your speech to him about lying, the village suddenly came to life with news about the young lord.

What came next was news that the Lord’s only child had been massacred by a witch who was hanged two days later, as well as three large bags of jewelry piled up next to your head when you had woken up the next morning.

"You're the best, I can't wait after wanna play in the field?"

"Sure, but this time I wanna be the princess!"

"Okay, but will I be?"

"You're obviously the hideous monster, you don't even need a costume for that one."

"You're so mean to me!"

"Hey, nobody told you to give me the nickname Angel."

|♡|-----|♡|

Your eyes slowly opened, sighing at the soft warm glow of a candle and the gentle scent of lavender that made your body melt into the soft cushion beneath you.

Wincing as you tried to turn to look at your surroundings, head throbbing painfully as you recalled the events that had led up to this, but the memory that had just played only distracted you from that goal. You had often thought about him, grateful for everything he had done for you.

He was your best friend, someone who was kind and enjoyable despite who he grew up around. Not only had he helped you discover your passion, had his gift afforded you a place to call home and a start to your business, but he had provided you company in your darkest times. He was simply a miracle whose life had ended too soon.

Once you had gained your bearings you sat up slowly, groaning as your body only continued to ache. You much have hit yourself hard when you fainted. It seemed like you were in a rather cozy-looking bedroom, wood tones and carvings making up the walls with minimal decorating. All the furniture looked handmade and well crafted, made out of solid oak and pine.

Whoever lived here was certainly the handyman.

On the bedside next to you was a dented metal cup filled with water which you quickly drank without thinking, your throat feeling as if it would rip apart if you tried to talk from how dry it was.

When you reached to wipe your mouth a twinge of light shone in the corner of your eye. Your head snapped in the direction from where it came from finding what looked like a small leather hunting bag with the tip of a knife sticking out.

Perfect.

You abandoned the warmth of the bed to grab the weapon, dumping out the remains of the bag, and only after deeming there wasn’t anything else useful in it did you turn to look at the door in the room. It was almost mocking you, daring you to leave the room and face whatever took you. You weren’t quite sure if you were brave enough to face that challenge.

But that question was never answered as instead the beast was sent to you. The door opened softly, revealing a rather large man carefully walking with a small tray of food in his hands trying not to spill its contents.

Your body tensed, holding the knife up threateningly although you failed miserably from how bad your hands were shaking. The man paused, quickly placing the tray of food onto a nearby table to be able to hold up his hands, trying to show you he was no threat.

“Woah woah, wait for a second, put the knife down, Y/N.” The man tried to reason, craning his neck to look into his eyes but you refused, instead of watching his hands in case he suddenly tried to grab you.

“Who the fuck are you? Where am I?” Voice straining from the stress you were under as your fight or flight senses seemed to kick in. You had never experienced such anger or confidence before this very moment. You felt like if necessary you were prepared to kill to save yourself.

“Y/N you know me, I promise I’m not trying to hurt you,” the man pleaded. “Look me in my eyes, tell me you don’t know who I am.”

And you listened, you didn’t know why you chose to finally look at his face, but what you had seen surprised you. You had expected some grungy, rather ugly beast-monster who lived alone in his secluded cabin, never seeing the light of day.

But instead, what you found was the complete opposite. He was tan, slight freckles adorning the sides of his cheeks that were hidden behind the loose strands of messy brown hair that fell onto his face. His pink lips were frowning, revealing creases in his skin and two sharp fangs peaked out of his mouth. Slowly you made your way up to his crooked nose, taking note of his clear skin with no blemishes. Finally, you landed on his eyes, just below two thick scrunched eyebrows creating a rather concerned face.

His eyes, the same ones that had hunted you down yesterday in the forest, hauntingly beautiful shade of grey, pupils large and focused, seemingly swallowing you whole. However, not only did you recognize those eyes in the form of a hairy beast, but you also recognized them from the dream you had minutes ago, eyes you never thought you would see again.

“Cassius?” Cassius Chloros, son of Lord Chloros, the boy who was brutally murdered by a wicked woman who sacrificed him to Satan.

“You fucking god it, Angel.”

Description: You had lived a quiet life in your village, scraping by without drawing too much attention on yourself, but it would see that wasn’t enough. This year, you had been chosen to be sacrificed to The Beast, a large, canine-like monster that had been terrorizing your village to the point that the only thing that calmed it was the sacrifice of a human female. Just how do you plan to survive?

“Five loaves of bread, sweetie, and make it quick.” The man in front of me asked, tapping the gold coin he intended to pay with on the counter. He wore chipped iron armor with the crest of the kingdom symbolizing his status as a knight, the salary of which allowed him to buy what most villagers could only afford a crumb of.

“I’m sorry Sir, but due to the shortage of maidens to tend to the wheat we have put a cap of two loaves per family to purchase.” You smiled sweetly at the man who did not share the same energy.

“I’m a knight, I have to keep my appetite up to protect sweet little things like you, not like there's many of you left. I have enough money, and I might give you a generous tip if you offer something more...personal,” He chuckles, pushing the gold coin in his hand towards me as if to emphasize his suggestive comment. “So why don’t you bag up those loaves and I’ll be on my way? Unless of course, you would like to take my offer?”

A wave of anxiety washed over you. You seemed to freeze, no snarky comeback to snap, no act of self-defense, nothing. You simply nodded and rushed to get him the bread. Your head filled with thoughts of your cowardice, but what could you do? Your whole life was closed off and quiet, never standing out from the crowd. And in a way, it benefitted you.

Five years ago The Beast had arrived at your village, rampaging everything in its path. Your small village tried to fight back, but in the end, succumbed to the claws of the large creature. The Beast had agreed to leave your village in peace as long as he was able to see every woman that resided in the village.

You had no friends or family to report you thankfully, so you hid away until everything blew over, worried for your safety. It seemed being invisible had some benefits.

Women of all shapes and sizes, young and old, lined up for The Beast to inspect them, but it had seemed it had not found what it was looking for because it turned every one of them down. You had heard, in a fit of rage, that it had killed three people before stealing one of the girls into the woods.

The Beast later came back with only the girl's head and demanded the village supplied him with a new woman once a month to maintain peace. Your village, weak from the previous battles, agreed without hesitation.

With time, your village had no maidens left. It started with the poor, young daughters who were sent off, and then the poor mothers, and then the woman of the richer families. Eventually, every disposable girl had either ran away or was killed by the cruel beast. This resulted in a decrease in birth rates and supplies, making necessities such as food impossible to purchase, which proved to be rather difficult for a baker like yourself.

It also resulted in the men becoming increasingly desperate for wives, sex, and woman to sacrifice to The Beast. Who knows, maybe just letting the knight get his way will save you from being noticed, maybe you can continue to be free a little longer.

“Here you are sir..,” You mumbled, nervous to look him in the eye.

Satisfied with your compliance, he nodded and tossed the coin at you. Just as he was about to walk through the door he paused.

“Say, sweetie? Are you registered?”

You held your breath.

“Y’know, for The Taking. I mean... you are not a noble’s daughter, so you don’t have protection. Plus, your fuckin’ gorgeous, the perfect candidate.”

You didn’t know what to say. You felt like crying and your heart was racing a million miles a minute. In all honesty, you were probably going to puke. You didn’t want to die. Not yet. Before you could beg for him not to report you, he was already out the door.

A breath you didn’t know you were holding was released and you nearly fell over the counter in an attempt to lock the front door as quickly as possible. You had to leave, at least for a couple of days until things calmed down and you could blend in with the crowd again.

As you were packing as much baked goods and water into your satchel, you realized that time may never come. By the time you returned, you would stick out like a sore thumb. A lower-class woman in a sea of men. your only chance of survival was to marry a noble or to leave.

Neither seemed to be a good choice.

“Don’t think about that now.” You whispered to yourself, buckling the satchel and unlocking the door to begin your journey. The first step was to get to safety.

But it would seem you were too late. Outside of your bakery was the knight, loaves of bread neatly packaged in a bag still in his hand, along with a nobleman and another knight.

“There she is, I told you. She’s perfect.” The knight you had served said, smirking as the noble handed him a bag full of what you assumed were gold coins.

Panic filling your body, you attempted to make a run for the forest but it would seem the men already had a plan. One of the knights drew his sword to cut your leg as you were running past him, causing you to come crashing to the ground holding your limb. The cut was deep and long, running from your ankle to your knee. It burned terribly.

“Like that baby? I rubbed salt on it just for you.” The knight cooed, gesturing to his sword before grabbing your injured leg and digging his nails into it to pull you towards him. He picked you up grinning.

“Stop it! Get the hell off of me!” You spat in his face, throwing your arms in an attempt for him to lose his grip but that only resulted in a punch being thrown at you. Your vision blurred and you felt a glowing red sting on your cheek, slight cuts developing from where his rings landed on your face.

The knight then grabbed your hair, pulling your head slightly to look him in the eye. The fire in his expression had you pausing. “Listen here, girl. Now, you're going into that forest with that beast whether you like it or not. And I was going to let you keep this,” He held up your satchel to your face. “But if you keep acting like a bitch, I promise you won’t even be able to attempt to run away from that monster with both your legs broken.”

His words made you break. You sobbed, barely holding onto consciousness from both the punch and how hard you cried. It was hopeless, you had spent your life alone to try to avoid this fate but it had seemed to catch up to you in the end. No one would remember you when you were gone.

The knights and the noble took you to the edge of the forest. Tonight had been the last night of the month which was probably why they were so quick to snatch you. You were their last chance to appease the beast.

The nobleman let out a wide grin, his pure delight obvious on his pig face. “Beast! Please accept our humblest apologies for the offering being made so late, but we have an extra special one this month! She is young and beautiful, I’m sure you will love her.” The nobleman continued to yell out all sorts of praises to make you seem more valuable like you were a cow being sold at a farmers market. Nothing but a piece of meat.

The knights let you down in front of a large oak tree. You were barely standing on your own due to being so light-headed, so one of the knights held you up by your hair to keep you straight.

“Stand up girl, we need to tie you up correctly.” He smirked, handing you your satchel letting out a snicker, and mumbling something along with the likes of ‘just as I promised'.

Just the feeling of the thick rope made you flinch and let out another cry. The whole time you had been trying to convince yourself that this was all a nightmare but the rough, prickly texture of the rope stained with the blood of past victims caused you to come crashing back to Earth.

“Please no! Please don't do this!”

Just before the night could tie you, a loud, thunderous growl shook through the forest. Quickly you dropped to your knees and covered your head as a means of defense, not daring to look up. You didn’t want to look into the eyes of the creature that you would meet your demise.

“Beast please! Calm down we are not late, she is right there!” The nobleman screamed in terror. Loud crashing could be heard as the knights quickly ran in the direction of the nobleman and the sound of metal bounced off the trees.

‘They had drawn their swords?’ You questioned, slowly beginning to crawl away to not draw attention, your injured leg making little room for other means of movement. ‘Don’t look back, just go!’

Screams and cries could be heard as well as the terrifying snarls. The noise quickly ended with the gurgle-like choking of the men and the smell of metal filling the air. The Beast had won.

Once you felt like the distance you had crawled was far enough you quickly stood up despite the excruciating sensation in your lower muscles and sprinted as fast as you could with your injury, satchel waving widely in the air. ‘Don’t look back!’

But it seemed the temptation got the best of you.

Behind you was one of the most beautiful sights you had ever seen. A pair of striking sterling blue eyes stared back, completely focused on your manner. It had seemed the beast was analyzing your soul with the way it locked onto you, drinking every detail of your body.

The eyes belonged to an absolutely enormous canine-like creature, standing proudly with its head reaching just below your collar bone, paws bigger than your own hands. Its body was covered in thick dark grey fur, buffy white facial markings outlining its chest, snout (its white color now lost after being stained with the blood of the horrid men who had stolen you), and expressive brows which scrunched slightly.

The creature was almost certainly a wolf if it wasn't for the massive size, large protruding fangs, and bulging muscles that seemed to be way too broad for a normal animal. Not to mention the fact its eyes held a human-like expression of longing.

You had run for merely thirty seconds before the wolf abandoned his kill and tackled you to the ground leaving you landing face-first on the forest floor. The wolf’s massive paws crushed your shoulders to the point you let out a shriek are you fell.

You began squirming and yelling, hoping it would be enough to scare it off. After all, most animals were more scared of you than you were of them, right? If that was true, this gigantic dog would be pissing its pants.

“W-wait..,” You panted heavily, you wasted too much energy trying to escape the knights, and now with the wolf crushing your lungs and preventing airflow, you were left weak.

You had expected a quick death, maybe a single bite to your head or neck, but not the wolf pressing its cold wet nose into the crevice of your neck and inhaling deeply. You remained quiet, listening as the wolf let out short huffing noises.

Deciding to test your limits, you wiggled your shoulders slightly, causing the wolf to pull its massive head back an inch but not make any sounds of aggression like you were expecting. Very slowly, throughout what felt like forever, you were able to free yourself from the creature's pressure and sit up facing it, however, one of its giant paws remained on your injured leg.

The wolf ducked its head down lightly and stuck out its tongue, as if to show you it was not going to hurt you, before liking the trail of blood that had pooled from the deep gash you had earned. You let out a gasp as your cut right before your eyes began to scab over from the touch of the beast's soft tongue.

The wolf seemed to stair you down, both perplexed and infatuated with you. You didn’t know how to carry on from here.

“Just what are you?”

The wolf seemed to look around ashamed, licking its lips to get the last of the blood that remained, both from your leg and the men. That's right, how could you forget? the wolf made it easy to forget how dangerous and terrifying it was five seconds ago with how docile it acted now.

You were grateful for this moment of silence, using it to take notice of your surroundings and calm the rapid beat in your chest. The mist of the forest calmed your hot cheeks and irritated skin and the strong smell of pine soothed your raw throat. You took big gulps of the cold, refreshing air.

Suddenly you realized you still had your satchel containing the food you had packed. You didn’t know what was going to happen in these next few hours, so you decided to find some comfort in the treats.

Looking inside the bag you saw that most of the food was destroyed from all the running and tackling, however one was still good enough to eat, a single raspberry danish you had made fresh this morning.

You took a single bite and let out a sigh of contentment as the flavors melt on your tongue. Your gaze lifted back to the wolf who looked at you curiously, head titled with one ear pointed out. “You want one?” You asked softly.

Quickly you raked your brain trying to figure out if the danish had contained anything harmful to the creature, which you later realized was a dumb move considering it would have benefited you if it were to drop dead. You broke off a piece of the sweet, holding your hand out to the beast. “You’re very lucky I didn’t drizzle chocolate on it,” you chuckled at your remark, which the beast instantly perked up and began to thump its tail rapidly on the ground at the sound.

It seemed to like you.

“Come here, Wolfie. It’s okay, you can take it.” You affirmed, watching in awe as it cautiously opened its mouth to bite the sweet before retracting back and smacking its lips. Its tail wagging only seemed to increase tenfold.

At that moment you were no longer afraid of the beast, but rather a burning curiosity had been ignited. You wondered what this creature's intentions were? Where had it come from? Why on Earth was it terrorizing your village? But your questions were put aside when you jumped from a sudden voice, deep and raspy, sounding as if it had surrounded you from all angles.

“Thank you...”

Hiélo Garoh

Hiélo Garoh

Yes, I made him furry. He has a bestial form too, but I don't want to draw it (lazyyyy), so you can imagine a green wolf.

I know I posted a drawing of him before, but it was annoying me that he was technically a lot-haired man with a dog nose, tail, and ears on top of his head.

And I was watching YouTube (that’s why they say you should be careful with what you watch), and I saw a video of a person making furries commissions. And it was cute and cool at the same time, perfect for Hiélo.

It was my first time drawing furry, so I struggled a bit with the face shape, but I guess I got it the way I wanted. The shoes are a bit odd because I was lazy and didn’t look for references. And can you see how SMOOTH his fur is? Like, I understand Kenyan now. He's like a walking blanket for her.

Day 10 - Claws Werewolves, Also Known As The Lycanthropes, Originate All The Way Back To Ancient Greece

Day 10 - Claws Werewolves, also known as the Lycanthropes, originate all the way back to ancient Greece and Rome philosphy texts and poems. Then in Middle Ages, 1500s there are tails of the more popular/recognised werewolves as hostile devils who devour human flesh, supposedly there were outbreaks and reports of people being and accused and executed during this time. Nowadays, I think many people wish they could be one.
