(aughhh…ok. Here’s some of the writing I did on hiatus, sorry that it kinda throws you into it suddenly, im just writing small little bits and parts as I rewrite the entirety of totk 😃 anyhow the perspective is Link, he’s just traveling to Mipha Court. Literally that’s it- I barely remember my exact experience doing this because it was like…months ago and my memory does not serve me correctly. apologies :)
Word Count: 417 (I promise I write more than this-)
Lady Yona told me to go to Mipha Court… Link thought as he continued his walk, minding the sludge that littered the ground as the nutrient eating parasite that it is. The Hero was worried about the water pollution that he overheard some of the Zora speaking of as well, and it stayed on his mind—though his thoughts were cut short as an arrow flew by his head.
Immediately, Link was on guard, holding up his traveler's shield as another arrow flew by, sinking into the wood with a hint of pressure and an audible thunk. With a quick huff, Link makes the quick decision to flee, hoisting his shield on his back once more, breaking into a sprint. He clumsily scrambles past the large blotches of sludge on the grass, more focused on avoiding arrows.
Link is able to get out of the line of sight of the enemy, whatever it was, but not without falling face first into a pile of sludge. He immediately props himself back up, the foul smelling substance getting stuck on his clothes, though it was much less than he expected. He wipes the excess sludge off of him as best he can, and by the texture, he can take a guess that it’s made to latch onto small crevices, like the small area between scales. Something else the Hero picked up on, is how it drained him of energy the same way Gloom did.
Link’s expression shifts to worry as he catches his breath, worried for the Zora, but also mad at himself for not noticing sooner. The sludge was the Zora version of Gloom. He could almost hear the voice of Mipha scolding him for being so hard on himself though, and Link suddenly remembered what he was doing in the first place.
With a renewed sense of urgency, Link continues trekking to Mipha Court. He was already a little nervous about showing up, he didn’t quite know what to expect. With a deep breath though, he arrives, and his eyes widen slightly. He saw sludge being purified…by none other than the Zora Prince, and his best friend, Sidon.
Link was only able to take a few steps towards the Zora, before he had heard him approaching. Immediately the prince’s eyes seemed to smile along with him as he saw the hero.
“Link, my friend! It’s amazing to see you! I’m so glad you’re alive!” Link was immediately taken into a warm albeit a bit tight of a hug.
In Age of Calamity one of Sidon’s attacks has him turn into a holographic hammerhead shark. That kinda got me wondering if his sister can do that too.
Really quick comic and just an excuse to paint some Zora’s Domain landscape.
Tbh I would love to see a Zelda game where the main group in charge ISN'T the Hyrule royal family. Like, how cool would a game be if the Zora royal family or Gerudo, or maybe even Rito was centered, because I mostly feel like all of the races' leaders (mostly pre calamity) are just puppeted by the Hylian royal family - and be damned if they do ANYTHING that could be seen as a threat against the hylian royal family.
I get that they're all united under Hyrule, however that doesn't stop me from feeling like there's no point in having the leaders of all the races if they're all united under HYRULE (it's OWN kingdom). Kind of like having the biggest kid on the playground coming up to you and telling you that you're part of his group now and how he's your friend, however, when the time comes to have your own autonomy after him micromanaging your actions, he just interprets it as being a threat.
Especially since (at least in botw/pre calamity) neither the elders of the Sheikah, Goron or Rito, the Gerudo chief, or even the royal Zora family have much authority over the other races as the Hylian royal family does.
I desperately need someone to take my spine apart and put it back in place like rebuilding a failed Lego 1x1 skyscraper/sword please this is a cry for help
I, personally, would KILL for this bed. I would strike down calamity ganon himself.
That's it
