- cleaning your room and finding old souvenirs from places you’ve been, notes left in blazer and cardigan pockets - religiously drinking out of only the swirly straw cup you bought from the national space museum all those years ago - looking at old polaroids, trying to commit every blurry inch of the pictures to memory - reading old notes you passed in class back from when you loved him - reading your old text messages with him, laughing, crying and cringing, til tears patter onto your screen - thinking of better days, back then with them (and you) i felt inspired again today, i was cleaning out my room and found lots of old notes and pictures and spent an hour looking at them and thinking til i cried, kind of wishing i was the same naive 13 year old. looking back at my intro at the start of this page makes me happy and sad, even if i haven’t been the most active or followed user, i remember every single post i’ve written and what i thought when writing them, all the emotions. it’s weird and miserable and magical (get that 22 reference ;) yes taysway) until next time with all the love a person can possibly muster, Amimi
the concept of waking up and getting out is just as magical no? leaving the little universe inside your head and going on an adventure in the big wide world, but this time you meet real people with their own little universes and leave real lasting impressions on them - even if its the most mundane place or scenario, the fact that its real is magical and fascinating to me in itself
i think the concept of dreaming is so mundanely magical. even when we are asleep our brain comes up with scenarios which we usually cannot control. of course some of them are unpleasant - i’m no stranger to nightmares myself - but there are dreams where i go to other worlds and dreams where i can fly and meet my favourite characters. even the wackier ones are magical in their own way, making us decipher their meaning and leaving a lasting impression on us. i just love how personal dreams are. they come directly from our mind, no one else can see them. it’s our own little universe.
not me reblogging this so i can take my own advice, kind of in a quarantine slump right now and online lesson isn’t the best - yesterday was literally the last day of online school so i’m planning to use the holiday as time to catch up and submit work that i’ve missed. wish me luck!
bruh, do your work to *the best of your ability* and then enjoy your break, we don’t like slackers who do everything last minute (remember to take breaks inbetween short periods of working)
- dancing in the rain, no music, just heavy heavy rain - being surprised with glow in the dark stars stuck on the ceiling in pitch black while leaning on one another - learning to ice/roller skate with your partner - blanket forts and pjs, watching whatever cheesy movies you used to love as a kid - bike rides at night, preferably when its sweater weather season - nerf gun wars while diving behind furniture ( or level that up to paintballing as a team ) - aquariums ( standing together in dark spots surrounded by the dim glow of the tanks is the most romantic thing ) - last but not least, romantic and simplistic, just talking while sitting down and facing eachother for hours and hours (this wasn’t a dark academic post like normal but oh well lol - if you liked this post you’ll also like the post i did titled da dates noone will do w/ me - check that out!) - Amimi
- revision guides, revision guides REVISION GUIDES! did i mention revision guides? trust me on this, i was failing science recently and my brother gave me a bunch of his old revision guides since he’s off to uni and they help sooo much. ask your teachers about material in your subjects, flag it down in your revision books (i do this with those lil neon sticky notes) and study, study, study (reblogged a post or two on learning material for those who may need it - indirect recommendation from stalking my friend @mohkomx) revise, rinse and repeat (make sure to takes breaks inbetween!) - going hand in hand with revision guides, studying from books, it reduces screentime and is just better for your eyes mind and health in general (plus i find i remember way more from books then from reading from my laptop?) - music in the background, best to use plain stuff like lofi since i tend to find stuff with lyrics distracting (i listen to lofi livestreams on youtube) or plain piano - here’s my favourite list of songs!. if you’re from a noisy household like me, invest a pair of noise blocking headphones but don’t blast music, keep it at a medium-low sound level -last but not least, notes are key, minimalist, highlighter-freak, whatever you are make sure you take proper notes and keep them neat. imagine you’re taking them for someone who’s life rests on your very nice note-taking shoulders. reading back on them really does help. til next time! Amimi
my laptop broke a week and a half ago and my teachers were to say the least *unsympathetic*. i’m really behind on online work (especially, science, french and maths) like i feel motivated, especially since i’ve come across the “eat the frog” method but the minute i sit in front of my work, its as if my hands can’t move and my brain just walks on out me? i’m determined to get back on track through this half term holiday though. wish me luck! til next time Amimi

i’ve been in such a weird phase lately, like normally i do pretty well on exams and tests and pay attention and keep everything neat but the other day i got less then 50% on a test and i just didn’t care? i’m weirded out by my own reactions lol. i can’t tell if i’m just losing my touch or if its because i’ve been so disconnected since returning to school from quarantine
how would you all feel about me mixing it up with books and movie content on here? constantly writing about dark academia can be quite exhausting for my imagination. maybe throw in some light and grey academia?
- live in either a big city or a quaint little town in the countryside, there is no in between - sending pressed flowers, newspaper scraps of recent events or blackout poetry on ripped out book pages with letters -hoarding all the small things and letters and keeping them in your satchel to read in the library you work at -waiting in anticipation for the next letter and getting a bit too excited when it arrives
- going to a theatre and watching a Shakespearean play - going to a planetarium or stargazing and sitting in a comfortable silence - spending time huddled up in a library back to back or gazing at eachother through shelves - writing dates where you meet up and write something together or seperately and exchange writing pieces at the end - watch harry potter together while in a pillow or blanket fort til next time ~Amimi
not mine, all credit goes to the original creators i just thought they were beautiful
curling up in the corner of a public library and pretending you live there
taking pictures of the ruins of your local cathedral because you need those aesthetic pictures for your blog
staring longingly at the tweed jacket you’ll never afford in the shop window
wearing the same red turtleneck (the only one you happen to own) in every outfit you can in a hundred different ways
staring longingly at the tweed jacket in the shop window
impulsively buying the tweed jacket and putting yourself in financial debt for the sake of aesthetic (totally worth it)
recommend me some in my ask box!
the rain and the empty streets and silence makes me want to sneak out at night with my black scarf covering my nose and mouth and break into an vintage bookshop and just sit there and read til dawn then leave with precious manuscripts handwritten by the author (preferably jk rowling and harry potter)
group outings to old historical buildings and libraries
the looks given to each other when you already know the material from spending your spare time in the library together, reading it for fun
musing with one another in a language that noone around understands (preferably latin)
quoting philosophers and authors during casual conversation
swooning together about the overpriced tweed jacket you saw in the window
looking over your opposing balconies and flying paper plane notes with inscriptions to one another
inspired by a post i saw on pinterest but didn’t get the chance to pin because i lost it in the depths of my feed ~Amimi
i haven’t posted since new years. god i’ve been away a long time. school has really kept me busy recently. especially since i’ve started my art exam for gcses which has been excruciating due to being behind on coursework but i hope to do well! studyblr posts and such coming soon!
hey hey hey! so i was holding off on this post since at first i didn’t really want to just tell you what to buy and you go off and get it. n o. n o. n o. that’s not how we do it here. instead i’m going to make a few suggestions and things that may aspire you so you can adapt and play with these to suit yourself! alright so first things first: c o l o u r s - think autumn (the season where all dark academics come out from their underground hideouts and late night cafes and explore the surface) - think maroons and dark plumes, oranges and mustards, reds of all different shades (we like to keep it diverse here) and dark greens next things next: items of clothing i think as long as you stick to the color scheme most things should work out fine but a lot of people seem to think turtlenecks and expensive tweed jackets are a must when in reality that’s not the case (tbh all i have is one turtleneck) - think blazers and plaid shirts and denim jackets with wristwatches and pendants - think mom jeans and thin belts and sweaters (mixing it up a lil) or even an off-white tshirt with a fitting print
and last things last: y o u so as much as the dark academia fandom distinctly wears and deems as dark academic i think you should be able to wear whatever you like -you’re here because you like the look and feel of it but what about those who can’t afford it or just don’t feel comfortable? those are my exact thoughts honestly wear what you think suits you at the end of the day stick with the basic colours and/or vibe and boom! academic
just in case your still a bit stuck:

so i’ve just started putting in effort to make all my notes in all subjects neat and have figured out the following things: - writing scrawled across notebook pages are aesthetic too - its not just for the aesthetic it actually really helps in studying too and most importantly you don’t need expensive stationary honestly anything will do. for the dark academics and studyblrs who aren’t able to afford muji pens and stabilo highlighters here are a few tips - a pen and a ruler (and maybe a single colored pen and/or highlighter) will be more than enough - be creative with what you already have ( writing your title and subheadings differently with a lil effort or a cloud bubble round a key fact can make all the difference believe it or not) if you really really want pastels and such here’s some dupes highlighters: https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-chunky-pastel-highlighter-4-pack/p/0481344
https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-slim-highlighters-pastel-4-pack/p/0481346 https://www.therange.co.uk/stationery/pens-and-pencils/pens/highlighters/pack-of-six-pastel-highlighters/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjtfZ3IC25gIVx7HtCh1uoQOUEAQYCSABEgJAOfD_BwE#203958 pens: i honestly think any good pen will do (when i say good i mean a pen that doesn’t smudge and runs relatively smooth ) so basically any ballpoint pen but if ya really wanna know then these are the ones i’ve been using lately https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/paper-mate-inkjoy-black-ballpoint-pens-8-pack/p/0432408 not the exact ones but as close as i could find i hope you found this post helpful! ~til next time Amimi
hey hey hey! paris was awesome! took a bunch of polaroids so the aesthetic is on fleek. disneyland really was awesome, best part of the trip for sure! i cried so badly at the Illuminations light and firework show that i forgot to take a picture. my first time seeing fireworks! i ended up standing there in utter awe and sobbing hysterically while staring at the pretty pretty pretty lights -although, the hotel was awful, dirty bedsheets gave me an acne breakout and there was a cockroach and the worlds biggest spider hiding in the corners on the ceiling and i vomited on the ferry and the coach to the horror of the girl sitting next to me, she was cool though, she let me sleep on her shoulder and seemed unfazed by it all, im not going to let those things ruin it for me, rather i’d prefer to look back at the trip fondly. overall it was awesome
Note to self: Next time bring your own bedsheets and sick tablets ~Amimi
I’m considering mixing in a bunch of studyblry things into this blog, should i?
Winter is here!! Going on a trip to Paris today, dear god. The fashion, the colors, buildings and such everything is just so aesthetically pleasing. I’ll be sure to post all about it when I’m back on Sunday Til then ~Amimi
