the dumbest LWA headcanon I have is that since Ursula keeps her glasses after the finale, even when her identity is out and she’s keeping her hair red, that must mean she actually needs her glasses. I like to imagine she can barely see anything without them.

so like, big deal, right? lots of people wear glasses. who cares? Except for scenes like this where she gets ready to throw down.

Like this sure looks badass. Ursula’s here and she’s not leaving before she takes some names. 

But it’s super funny to me to watch these scenes where Ursula gets into all these big fights and does all these sick flips and kicks and takes down all of Croix’s little robots and imagine that she actually can’t see a thing of what she’s doing. At all. Like fine, maybe they’re actually just reading glasses, but watching through all her big action scenes with this headcanon that Ursula is basically doing all this blind makes them like, 200% more entertaining.

One thing I learned from these studies is that no matter how hard I try to imitate individual elements of an artist’s style, the whole still will never feel quite like them. Because every artist has their own unique fingerprints all over their work and that can’t be replicated. I think that’s pretty cool!

I'm hoping to do more of these cause it's a fun challenge and I have like 10 million more artists I really admire and learn from haha. But for this first batch I picked the ones I think I have probably studied the most already :) Each of them is incredibly creative, skilled, and gifted, with their own signature style, and I have learned a lot from all of them. Diana stood in the rain, holding her fist against her chest while she told Akko that she had enough. She needed a break. Akko wasn't going to fight it - she understood. She'd give her time, but by the nine it still hurt. And so they went their separate ways, running away from the point where they confessed to each other in the first place. It was bittersweet but temporary; a moment to pause and reconsider. They'd come back - they both knew they would. But for now they had to walk away at the same time. In a hurry, Akko head north and ran at a rate of 8km/hr in a straight line. Diana, on the other hand, was more contemplative, walking east at the rate of 1km/hr. She wondered if things could have gone differently, and if space was needed in the first place. How fast are they separating from each other and what is the length of the hypotenuse of the triangle after formed after 30 minutes of walking?

One of the most exciting things about our move from Canada back to New Zealand for me was surprising my Mama about it on her birthday. It was very hard to keep the news a secret for months but worth the look on her face. I called her out of the isolation facility where we had to stay for 2 weeks before being able to properly reunite with the whole family. This comic and all of the comics to do with our move have felt very special to draw. Thank you for reading them and all your kind supportive words. I am very lucky.
