the final trial forced agatha to accept that nicky's death was never rio's fault. sometimes, boys die. agatha never would have kissed rio, showing that she chooses death, without first realizing that.

now that agatha is a ghost, which we know rio will despise, it sets them up for more deliciously antagonistic interactions BUT it also sets them up for healthier interactions than they've had in centuries. when we see them again, their interactions will likely take on a lighter, more playful tone than anything we've seen so far.

because agatha no longer blames rio, and rio was able to take agatha willingly instead of giving her 'special treatment' that would reveal its own cost sooner or later, they're now standing on more equal footing with one another and each is able to see the other more clearly. of course they still have centuries of emotional avoidance (mostly on agatha's part) to sift through, but their main problem was agatha blaming rio for something rio couldn't help, and rio trying to protect agatha from loss by bending the rules for her but really only delaying the inevitable.

agatha needed to accept that rio's role is indiscriminate, and rio needed to accept that agatha is mortal and therefore subject to the same natural laws as any other human. this new level of mutual acceptance brings down a HUGE emotional barrier to their eventual reconciliation, and is a damn good development for agatha's show to conclude with.

I play other games too but this is one that has stuck with me, can't wait for future chapters of deltarune to be released.

I wonder... ralsei seems awfully suspicious to me in this new chapter, but maybe it's just my impression of him as " he's keeping secrets.", he doesn't seem like a normal darkner yet I'm not sure what gives me this impression.

Also interestingly there's something new on deltarune's site, a mailing list that gives you updates on things that toby is working on, undertale, deltarune, some original projects, depends on what you choose, not sure for how long that has been there but that's nice, this feature was added recently.

It will give updates on things like sweepstakes, chapter releases, some original projects like music that toby is working on, so if you want to be updated on any of these things it may be a good idea to subscribe to this mailing list.

PEDESTAL is a freeware investigation and puzzle game by Uri made in WOLF RPG Editor.

One month ago, Cosmos Girls’ Academy student Shiori Natsume was found dead on campus. Though rumor spreads that it was suicide, Aoi Ooe of the newspaper club wants to know if that’s really true. Accompanied by her friend Akari, she begins an investigation to uncover the truth - no matter what may come of it.

Be sure to note the warnings on the page, both regarding the dark topics involved in the central mystery and the theme of the story.

For context: I decided to pass on translating this game a year ago when it came out. Uri felt unconfident at the time whether it would land with English audiences, and given the volume of text, she insisted I didn’t have to translate it if I didn’t want to. But I never really “didn’t want” to translate it; ultimately, I think it just came at a bad time for me focusing on something of this size. I wanted to come back to it someday, so now I have.

It’s important to recognize that this game is something of a departure from Uri’s previous games. Things to do with Japanese high school culture are rather prominent, assuming some familiarity with it, though I’ve of course done my best so that people can pick up on things with minimal external context. In addition, it’s not a “horror game,” nor going for that kind of atmosphere. I’d also say there’s more dialogue and less gameplay, and a good deal of that gameplay involves questioning lots of people to find those who have important information. It’s bound to be divisive, but I believe it’s a story worth experiencing if you’re willing to see it through.

Tetrodotoxin

Tetrodotoxin, frequently abbreviated as TTX, is a potent neurotoxin. Its name derives from Tetraodontiformes, an order that includes pufferfish, porcupinefish, ocean sunfish, and triggerfish; several species that carry the toxin. Although tetrodotoxin was discovered in these fish and found in several other animals (e.g., blue-ringed octopus, rough-skinned newt, and Naticidae) it is actually produced by certain symbiotic bacteria, such as Pseudoalteromonas tetraodonis, certain species of Pseudomonas and Vibrio, as well as some others that reside within these animals.

Tetrodotoxin inhibits the firing of action potentials in nerves by binding to the voltage-gated sodium channels in nerve cell membranes and blocking the passage of sodium ions (responsible for the rising phase of an action potential) into the nerve cell.

TTX is extremely toxic. The Material Safety Data Sheet for TTX lists the oral median lethal dose (LD50) for mice as 334 μg per kg. For comparison, the oral LD50 of potassium cyanide for mice is 8.5 mg per kg, demonstrating that even orally, TTX is more poisonous than cyanide. TTX is even more dangerous if injected; the amount needed to reach a lethal dose by injection only 8 μg per kg in mice.

Hey Henry, what are your thoughts on north nodes? It seems like such an important part of ones chart, but I never see anyone post about it on tumblr 🤔 Did I get this right-ish?; south node = past life, comfort-zone (mine is in pisces and 1st, so ego, escapism and self sacrificing behaviour) and north node = current life, destiny (?), new and uncomfortable situations that one has to experience (virgo in 7th, being organized and focusing on relationships, having a stable relationship). I think that the nodes are blown a little out of proportion in modern astrology. If we take things back to basics, however, I think that they can bear a lot of rich fruit. Consider the fact that the nodes are the places where the path of the Moon intersects the Solar ecliptic. At a very basic level we have the uniting of the Solar and Lunar selves here (similar to the Sun/Moon midpoint). Your active and passive natures are at one here. Your needs and wants align, and that’s why it can feel so powerful to prioritize the nodes when it comes to examining “life purpose”. 

That being said, however, I personally take the Vedic (Jyotish) route when it comes to the nodes. I think that the North Node implies material increase, but a special kind of obsessiveness and spiritual drain, whereas the South Node implies material decrease, a special kind of apathy, and spiritual gain. It’s unhealthy to spend too much time at either end of the axis (this is true for every axis in astrology so it’s a bizarre thing to me that modern astrologers always tout the North Node as some sort of ultimate chart feature), and the ultimate manifestation would be one that is balanced. On one end you see the archetypal billionaire, who constantly craves more and more and yet is never satisfied, whereas on the other end you have a starving monk, who by releasing everything and giving to others attains the ultimate fulfillment and yet may not be able to (actually) feed himself. Both energies are necessary for a practical life, but taken to extremes they can become dangerous.

From a technical standpoint I use the adage that the North Node amplifies what it touches (and thus is a good match for the benefics) and the South Node dissipates what it touches (and thus is a good match for the malefics).

Functionally I think that we can see increase where the North Node is transiting and meaning where the South Node is.
