You felt that this entire night had been useless. You hated parties. You hated bars. You hated loud noises. You hated drinking.

No, it was more like you hated how out of place you felt at events like these; how everybody else enjoyed themselves, laughing and dancing, when you couldn’t.

Your friends were long gone at this point. They had dressed you up, spent hours on your makeup and hair. Several days were spent trying to find a dress that suited you. And then, once you spotted him in the club, your friends knew you were ready to go to him. They all left, wishing you good luck, knowing that this was the perfect moment when you could finally talk to him. It was a good plan, and you felt prepared to go through with it.
