hello!!! your art is gorgeous, could i just ask what brush(es?) you use? sorry if someone's asked this before💔💔
genuinely sorry i didn’t see this, i have few messages in inbox that i didn’t get any notifications for.
I almost only use the procreate brushes from here! The sketches i do i usually use the edge brushes, i also added color jitter for some brushes from the procreate pack
the link is to gumroad, the brushpack is free. If you use photoshop, or interested in the complete brush packs, theyre listed here
It’s been a while, and this project fought me every step of the way, but I managed to finish this book. This is a Frankenstein’s monster of two fan translations of Sacred and Terrible Air slapped together and haphazardly edited some more to my personal satisfaction. As far as I could tell while I was typesetting it was even more bleak than already bleak world of Disco Elysium, and deeply nihilistic to boot.
So I wanted to make it look as disturbing as I could manage (and still want to hold it long enough to read).
🫁 Endpapers are hand-inked neurographics;
🫁 I painted and splattered the edges to look as moldy as possible;
🫁 The spine is linen, and titled by hand;
🫁 The design on the cover is a concept art for the game (I know the book is not set in Revachol, but I wanted a very specific brand of Eastern-European angst, and that church fit the bill).
Back in July of 2024, I was incredibly inspired by the project Mapping Revachol by Map Max and wanted to continue on with an attempt of my own. The canon map we're given felt out of date and more than a little incongruous with what we're told in-game, and being both an avid fanfic writer and compulsive visualizer, I really wanted to be able to see Revachol in my mind's eyes.
So, taking inspiration from both Map Max's attempt, as well as meticulously combing through in-game dialogue (with the help of my intrepid friend and far more meticulous researcher than I, @spine-y) we scoured Fayde for any and all directional references to the different districts of Jamrock, East and West Revachol, and everything that lay beyond. (Shoutout to the MoralIntern questline, that one came in clutch).
I took a few liberties with district placement, especially because the wiki also seems to contradict a few things we're told in the game. You may not agree with my choices, and I'm open to suggestions! I may not make any changes anytime soon because this took forever, but I also welcome any other attempts to map Revachol!
(The red line that cuts through Central Jamrock and Faubourg is Boogie Street!)
Included below is my initial sketch before I realized that doing this in markers and microns would actually be the death of me, and then some of the early screenshots of trying to figure out what the hell the 8-81 would actually look like and how to make it make sense.
Does it make perfect sense? No! I'm not a cartographer; I'm a fanartist. I'd much rather draw men dicking each other down nasty style. But this was an incredibly fun project that only took me... only six months to complete.
I hope you enjoy!

Watch out the bear Kim.. ^^'
holy shit somebody on reddit linked to the web page of a designer for disco elysium and i’m Reeling with the pale lore here
guy from cowboy game
People will be like Kim and Harry is a bunk pairing because Kim deserves better than Harry.
Which like sure probably but Kim isn't gonna get better than Harry and you gotta take it from Kim's pov.
You're a 43 year old gay cop who's blind without his glasses, has back problems, wears historical cosplay to work, is a consummate professional who's married to his car and takes way too much pleasure in being a party pooper.
You're not exactly prime dating material and on top of that there's probably a lot of racist weirdos out there in the dating pool you're getting sick of bumping into.
But then up and saunters this sloppy ass bear, he's a weirdo and a fucking absolute mess who can't even remember what money is, but he's an incredibly intelligent and talented detective.
he's also weirdly kind if not incredibly creepy but he makes you laugh and gets you to enjoy yourself when you normally wouldn't and then all of a sudden he is absolutely enamoured with you, transfixed even, who thinks you're not only too good for him, but you're deserving of the best possible person and he recognizes this and he's desperately willing to do literally anything to be good enough for you. And you're over here thinking about how you've been settling for less than your worth and at least this wet dog of a man is not only recognizing your worth but seeing you as more valuable than you've ever dared to see yourself.
it is, i think, symptomatic of the way larian has built this brand: bg3 was always marketed as being mature (read: sexual), and that was one of the big draws for players - myself included! especially as media pulls more towards extremes, with mainstream video games starting to get increasingly graphically sexual, graphically violent, and the vogue for 'grey morality' becomes the norm, those boundaries get pushed, and it becomes more and more of a selling point.
larian obviously focused on this, along with the How Do You Do, Fellow Kids brand, the increased accessibility of game devs on twitter, and adopted it heavily into their marketing strategy, and are now pretty reliant on the horny gamer crowd for a lot of their audience, and more importantly, they're doing this on purpose.
which is how you end up in situations like this.
characters (white men) the players want to fuck get centred: they get updates, they get more content, they get favoured. halsin's gone from a side character in EA to a half-fledged romance option, to a full romance option: he shows up in the promotional material, is larian's poster boy for the sex scenes, he gets more content with every update.
now gortash gets more heavily implied situationship lines with the dark urge, because players are horny for him. nevermind that some people aren't playing that way, or that he was originally set up to be a lower-level antagonist; nevermind that if the durge's storyline needed expansion, it should've been with orin and sarevok and bhaal, or that it muddies the writing for the rest of gortash's arc + characterisation: people want to fuck him, so it gets put in the game. it's not even to do with karlach, whose quest so desperately needs expansion! it's specifically catering to the people who want their character to have a Relationship with the slaver, because they're either not interested in or not able to focus on strengthening the weak spots in the narrative: they're just doing things that will net the 'my favourite dating sim' people lmfao.
meanwhile, literal main character wyll gets his quest demoted to a subquest, doesn't get bugfixes, doesn't get a single unique romance greeting after 6 patches and months of requests. he's not a Horny character, so he doesn't get the focus: he's not a player favourite, so he gets nothing. it's just... so unbelievably, indisputably racist, and it's incredibly grim and disappointing to watch it happen in real-time.
Memory is an elusive neural process concerning the interaction of various parts of the brain, neural tracts, and neurotransmitters. Considering popular memory hacks, we have learned how such techniques used structures and mechanisms of the brain in their own way to make the information more available. Let's carefully look into eight memory hacks and why they work on a neuroscientific level.
The Memory Palace Technique and the Hippocampus: The so-called Memory Palace, or method of loci, in its overall functioning relies on the brain's spatial memory system, enlisting primarily the hippocampus. The hippocampus is placed within the medial temporal lobe and plays a vital role in producing and retrieving spatial and episodic memories. This particular area was more significant for our ancestors with regard to orientation and mapping of their environment, a skill directly related to survival. When you visualize putting things in places you know well, your hippocampus is associating the spatial memory of that place with more abstract information you want to remember. Such an association results in a strong memory trace, since spatial memory is more robust and resilient. The technique also engages the parahippocampal gyrus, which processes visual-spatial context, thereby facilitating retrieval by mentally "walking" through the familiar place.
The Spacing Effect and Synaptic Plasticity: The spacing effect, otherwise known as spaced repetition, is based upon synaptic plasticity, which means the strengthening of synapses through repeated activity. So, when something is reviewed over a longer period of time, it strengthens the neural pathways related to that memory. This reinforcement happens during consolidation, a process heavily supported by the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex. Each time the information is revisited, it causes long-term potentiation-a process whereby repeated stimulation of neurons strengthens synaptic connections. LTP simply makes it easier for those neurons involved in that memory to fire together simultaneously, therefore creating a stronger memory pathway. Such periodic reinforcement will enable the memory to move from short-term to long-term storage and thus set it firmly in the neocortex for long-term recall.
Visualization and Multi-Sensory Memory Encoding: Visualization techniques capitalize on multi-sensory memory encoding to engage not just the hippocampus but also the occipital lobe for visual processing and the fusiform gyrus involved in object and face recognition. Transposing these more abstract pieces of information into vivid mental images through visualization naturally creates a deeper sensory trace, which the brain favors and finds easier to remember. When we visualize, neurons in the visual and sensory cortex fire in patterns that resemble actual sensory experience; detaied and richly encoded memory representations are thus built. This multisensory approach will include the amygdala if there is an emotional component of the visualization, thus forming emotionally laden memories which are even easier to recall because of their strength in memory consolidation.
Teaching or Explaining and the Role of Elaborative Rehearsal: Teaching others or explaining increases retention due to elaborative rehearsal, where the new information is related to the knowledge that already exists. This strongly engages the prefrontal cortex, an area involved in comprehension and planning, along with association cortices that integrate sensory information from multiple regions. Every time you teach something or explain it, you are retrieving information and reorganizing it in your own words. This practice not only reinstates the neural circuits transporting the information but also allows neuroplasticity to be reinforced through reshaping and strengthening synapses participating in this retrieval process, hence making that memory more accessible later. Teaching arouses the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and, in turn, enhances both comprehension and memory encoding.
Mnemonics, Rhymes, and the Temporal Lobes: Mnemonics, especially those with a rhyme or rhythm, enlist auditory processing centers in the temporal lobes. The auditory cortex of the brain is highly tuned for patterns in sound; for this reason rhythm and rhyme are memorable. Angular gyrus and superior temporal gyrus, both implicated in language processing, are activated when mnemonics are used to encode information as sequences or patterns. The repetition within mnemonics and rhymes strengthens sequential memory by evoking the ability with which the brain is particularly adept: remembering information in order. This systematic encoding, thus, has the potential to support the linkage of abstract information with identifiable auditory patterns and enhance recall. Moreover, the cingulate gyrus, involved in the distribution of attention, could further enhance this by focusing and encoding these rhythmic patterns as memories of items.
Diet, Neurotransmitters, and Brain Health: Nutrition can have a variety of impacts on memory and cognition, from neurotransmitters to structure. Some nutrients are precursors to neurotransmitters studied as influencing cognition. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter associated with learning and memory and whose synthesis depends on choline intake. Food containing high amounts of choline, such as egg and fish, should provide an adequate supply for the synthesis of acetylcholine in the basal forebrain. Omega-3 fatty acids are considered essential for neuronal membrane health and ensure that signals between neurons are well transmitted. Antioxidants from fruits and vegetables reduce oxidative stress in the brain, which protects against cognitive decline and promotes neuroplasticity. Adequate nutrition maintains neurotransmitter function & structural integrity in memory regions such as the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex, promoting overall cognitive resilience and facilitating higher memory capacity.

Compilation of random Kim’s lines where he sounds a little more upbeat than usual (amused, excited, curious, snorting, etc.) — 6 min
the boys of my heart (im a lesbian)
when it comes to disco elysium, one of my favourite things within the game is the usage of lungs as a motif of love and the representation of this through dolores dei. it’s an incredible way of showing it, as when you love someone or something it almost seems to sustain you, becomes the air that you breathe.
however, another thing i noticed is that an overwhelming majority of the characters smoke. smoking is famously damaging to your health, more specifically to your lungs - almost like smoking is a metaphor for the way these characters show their relationships with others.
some prime examples are:
• harry du bois, who smoked heavily before losing his memory (and after, depending on player choice), a clear instance because of dora and her effect on his life and relationships for years after she left
• the smoker on the balcony, who is never seen without a cigarette, and is in an unloving sexual relationship with someone who can never understand him or truly know him at all
• klaasje amandou, who is also never seen without a cigarette, believes that she is at fault for all of her relationships collapsing and has a skewed view on what it means to love
however, my favourite example is, of course, kim kitsuragi. yes, he smokes as he enjoys the control he has over his addiction and the “cool factor” it gives him is satisfying, but i think there’s a more specific reason there - kim is so repressed that he consistently walls himself off from relationships.
kim himself says that he smokes one a day as he goes over his notes. to me, this says that he is causing minor, daily damage to his interpersonal relationships that builds up more and more over time. the fact that he does it specifically when going over notes says a lot to me too - that his work is what he’s using to push others away.
he does break this one a day rule, however - in the ending where the player chooses not to recruit kim. harry leaves kim behind. they shake hands, and as soon as harry turns away, kim lights a cigarette, a visual representation of the damage caused by another partnership cut short.
I just wanted to thank you for contributing to society, an amazing few hours spent in binge reading, the feelings stirring in the chest when something in Kim wakes up after all those years. Reading it and seeing all those people, sceneries. Good soup.
Kim feels for the Satellite Officer. It’s clear what he’s been through, what Harry has subjected him to over the last few years - Kim only knows the half of it, of course, but he’s seen it before, hermit-cops pushing everyone away, their partner last man standing at the bombsite. Still, it feels cruel to punish this person for it, this wiped-clean, remade Harry, looking at Kim now like a bottle-fed animal about to be released into the wild. If Kim does go to the 41st, navigating all this will be an extra layer of complexity. He should think very carefully about it - about whether it’s worth getting mixed up in all this. The mess.
A slow-burn, Kim-POV story about going to the 41st, against his better judgement.

Argo Tuulik, Disco Elysium writer currently employed at Summer Eternal, is going into debt over a legal battle against ZA/UM and Longdue techbro investors who want to wring every bit of money they can out of the hard work of creatives like Argo and Dora.
Summer Eternal is a workers-owned game development studio home to writers and designers from one of the greatest games of all time. Any amount donated to Argo's gofundme helps get them back on track to creating art.
Riaz Moola, the founder of CoGrammar and Longdue which claims to be making a "successor to Disco Elysium" is so cartoonishly evil, like I can't believe this shit:
- he is currently legally preventing Argo Tuulik from working at Summer Eternal and in the industry until April 2025
- he wanted to be a shareholder of Summer Eternal and was asking SE to promote Longdue and not marked themselves or accept any crowdfunding until April 2025
- he is also teaming up with za/um, and taking Tuulik to court which is insanely expensive, which is why Argo is close to bankruptcy now, and had to set up a GoFundMe
- said GFM was taken down after a day and it's very likely that Moola did this because
- on the reddit post about this GFM Moola has made a comment that has like 300 upvotes, and some negative comments directed at him have a lot of downvotes, which is super suspicious considering other comments don't have even half as much engagement there, (and I think some comments even got deleted somehow!) &
- he is the CEO of Hyperiondev, which infamous for deleteting negative reviews about it's shit quality coding bootcamp
- Moolah's response to Argo was that "come on I'm just a small business owner and you were friendly with me in an email some months ago" (this dude is the CEO of multiple companies and who sues their friend into bankruptcy??)
- Argo Tuulik has said that he is doubtful that anyone from the old disco team is working at Longdue, and Moola could be using the fact that Tuulik was doing something for a very short time at CoGrammar to say that 'former de developers are at Longdue'
In conclusion,
Fuck Riaz Moola and what Longdue is making has nothing to do with disco elysium
Interview with Argo Tuulik, one of the many incredibly talented writers behind Disco Elysium who is now with Summer Eternal.
Reminder that Argo has a crowdfund and has asked for help with essentials and legal fees. If Disco Elysium reached you in some capacity, consider checking out the full story behind the legal battle and donating to the cause:
… and the Insulinde as a whole
Very much inspired by ssshiversss and Map Max, whose versions of the map were absolutely invaluable for wrapping my head around this project. Combining their work with the original map of Jamrock, and doing my best to stay loyal to the (often contradictory) descriptions in the text of the game, I think I’m happy with what I’ve ended up with.
Much like my predecessors, I have elected to separate Coal City and La Delta, and in fact ignore any attempt by the game to convince me that La Delta is west of Martinaise. It just… It just isn’t.
Game description struggles aside, this was really fun!! Details/Description in the alt text.
I just like maps
I love you Acele: the organized crime refugee, survivor of violence, always on party drugs, the teenage girl hanging out with adult men because there's no better option, who makes weird conceptual sound art even after her boyfriend sells most of her equipment, who gets screamed at by a cop and decides to give him therapy, who somehow still thinks people are sweet.
I love you Cindy: the homeless artist squatting in the coalroom, who does massive street art challenging the occupation, belongs to a famously violent gang but likes people too much to go around stabbing most of them, and terrorizes the rich lady into leaving her block.
I love you Soona: the antisocial programmer, who loses her job and her dream and dedicates herself to finding out why, worries about the unemployed writers, moves her professional-grade computer into a busted-up old church to run science experiments, who lets the homeless ravers move into the church with her so she can use their sound equipment, who makes the ravers listen to her thoughts about elves.
I love you Billie: the working-class woman with an alcoholic husband, who shrugs off intrusive questions and accepts a hug for the sake of the working class, who tells the weird intrusive cop that he isn't a fuckupatoo after all, who sewed a blue lining into her husband's ratty old jacket to keep him warm.
I love you Lilienne: the single mom who survives selling fish to rich people she'll never see, who carries a sword around, who sees a cop that reminds her of her dead alcoholic husband and takes the time to be kind to him when she doesn't have to be.
I love you Isobel: the old washerwoman who has stayed when all her children and neighbors have left, who takes in the drifters and strays who pass through the village, who won't give them up to the cops even when they find a bullet in her spare room, who calls the cop a dark omen but also lets him stay for free.
I love you Elizabeth: the local girl who went off the law school and came back a firebreathing socialist, who can stop the head of the local gang in his tracks just by saying his name, who never concedes an inch to the cops, who will try to reason with armed mercenaries and put her life on the line to protect her people. Who will run the union one day if she lives.
I love you Neha: the dicemaker who bounced back from the death of her first dream, who makes dice into art objects (the cursed die!!!), who remembers all the failed businesses and weirdos, who knows how precarious the world can be, but moved into the most cursed building in Martenaise and made a corner of it into somewhere cozy, sunlight, and safe.
I love you women of Martenaise: you live in the ruins, one of the worst neighborhoods in an occupied city, the beachhead that no one ever bothered to rebuild. You live in grinding poverty, where every government and school of thought has failed even more than they have in the rest of the city. You refuse to let Harry intimidate you, but (some of) you help him anyway—not because he's a cop, but because he's a man who has hit rock bottom, and you all know what that's like. Some of you fight for causes and some of you make art and some of you care for your families, and all of you give what little you can spare to make your community just a little bit better.
idk who this officer is but she reeks and is putting the entire case in jeopardy, could never imagine myself tolerating this sort of conduct;
Disco Sapphics Zine:
Why Disco Elysium Is So Good
A brain dump of feelings I have about disco elysium and why I think its sick as hell
sometimes we (i) forgot
This Disco Elysium-themed NSFW digital zine is a collection of 60+ more or less finished sketches I drew from 2022 throughout July 2024.
It contains requests I posted on Twitter, pieces I sent over my newsletter, and 12 still unpublished new ones drawn specifically for this zine. Multiple characters and pairings are depicted, with a focus on Harry and Kim's relationship.
This zine was conceived exclusively as a way to raise funds for the brave people of Palestine. All proceeds will be split between UNRWA and Medical Aid for Palestine.
The DE community is big and quite international, so the price was chosen to make the zine accessible to as many fans as possible. Please consider donating more if you can. Every contribution, no matter how small, can help make a difference! I hope you enjoy it, and thank you so much for your support! ♥

im starting a collection
Hi! I made a height chart of some disco elysium characters using their actual 3D models! Harry's height is stated in the game to be around 180 cm/5'11ft so I used that as a baseline to scale the chart. More talking under the cut.
also I fucked up cindy's placement she should be more like 5'2
Yeah, this post certainly doesn't have all of them. A lot of the models I have are comically tiny and would have to be tediously resized using collage mode references or something and I straight up forgot about most others, this was moreso done to see if this project idea was even possible to do. It's possible I'll make a follow-up including EVERYONE though! :) eventually
I also fumbled something while extracting files, certain files were missing and now I cannot extract files At All, this is why Garte and Klaasje are messed up and it also kept me from including some characters entirely.
Overall the results weren't as interesting as I thought they'd be but I h
literally wake up some nights in a cold sweat thinking about this
