“Sometimes I hate you, sometimes I hate myself, but always I miss you.”
— David Henry Hwang, M. Butterfly
why is it easier to still keep on wanting someone even if it hurts?
“It’s both a blessing and a curse to feel everything so very deeply.”
— David Jones
the sorrow you feel when missing someone you can no longer see or embrace hits quite differently.
To protect your ✨peace✨ it is okay to:
Say no.
Cancel plans.
Watch less news.
Stop following accounts that trigger you.
Stop following people IRL who stress you.
Set Rules.
Do things that make you happy and relaxed.
Change your mind.
Honor your boundaries.
Put your needs first.
Spend less time with negative people.
Talk to someone.
Spend time away from electronics.
Text back later.
Walk away.
Take deep breaths to stay calm.
Not over do it.
Take Breaks.
Read or watch things that make you feel good.
Let others know if you're stressed.
Spend time on hobbies you love.
Forgive yourself.
Let yourself have a bad day.
Let go.
i think the best thing you have to do first before you ask for forgiveness is to fix yourself and be better.
i'm gradually allowing myself to discontinue oversharing. i came to realise that being overly open to others equates to allowing them to view beyond the surface of yourself, which can be used against you or against the people you value about the most.
nights come devoid of the expanse of your silhouette: only the gnawing
winds
that reproach my bones what good is hope before remorse: when you hacked
your tresses before
my lips
could reach your
nape: with our perse detritus scattered i keep you as a divine shrapnel buried
deep in my pith
inferno: oblivious to your momentum swirling with a taste of non-existence
of
reticence
and you said:
there's no reason to obsess over fiery delights as the remoteness of memory
creeps like
bougainville
somewhere the sky is burning with your chrysanthemums and somewhere
it falls
through
my bones without you: without the taste of your tongue: the first light
won't ever make it here
before your urgencies consume
me and
everything that i will ever
touch
I truly encourage you to add things that simply bring you joy to your list of things to do that day.
it doesn't have to be big, it can be as simple as making your favourite drink or food for lunch or spending some time on a hobby or watching a show you enjoy.
adding things to look forward to and giving yourself time to experience those things is just as important as doing every other thing on that list.
you're allowed to plan to do things for no other reason than it makes you happy.
recovery can be difficult and can take a lot longer than you expected. don’t be hard on yourself for getting burnt out. have compassion even when it feels like your not recovering “fast enough” or “correctly.” everyone is on their own path.
do not rush the healing process; take your time. just as a flower took a while to grow into a beautiful creature.
