Neil isn’t an unreliable narrator, he just fails to bring up details he doesn’t find important
Send help my new neighbour is called Nathaniel and all I can think of is Nathaniel Wesninski
What bubble tea flavours I think The Sunshine Court crew would get:
Laila - something fruity like strawberry or mango - with popping bubbles instead of the actual tapioca pearls
Cat - one of the milk teas - she’d insist on getting a large and finishing it and then regret it later
Jeremy - whatever sounded the most wild, like my local bubble tea place does a strawberry cheesecake bubble tea and I can see him trying that
Jean - nothing - he just stares at them all with disgust
I wonder what Kevin’s response to a bunch of the Ravens killing themselves during The Sunshine Court was. Like did he care or was he like ‘good fucking riddance’?
Jean isn’t wrong for feeling angry at and jealous of Kevin getting out of the abusive situation they were both in but Kevin isn’t wrong for being in such a stressful situation and having to make a quick decision which results in him leaving Jean behind
I love the idea of Kevin Day doing a reality show for PR reasons. Like imagine him on Big Brother. What about Strictly Come Dancing? Him on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here would change lives. The idea of him doing Masked Singer makes me laugh so much. And I’d pay to see him do Dancing on Ice, because I do not think he would be very good at all. Him doing Traitors would be so funny. Just imagine Kevin Day in the middle of a random British reality tv show please
Do you ever think about the fact that Andrew was in the car with Tilda when she died and was willing to die as well to keep Aaron safe or are you normal?
“He should’ve been at the club.” He was at the club. He drugged multiple people at the club to get information out of them.
I genuinely quote the ‘You know, I get it’ speech on the daily- I feel like this is becoming a problem
I love that every throuple ship with Kevin in is just made by taking a couple that are actually together in the books and shoving Kevin in the middle
There is so much we learn about Renee that I wish we got in the original trilogy because it makes her so much more iconic!! Like what do you mean she has a huge back tattoo of angel wings? What do mean she stuck her hand out the window in a peace sign as she drove away from Evermore with Jean? What do you mean broke a man’s nose with the Bible?
Why do I feel like nobody else is as on board with Zane Reacher hate as I am
I can ship Kevin Day with anyone and everyone and I just genuinely don’t have a preference. Neil. Andrew. Neil and Andrew at the same time. Jeremy. Jean. Jeremy and Jean at the same time. Neil, Andrew, Jeremy and Jean at the same time. Allison. Aaron. Aaron and Katelyn at the same time. And I just have no preference for any of these. I’m not picky, I’ll take what I can get.
Allison having a trans kid in the extra content literally changed my life
Every so often I just search Kevallison just to feel something
Literally my reaction every time Kevin interacts with a man
If Jean was a chess piece, he’d be a pawn. Not because of the expected reasons like the fact that he has been used as one for years, but because it’s the only piece that can make itself something better when it reaches the end of the board. The Ravens held him back for years, doing everything in their power to make sure he didn’t make it to the other end of the board, to make sure he didn’t see what he could really be. But with the Trojans, they don’t tear him down, they lift him up. And he makes it to the end of the chessboard. I don’t know what other piece he’d become but a pawn has a chance to better itself and move on from its role. A king is a king and a queen is a queen but a pawn could be anything.
I started looking into Kerejeandreil as a joke… it’s not a joke anymore
I feel like the height difference between Jeremy and Jean is always so exaggerated - it’s literally only four inches, Jean says so himself
I can’t express how much I’d rather die than see Zane Reacher have a redemption arc
Nora saying that Riko burned the number seven onto Andrew in a universe where Andrew becomes a Raven haunts me. What does it mean? Was it as a punishment for Riko catching Andrew smoking cigarettes? Was it just because of Andrew generally not cooperating? Where did he burn the number onto him? Because there is no way it could’ve been on the cheek where the perfect court tattoos are because that would a thousand percent cause an investigation into the Ravens. He must’ve burned it onto Andrew somewhere that was hidden by their gear. Maybe his back? Or possibly onto his wrists on top of his past self-harm scars? And don’t even get me started on the parallels between this and Neil being burned by a dashboard lighter by Lola and his dad’s men in the book.
Neil asked Andrew to stop cracker dust so he just didn’t get any for anyone - he really said if I’m missing out so are the rest of you
I need to know more about Raven Andrew!! He haunts my narrative.
How would he have coped in the Nest? Assuming he was medicated at the time he joined the Ravens, I assume he wouldn’t have taken it all that seriously. He would’ve had to have it beat into him by Riko and Tetsuji, but I can’t see any of it actually sticking with him until Riko and Tetsuji start hurting other for his mistakes or misgivings. Watching people like Nathaniel (Neil), Jean or Kevin have to suffer for what he was doing would’ve messed with Andrew since, as we see in the series, he just wants to protect everyone around him, but what would his reaction to that have been?
Joining the Ravens would have fucked up his relationship with Aaron and Nicky beyond repair. There is no way Riko and Tetsuji would’ve let him communicate with them (maybe holding it over his head as a punishment for him acting out??) and he would’ve just have to live with not knowing how they were doing. For years, he didn’t know Aaron and Nicky existed and then, finally, he learnt about them and he had them, and their relationships were by no means perfect or even anywhere close to perfect but he knew they existed. I think having Aaron and Nicky for him so late in life only to have them torn away again would’ve messed with him.
In the series, while on his medication during the first two books, Andrew comes off of his medication for their games. Would he be able to do this at the Nest for games? Would his medication be withheld from him at other time, perhaps another punishment for acting out? If he was acting out, would Riko and Tetsuji have kept his medication from him, to see him have to go through those awful withdrawal symptoms? How long could Andrew have gone without his medication until he caved and did whatever they wanted him to do as long as he got his medication back? He hates his medications of course but the withdrawal symptoms are worse.
And one final thing, even if it’s not a behavioural thing, I want to talk about the numbers. Nora said if Andrew was a Raven he would’ve been number seven. It’s such a symbolic number for him. Seven as in the age he was the first time he was assaulted. Seven as in the age where he had to say the word ‘please’ so much, possibly reflecting how his time with the Ravens would’ve went. Then of course we have the way all the numbers add up. Andrew’s Raven number (7) and Andrew’s Fox number (3) would add up to make Neil’s Fox number (10). Andrew’s Raven number (7) and Nathaniel’s Raven number (3) add up to also make Neil’s Fox number (10). Even in universes where they don’t end up together, the traces of what could’ve been (and what was in the universe that we got in the books) still find their way into the story.
I just need more information about Raven Andrew and I don’t know what I’m meant to do to get it!!
Wylan Van Eck, Adam Parrish and Neil Josten are like the holy trinity of characters with daddy issues
Just found this in my drafts and what the fuck?? Did I do this just to hurt myself??
Sometimes I am normal and other times I remember that the Foxes have a picture wall
The scene where Aaron kills Drake with an Exy racket shows what would’ve happened to Neil after the finals match if Andrew hadn’t intercepted Riko’s racket
I don’t understand people who hate Kevin because he’s a diva, that’s part of his charm
The fact that Andrew can say that what’s happening between him and Neil is nothing and then throw himself out of goal like all of hell was at his heels when Neil is in danger is wild
