This is my Art vs Artist 2022!!

The photo is quite old (I haven't changed much), but I haven't found one where I’m not wearing pajamas!

If last year was weird, this one has taken the cake! Although I can't complain, this year has also brought me beautiful projects and wonderful moments!

ES|| “A ti que te encuentras al otro lado de estas palabras, Como explicarte cómo han sido estos últimos años, para mí se podría decir que han sido unos años para crecer, como una flor que crece en medio de las piedras de un muro, unos años de diferencias y cambios, unos años impredecibles donde las cosas que me han marcado quizás no son las que se esperaban, porque si algo me ha quedado claro es que cada uno ha vivido su propia historia paralela a la historia común, seguramente todas distintas, algunas más dramáticas, otras más alegres, con mil detonantes y experiencias diferentes... En mi caso ha habido de todo: pizcas y puñados de miles de emociones y pensamientos entrelazados. A veces miro el mundo y no entiendo nada (…) Me preocupa hacia dónde vamos como especie, el cambio climático, el machismo, el racismo, la homofobia, las guerras, el capitalismo, la desaparición constante de especies,... Demasiado a menudo ignorando las señales de peligro, incapaces de mirar el futuro, estancados en el pasado, no aceptando la diferencia y juzgando sin cesar. Sólo deseo que todavía estemos a tiempo de cambiar el rumbo que hace años empezamos. A lo largo de mi vida, poco a poco he ido descubriendo la importancia que para mí tiene la naturaleza, he aprendido a centrarme en los pequeños placeres de la vida, el calor en la piel cuando el Sol ilumina el cielo, el calor en las manos de una taza de té en una noche fría, la suavidad del algodón, la frescura de la sandía en verano, la melodía de los pájaros a media tarde, los colores y tonos de las flores y de los árboles, las conversaciones que duran hasta la madrugada, una buena historia, el calor del contacto con otra piel, el trazo de un pincel (…)” Este es un fragmento de la carta que escribí, si queréis ver la impresionante pieza que inspiró buscad en el perfil de @martinadaurart la pintura “Hygge”. Aquí tenéis un pequeño fragmento de mi ilustración para la expo colectiva “Resiliències” por @maletasviejas en @cctrinitatvella.

ES|| Esta ilustración original formara parte de la exposición solidaria “Postales des del Limbo” @postaleslimbo que se inaugura mañana en Zaragoza. La exposición esta formada por postales de diferentes artistas. Todas la postales son de 13x18 cm y solo están firmadas por el reverso, de manera que el comprador no podrá saber de quien es la obra que está comprando hasta que ya esté en sus manos. Otra de las singularidades de esta exposición es que el precio de las obras irá disminuyendo des del primer día de la exposición, es decir mañana viernes 25 al ultimo día, la mañana del lunes 28. Aunque cada día habrá menos obras expuestas, ya que las obras irán abandonando las paredes a medida que los visitantes las vayan comprando. Todos los beneficios serán donados de manera integra a la fundación Centro de Solidaridad de Zaragoza – Proyecto hombre. Esta rosa canina está dibujada con portaminas de colores y pintada con acuarelas, gouache y anilinas, también tiene texturas de lápices de colores acuareables y polychromos. EN|| This original illustration will be part of the charity exhibition "Postcards from Limbo" that opens tomorrow in Zaragoza. The exhibition shows postcards from different artists. All the postcards are 13x18cm and have the artist signature on the back, so the buyer will not be able to know whose work he’s buying until it’s in his hands. Another singularity of this exhibition is the price of the works, it’ll be decreasing from the first day of the exhibition (Friday 25th) to the last day (Monday 28th). Although every day there’ll be fewer works on display, since the works will leave the walls as visitors buy them. All profits will be donated in full to Zaragoza Solidarity Center Foundation. This wild rose is made with colored mechanical pencils, watercolors, gouache, anilines, watercolor colored pencils and polychromos.

ES || Para esta época del año, con tantas supuestas lluvias y cambios de temperatura, es genial despertarse y beber en ayunas un vaso de agua tibia con limón. Es un remedio natural que ayuda a las defensas, ya que aporta vitamina C, potasio y flavononas, favorece la digestión y además es depurativo y alcalinizante. La receta es fácil, exprimir el jugo de un limón, poner a calentar un vaso de agua hasta que este tibia y, finalmente, añadir el jugo del limón al agua caliente. Si quieres darle un toque más cítrico y potenciar los beneficios del limón, en cambio de solo calentar el agua puedes hervirla con unos trozos de piel del mismo limón, después la dejas enfriar hasta que este tibia y le añades el jugo del limón! Como con todos los remedios no a todo el mundo le van bien las mismas cosas, mi recomendación es escuchar a tu propio cuerpo. Además por su acidez no esta recomendado para las personas que tienen los dientes delicados.🍋 EN || For this time of year, with so many supposed rains and changes in temperature, it’s great to wake up and drink a glass of warm water with lemon juice on an empty stomach. It’s a natural remedy that helps defenses, as well as it provides vitamin C, potassium and flavanones, promotes digestion and is also purifying and alkalizing. The recipe is easy, squeeze the juice from one lemon, heat a glass of water until it’s warm and, finally, add the lemon juice to the warm water. If you want to give it a more citric touch and enhance the benefits of the lemon, instead of just warming the water you can boil it with the lemon peel, then let it cool until it’s just warm enough to drink it and add the lemon juice! As with all remedies, not everyone reacts the same so my recommendation is to listen to your own body. Also, due to its acidity, it’s not recommended for people who have delicate teeth.🍋

EN|| Here you can see the last postcard that was left for me to show you from the series I made for the "Power in numbers 7" at @gallerynucleus . Remember it opens this Saturday, September 3rd in Alhambra, CA along with the works of other wonderful artists. In this blue-toned postcard you can see a baby toucan accompanied by funny bees and a curious butterfly between a bunch of branches and leaves.🐝 I recently saw for the first time a video of some adorable baby toucans and I couldn't resist drawing them, with those giant blue eyes! I love discovering new animals such as Goodfellow's Tree-Kangaroos, Atelopus barbotine, Greater Glider, Spotted Skunk, Marbled Polecat, Red cheeked wattle eye, Colugos, Quoll, Siberian Flying Squirrel and many others. I can spend hours looking for endangered animals on the web or watching videos of wild animals!! ES|| Aquí tenéis la ultima postal que me faltaba para enseñaros y que estará en el “Power in numbers 7” en @gallerynucleus este sábado 3 de setiembre en Alhambra, CA junto a las obras de otros maravillosos artistas. En esta postal de tonos azules podéis ver un bebé tucán acompañado de divertidas abejas y una curiosa mariposa. Hace poco vi por primera vez un video de unos adorables bebes de tucán y no pude resistirme a dibujarlos, con esos ojos gigantes y azules!🐝 Me encanta descubrir nuevos animales, como los canguros arborícolas de Goodfellow, el petauro gigante, la mofeta moteada, el turón jaspeado, el batiis carunculado de Blisset, la atelopus barbotini, el colugo, el quoll, la ardilla voladora siberiana y muchos otros. Puedo pasarme horas buscando animales en peligro de extinción o mirando videos de animales salvajes!!

Esta, a diferencia de la de hace un año, es en formato vertical, tiene más personajillos y, junto al caracol, los peces y a un tucán, estarán en la exposición colectiva de “Power in number 7” de @gallerynucleus que se inaugura el 3 de septiembre en Alhambra CA. La postal entera, como las demás, hace 5”x 7” y esta hecha con acuarelas, gouache, polychromos y neocolors. Recordad que la exposición debutará solo en persona y es “cash and carry”. EN|| I’m so excited to share another one of the pieces that will be in @gallerynucleus Power In Numbers 7 collective exhibition alongside a ton of amazing artists! This time is a little snail loving her life surrounded by bees and pomegranades! In this close up you can see next to the illustration the color tests I did while I was painting. 🐌♥️ All the postcards are 5”x7” and made using gouache, watercolor, neocolors, polychromos and watercolor pencils. The show will debut in person only and is cash and carry, meaning once a piece is purchased the buyer takes it home with them rather than be on display the duration of the entire show. ES|| Aquí tenéis el retrato finalizado de la adorable Haizea que seguro que allá donde esté estará corriendo entre la nieve o entre las flores y las mariposas y durmiendo en sofás y camas muy altas, tal y como le gustaba a ella! Es increíble lo mucho que se hecha de menos a estas criaturitas peludas… Ella no vivía conmigo pero sus visitas era maravillosas y seguro que seguiré echando de menos sus miradas pidiendo compañía (o comida!). La verdad es que ya hace bastante que tenia acabada esta ilustración pero hasta ahora no os lo había enseñado, no sé si ha sido por todo el trabajo que tenia entre manos o si no me veía con ánimos para ello… En fin! Espero haber captado toda su belleza y ternura! ♥️ Deseo que os guste! EN|| Here’s the finished portrait of the adorable Haizea who wherever she is I’m sure is running in the snow or among the flowers and butterflies, and sleeping on very high sofas and beds, just the way she loved it! It's amazing how much these furry little creatures are missed when they are gone... She didn't live with me but her visits were wonderful and I'm sure I'll continue to miss her and her looks asking for company (or food!). To tell you the truth it's been a while since I finished this illustration but until now I hadn't shown it to you, I don't know if it was because of all the work I had in my hands or if I didn't have the strength for it... Anyway! I hope I’ve captured all of her beauty and tenderness! ♥️ I wish you like it!

Summer☀️ has many good things, but there’s one that surely no one misses: the rise of mosquitoes 🦟 with their threatening noise at night and their sneaky bites. So far this summer I’ve been lucky and I haven’t had the kind of giant sting that swells, turns red and hot and stings a lot, but other years I have not had the same luck and researching the plants, their properties and different natural remedies, I discovered this natural poultice for these occasions.🌱 

The recipe is very easy, you just need to crush and mix the following ingredients (better if they’re organically grown!):

🔹Oat flakes crushed or powder oat, since oat is very effective against skin inflammation. 🔹Chamomile infusion because chamomile has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. 🔹Fresh basil, which contains eugenol, a compound that helps fight itching and pain. 🔹Fresh rosemary, in addition to having similar properties to basil, is a natural antiseptic.

Once the mixture is made, we just have to put it to cool in the fridge so it can give us the cold effect that will also help with the swelling and it’ll be ready to apply to the affected area.

If you don’t see any improvement, or it looks bad or you’ve an allergic reaction go quickly to the doctor!

El verano tiene muchísimas cosas buenas, pero hay una que seguro que nadie hecha de menos: el auge de mosquitos con su ruidito amenazador por la noche y sus picaduras a traición. De momento en lo que llevamos de verano he tenido suerte y aún no he tenido una picadura de esas gigantes que se hinchan, se ponen rojas y calientes y pican una barbaridad, pero otros años no he tenido la misma suerte y investigando las plantas, sus propiedades y diferentes remedios naturales, descubrí esta cataplasma natural para estas ocasiones. La receta es muy fácil, solo hace falta triturar y mezclar los siguientes ingredientes (mejor si son de cultivo ecológico i proximidad!): - Copos de avena en polvo o polvo de avena, ya que la avena es muy eficaz contra las inflamaciones de la piel. - Infusión de manzanilla porque la manzanilla posee propiedades antiinflamatorias y analgésicas. - Albahaca fresca, la cual contiene eugenol, un compuesto que ayuda a combatir el picor y el dolor. - Romero fresco, además de tener propiedades similares a la albahaca es un antiséptico natural. Una vez hecha la mezcla solo tenemos que ponerla a enfriar en la nevera para que nos aporte el efecto frío que también ayudará con la hinchazón y ya estará lista para aplicar en la zona afectada. Podéis dejarla aplicada en la zona afectada entre 20-30 minutos, y después retirar los restos con agua fría. Si veis que no mejora, que tiene mal aspecto o que algún producto os hace alergia id rápidamente al médico!

Abril es tiempo de dragones así que he pensado que en los próximos días os iré mostrando los dragones que he hecho los años anteriores para celebrar Sant Jordi. Aquí va el primero que hice ya hace unos cuantos años, un dragoncillo azul que lee acomodado dentro de las rosas. Shh! No hagáis ruido no queremos desconcentrarlo!🌷📖 April is the season of dragons so I thought in the next few days I’ll show you the dragons I’ve made in all the previous years to celebrate Sant Jordi (the Catalonian festival of books and roses). Here’s the first one I did a few years ago, a little blue dragon who reads nestled inside a rose. Shh! Don’t make any noise we wouldn't want to deconcentrate it!🌷📖

ES|| Ya quedan poquitos días para Sant Jordi, la fiesta del libro y la rosa, esos días en los que las calles de Barcelona se llenan de historias, de paginas y de vida. Siempre me ha gustado imaginar que los días de después son como en esta ilustración, todo de gente con sus libros nuevos, regalados o prestados leyendo en cada rincón posible, entrando y saliendo de esos mundos invisibles contenidos en unas cuantas paginas de papel. Esta ilustración ya tiene unos cuantos años pero aún no había visto la luz. Forma parte de ese tipo de trabajos que haces y parece que no van a acabar nunca. En este caso, entre covid y las peripecias de la vida, quedó en el aire, con un futuro incierto… Quizás algún día acabe publicada en el formato para el que estuvo pensada, pero, mientras tanto, podéis disfrutar de este trocito y imaginaros de que trata cada uno de los libros que están leyendo los personajes! Espero que disfrutéis estos días de pascua y, por que no, que leáis muchos libros mientras os tomáis un ratito de relax. ☀️ EN|| There’re only a few days left for Sant Jordi, the festival of the book and the rose, those days when the streets of Barcelona are filled with stories, pages and life. I’ve always liked to imagine the days after this festival like in this illustration, with all the people with their new books, reading in every possible corner, entering and leaving those invisible worlds contained in a few pages of paper. This illustration is already a few years old but it hadn't seen the light of day yet. It’s part of that type of work you do and it seems that it’ll never end. In this case, between covid and the vicissitudes of life, it was left up in the air, with an uncertain future... Perhaps one day it’ll end up published in the format for which it was intended, but in the meantime, you can enjoy this close up and imagine what kind of books every character is reading! I hope you enjoy these Easter days and, why not, you read many books while you take a little while to relax.☀️

ES || Ya estamos en la primera semana de Abril!! ☀️ La parra que tengo en el balcón empieza a revivir sacando todas sus nuevas hojitas verdes, el Sol sale resplandeciente cada mañana, las palomas torcaces ya inspeccionan los nísperos para poder-los degustar justo al madurar y yo, por fin, he acabado dos de los tres proyectos que tenia entre manos! A pesar de esto aún seguiré liada unos cuantos días y no sé si podré pasarme por aquí muy a menudo, así que, de momento, aquí os dejo un esbozo de parte de uno de los proyectos en los que he estado trabajando últimamente, una rosa silvestre para celebrar el mes de Abril! Esta ilustración ya tiene unos añitos, pero aún me encantan los colores brillantes que me transportan en un flash a los recuerdos de las navidades de cuando era pequeñita, con todos los papeles estampados de los regalos, las luces y la bolas de los arboles de navidad. This illustration is already a few years old, but I still love the bright colors that transport me in a flash to my Christmas memories of when I was little girl, with all the stamped and colorful papers of the gifts, the lights and the Christmas tree balls . ES || La navidad ya está a la vuelta de la esquina, seguro que a estas fechas ya tenéis todos los regalitos para vuestros seres queridos, pero si aun no sabéis que pedir a Papa Noel, los reyes o el tió, os traigo una idea: El calendario Montessori del año que viene! Lo podéis encontrar en catalán de @estrellapolareditorial y en castellano de @kidsplanetlibros . Este año viene repleto de naturaleza, representando las diferentes estaciones del año en diferentes entornos. Cada mes tiene una actividad Montessori para los más peques y dos actividades extra al final. También podréis encontrar los días importantes señalados, así como el cambio de luna! Además viene con una pagina de pegatinas para poder colocarlas en tus días especiales, los días que hace un sol alucinante, los días de lluvia, los cumpleaños, las excursiones, etc. Y si te quedas sin pegatinas siempre puedes hacer tu los dibujos, escribir o pegar gomets (o pegatinas de toda la vida) de colores!☀️🍁❄️🌻 EN || Christmas is just around the corner, surely at this time you already have all the gifts for your loved ones, but if you still don’t know what to ask Santa Claus, the three kings or the “tió”, I bring you an idea: The calendar Montessori next year! You can find it in Catalan and Spanish. This year is full of nature, representing the different seasons of the year in different environments. Each month comes with a Montessori activity for the little ones and two plus activities at the end. It also has the important days marked, as well as the change of the moon! Moreover it comes with a page of stickers to be able to place them on your special days, the days with an amazing sun, the rainy days, the birthdays, the excursions, etc. And if you run out of stickers, you can always draw, write or use your own colored stickers!☀️🍁❄️🌻

ES || Yo ya hace tiempo que voy con calcetines de lana y duermo con dos nórdicos pero debo confesar que ahora ya estoy en modo navidad total! Ya he hecho maratones de pelis navideñas, he leído libros de navidad y incluso estoy leyendo un libro-adviento “How Winston came home for Christmas” de Alex T Smith, sobre un ratón adorable que busca a otro ratoncito muy especial. Para seguir con este espíritu navideño aquí tenéis un encargo personalizado navideño. Que os parece la carita adorable del este ciervo de las nieves? ¿Desearíais feliz Navidad con él a vuestros seres queridos? Ya sé que papa Noel viaja con renos voladores pero yo puedo imaginármelo cabalgando en el aire frio del bosque, entre arboles, en medio de la nieve. Ah! provecho para desearos unas Felices Fiestas!!❄️❄️ EN || I’ve been wearing wool socks since long time ago and I sleep with two duvets but I must confess that now I’m in total Christmas mode! I've already done Christmas movie marathons, I've read Christmas books and I'm even reading an Advent-book "How Winston came home for Christmas" by Alex T Smith, about an adorable mouse looking for another very special little mouse. To continue with this Christmas spirit here you have a personalized Christmas project. What do you think of the adorable face of this snow deer? Would you wish your loved ones a merry Christmas with it? I know Santa Claus travels with flying reindeers but I can imagine him riding in the cold air of the forest, between the trees, in the middle of the snow. Ah! ES || Este año ha sido bastante raro, un año de altos y bajos. A diferencia de otros años, pocas ilustraciones con muchos detalles y personajes, de hecho muchas piezas grandes y pequeñas se quedan en el tintero en diferentes partes del proceso, con un poco de suerte antes de que finalice el año podré acabar alguna. En cambio ha sido un año de retratos de animales, de experimentación con acuarelas, panpastels, lápices de colores, gouache y otras técnicas tradicionales, pero también con illustrator y procreate. A pesar de todo, una cosa continua siendo igual, mucha naturaleza por todos lados!🌿 EN || This year has been quite rare, a year of ups and downs. Unlike other years, I’ve done few illustrations with many details and characters, in fact many large and small pieces still remain in different parts of the process, hopefully before the end of the year I will be able to finish some of them. Instead it has been a year of animal portraits, experimentation with watercolors, panpastels, colored pencils, gouache and other traditional techniques, but also with illustrator and procreate. In spite of everything, one thing remains the same, a lot of nature everywhere!🌿

Un pequeño detalle de las flores de la ilustración de Haizea. No sé si os acordareis pero Haizea es la galgo que os enseñé hace un tiempo cuando tenia la ilustración a medias, pronto os mostraré la ilustración acabada entera, la verdad es que cuando la miro muero de amor! Estos días vuelvo a estar liada, como una pequeña abejita. Después de un descanso involuntario vuelvo a dibujar flores y frutas saludables para un nuevo proyecto! Se nota que me encanta la naturaleza?🌻 A small close up of the flowers in the “Haizea” illustration. In fact when I look at her I die of love! These days I’m busy again, like a little bee. After an involuntary break I’m back drawing healthy flowers and fruits for a new project! It shows that I really love nature?🌻

ES|| Hoy os enseño un proyecto diferente, un proyecto que surgió inesperadamente hace un par de veranos y que mezcla dos disciplinas muy diferentes. Cuando estoy estresada y necesito relajarme urgentemente me encanta cocinar, en especial me chiflan los postres y pasteles con poco azúcar y mucho chocolate (o con té matcha). También me encanta la fruta, sobre todo si es de agricultura ecológica, y no me gusta nada desperdiciar la comida. Si juntamos todo esto hay una receta que es perfecta: la MERMELADA! La mermelada evita que el exceso de fruta o que la fruta que está demasiado madura para poderla consumir fresca acabe en la basura y, al contrario, la podamos consumir todo el año. Quería que las etiquetas fueran cercanas, divertidas, vistosas y dulces como las elaboraciones. Por este motivo opté por hacer del producto principal de cada elaboración un personaje sin genero, simple y simpático, de ojos grandes y colores brillantes. Espero seguir haciendo más personajillos y más recetas de frutas. Otro día prometo daros las recetas de todas las elaboraciones! 🍑 EN|| Today I bring you an unusual project that emerged unexpectedly throughout the summer of two years ago. I say this project is unusual because it mixes two very different disciplines and it taps other forms of creativity. When I'm stressed and in urgently need to relax, cooking is helps me, especially I love to make desserts and bake cakes with little sugar and lots of chocolate or a little of matcha tea. Moreover I absolutely love fruits, especially if they’re from organic farming, and I don’t like to waste food. If we put those two things together there’s a perfect recipe: JAM! Making jam prevents that the excess of fruit or the fruit that is too ripe for fresh consumption ends up being wasted in the trash and, on the contrary, makes it possible for us to consume it all year round. Jam it's great to mix with yogurt, ice cream, kefir, a chocolate cake, cheesecake, ... I wanted the labels to be fun, colorful and as sweet as the elaborations. For this reason I chose to make a non-gender, simple and friendly character, with big eyes and bright colors, for every main product of each of the elaborations.🍑

ES|| Tengo la ilustración de un nuevo animalito, amante de las plantas, en proceso. Solo le queda un poquito más de color y los detalles finales! Se trata de una preciosa greyhound adoptada que es más feliz que una perdiz si la dejas subir a un sofá. Su nombre le va como anillo al dedo, se llama “Haizea”, viento en euskera. Qué bonito es poder dar una segunda vida a un animal en apuros. Si estáis pensando en compartir vuestra vida con un animalito no lo compréis, recordad que hay muchas asociaciones y protectoras como @sosgalgos @galgos112oficial @galgo.espanol.espana @galgosdelsol , que luchan por los derechos de los animales, donde podéis adoptar. Los animales no son un negocio, un objeto o un capricho que comprar y, cuando ya no nos satisface como querríamos, tirarlo o abandonarlo. Es un ser vivo, un amigo y un posible miembro de la familia más! EN|| I have an illustration of a new plant-loving animal in the works. just a little more color and the final details and it’s done! The main character is a beautiful adopted greyhound who is the happiest being in the world if you let her climb on a sofa. Her name fits her like a glove, it's “Haizea”, wind in euskera. It’s wonderful to be able to give a second life to an animal that has suffered. If you are thinking of sharing your life with an animal, do not buy it! Remember there’re many associations like @greyhoundrescue who fight for the animals rights, and where you can adopt a lot of different animals. Animals are not a business, an object or a whim to buy and, when it no longer satisfies us as we would like, throw it away or abandon it. They’re a living being, a friend and a possible new family member!

ES || Aquí tenéis un detalle de las oropéndolas rodeadas de flores i plantas. Aunque parezcan dos especies diferentes de pájaro se trata de una pareja: el macho es de un amarillo vibrante con antifaz, las alas y un trozo de la cola negras, en cambio la hembra cambia el amarillo por un tono mas apagado y verdoso y el negro por un gris amarronado, además tiene una encantadora barriguita de tonos blancos con pintitas oscuras. Curiosamente cuando dibujé estos pajaritos no los había visto nunca, pero no hace mucho pude observar estas preciosas manchas amarillas y negras en el cielo. 🌻🌿

EN || Here’s a detail of the orioles surrounded by flowers and plants. Although they look like two different species of birds, they’re a couple: the male is vibrant yellow with a black piece of the tail, mask and wings, while the female changes the yellow for a more dull and greenish tone and the black for a brownish gray, it also has a beautiful white tummy with cute dark spots. Curiously, when I drew these little birds I had never seen them, but not so long ago I got the chance to see these beautiful yellow and black spots in the sky.🌻🌿
