Prompt:
Tempted to write a season 2 fic that throws both historical accuracy and show consistency out the window and has Theo say “fuck it” and leave work to visit Eloise at her house. He shows up in his work attire and Anthony is all “what the fuck who are you and what are you doing at my house” and Theo’s like “I’ve come to call on Eloise” and Anthony, who’s already on the verge of a mental breakdown because of Kate and Edwina, just goes “fuck it, it’s your funeral” because surely his sister will eat this man alive, right?
But then, they actually seem to like each other. And not only that, they seem to know each other…and that’s when Anthony officially loses it.
Some fans: Eloise is such a fake feminist, doesn't she see how some girls and women enjoy marriage? Doesn't she see how her privileges give her luxuries others don't? She's so selfish. She doesn't even use her words to support other women!
Also same fans: I wish Eloise would stop talking, like her speaking about feminism at every turn is getting old. Can't she just be quiet and let everyone enjoy the fun? Like yeah talking about women's lack of personhood without a male figure in society, or how they can't go to university, or how sometimes they marry men who will only hurt them but need to for their status is sad to see, but THE ROMANCE-
(Summary: Theo calls on Eloise.)
“They appear to be quite fond of insulting one another,” Benedict noted, a gleeful expression on his face.
“Indeed,” Anthony replied dryly, still struggling to process the lunacy occurring right before his eyes. Eloise had just insulted Theo, who responded by throwing his head back and laughing.
Dear God, Anthony realized with no small amount of horror, they were flirting.

SHUT UP eloise bridgerton deserves the rich girl/poor boy trope executed to perfection with a man who drinks his respect women juice every morning and they’re really gonna TEASE me with it before they ship her off to the countryside to marry a man who’s looking for a mother for his children??? CRUEL
It's always "hey, what's up" over dms and never: "I’ve read all of these and…I set them aside for you. I thought perhaps you might share your thoughts on them."
My favorite example of girl math is when David Hilbert and Albert Einstein couldn't solve how energy conservation worked in general relativity, so Hilbert asked Emmy Noether about it and she solved it for them.
Me? Writing fanfic about two nerds with 10 minutes of screentime instead of writing code for my internship? It's more likely than you think.
My brain is just my superiority complex and my inferiority complex battling for dominance. And the latter is winning.
Attempting to write this fic and quickly realizing I have no sense of humour. 💀

This scene occurs the morning after Anthony's "failed nuptials"...and also the morning after Eloise confessed her feelings to Theo and he set aside books for her to "share her thoughts on". I can't help but wonder if the book she's reading here is one of the books he set aside for her?
This scene follows immediately after, and it's obvious she's on her way to meet Theo (my girl's practically skipping lol). Perhaps she wanted to meet Theo and "share her thoughts" on the book she was reading? The book that he gave her?

A lot of people compare Eloise and Theo to Anthony and Siena or Colin and Marina: where one is simply a plot device for the other. While I have my own thoughts regarding this that I won't get into, I think a more apt comparison for Eloise and Theo is Francesca and John.
We see both relationships develop, and we see a real connection between these couples despite Eloise and Francesca ending up with different people in the books. Eloise and Theo feel like "kindred spirits" due to their shared interests, and so do Francesca and John.
Theo and John also share Eloise and Francesca's love language: politics and literature, in Eloise's case, music and peace, in Francesca's case. We see this when Theo sets aside books for Eloise and when John rewrites music for Francesca. Personally, I prefer these moments to some of the grand love confessions we see in the show (which I also love, don't get me wrong). Actions speak louder than words for a reason!
Both Theo and John can also offer Eloise and Francesca the life they want: Theo offers Eloise a life outside of high society, John offers Francesca a peaceful life.
anne shirley would be absolutely exhilarated if she knew she was a book heroine i love her
Me deciding to completely rewrite a chapter approximately 5 hours after publishing it.
A law of fanfiction: Thou shalt not find an error in your carefully edited, thrice read through, chapter until it is live and published.
the irony of having eloise call cressida "the viper that she invited into her home" to penelope of all fucking people. I turned the show off after that and i doubt i will ever turn it back on.
penelope, who eloise invited into her home, who spent years using her closeness to the bridgertons for her own gain. penelope, who eloise confided so many secrets in, who turned around and published them knowing full well it could spell ruin for the bridgertons--specifically the bridgerton women.
penelope is the viper, and to try and play it any other way, to try and push that label onto cressida, and to assassinate eloise's character(and colin's, the rest of the bridgertons, and lady danbury and every other character that was forced support this LW bullshit to prop penelope up) isn't just lazy. it's a fucking joke.
Okay, hear me out:
(Also, most of what I'm about to say hinges on the fact that I'm pretty confident season 4 is Benedict's season.)
The swing scene at the end of season 3 seemed to pretty blatantly set up Benedict and Eloise's arcs for season 4. Regarding Benedict, that scene seems to imply he'll be meeting Sophie next season, and regarding Eloise, she straight up says she wants to explore the world beyond Mayfair and Aubrey Hall.
Now, we know Eloise will be back in London for the masquerade ball, and we also know that the masquerade is where Benedict meets Sophie. Assuming season 4 is Benedict's season, the masquerade will need to happen earlier on in the season, so Eloise won't be spending too much time in Scotland.
So, if Eloise's season 4 arc revolves around exploring the world beyond her little bubble of high society, spending an episode or two in Scotland is not enough.
She needs to go back to Bloomsbury.
We already got a taste of this in season 2, but we primarily see Eloise visiting Theo at the printshop. Season 4 offers a perfect opportunity to see Eloise go beyond the printshop and attend more assemblies, and maybe even speak at one (in season 3, one of the debutantes did call Eloise a talented speaker). Hell, maybe she even runs into Theo at one of these assemblies.
Additionally, if season 4 revolves around Benophie, working class people need to be brought into the spotlight. Enter Theo Sharpe! Introducing Sophie already opens up the world of Bridgerton in a way we haven't seen before, but bringing back Theo can expand that world and show us a more political side, which we only got a glimpse of in season 2. Not to mention, a Theloise subplot during Benophie's season can provide really interesting commentary on women marrying above/below their station.
BRIDGERTON UNPOPULAR OPINION
I like they made Francesca lesbian instead of Eloise, imo they break the stereotypes this way.
In one hand they show that a “feminine” girl (I mean it under the hegemonic idea of feminine and masculine) can be a lesbian. Thats important because there’s A LOT of people who still believe that a lesbian has to be a women dressed as a boy, like sexuality had anything to do with anything else besides sexual preferences. Sexuality it’s not a mold of personality and I appreciate every representation of that we can get.
On the other hand, by not no making Eloise a lesbian they also break the stereotype that EVERY feminist women it’s a lesbian, like feminism was about hating man and hence a feminist shouldn’t be attracted to men. I kinda feel making El a lesbian could lead to that stereotype and downplay her political believes, like her denial to fit into society was about her dislike of men and not about her dislike of a whole system were women are given so little opportunities.
There’s a lots of people who still see thing that way, reducing lesbians to male wanna be and feminists to man hater, like everything had to be about men in some way, so I highly appreciate the representation of lesbian and feminist women outside that stereotypes.

[A series of vignettes in the lives of Eloise Bridgerton and Theo Sharpe.]
Her. Song.
I hate it here so I will go to // Secret gardens in my mine // People need a key to get to // The only one is mine
Is it a song about masturbation? Yeah, that's how I interpreted it lol. But, taking some of the lines out of context, I think they really fit Eloise and Theo's relationship. Theloise is a forbidden relationship that never became "official" or reached that physical stage, which somewhat fits the song.
The following are just a few examples:
The almost-kiss, Eloise visiting Theo in Bloomsbury.
I keep recalling things we never did Messy top lip kiss How I long for our trysts
Eloise facing ruin despite never being physical with Theo.
Without ever touching his skin How can I be guilty as sin?
Please send me your favorite theloise songs, I need inspiration to edit <3
Here's a snippet of the final chapter of my WIP: The Manuscript! Planning on posting later today.
