if you're struggling to connect paragraphs, or if something doesn't feel right, or there is something that is bothering you about the way the story doesn't seem to be aligning - READ IT OUT LOUD!!!

read the entire paragraph. over and over. hell, read the whole draft, from the first page to the page you're stuck at. until you figure out what you want to happen in the paragraph, how you want it to happen, and how to word it. honest to god, it has been such a helpful little thing for me.

it also is extremely useful if the narrator has an accent or an eccentric way of speaking.

i hate it when ppl say "you should talk more" because it sounds to me like "your natural state of being is strange and annoying tf out of me so do something about it". i get it, talking helps me make more friends and make me seem amiable but literally why are you so bothered about it that you felt the need to tell me??? me not talking doesnt do anything to you???

kenma and kuroo have been bestfriends since childhood

kuroo has an ugly ass laugh

he also is someone who likes to joke around

so imagine

little kuroo and little kenmar are playing video games or volleyball

and whenever kenma would make a stupid mistake and die in games (cuz lets be honest, he wasn't born out of the womb as a professional gamer) or when he can't receive properly and gets hit in the face

kuroo laughs at him

that horrible fucking laugh that sounds like drugged mule

this went on for all their lives

kenma makes a mistake, kuroo laughs at him

so it wouldn't be surprising if kenma could perfectly execute kuroo's laugh

like imagine kenma doing an impression of kuroo's laugh to hinata

his voice would be lighter than kuroos but the impersonation is so good that it scares kuroo when he calls for kenma but instead hear his own flipping laugh

pls he's such a softie. this just speaks to how sweet he rlly is, he couldve easily ignored the kids but he didnt. he tried to help them calm down and stop crying. he views himself as useless even though the steps he took would say otherwise. sure he might not have been successful in trying to get the kids to stop crying but the thing that matters is he tried to make the situation better.

thats better than just standing around and witnessing a kid getting lost from their parents.

he's naturally this kind and caring.
