Quenching Fires in Australia

Items - Shell, Pen, Paper, Snow

Write intention on the paper three times. I used the following version:

"Let the rains come, Let the fires be quenched, Let the land heal and fill with life."

Fold the paper up and place it in the shell. Pack it over with snow (substitute moon water or rain water, whatever you have available). Let the snow melt and discard in the morning before Dawn.

ā™”~easy rain spell i tried today~ā™”

i love rain. today, I put some dirt from my backyard, some salt (for earth, and protection, so nothing dangerous happens), and some cayenne, ( for passion in the storm) in a jar with water. i also added a little metal thumbtack, ( i have a magnet on my alter, and wanted to attract rain to me.)

i then sat in the shower with it and concentrated on rain. What would my neighborhood look like in rain, etc.

No results yet, but I am seeing some nice dark clouds... šŸ¤žšŸ¤žšŸ¤ž

Rain or storm spell for drought, dry spells, and/or excessive heat.

items:

- storm (or rain) water

- freshwater shell (I used an apple snail shell, but a something like a mussel or other shell would work. if you don't have one sub with a saltwater/estuarine shell and see how it goes!)

- Any charm that you can hang, preferably one that invokes imagery/symbolism of water or rain

- 2 more shells (salt or fresh. I used ones with open faces)

- silver bell

- sea glass (blues and greens)

- salt (epsom or sea salt preferred)

- large/medium feather of a water fowl (grey or white preferred)

- clear quartz (optional)

- offering dish (optional, really for presentation and clean up)

prep:

1. Set up the freshwater shell on the offering dish (or table) and keep it stable with a ring of sea glass (optional: single clear quartz or clear sea glass at front).

2. Place the charm in the shell with rope/thread/ribbon draping towards you.

3. Place the silver bell at the "north" of the dish (imagine the dish as a compass) and place your other two shells on either side of it.

4. Put the feather in front of you with the quill end nearest to your dominant hand.

5. Have the salt in a small container you can pinch into.

ritual:

1. Breathe deeply 3 times with eyes closed to center yourself. You can also create a circle or do any other grounding exercises at this time.

2. Make a circle around the inner rim of the offering dish (or table) with the salt and get this meaning across with words: "salt, mineral of the oceans, protector and cleanser"

3. Pick up the feather and stir the energies to the metaphorical north (treat the offering dish like a compass). I did this with my eyes closed as it lessens distractions. You will repeat this action for each cardinal direction and get this meaning across in order:

"I beckon rain from the North, to soak the rich earth"

"I beckon rain from the East, aided by its winds for a swift arrival"

"I beckon rain from the South, as the heat of is your creator, and it is the heat you will abate"

"I beckon rain from the West, as all waters merge and must complete their cycle"

I find it important to use "will" rather than might/should as to bolster the confidence behind your intentions. Feel free to alter and add to this wording as much as you like for it is already loose and use this time to invoke any specific deities or spirits as I did not.

4. Place the feather down gently, breathe, and say "after I have rung this bell 3 times, whenever I hang this charm where the sky can see, it will intice rain for as long as it hangs" (be thoughtful of wording and your intentions here, loopholes are very easy to accidentally create, so set clear parameters that aren't too outrageous)

5. Ring the bell with steady motions. It's important that you get 3 clear rings, so if you try to ring it once but the sound isn't great, try until you have 3 satisfactory chimes.

6. Once you have placed the bell back down, close your circle or breathe to realign any energies.

And that's about it! I tried this today and we got a good spell of rain (with thunder and everything!) even though there was no predictions for it this whole week. I'm hesitant to do a spell for storms as I live in a hurricane-prone region and it's that time of year, but feel free to replace "rain" with "storm" or whatever wording feels specific to what you desire. I kept the wordings here intentionally vague/loose because it's important to use words that you mean something to you.

Let me know if you try this and get anything out of it, or how you changed it! It's the first spell I've posted here so I'm interested to know.

Daily Spell: June 13th

Shoe Protection Spell

You’ll need:

Your favorite pair of walking or running shoes

A black permanent marker

This season, before it gets too hot, is a great time of the year to go outdoors and getting some exercise, and that could mean you’ll spend a lot of time on your feet. If you’re a hiker, backpacker, jogger, or if you just try to get in a few laps around the neighborhood, do the spell on your shoes to protect you as you travel.

Flip over the shoes, and on the bottom of the left one, write the word SAFE. On the right, write SOUND. Put the shoes on, and sit on the floor, knees bent and to the side, so the souls are touching each other. Say ā€œI may walk around the world, but I’ll always come home safe and sound. I walk for miles both far and near, hale and hearty when I returned here.ā€

Wear your shoes when you go walking or running, and be sure to check the souls periodically to see if you need to refresh the words.

Easy magic for the new, busy, or spoonie witch

Morning routine magic:

1. If you are someone who uses makeup, use concealer to draw a sigil for protection, beauty, empowerment, of whatever else you may need on your skin and slowly smudge and cover it as you continue your routine. Focus on how the you who was successful in the spell would act and feel (ex. Imagining what you would look like to others or yourself if you were confident or invisible to prying eyes) while drawing and smudging and strategize ways to deal with hurdles.

2. While brushing your teeth repeat this or a similar mantra for kind words in your head ā€œmint on my breath and love in my heart, help all my words come out kind from the start. Scrub out the grit and grind off the edge, may genuine words guide friends off a painful ledgeā€

3. Use color correspondences while picking out your outfits to channel desired energies throughout the day. (Hint: this is a good place to research the psychology of color and pair it with magical symbolism to achieve the desired result)

4. Use your morning shower to cleanse negativity and malicious intent from you. While showering rub soap or salt vigorously on your body (SAFELY) while imagining removing curses, hexes, and similar malicious intent from you. Water is often inherently cleansing, no harm in using it for that daily.

5. Use tying your shoes as an opportunity for knot magic. Throw any knot you need into your laces and imagine tying the intent to yourself as you go. Good for binding yourself to your own goals or else making a wearable binding spell targeted at others

On the fly magic tips:

1. Start practicing recognizing the symbolism that exists in urban environments to maximize your efficacy as a witch. Ex. Using glitter in a binding jar to reflect their negative energy back at them or googly eyes to literally ā€˜keep an eye’ on the target. This will help you improvise spells as needed

2. Practice grounding and raising energy as regularly as possible to ensure you are always ready for a situation or spell.

3. Keep simple spell ingredients or a satchel in your wallet/purse/car to bring favorable outcomes in all elements of your life

4. Draw a sigil on a drawing app and charge it while you ride the train/bus to wherever you need it. Then delete it when you arrive

Wearable Study Bottle

Wearable Study Bottle

Back to school means lots of stress, and even more exams. It's important to study all the time as much as you can, and this wearable* spell bottle is a neat little way to help increase your productivity.

* does not have to be worn, can be carried as usual

What you need:

The spell:

Small jar, preferably glass and corked

Sage // wisdom, mental clarity

Cinnamon // success, increased mental energy

Ginger // power booster, energy boost

Irish moss // luck

Chamomile // stress relief

Peppermint // mental clarity, success

Lemon balm // success

Lemon peel // energy booster!

Elderberry // power boost

Heather // protection, luck

Wearable charm:

Eye pin

Jump ring

Necklace/something you want to put the charm on (a second one I did, which I'll post later, is a protection charm for my keys)

What you do:

If you're going to make it wearable:

Poke your eye pin through the cork top, and bend the excess back into the cork (like a j going through the cork)

Glue the eye pin to the cork, so there's no way it can come off and break

Connect a jump ring to the eye, so now you have a way to connect your charm to whatever you want it to hang off of

Take wax or super glue, and seal shut šŸ–¤

As you can see, I didn't have an eye pin or a jump ring, so I bent a few sewing pins using jewelry pliars into the shape I needed

For the bottle:

Layer your herbs inside the bottle, it do esn't matter what order 😊

Wearable Study Bottle
Wearable Study Bottle

I'm not a photographer, but I think you get the point šŸ˜ŠšŸ–¤

Wearable Study Bottle

This is it when it's done.

Please remember that this will not work if you don't study. Magic can only boost, it won't make you pass the exam if you don't do the work. Happy school year!

šŸ›” Warding šŸ›”

Disclaimer: This is all based on my research, path, opinion & experiences! Intro: I really was holding out on doing this post because it’s such a big, important topic to cover and I really don’t want to mess it up or get anything wrong. This post needs to be done though, people have asked if I have such a post and an anon suggested it. So finally, here it is.Ā  - What Is Warding? Warding is a type of magick, it is the act of creating an energetic barrier around you, your home, an object, ect. They can be temporary or permanent, although typically they are cast with the long term in mind. They can banish or turn away whatever you choose. Warding is an excellent skill to have because it can keep you, and even others safe and with practice you can do it anytime with just about whatever you have on hand.Ā  When Should I Ward? Whenever you want an energetic barrier around you, most people consistently ward their home, themselves or their place of practice. Some people even ward their space every time they prepare for a spell. It should be done consistently in any area you want protected, but exactly where and how often is entirely up to the practitioner.Ā  What Should I Do Before? Cleanse, a ward is a barrier of energy and in the same way that it keeps things out it also keeps things in. You don’t want to trap anything inside of it. Cleanse yourself before you ward yourself. Cleanse your space before you ward your space!Ā  Tips Before You Ward- Phrasing Keep the phrasing in mind! You don’t want to keep anything out that you want in, or let something in that you want out. If you’re chanting or using sigils ect keep in mind exactly what you want to keep out both in your methods and in your mind. Covering everything Make sure to cover everything, a ward is useless if there’s a weakness in it or if the ceiling & floor aren’t probably covered. Be super thorough!Ā  Layering Your Wards One small little wimpy barrier? Ha, the spirits say as they scramble into your home to wreak havoc! You need to layer your wards, don’t just use one method one time, there’s no such thing as too much warding.Ā  What Are Some Ways That I Can Ward? Now we’ll get right down to the methods you can use to ward yourself and your space! Remember that warding is important and needs to be effective, don’t try anything that you don’t have experience with for warding. At first, focus on the stuff you know. If you like sigils, use sigils at first and slowly work your way into using other more complex methods or methods that solely rely on your abilities. Circle Casting You cast a circle by summoning the four elements to protect & energize what is in the circle.Ā  - Here’s my post about circles & how to cast themĀ  Chanting/Speaking Come up with a protective chant you can use to ward your space. This chant could be someone else’s or your own as long as you feel it’s effective. Speak it aloud and visualize a layer of energy protecting your space.Ā  Incense Burn a protective incense in the space you’d like to ward and visualize a barrier protecting your space. Athame Draw out the line of your ward with your athame, visualize the wall appearing, covering everything with a thick layer of energy.Ā  Spraying Spray a mix of blessed/magickal waters and or herbs with protective properties in the space you want to ward.Ā  Sigils Create a sigil using your favorite method with the intent toĀ ā€œwardā€ orĀ ā€œprotect/protection.ā€ Then charge and activate it as a layer of protection! Here’s my post on sigils if you’re interested in that: - Sigil Post Jar Spells You could mix up a jar spell for warding, set it in your house and forget it as a layer of warding.Ā  - My protective jar spell post Anointment Anoint the doorways of your space, you could also anoint the ceiling, floor, walls, corners, honestly go for it.Ā  Salt Sprinkle salt all around the edge of your home or space. Make sure to sprinkle salt on the INSIDE of your harm as salt can harm plants & wildlife if used outside. If you’d like to make a barrier on the outside of your home, you can use dried & crushed eggshells in place of salt. - Post on how to make eggshell powder here -Ā  Hag stones Hag stones are stones with holes in them that have been corroded into the stone because of rushing water. It is believed rushing water is protective & cleansing so if you wear a stone that sat in it long enough to have parts corroded away, that the stone will maintain and keep those properties with it. It’s a great way to personally ward yourself, and an excuse to go out in nature.Ā  They look like this!Ā

image

Energy Manipulation If you’ve got a knack for manipulating energy, you can create a barrier through work and visualization that surrounds yourself or your space. This isn’t recommended for beginners though! Links: - Horse Warding Charm By @anothersusurrus - House Warding Spritz Mixture By @seleneblackwell Both of these are great if you’re looking for specific spells, types of magick, correspondences, sigils, ect! - Protection Magic Masterpost Part 1 By @auricwitch - Protection Magic Masterpost Part 2 By @auricwitch Personal Wards Also remember not just to ward your space but yourself, if you layer your home with wards, what happens when you leave? Exactly. Keep yourself safe too! Circle casting & hag stones are great methods I mentioned above that are good for personal warding.Ā  Can I Ward Specific Things And Not Others? Absolutely! I mentioned this in the phrasing section of this post, keep in mind exactly what you want to keep out when you’re warding. I like words likeĀ ā€œnegativeā€ orĀ ā€œharmfulā€ orĀ ā€œwith ill intentā€ because they don’t necessarily keep out the Fae or positive/neutral spirits but it does keep out anything that wants to harm you in general. Just think about it ahead of time, find wording or a phrase you like and keep that in mind as you ward.Ā  What If I Live With People? If you’re out of the broom closet, explain to your family/roommates what you’re doing and why you’re doing it and make sure they’re cool with it and are aware of what’s going on. If you’re not out of the broom closet, you may have to resort to only warding yourself/your room, & that’s okay!Ā  I hope this helps someone or teaches them something new! Enjoy! Have a lovely day šŸ’–

UPDATE: Patches are up for grabs now! Limited run!

__________________

Update: 11/23 WOW. Firstly, I’m totally overwhelmed and honored by the response this piece has gotten. Seeing it resonate with so many people has sincerely moved me. I’m so incredibly happy that it means different things to different people.

A couple people have sent me messages asking if they could have my blessing to get the Ouroboros tattoo’d on them.

The short answer to that is- absolutely. I would be honored. If you do so please tag me! I would love to see the final product=^} this is a very personal piece to me and I hope to get it on myself soon.

However; I am apprenticing to become a tattoo artist myself and while there is absolutely no pressure, I would greatly appreciate anyone using the design as a tattoo to consider donating to my donate links any small tip they could spare to help support my art as I pursue this career. It’s really tough now doing unpaid work during the pandemic and It would really help me since I can’t afford to currently reproduce any designs. (Donate: www.paypal.com/paypalme/Tagtaylorsit) again, absolutely no pressure. I know times are tough.

If you feel inspired by the Ouroboros and would like to do your own artwork that is totally fine, who am I to stop another artist from expressing themselves? If you would like to draw this particular design on something (someone talked about painting it on their jacket, which I thought was really cool) I am cool with that as well. However; I would like to produce a small run of patches or pins of this design so I do ask that you refrain from selling products using my art.

If everyone who got this tattoo’d on them gave me 10 bucks, I’d be able for afford a proper tattoo machine, which would greatly help me during this apprenticeship.

=^) I love reading everyone’s stories about how they are ending toxic cycles in different forms in their lives and support all of you in your battles. Thank you all so much.

What surprised me in Peru

I have been in Peru for almost 4 weeks now. I haven’t seen much yet as I a have been volunteering in the same town for 3 weeks but I really do like it so far! People are super chill, the food is delicious and the little town I’m staying is awesome for surfing :)Ā  However, there were a few things that surprised me since I got here ^^ Here are a few examples:Ā

Speed bumps: Ok I really love Peru, but can you guys stop with speed bumps??? Honestly there are everywhere, super high and wide and also SUPER annoying. No sign to warn us, no official size, just BOOM a speed bump (thank god I’m not driving!). Also drivers honk ALL the time, sometimes for no reason at all.Ā

The variety of climates and landscapes: Peru is quite big so obviously there are quite a different climates here, but that much variety is incredible. On one side of the country you have the biggest rainforest on earth, and where I am right now it’s super dry, no vegetation, just sand and dust. And obviously there are also a lot of mountains with the Andes. It’s almost 30°C where I am now and only a few hours from here, it’s snowing, like how cool is that?Ā

The desert: It’s always been my dream to see what the desert looks like, and now I’ve seen one. Thank you Peru! (I always thought I would see the desert in Africa, but nope, the earth is full of surprises^^)

People are very helpful: In France and the vast majority of countries I’ve visited, when you ask someone for a direction, they will explain you were it is with words and gestures. But here in Peru (and I noticed the same thing in Costa Rica, is that a Latin America thing??) people actually walk with you to your destination, even if it’s quite far. And like, THANK YOU!!!??? Why do people do that? At first I thought it was a weird thing of men following me, but no, people really do that because they’re kind, and honestly wow, you would never see that in Europe (at least not in France…). Also I’ve had a lot of people asking me if they could practice their English with me, here is seems like everyone wants to learn English and is actually making a lot of efforts to do so, which is pretty cool :) And a lot of Peruvians also helped me with my Spanish!

People share their beer: I don’t know how it’s done everywhere else, but in Europe (and North America I think?), when you get a bottle of beer, you drink it by yourself. Of course you can ask other people if they want some, but it’s not seen as rude to drink the whole bottle or can be yourself. Here in Peru you are supposed to share everything! Here the rule: don’t drink the whole bottle, pour some in your glass and pass the bottle.Ā

Fireworks: people use fireworks every day, at any time. They don’t necessarilyĀ  need a special occasion to play with them. It’s kinda weird to hear fireworks for no reason all the time but we get used to it ^^

Purple corn: A few weeks ago, I had no idea purple corn actually existed. But now I love it, especially in Chicha Morada :)

Honeyed Lips

Honeyed Lips

This glamour is designed to help you appear more persuasive. This can be helpful when applying for a job, public speaking, or convincing friends/family/lovers. BE AWARE - this type of glamour is inherently manipulative and should only be used to help you convince others and make people more inclined to listen to what you have to say.

MATERIALS

10g Shea Butter

10g Beeswax

10g Coconut Oil

1 Tsp Honey (Local if you can)

5 drops Sweet Orange Oil

On a double boiler (medium/low heat) melt the Shea Butter, Beeswax and Coconut Oil. Turn of heat and stir clockwise as you add the Honey and Sweet Orange Oil. Sing as you stir:

Smooth as butter,

Sweet as honey,

Enchant my words,

To be bright and sunny.

With honeyed lips,

And charming smiles,

Those who hear me

Are not hostile.

To my words,

They shall listen,

And be convinced

By my proposition.

Let it cool in a container of your choice (I like a small metal tin). Once cool, apply to your lips and repeat the above chant. The heat of your lips will activate it.

šŸ–¤ Spell Jar For Protection šŸ–¤

šŸ–¤ Spell Jar for Protection šŸ–¤

Ingredients/Equipment

Chilli Flakes (or Chilli Powder, whatever's around) - to ward off unwanted guests

Rosemary - purification, protection

Salt - absorbing negative energy, protection, purification

Black Pepper (both peppercorns and grounded) - banish negativity, protection from evil

3 Bay Leaves - protection from harmful energies

Protection Sigil or a Banish Negativity Sigil

Preferably Black Candle to seal the jar (white may be used as a substitute as I have done)

A Jar

A Funnel (trust me, if you don't use one shit will go everywhere, make and use a homemade paper funnel if you need to)

Spell Method

Cast a protective circle or do your own pre-spell rituals, whatever works for you and light the candle

Cleanse your equipment and ingredients (I use specific ritual incense but again whatever works for you, sage burning, etc)

Put the ingredients in the jar one at a time, repeating a chosen affirmation for protection with each one. The order doesn't nessicarily matter as the intent is what's most important. However, I recommend leaving the bay leaves until last

Use a marker to draw a sigil that represents protection or banishing negativity on at least one of the bay leaves. If you need to break up the leaves to fit them in the jar that's okay; again, the intention is what's most important

Close the jar and seal it with the wax from the candle

šŸ›” Warding šŸ›”
