how to glow up

How To Glow Up

i have like, a million posts about glowing up but one more won't harm anyone.

1. oral health

brush your teeth 2x a day for 2 minutes. use mouthwash. and, don't let your teeth rot until your next dentist appointment.

2. daily movement

always move around. this should be obvious, but you can't just lay in your bed all day scrolling on your phone. go on a walk, do yoga, or an actual workout. but you have to move.

3. work on your confidence

some good youtubers to watch for your confidence journey are: tam kaur, thewizardliz, persephonesmind, eléonora oxa, manifestelle, lenalifts, trindingtopic, simonesquared, and sheraseven. now, don't expect to just stop caring overnight. it'll take a while, but it'll be worth it.

4. give yourself your dream wardrobe

girl, please stop wearing that shirt with a band that you don't even listen to. it's not embarrassing to wear the same thing multiple times, but sometimes it's just too much. save up your allowance to go shopping. or, get your birthday and/or xmas wishlist ready with clothes you want.

HYDRATION ;

you need to be hydrating properly. hydration not only is rly good for ur skin (keeps it plump and glowy) but its also good for ur overall body health in general (cleans out ur body). so drink lots and lots of water. plus walking around with a cute water bottle is actually such an adorable accessory and lowkey a look...

SLEEP + SKINCARE ;

sleep 8-10 hours a day and if ur feeling extra princessy sleep for 12 hours or take naps throughout the day bcuz beauty sleep is real!! and for skincare i rly rly recommend korean skincare. and ofc keep skincare SIMPLE and be consistent. plus when u dont sleep ur skin will look dull.

and a hot tip...from me to you, in the morning as soon as u wake up have a glass of lukewarm water and before bed drink a cup of spearmint/peppermint tea. also another good drink for skincare is chlorophyll. i drink a 16oz of chlorophyll a day or sometimes i'll just have a little chlorophyll shot and its good for ur skin.

MOISTURE ;

when u get out of the shower apply lotion onto slightly damp skin, not completely dry skin. also if u have, use a body oil before the body lotion. i like to use body butter (i use the coco-shea butter and it makes me glow like no OTHER) additionally we wanna protect our skin from the sun so make sure to use sunscreen on ur face and body every single day.

RADIATE ;

your most glowy and radiant when u have a smile on ur face. nothing radiates like a genuine smile. when ur energy is radiant, then you'll radiate so make sure to do things that make you happy. prioritize ur healing and ur self and you'll GLOWW.

SHIMMER ;

you can create a shimmer effect on urself by using body glitter on key points like ur collarbones. use highlighter on ur nose too <3 we shimmer not only with glitter but also jewelry. invest in cute accessorizes like bracelets, nail gems, rings etc.

SHINE ;

lets talk about ur inner health cuz that plays a huge role in looking glowy and like a goddess. take ur vitamins/supplements. i recommend collagen for hair skin and nails and other vitamins like vitamin C and E. take ur wellness shots and dont eat garbage.

This one’s my personal favourite. Simple, yet effective. A look to enhance your natural beauty. The eyebrows are very 2016, the lashes are bold, but everything else is quite toned down and simple. This look is perfect for everyday and special occasions. You can also do it without foundation to make it even more simple.

TOOLS

Powder brush

Beauty blender

Tweezers

Brow brush

STEPS

BASE

Apply primer to skin, (skincare should be done before this step) make sure primer is applied ALL OVER your face

#faithtip After applying primer, use a brush to apply baby powder to your skin

These two steps will keep your makeup intact for AGES and prevent a lot of sweating through makeup

Then apply foundation or tinted moisturiser and blend well with a beauty blender (you can skip this step to keep your makeup light)

#faithtip wet your beauty blender with setting spray for better hold and easier blending

Apply pressed powder with a powder brush and blend well with a brush

This look is quite light, so instead of under-eye concealer apply loose setting powder from under your eyes to your temples, using a beauty blender

Apply loose setting powder from the side of your lip to the side of your face, under your cheek

Leave the setting powder unblended for now

BROWS

One of the KEYS to this look is eyebrows, make sure your brows have a defined shape

Brush through your brows and shape them with brow gel

Use pomade and a small brow brush to draw a line on the bottom of your eyebrows, following the shape of your brows

Draw a line at the top of your brows following the shape of your brows again

Fill your brows in within the lines

Brush through your brows again with brow gel

After this, apply concealer under your brows

The concealer should look like you have painted an outline of your eyebrows

Blend this in with a beauty blender

Use a beauty blender to apply loose powder underneath and on top of your brows, let it sit.

LASHES

When I do this look I don’t apply lashes because I wear cluster lashes/extensions, I find it quicker and easier for me to get ready

People who wear lash extensions/clusters can also skip lash application

STRIP LASHES

But for this step apply glue to strip lashes

Wave the lashes around for a bit so the glue dries a tiny bit and feels a little bit sticky

Place them on the lash line and adjust where needed (using tweezers or fingers)

CLUSTER LASHES

Strip lashes can also be cut into smaller pieces or use cluster lashes

Dip them into glue and wipe off the excess

Use tweezers to hold the lashes

Pull the top of your eyelid upwards so you can see underneath your eyelashes

#faithtip Wipe the glue on the part you are applying to then you can dip the lash in glue again before actually placing it underneath your lash

This make the lashes more firm and secure

Make sure it is not too close to your eye as this can be irritating

Fan your eyes if you can still feel wet glue

BACK TO THE BASE

Using a powder brush, brush away/blend out the loose powder, under your eyes, under your cheeks and around your eyebrows

Blend VERY well, as the powder has been sat on your face for a while, so it will not move easily

After this, apply a gold/bronze tone highlighter on the tip of your nose, on your cheek bones, your brow bone and cupids bow

Apply in moderation and blend slightly with finger to avoid looking ashy

Now use setting spray (holding it not too close to your face) over your face 3-4 times

LIPS

Add more highlighter to cupids bow if needed

Apply Vaseline/lip balm for moisture

Apply clear lip gloss

one thing that i'm such a firm believer in, is that you have the power to close a chapter in your life and begin a new one. clearing the clutter of your life, resetting and refreshing your week and turning the page on something id like to grow from is my idea of free therapy. enjoy 🎀

DIGITAL DETOX:

take a break from social media, social media definitely has such an impact on your mind, and sometimes it's wise just to have a mini break to reset your mind and reflect. do the things that you consume online align with you? do they improve your mental health? do they give you tips? if it's not something that positively affects you, then it's probably wise to give it a break or even cut it off completely. there's no fun in feeling bad about urself, and you've got the power to change that!

CLEAN YOUR SPACE:

creating a fresh environment is a crucial part of stabilising and rebooting your life. having an untidy area literally affects you negatively in so many ways. your room reflects your mind.. clean mind = clean room. if it's overwhelming, sort it into categories, listen to your favorite playlist. it doesn't have to be a chore, make it fun.

SELF CARE:

even though self care should literally be a regular thing for you because it's so calming and definitely improves your life, it always helps to do some additional self care to relax and refresh your mind. do whatever selfcare you enjoy, personally i always keep myself hydrated, pampered with my beauty sessions - there's nothing calmer than having a bath and painting your nails, going on pinterest, meditating or having a little manifestation session.

CUT TIES:

whatevers making you so stressed and so unhappy in your life when you are the main character, needs to go. realize that when somethings upsetting you or not helping you in any way shape or form, it's time to let go. let go of old habits, the ones that are holding you back, create new ones and start fresh. build yourself from the bottom up. change your environment - if it's something like school, work or your friends, set boundaries for yourself, don't let anyone treat you less than you deserve. if a place or person drains you, explore new opportunities or distance yourself.

CREATE NEW GOALS:

additionally, cutting ties also opens a new door to create new goals for the new and improved you. what have you always wanted to do? what inspires you? do it! no ones telling you that you can't do these things but yourself, youre so so worthy of achieving your goals.

SHIFT YOUR MINDSET

i'll say it bluntly, you're a queen, no one can make you feel bad about yourself but you. affirm it, you are gorgeous, authentic, charming and so much more, you can do anything your heart desires, literally!

WHATS A REFRESH REBOOT SHOWER? ;

a refresh reboot shower are the kind of showers that u take that act like a reset button. i personally love them especially when i feel like i have so much energy pent up and i can channel it into doing something positive for myself.

ROMANTICIZE ;

something important to remember while taking a refresh reboot shower is to be PRESENT. thats what makes these showers different. instead of doing ur normal shower routine, or ur everything shower routine, this is the REFRESH REBOOT shower routine.

take time to feel the water on your skin. make sure its to the exact temperature that you like. smell the products that ur putting on ur body and bask in how yummy they smell. feel the soapy foam beneath ur fingers, wash every inch of urself HAVE FUN.

GUA SHA IN THE SHOWER ;

sculpt that beautiful face. gua sha is good for so many reasons. its good to reduce puffiness and swelling and its amazing for ur lymph nodes. do a full gua sha routine and watch how amazing u feel.

EXFOLIATION ;

exfoliation feels like (at least for me) like im shedding an old skin and revealing a new one so its a MUST for a refresh and reboot shower. so before the shower do some dry brushing for the softest skin then go in with a body scrub.

i rly recommend the tree hut scrubs or you can make your own with this simple body scrub recipe. so first off decide if ur doing a salt or a sugar scrub and i'll briefly explain the difference here.

sugar scrub ; deposits minerals into the skin, gentle exfoliation, hydrates the skin, helps draw water into the skin, less abrasive, smoothens and brightens the skin.

salt scrub ; eliminates toxins, gives a rosy glow, anti aging abilities, provides minerals vitamins and nutrients, tones and restores the skin.

to make a sugar scrub simply (1/2 cup of coconut oil + 1/2 cup of granulated sugar + 15-20 drops of essential oil of choice)...💬🎀

hot tip ; if u want to make it more scented you can even use a couple drops of a body wash along with the essential oil

to make a salt scrub simply (1 cup of sea salt + 1/4 cup of a carrier oil + 10-20 drops of essential oil of choice)...💬🎀

CHANGE UP THE SCENT ;

if u have a signature scent that you do a lot of the time, try and go for a different scent. im a hygiene junkie so i like to have a variety of different soaps to use, even though i almost always stick with the basics (smelling like a yummy cupcake) unless i want something different. changing up the scent can be refreshing so if you feel like it'll be refreshing for you, try and go for a different scent for a couple of days.

DOUBLE CLEANSE ;

if double cleansing isnt something that u do on a day to day basis then its perfect to do in ur refresh and reboot shower. wash ur body first with a bar soap (preferably something unscented or organic)

doctor bronners soaps work good too if u dont have a bar soap that u like. after using the bar soap go in with a liquid soap (ofc following the scent guide in the previous section) that way you can feel even more squeaky clean and refreshed.

So I made up this ritual/ mindset and it’s called the Princess ritual/ mindset. ☺️☺️☺️.

Here’s how it goes.

💘 First, pick out a dress or article of clothing you love, and put it on.

💘 As well, pick out something that could be your crown. I have a literal crown made from yarn that I wear, but it could be something else you hold or can wear or possibly some makeup that you put on.

💘 Okay and then while you’re wearing it, be in the Princess mindset.

💘 The Princess mindset basically means that you don’t let negativity of any kind bring you down. You don’t react to negativity. This causes you to focus more on things that make you happy/ you love.

💘 If you do react to negativity, then when you catch yourself, don’t react to it.

💘 Do activities that boost your confidence/ let you know that you are worthy/ validate to you that you are beautiful and awesome etc. like saying affirmations, journaling, taking selfies, etc.

💘 It can be hard to stay in Princess mindset sometimes, but we all make mistakes and you can try again.

💘 And that’s basically all there is to it. Don’t feed in to negativity of any kind, only focus on positivity of any kind.

💘 The Princess ritual/ mindset has been very helpful to me sometimes, like when I start getting upset.

💘 The Princess mindset is helpful all of the time to be in. The dress & crown helped me to remember that I was in it.

a magical toner for love and beauty

A Magical Toner For Love And Beauty

i love glamour magick and i've noticed such a huge difference in my appearance and love life ever since i started using it on a daily basis! you only need 3 ingredients and it's very easy to make.

all you need is;

moon water

dried rosebuds/rose petals

dried jasmine flowers

i use 10-15 rosebuds, 1 cup of moon water and 1 tablespoon of jasmine and i boil it on low heat for around 15 minutes.

when it's done just let it cool, strain it well and transfer it to a spray bottle or a jar. you can even put your own sigils on the container to make it even stronger!

i suggest making a small batch every 7-10 days and keeping it in the fridge so it doesn't go bad.

i use it every single day on my face, my whole body and even in my hair while repeating my affirmations and i've noticed a huge difference. i look and feel more beautiful, i'm more confident, my skin is glowing, i keep hearing compliments everywhere i go and i feel adored ᥫ᭡

Happy New Year favs!!! The New Year is a time of awakening, evolving, and improving and this post is to help you all get a reset on your life. 2020 was a rough year in general but this year can be a turn around for you personally if you start designing your dream life and stay committed.

Create Your 2021 Vision Board

Take the time out to map out everything you want in the upcoming months. EVERYTHING! Make it as pretty as possible. This can include things like a dream car, a new job at your favorite store, closer relationships with loved ones, and a polished cohesive appearance. Start with a positive, attracting thought process. Doubtful thinking will not aid in whatever it is you’re trying to attract. Take magazine clippings and print out inspo photos. Write out affirmations and speak as if. Write in future tense as if you’ve already obtained everything you’re asking the universe for. Take a picture of your new pretty vision board and look at it everyday, on your phone and in person.

What are your health concerns? Go to the doctor and find out where you stand physically. Do your research on nutrition and vitamins (and their purposes). Doctors are very helpful in this regard because the ready to go vitamins may not be anything that serves you and as humans we all need different properties (different demographics, genders, races, weight, height, conditions, etc.) Create a strict vitamin regimen and get any shots/treatments that are necessary. Drink more water/non-processed beverages. Eat more clean food and meat. It’s unrealistic to say “I’m not drinking any pop, or eating any fast food.” These are pleasures to some, and living in luxury means enjoying all life’s pleasures. However, too much of a good thing is *say it with me* a bad thing! Moderate moderate moderate!!! Let moderation be your best friend this year and your health will thank you!

Stop telling yourself the body you want is unrealistic!!! Chances are it’s attainable, but by working for it. Having a beautiful figure aides in pretty privilege and getting more out of life. When you wake up confident in your skin, life is much easier and opulence is more plausible. Having a nice body also sends the signal you have your life together. You have goals, you’re active and healthy, you care about your appearance, etc. You don’t even have to get a gym membership. Invest in supplies that will help your individual goals. I have a waist sweat band, a stretch band, and ankle weights because my main goals were toned legs, small waist, and flat stomach. Everyone’s journey will be different but it’s good to incorporate multiple facets of life into your body image goals. For example, not only do I do yoga, but I do cardio, and I drink protein shakes and have a weekly carb goal. (ps. if you want more noticeable curves, FOCUS ON PROTEIN. if being leaner is the goal, focus on reduced carbs and lean meats)

A smart girl is a beautiful girl. Read books on self help, finances, nutrition. It’s such a wonderful feeling to be the one people ask about everything, because they know you’ll know something. Take a class, any class that suits you. I took a fashion class last year and learned a lot. I loved the experience. If you’re in traditional school, set high goals and accomplish them. Once you do, reward yourself. Take immaculate notes and study hard to retain all the info you’re learning. If you’re in high school and know what you want to be your career, start educating yourself on it NOW! Keep a career notebook and research on the field and topic. Find out more about international events and cultures. This will help keep you well versed. Teach yourself another language. Start reading your dictionary and thesaurus. A leveled up woman is intelligent and comes off as such. Learning is enriching. Education is a privilege that we all should be taking advantage of.

GET A NEW PLANNER! Plan out your weeks and months regularly. Being overbooked is mentally taxing and avoidable by organizing every commitment you make. I recommend The Happy Planner, or Erin Condren. You could even create your own using a pretty journal, a calendar, and planner stickers. I recommend this regardless of your lifestyle. You can plan out time for pampering and you time. No matter how busy you are you can block schedule your days to keep from overworking yourself. Clean your phone out. Delete any unused apps, clutter contacts and useless screenshots. Organize your photos by category if you have too many. Make physical notes of any important texts and delete your text threads. Deep clean your home/room and throw away everything causing clutter. Sort out your clothes. I personally sort by season, then goodwill, sell, and throw away.

Find your confidence. Tell yourself regularly how beautiful, kind, intelligent, and fashionable you are. Never ever let your crown slip. Stay unfazed by the opinions of others. People are gonna look at you crazy for having the audacity to love yourself and want a beautiful life and to them; say nothing. Embrace your individuality. Be charismatic and like able but never sway from your true personality. People will be enamored with your social skills. Maintain yourself frequently, pamper yourself, spoil yourself and love yourself. Set goals and be ambitious this year! Keep said goals to yourself. Not only because of the evil eye, but when you talk to people about what you want, their opinions can sway your mindset. This destroys the law of attraction. Maintaining Yourself

Keep everything highly maintained. No matter your financial situation, this is possible. Invest in cute loungewear, activewear, ensembles, and nightwear. You deserve to look great at all times. Get your nails done every 2-3 weeks. Mani and pedi. Maintain it at home with a mani kit. You’ll need a file, cuticle pusher and oil. Keep your body soft and smooth. Develop a strict self care regimen. Create a skin care routine tailored to your concerns and stick with it, twice daily. Get your brows and lashes done and keep them up at home by handling your lashes carefully. Get full body waxes once or twice a month. The smallest details make the hugest difference in a woman’s looks. These include things like white teeth, groomed brows, shaped nails, clean clothing, moisturized skin and posture. Get those six together and watch how different you feel.

A woman with a sense of self has a distinctive look. She’s recognizable by a particular set of aesthetics. Reevaluate your closet. Are you happy in these pieces? Do they make you feel powerful and confident? Do the clothes wear you? If so, get rid. Will it be extra and glitzy? Or preppy? Or minimalistic? What’s your dream lifestyle? Are you a real life supermodel or CEO? Any style you like most is attainable at any budget. Once you’ve developed your style create a signature color scheme. This doesn’t mean you can never wear anything outside of it, but what colors are you going to want to be instantly recognizable in? What textures and patterns are you into? These are the questions costume designers ask themselves to develop an assigned character sense of style and their personality too. For example, when you look at Samantha from SATC, you can tell what her personality is without watching the show. Very alpha, sexy, mature and bougie. Often times style is executed through accessories and supporting pieces. You can make two totally different look with the same shirt and pants with different jewelry, belts, handbags, etc. You can create scrapbooks, mood boards, Pinterest boards, etc. to help you along your way.

New Signature Look

Finally let’s develop your signature touches on your look. Every woman I know who has life figured out has trademark factors in her appearance. This often coincides heavily with your aesthetic. These include handbags, scent, jewelry, hair, nails, a color scheme and makeup. My signature is medium length pink/nude gel nails, white toes, a silk pressed blowout, Chanel Chance Eau Tendre, hoop earrings, long lashes and glossy pink lips. I’m consistent with it. I’ve had a manager tell me “wow, you always have those hoops on, that’s so cute!” This is the goal. You want to be instantly recognizable by these attributes. Women often have a piece of jewelry they never take off that serves as their signature piece. Your signature look can be anything you want as long as you can be consistent with it.

having good smelling hair doesn't only boil down to the scented shampoos and conditioners you use in ur hair. odor in ur hair originates in ur scalp so by keeping a clean scalp -> your hair will smell better! if u have a dry scalp, oil your hair before washing it. oil breaks down oil. if u have an oily scalp, clarify ur hair once a week.

you can figure out what kind of scalp type you have with the quiz i'll link right here (♡) also, i find that how u wash ur hair makes SUCH a difference. i always shampoo twice and i use a bubble foamer to really emulsify my shampoo and that makes my hair feel SO much cleaner and softer so i highly recommend that.

so what i'll do, is i'll make my shampoo foam and put it onto my scalp and then use a scalp massager to REAALLLY get in there and clean my head. massaging my scalp during this time feels so nice. i massage the five different meridians on my scalp and just really enjoy this step. some other general tips include :

🫧 dont use regular perfume on ur hair bcuz the alcohol in perfume dries out ur hair, instead use a hair perfume

🫧 make sure that your washing your hair brushes every couple of weeks to manage the residual product and stop redistributing those oils back into ur hair

SMELLING GOOD ;

using glycolic acid on ur skin gets rid of odor that simply showering cannot. i wipe down with glycolic acid on my underarms once a week. another thing that helps with smelling super good is not rubbing ur perfume in! when u apply perfume onto ur wrists and u rub, ur just breaking them done and making them foggy and thats NOT hot.

dont ever rub, just let it sink into ur skin. also, applying it onto your pressure points (e.g. inner wrists, inner elbows, neck, in between ur boobs) makes all the difference bcuz when u sweat ur body releases heat from here, emitting ur perfume.

ORAL HYGEINE ;

🫧 floss every single night and tongue scraping in the morning! its a non-negotiable

🫧 brush ur teeth 2x a day

🫧 oil pulling 1-2x a week to whiten my teeth and for general oral health (i oil pull with coconut oil)

SHOWER ROUTINE ORDER ;

bar soap (if i need to i'll use an antibacterial one) -> body wash -> OUT OF THE SHOWER -> body oil -> lotion/body butter (keep in mind the body oils and butters go on while ur skin is still slightly damp) -> perfume 🛁💕

GENERAL TIPS AND CHARTS ;

🫧 i use exfoliation gloves/african net sponge every single day, it keeps my skin super duper soft and my skin isnt highly sensitive so i can take it.

🫧 make sure that you use scents that layer well together and blend nicely. dont use a pineapple scented body wash and use a chocolate scented body butter! then you're gonna smell a mess.

an angels guide: my ideal summer morning routine ˚ʚɞ。⋆

hi angels! it’s finally starting to feel like summer, my exams are almost done and the suns shining practically everyday. summer is the perfect time of year to work on yourself, the days are longer, it’s easier to be outside and everything feels so much brighter and more optimistic. with that in mind here is my ideal summer routine! for me this is perfect when i have the time and energy - not every day looks like this but i try and incorporate aspects of this routine as much as possible when time doesn’t permit me to do the entire thing. hopefully it gives you some inspiration and guidance for your own routine!

wake up and open the curtains and my windows. let as much natural light in and feel the warmth of the day on my skin.

drink a glass of water as i sit and look outside, do some deep breathing and feel the possibilities in this new day.

do five to ten minutes of yoga and stretching (id be happy to do a list of my favourite youtubers/routines!).

do ten minutes of gentle pilates, just to help me feel more awake and ready for the day. getting my body moving first thing helps me feel so alive.

make my bed and tidy anything in my room that’s messy or needs sorting. dress in something cute and summery that helps me feel prepared for the day ahead. i love to wear jewellery or little accessories even when i dont have much planned just to remind myself that every day is special.

brush my teeth and gently wash my face with some cool water to help depuff it and wake me up.

pick my book of the day - especially in the summer when i have more time for pleasure reading i like to read a book a day!

make a delicious summer breakfast. my favourites tend to be a yogurt bowl with fruits, coconut and almond flakes and puffed oats, chia seed pudding/overnight oats or a beautiful smoothie bowl. i aim for at least five different fruits/veggies in summer, i want my breakfasts to be as varied and colourful as possible while being wonderfully nutritious! if possible i eat my meals outside in the summer especially first thing.

fill up my water bottle and make a cup of herbal tea. i always drink tea after eating to help me digest and for all the other benefits. my favourites in the summer tend to be either a green tea, a raspberry hibiscus and strawberry tea (my current fave) or a peach tea!

clean teeth again, mouthwash and use my water flosser to help my mouth feel as clean as possible.

do skincare and bodycare. i use a thick lotion on my body twice a day, wait a little then spray perfume as well as applying suncream on my face always and on my body depending on the UV/my activities for the day.

spend fifteen or twenty minutes journalling and using my hands to write down my feelings, mood or any other journal prompt.

read a little of my book, try and be as thoughtful as possible and really absorb the meaning. treasure what a gift literature is.

go on a little walk! i like to aim for twenty minutes, just something short and brief but allows me to spend some time outside and really moving my body.

do something with my hands. bake something, write something, craft something, anything that requires me to focus and engage in a hobby. im always in the process of creating something and im guilty of having hundreds of half finished projects - hoping to finish some this summer!

prepare and plan for the day ahead. write my to do list, organise things with friends or for myself and get ready to enjoy the rest of my day having spent a delightful summer morning caring for my body and soul.
