*gets absolutely nothing done* well time for a break
I always am about to go to sleep at a beautiful 11pm and then something happens to me
The greatest illusion that books made us believe is that when you suffer, struggle, or are in pain someone will notice. There is nothing more tragic than realizing you are not the character of anyone's story. You're alone, and the only person who will eventually notice is yourself. Nobody will come and save you, no plot twist is granted to happen and change the odds, and it's the greatest lie literature has ever told. Someone will care, others will not, but ultimately you're the only one who has to save themselves, the plot twist happens because you want it to, and that's what makes you the main character of your own story.
reading books like the secret history is always such a wild ride, because i'm fully aware that it's a criticism of aesthetic hedonism and the elitism of academia, and then i'll read a line like " if we are strong enough in our souls we can rip away the veil and look at that naked, terrible beauty right in the face; let God consume us, devour us, unstring our bones. then spit us out reborn" and i go absolutely fucking feral.
Love comes to the door asking for nothing in return. That's how it functions. But the world will knock your door, or may even impolitely bang the door, or may even outrageously break in and see what it can get from you and may even be audacious to sell you off. Don't trade your soul for a paltry gain. You'll recognise in an instance if the one standing by the door is pure love or just another phoney seeking to gain out of you...
Random Xpressions
Once in a while hyenas would laugh hysterically Outside your window when they heard you sob And I joined them standing on two legs
The sea that you filled with your tears Called up a tide to drown the sorrows That had choked you in your sleep
When the winter reached your throat It froze the tonsils that bothered none The work was done and we never spoke again
My coffee could never replace our caustic silence Hidden along with carnations in a diamond mine That you blew up with some homemade dynamite
You promised I could kiss you on the cheek If I gave you my best kept evil lavender secret Without trading I left with the East India company
When the cop approached you with a revolver You raised your white flag arms like a ship About to go down to the ocean floor forsaken
as an empath there are many bony fish species i can’t make eye contact with because their emotions flood my brain at such high pressure it gives me nosebleeds but cartilaginous fish are no problem as 700 years ago i was a smalltooth sawfish

Who will light up the sky and give light to people huh?
Would you steal the stars for me?
u made me break my rules, thats how special u are.
this is a poster i made for my call to action assignment in humanities! it's a bunch of basic and easy stretches for people who sit and work at a desk all day (me)
the idea is that you'd put the poster up above ur desk and do the stretches every 30 minutes or so,, the whole routine won't take more than about 6 minutes to complete and when done regularly it can prevent wrist, shoulder, neck and back pain! :)
all these stretches can be done while sitting (although i HIGHLY recommend you stand up and move around while taking a break from working)
you can get a free digital copy of this poster here on my gumroad!
Sometimes you read a book and sometimes the book reads you
trying new things to stay on track and manage my time — paper and pen lists and fresh air have been a huge help lately 🌿🪷🌞
I don’t want my future to be a compromise.
raining:
sitting close to a window, sure to hear and see the raindrops fall
candles lit, fairy lights strung, the soft orange glow of warmth surrounding you
a desk cluttered, but organised
a laptop with its brightness on low
or a journal spread open with pens ready to be used
quiet
morning:
the soft morning sunlight hitting your (note)books
the scribble of the pen scratching across the paper, writing and memorising
a cup of tea or coffee, the damp curling through the air above it
the soft rattle of music playing in the background
hearing the world wake up along with you
night:
the tired ache of your body after having lived through another day
your mind tired in a way that it won't get distracted easily
sitting down at the desk, on the couch, but steering clear from the bed for fear of falling asleep too soon
candles lit, tea made
either staying in your day clothes or deciding to get ready first
the clean feel of your face as you ready yourself for your study session
library:
walking through the rows of books to find a quiet place
hearing the murmurs of other students trying to grasp their mind around their study materials
the table in the back corner of the library, a big window in front, lined with bookshelves on either side
setting your stuff down and making that little place yours, if only just for a little while
working away, not noticing time go by, suddenly the soft glow of golden hour falls onto your work
the quiet murmurs and laughs of other students have faded away
being proud of what you've achieved
what a shame doctors don’t prescribe vacation to secluded seaside towns like they used to
please don’t forget to drink water and get some sunlight because you’re basically a houseplant with complicated emotions.
“It’s been a long week,” I say in the middle of the day on Monday.
