I did a rotten thing.
Idk I haven't posted in a while but this is js something that's been bothering me for a while. I don't know but I just feel like you shouldn't call yourself a goth, punk etc just because you dress like it. Sure, fashion is an aspect of being in a subculture but I just feel like it reduces those subcultures with years of history to a mere trend.
Jello: We've done...what, four songs now, or..?
Klaus: Your mother. *smiles*

Interviewer: Do you have any plans at all for the future?
Jello: Um...I'll probably go to sleep tonight.

Because,, it was 2005. Prefacing who the Mountain Goats were dates that album in a really beautiful way because like. Look at them now. Both bands. It's silly but it's a very sweet like ,,look how far both bands have come,, kinda thing. Idk.

I know I'm missing so many, and i know some of these examples don't count as much because they're from live albums, but those shows were so important to the people there and I'm happy that the audio was preserved in a way where they're still being talked about so many years later.
one thing i never get tired of in songs is when they include some sounds from the recording booth like a laugh at the end, a ‘was that good?’ or like, the sounds of the guitar being put down, a chair creaking. it’s nice how music can be used as an escape but also something that ties you right back down to earth. it will affect you so deeply & then ur like wow… you just played that. it’s grounding & magical & just one of my fave things ever!
