Listen listen listen. The absolute POTENTIAL of Alejandro “only competent person on my team so now I’m stuck babysitting these idiots” Burromuerto during WT deserves some headcannons.

*picture this evil manipulative mastermind genuinely carrying around a first aid kit all season because Tyler is physically incapable of going five minutes without severely injuring himself and Alejandro just keeps giving him bandaids and sighing because ‘seriously chico?’ But he still patches him up no matter how many times it happens because he wants his teammates in “peak condition!” Lmao (it never really helps for long but Alejandro lies to himself and no one has the heart to tell him)

Then he also starts pocketing snacks to have on him at all times just in case because he hates the sound of Owens stomach rumbling, and also Alejandro gets hissy when Owen says pretty much anything, so he just starts throwing a bag of chips in Owens direction whenever he starts to open his mouth or do anything else to annoy him as a distraction (had about a 30% success rate)

He constantly had to steer Noah from running into anything because the nerd has this habit of reading while walking which he refuses to stop and insists he is actually watching where he’s going- but by the second day Alejandro had watched him nearly walk out of that one hole in the plane while 12,000 feet in the air, COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS, and so he started just dragging Noah by the scuff of his collar like a kitten whenever he’s standing with his nose in the book lmao (Noah could not care less and Alejandro finds that infuriating)

Izzy is obviously concerning but Alejandro just looked at her and figured : y’know what? She’s more likely to injure someone else than herself’ and he was right she is canonically a menace to society but also started a game or dare or dare within Team Chris at the very beginning of the season that all besides Alejandro are participating in, and IT GOT CRAZY. Alejandro saved all of their lives from their stupid decisions at least four times each but zero appreciation because “you’re interfering with the game, man”

So by the time Duncan shows up Alejandro is just in full mama bird mode and all Duncan is thinking about is ; this is that same suave cool guy who had all the girls swooning back in Egypt. That same guy now has Owen on a child’s leash and is wrapping Tyler in bubble wrap and wants me to vote out a scrawny twerp because he’s genuinely furious he got called a slimy eel.

that post about BCS appealing more to women made me think, and it's interesting that Walter and Jimmy are both cringefail pathetic, and don't get me wrong Walter's whole self justifying toxic macho thing is fascinating, but Jimmy is almost more... accessibly pathetic? he's emotional, got big sad blue eyes, wanted his brother to like him, lbr a total bottom with Kim, and even the vanity is treated more sympathetic than in Breaking Bad where it was essentially flamboyance helps with the sleaze. This isn't even me saying he's better than Walter, there's a whole laundry list of flaws, it's just amusing that I can't think of anyone calling Heisenberg their pathetic bb girl

editing this to say i was writing back to you last night and didn't have time to finish it, so i saved this as a draft, and now i'm like 100000x more deranged about the contrasts between jimmy and walt than i was before, because jimmy was PREPARED TO DIE FOR HIS WIFE. walt presses on with his, "everything i do, i do for my family" (despite us knowing this becomes a falsehood of an excuse), but the pure act of selfless love jimmy exhibited for kim is true.

it definitely comes down to endearment - walt is a fascinating character, but innately unlikable from the start, whereas jimmy is lovable. walt's pathetic qualities curdle into cruelty and control, he's not cringefail in a way where we want to bring him in from the rain in a cardboard box lol but there's something about jimmy, some spark of heart or goodness, where we want better for him even though we KNOW where he's headed. accessible is a great word for it, there's something in him that we get, even when his actions are immoral or destructive.

i'm trying to remember if i just wrote about this recently or if i only thought about it in my head...there's a scene in salud when flynn comes over to see walt, and it's his birthday, and walt and jesse have just gotten into an ugly, brutal fight. walt is beat up and miserable and completely out of it, and accidentally calls flynn "jesse," and then the next day when he's a bit more clear, he talks about his experience seeing his father sick when he was a child. it's an amazing, haunting scene and i don't think it gets talked about enough. bryan's performance gets praised for the big meme moments - the "i am the one who knocks" speech, "you're goddamn right," "i suggest you tread lightly," even the breakdown in crawl space, but the monologue he has in salud is one of my favorite bits of his acting in the entire show. he's quiet. he's introspective. and he talks about these terrible memories of seeing his father wasting away from illness, the caustic smell of the hospital chemicals, the sound of his breath rattling like an empty spray paint can. and he tells flynn this formative memory, this huge, revealing part of himself, and it speaks so deeply to the response he's had to his cancer, his fear of his illness, his loathing of looking weak. his father wasn't there to, as gus once said, provide. he only remembers being afraid and seeing frailty. it's just a gutwrenchingly human scene. he says to his son that he doesn't want him to remember him like that. but then flynn says, "remembering you that way wouldn't be so bad. the bad way to remember you would be the way you've been this whole last year. at least last night you were...you were real." it's heartbreaking because all he WANTS is for his dad to let him in and be honest with him, even if that means ugly crying. the emotional vulnerability matters. but walt just...seals back up. walt cannot abide being seen in weakness. and that hubris destroys everything. the narrative knows walt is pathetic, but walt cannot face that himself.

by design, bcs recognizes jimmy's more pathetic qualities, but never needs the veneer of the power or masculinity. even when jimmy tries posturing, it's ineffective. the narrative knows, but SO DOES JIMMY. the "lightning bolts shoot from my fingertips!" scene has howard walking angrily away from him with zero reactions, and ends with jimmy panting and defeated because he's aware he was lashing out in guilt and fear after having to defend lalo, after seeing grieving family members in court. when jimmy gets mad at kim and kim says, "jimmy, you are always down," he doesn't respond with a counterargument, he just sort of collapses inwardly, and starts packing his things (in his metaphorical little rucksack) until she comes to him and softens and offers support. it's not bad to see jimmy weak or very emotional or afraid or frustrated or downtrodden because it's REAL. and we can empathize with those flaws when they're honest.

heisenberg and saul goodman are both grandiose personas, but used for very different reasons and ends. they're both their worst selves writ large, but where heisenberg feels like an extension of walt's obsessive ego, saul, even in his scumminess and vanity, is a shroud for the vulnerability of jimmy's heart - and because we know that exists in him, we respond to his faults more compassionately. in fandom parlance, jimmy's meow meowness, his lovable qualities, are possible because of that genuineness we've felt. we know he can do better, we wish he would. walt's metastatic decay doesn't allow for that. it allows for such great counterpoints between the themes of both their arcs.

ace attorney is legitimately one of the funniest series out there. first game you go in fine. trial one everythings normal its exactly what you expect from a lawyer game. second trial not only does your mentor get killed but her little sister confirms that psychic powers do in fact exist and it is played completely straight for the rest of the series. fantastic.

You need to be brushing your teeth more than the average person to prevent plaque buildup, tooth decay, and gum disease.

This is because saliva production is much more active when you're awake than when you're asleep. Ever woke up with a dry mouth? That's why. Saliva protects our teeth from the acid our mouths naturally produce. Less saliva means less defense against than acid, which can break down the protective layer of tooth enamel.

So! Us chronically sleeping ppl need to be brushing our teeth more to balance out the fact that we're sleeping more.

Just a note about psychiatric hospital stays.

I think people who haven’t ever been before often misunderstand the purpose of a psychiatric hospital stay. I think people tend to think it is a place to go to get treatment, but it isn’t. 

Psychiatric hospital stays have one purpose–stabilization. They are not meant to provide long term treatment. They are meant for people in an acute crisis situation who cannot be safe on their own. They will keep you there only long enough to get you out of that crisis.

If you are looking for long term treatment and think you need a higher level of care than individual or group outpatient therapy, what you want to look for is Residential treatment. 

Inpatient (psych hospital) stays are usually between 3 and 14 days long at most. Residential stays are usually months long. Inpatient may or may not offer group therapy sessions. Residential will give you group therapy, process groups, individual therapy, psychiatry, and maybe more (like equine or art therapy). 

There are also other levels of care, such as partial hospitalization (PHP–think day program) and intensive outpatient (IOP–think lots of group therapy). 

Psych hospitals serve a very specific purpose and (although your milage may vary) are somewhat good at that one thing–keeping you physically safe in a time of crisis. But if you want actual treatment, you are probably not going to get it there. 

If you are in crisis and cannot keep yourself safe, by all means go to the ER! But if you are just desperate for longer term treatment that will help you get your life together and feel better long term, look into residential, PHP, or IOP.

SO YOU AGREE? His lashing outs are totally understandable if you put them in the right context? It’s almost like he prioritizes whoever of his loved ones is in danger/hurt.

Now, I know that y’all care about everyone else’s trauma but Mike’s but I think, I THINK, that there is a reason why a model student, classic nerdy kid starts cheating in his tests, misbehaving and vandalizing the school. It’s not like he saw the girl that he loved fucking disintegrate in front of his eyes at the age of twelve. Because it’s totally healthy for a kid to call a presumed dead girl for 353 days and no one comforts him about it.

Now, by some freaking miracle, he gets her back. But she’s not just a normal girl, she’s like Superman, she’s the one that always gets put in danger. So Mike has to live with the constant fear of losing her. It’s almost like y’all keep ignoring the broken record of:

«I can’t lose you again» - season 2!

«Because I love her, and I can’t lose her again!» - season 3 !

«El, I don’t know how to live without you. I can’t lose you.» -season 4!

This kid is traumatized by losing El. So of course he’s concerned about it when Hopper threatens him saying that he could ban him from seeing her. When the freaking government comes in and tells him that he may never see her again. On top of that, I don’t know if you guys actually heard what he was talking about with Will in the car, but his self confidence is in hell. He feels that he is undeserving of El’s love and that’s another reason of worrying over how he may lose her.

Y’all mad. Mad because these seasons it was Will receiving the short end of the stick because for once in his life he prioritizes someone that was not him. He tried to apologize to Will after their fight in s3, he apologized to Will after their argument in s4. That’s more than what he actually did in s1/2. He still asked him if everything was okay in the theater in s3, he still put a hand on his shoulder and reassured him that they’d kill Vecna without a doubt.

“But he didn’t realize Will was crying in the car.” Okay cut him some slack for once, FOR ONCE. The military wants to kill his gf and he was thinking about what Will said to him. And even if he confronted him, then Will would’ve had to lie to him, because I don’t know if you have noticed; Will was not ready to explicitly come out to his brother, you think he would’ve come out to his unrequited crush? He lied about the painting saying it was El who commissioned it for a reason.

Mike loves his friends, he loves his girlfriend. He’s a fourteen year old boy that can’t express his feelings because the last time he interacted with his family was 49292 years go, he has anger issues, abandonment trauma, and y’all act as if he’s Jason or Billy.

People love traumatized characters until they display symptoms of trauma.
