I thought I would share the summaries of two fics I'm actively working on! I'm really hoping to finish Prelude To Ecstasy before September 5th (when my classes start)!
Prelude To Ecstasy:
Eloise accompanies Benedict to one of Henry Granville’s parties, where she finds someone entirely unexpected. [ft. Theo Sharpe, accidental bodice ripper.]
No. 1 Party Anthem:
Eloise trips and falls into Theo's bed. [Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, and thrice is neither of those things.]

I feel like every time I come on here to post a snippet…it’s for a new WIP. 😭
Thinking about that time I tried to convince my friend that Theo was coming back for season three and she was like, "Girl, you're delusional," and I was flailing around like, "No, listen--"
...she was right.
Here is a Prelude To Ecstasy snippet, because I'm bored lol:
"Rest assured, I shall endeavour to match your level of propriety—nothing more, nothing less," interrupted Eloise, her eyes gleaming with mischief. Benedict did not appear at all reassured by this.
As I’m trying to come to terms with whatever the fuck that was, I’ve decided that:
Seasons 1 and 2 are peak. Absolute masterpieces. Canon.
Season 3 can be taken or left. Has its moments, but overall not as good as the first two. Canon, but only if you want it to be.
Season 4 is a fucking crack fic written at 2am that the author rereads at a later date and decides to delete. Absolutely not canon.

Eloise has Theo pressed against a shelf—which probably isn’t comfortable, but she can’t bring herself to care—her fingers deftly working open the buttons of his neatly-pressed shirt. There are voices outside, important people having important conversations right outside their hiding place, but all Eloise can focus on is making sure that this man (with his perfect hair and his perfect smile and his perfect—) walks away from this closet looking wrecked.

It’s nearing 2 a.m. and I just wrote over 50% of a small one-shot I may or not post. In my Notes app, no less.
The same crowd that gets on Eloise’s neck about being rich and privileged and unaware of how hard other people’s lives are is the same crowd that trashed her for spending time with Theo, seeing more of the world outside of the ton, learning more about women’s rights and the world around her and called her selfish for wanting more than to spend her life as a man’s trophy-on-a-shelf
Almost like you guys don’t actually want her to grow and expand her worldview, you’re just waiting for Scumbag Ph*lip to come and completely destroy her spirit and punish her for thinking she could possibly do more with her life than be a wife and mother
And what exactly was so selfish about her spending time with Theo? You guys love Benophie as if the class difference isn’t also a factor there
