shout out to hen that, when she realized that eddie was no longer able to answer chris’s questions (after “what are those tubes”), she answered for him, trying to make herself understood as best she could and remaining calm, completely different from eddie who was slowly starting to lose control. and when chris starts talking to buck and eddie starts crying openly, despite trying to remain stoic, hen looks at him, tears in her eyes, and does nothing. bc she understands what it feels like to see the love of your life in that state and she knows the sense of helplessness, and she knows that talking to him, going to hug him, would do absolutely nothing. you can’t ease the pain of that situation.

Something about Eddie telling his own wife to be silent when she was dying, but begging Buck to respond and talk to him when he was actually dead makes me a little insane.

I feel like a big thing with 9-1-1 is that a lot of the people in the production WANT buddie to happen, or at the least would be cool with it, it's just that the executive producers don't want it; So they make a lot of scenes where you get really domestic and close content with no following through and getting the penultimate of those scenes with a confession/relationship.

I lived through the Supernatural Destiel moment and while 911 feels different (because it’s not as big and the actors don’t do conventions and stuff), and I would’ve never called the show queerbaity at all… I am slightly nervous it’ll get to that same queer bait level.

I saw posts about one of the crew members (the cinematographer?) Joaquin who said things like “You got us” about the same type of shirt that Buck and Eddie were wearing, and him “giggling” at Buddie speculation.

The “you got us” to me could technically be taken innocently as him saying “you got us, we did put them in a similar shirt! Good eyes!” But not having any other meaning behind it.

But the fact that he knows people are using it as a Buck x Eddie thing makes it feel a little icky if he knows 100% that the shirt means nothing and Buddie canon isn’t even thought about by the crew.

Same with the sticker on the clapboard/slate. They know what will get them trending and make people react and I just don’t want them to use hopeful fans for social media clot.

The writers have a great opportunity for something awesome. And as much as I want it to happen and I could see how easily it could happen because they literally set it up to happen, I don’t know if the show will be brave enough to have 2 shows (og + spin-off) with no “young, hot, straight, single, classically stereotypically male” characters, since everyone besides Rob Lowe on LS is in a relationship or going to be, and if Buddie goes canon, I think Fox thinks it would lose demographic ratings.

This was more negative than I wanted it to be😂 I just think the writers have set it up so Buddie is the only way, but the more I hope the more terrified I am🤡🤡🤡

I love 9-1-1 as much as the next person, and I love buddie, but this is so fucked up. All of season 8 they've not even been hinting at, but literally blatantly saying this could happen. The words "in love with Eddie" came out of buck's mouth. Ryan and Oliver talk about buddie in a bunch of interviews. I know people think "oh it's slowburn" a SEVEN SEASON slowburn is way too fucking long. It's queerbaiting. They're purposefully hinting at and talking about buddie to get people to watch the show. It's queerbaiting and the show isn't fun anymore. It used to be small things like bumping into each other and only being comfortable with each other but it's so much more than that now. The actors and writers have said that they don't talk to their best friends like that when talking about the "you wanna go for the title" scene. Tommy scoffed at the idea of Eddie being straight and called him the competition. They are having full on couple arguments in their shared kitchen. It's queerbaiting and I'm sick of it. It's getting to be like destiel. It's just annoying and getting impossible to watch at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if buck confessed his love to Eddie and then immediately died and went to superhell. It's not fucking fun to ship them anymore. Plus, Bobby is fucking dead. This show isn't fucking fun anymore.

I’m not the first one to say this but I’ll say it anyway. I don’t want eddie to realize he’s gay. I want him to ACCEPT that he is.

Because while buck did need to have that realisation about himself, because he’s too oblivious about his own feelings to have realized it sooner, I believe eddie should already know this about his sexuality. He just refused to accept it and has been repressing that shit for years.

I want to see eddie finally accept that he’s allowed to be himself and accept his homosexuality. I want him to finally embrace it.

I don’t need another arc of "Oh! I might not be as straight as I thought I was! How nice! This actually explains so much"

I need a "I finally understand I’m allowed to be happy with just being myself and I’m going embrace that part of me instead of forcing myself in a role that doesn’t work for me" moment for him. Because I geniuenly believe it’d work much better with his character.

It would also show a different kind of experience when coming to terms with one’s sexuality, especially for a character in their 30s. Which is nice.

Could also end up with a nice moment between eddie and chris. About how it’s important to live true to yourself, now matter what others think. I feel like it’s the type of things they would talk about, especially after everything that happened with eddie’s parents.

Point is, let eddie already be aware of his homosexuality and let his self discovery journey be about accepting that part of himself after repressing it for so long instead of another realisation about its existence.

Just a rant about buddie maybe becoming canon in 911 season 8 and why it should take time for it to happen

Okay so most of us are expecting (more like hoping but wtv) to have buddie becoming canon this season. Season 8 is expected to be around 18 episodes or so, episode 4 comes out tonight (I have yet to watch it), but if it's really to become canon in s8, I do not want it to happen before the second half of the season and that's being generous. Don't get me wrong, I want them to get together as much as anyone, but if I see it happen in 3 episodes imma be real disappointed. As long as it happen, the longer it takes, the better tbh.

Now, why is that? Well, there's still a lot of things that needs to happen first;

Eddie needs to come out as queer (gay, bi, doesn't matter, as long as he comes out as queer and realizes he likes men)

Buck and Tommy need to break up (I refuse to have buddie start on a cheating scandal. God knows we've had more than enough of that storyline not just in media in general but in 911 as well. Not to mention Eddie literally just got out of one)

Both Buck and Eddie need to realize they have feelings for each other

And finally, they get together

Some of these can happen at the same time, like Eddie could realize he likes men by having the realization he likes Buck. Hell, that could happen before Buck and Tommy break up, giving us some good old jealous Eddie with "one-sided" pining and "unrequited" love (for now). Point is, as long as it doesn't start on a cheating arc, we're good.

If all this happen in 3 episodes, I'm genuinely going to be mad. It's just going to feel rushed and I'm pretty sure most of us would hate that. It needs to be a slow burn. The slowest slow burn ever seen. It could be beautiful.

Which is why I think they need to become canon at least during the second half of the season minimum. The latter the better.

That's not to say they can't have feelings for each other before that though. By them becoming canon I mean them actually starting a relationship. They can pine, they can flirt, they can have their own angsty moment thinking it's unrequited. But actually legit dating?? No. That needs time. It's just going to be better in the end.

If you were to ask me what my best case scenario would be, it'd pretty much go something like Eddie realizes he likes Buck (and consequently men, or vice-versa) while Buck is still dating Tommy, causing him to have to deal with his feelings while still trying to be supportive. Then Buck and Tommy break up for an unrelated reason (I'd like to mention that while I know a lot of people dislike Tommy, this is Buck's first queer relationship and I want it to be a good experience over all for him so an amicable break up sounds better to me but that's just my personal opinion on the matter) leaving Eddie kinda relieved but also trying to be good supportive friend. Then it's Buck's turn to realize he has feelings for Eddie. Cue some moments of pining and flirting, that can go on for more than one episode, ideally a few. While this happen, they can both talk about it with other people, like Buck with Maddie for exemple. Then something happen and they realize their feelings are mutual. Now, would they get together then or would they try to take things slow depends on how it plays out.

That's just how I like to imagine it happening. I'd love for it to last a while before they actually start dating, or at least before they make they relationship official enough to tell the others about it. But I might be biased because I've always been a sucker for a well made slow burn.

Anyways, those are just my thoughts on the matter, we'll see how it actually goes (if they become canon at all).

Still manifesting buddie becoming canon, if not dating then let at least one of them canonically have feelings so we can start going somewhere eventually
