"We absolutely could!" Lily beamed, already having a few ideas for simple things they could bake together. Cookies, or even cupcakes, since they could do a lot of decorating, and not have to worry about Kaia handling anything involving heat for long...

Setting aside that thought for now, she let out a small laugh at Kaia's dramatics. "You just seem like the type, I can't quite put my finger on it," she admitted honestly, settling her cheek in her hand for the time being.

At the question, she nodded. "I've been to the library a few times, usually when I'm studying and need a change of scenery but minimal distractions." Though, now that she thinks about it, she really should make more of an effort to try and visit the library...

Lily was more than a little startled to suddenly feel her sleeve grabbed while she was looking for a new jacket to replace her favorite one that has... been through it. It's getting a few small holes in it but she's already mended it so many times it's time to retire it.

She blinked in surprise at Kaia for a moment before she started laughing, keeping it relatively quiet for the moment so they don't draw too much attention.

"Yes, I'm Lily. You're Kaia, right?" She asked, hoping she doesn't make a fool of herself.

At Kaia's concerns about how this is the first time they're speaking, she shook her head with a smile and waved a hand dismissively. "It's alright, don't worry!" She reassured easily "Do you need help finding the person you're here with?" She offered, tilting her head slightly.

Lily's expression softened at his admission that the cookies were meant to be a surprise. Bless his heart she really can't stay upset with him for any length of time. He's too sweet for that.

Once she was done with cleaning his microwave from the explosion as best as she could, she turned her attention back to him. The music he'd chosen had her absently swaying along, moving over to him to take a look at the state of the recipe paper.

"I'd say that's still pretty legible, yeah." She agreed, smiling up at him. "Then shall we? Do you have enough ingredients for a second attempt?"

[Phone call, Xavier's voice sounds urgent] "I'm in great danger I need you to come downstairs right now. Please! You're the only one that can help. In fact, the entire complex may be in danger if you don't help me stop this right now."

As soon as she registered the urgency and he mentioned 'upstairs', Lily was rushing out of her apartment, only sparing enough time to grab her guns as a precaution.

"I'm on my way!" She reassured as she hurried upthe flight of stairs between them. Her thoughts were already racing a mile a minute, wondering what could possibly be causing Xavier of all people to struggle and call for help, especially without causing much of a ruckus.

By the time she reached his door her heart was pounding and she was braced for a fight.

Lily brought the bowls over at the request, offering him a reassuring smile. "I know that you didn't mean to cause the panic. But the way it sounded, I thought you were being attacked or something." She explained, finding a cloth to start cleaning up the batter from... everywhere.

"Red velvet cookies, hm?" She hummed thoughtfully. "Well, we can give the recipe a try after we clean up, but let's read through all of the instructions before we try it." She suggested with a lighthearted laugh.

With the initial panic subsiding, she was back to finding his kitchen struggles endearing, her expression softening. "And if you're ever struggling with a recipe, you can call me for help."

Yes, he's done so by calling her today... but hopefully he'll call her before his apartment explodes next time-

Seeing him in such a state, frazzled and covered in who knows what, she spares just a moment to look him over for any visible injuries. Not seeing anything too obvious just yet she hurried in towards the kitchen at his urging, even though something in her brain flagged that particular room as being of note.

But once she reached the kitchen, she realized what it was that was noteworthy.

The kitchen. The one place Xavier should not be left alone in. The only thing she's found he's not very good at.

Cooking.

Letting out a slow breath to release some of the tension in her muscles, she put her guns somewhere safer since she didn't even have their holsters on her at the moment, and settled a hand on her chest to try and calm her racing heart.

"Xavier... I love you, and you're an amazing hunter with unparalleled skill, but I swear, you are going to give me a heart attack one of these days." She shook her head with a small, breathless laugh, both teasing him and not.

But with that she rolled up her sleeves to get to work cleaning so she can figure out what in the world he was trying to do.

Lily quirked a brow at Kaia's analysis, humming as she considered before doing a 'so-so' hand wave, only to laugh when Kaia admitted to just trying to find someone to balance out her own chaos.

"I wouldn't say I'm impeccable at cooking or anything, and I prefer baking, but I'm at least generally good at making things that are edible." She teased lightheartedly. "I'm actually more into reading and needle craft for completely non-work hobbies." She admitted.

"As for you..." She started, trailing off thoughtfully as she tapped her chin. "I feel like you're the artsy type. Fashion, perhaps?" She mused, but seemed a little uncertain.

Lily found herself snickering at Kaia's attempts to defend herself, holding her own hands up slightly in surrender. She's hardly in a position to argue since she doesn't have evidence one way or another, after all.

After placing her order, she turned her attention back to Kaia and laughed softly at the questions, waving a hand at her playfully. "Well, what do you want to know?" She tried, quirking a brow playfully. "Perhaps we could start with hobbies, for getting to know each other?"

That feels like a safe enough starting point, and can actually say a lot about a person. How active they are, how much they practice coordination skills outside of training, a glimpse into other possible interests, things like that. It's also a good basis for an outside-of-work friendship, and good inspiration for future gifts!

The best part of Kaia’s reaction is the fact that Lily hadn’t even meant it in a romantic way. So seeing her get so flustered prompted Lily to snicker, smiling at her innocently as she fumbled her way through trying to move past that topic. "No cooking for you, got it." She teased lightly.

Deciding to have mercy on her, Lily left that conversation be to focus on the question being directed towards herself.  "As for the food, I don't tend to be too picky. I'll likely go with one of the soups, since something warm and filling sounds absolutely perfect right now."

She turned her attention back to the menu, humming thoughtfully as she debated which one she wanted to go with.

Humming thoughtfully as she followed after Kaia, Lily ended up laughing with her quietly. “If they have a personal chef then yeah, food may not be the best of gifts unless it’s something you made yourself.” She mused, her tone playful as she followed the server to a table.

She nodded to Kaia explaining her train of thought, her expression soft. “I understand, don’t worry. You know they like receiving gifts, and you like to prove that they’re on your mind. It’s sweet.” She reassured as she sat down finally, setting her shopping bag beside her carefully and well out of anyone’s way.

Despite trying not to be too obvious with it, his insistence that he won't go falling asleep during the race still made her giggle to herself, ducking her head slightly in an attempt to hide it.

Though, when she noticed him select the wrong floor, her amusement faltered, replaced with concern. Was he that tired? Maybe they should go with a movie or something instead so he could rest... She found herself reaching out to select her floor at the same time as him, accidentally bumping his hand in the process with a small "Oop, sorry!" before letting him press the button.

His request earned a nod, since that's a good point, even if she ended up a bit flushed again when he pointed out how warm her cheeks had been earlier. "That's a good idea. I have plenty of water and juice and stuff, so we have options."

After spending the morning doing research on places in Linkon City that offer milk tea, Lily finally found a place that seemed like it would be a nice place to visit and had the coffee milk tea that Xavier mentioned. Plus it wasn't far from a few good places to eat so they'd have options based on what they were feeling up to without having to go all the way across town. Perfect.

Lily finally sent Xavier a text in the late morning.

'I found a place that has that coffee milk tea you mentioned! And it has really good reviews.'

After a moment of thought, she sent another text as well.

'And thank you for walking me home last night. I really appreciated it. It was nice, looking at the stars with you.'

If not for the sporadic texts, Xavier would still be asleep. Outside the birds that often bickered over his balcony were squawking at a volume loudly. The combination of factors is enough to stir him, just barely. He knows its her before having to unlock his phone.

“I look forward to it.” She hummed happily, holding the door open for him as they finally entered the complex, relieved by how cool it was inside compared to being outside.

She snorted at his reassurances regarding her likelihood of winning, leading the way to the elevator. “That’s fair, I suppose. What, do you think you’re at risk of falling asleep mid-race since you’re full and comfy?” She teased lightheartedly, some part of her hoping that he’s not that exhausted... But if he does manage to, she fully intends to let him get as much rest as possible.

“That sounds perfect!” Lily beamed, playfully motioning for Kaia to lead the way to the restaurant. “I haven’t tried it yet either, no, but I’m up for a little adventure.” She added with a small laugh.

At her sheepishness regarding not knowing the requester very well, Lily gave her a few reassuring pats on the arm. “Nothing wrong with that. Hm... What do you know about them? Are they a foodie at all? Did they know what you planned to be out doing?”

Even little things can help figure out what the other person may be expecting, after all!

Flushing at the teasing, she snickered and elbowed him lightly in retaliation. “We’ll see how it goes, I’m still half expecting for you to wipe the floor with me.” She mused playfully, even if she genuinely means it too. He’s full of surprises, so she wouldn’t be too caught off guard if he does manage to beat her at such a simple game.

Her expression did soften though at his admission, looking up at him with an affectionate smile. “I’m happy that we did, too. And we don’t have to go making challenges or anything to hang out.” She added playfully. “We can always just hang out because we want to. You have my number and you know where I live, after all.”

"I have to try and be good about it," Lily admitted with a small sigh, absolutely pouting a little bit to herself, "I don't need to go making it harder on myself to function by not maintaining a sleep schedule... plus my body tends to refuse staying up late anyways if it can help it." She hummed, laughing a little. "I remember trying to pull all nighters when I was studying for the entrance exam for the Association... but I just never could, no matter how hard I tried."

She couldn't help but doubt his comment regarding how cozy places are, since she's caught him sleeping standing up a few times. But... he must be trying to dismiss it for a reason, so she wouldn't press too much more.

"Probably a familiar one? Maybeeee one of the racing games?" She suggested, tilting her head as she looked at him. She could definitely feel the heat too, but had the advantage of her ponytail keeping her hair off her neck so it wasn't quite as stifling for her... yet.

Lily went through the transaction easily, laughing quietly at the peace sign as she followed her out of the store, but staying close to the wall while they figure out where they wat to go. "I think there's a few new places, from within the past few months?" She hummed thoughtfully as she looked around.

She shifted her bag to settle it on her wrist, crossing her arms as she considered. "Hmm... I had a pretty light breakfast so maybe something a bit heartier..." She mused, cupping her chin as she considered their options and what was nearby.

The question regarding souvenirs earned a small laugh. "I suppose that that depends on the person. Some people are satisfied with food as a souvenir, but some prefer to have something more long-lasting, like a trinket of some sort."

Lily hummed and pulled her phone out so she could make a note in her calendar so she won't risk forgetting, nodding along in her agreement with Kaia's plans. Honestly by the end of the little rambles, she was laughing quietly and accepting Kaia's phone to put her contact in.

"It's hardly stolen if it's freely given, but yes, you can have my number. It'd be rather hard to coordinate if I didn't, wouldn't it?" She asked playfully as she offered the phone back to Kaia, then offering her own in turn.

"And I can definitely share my schedule with you. It really would make it easier for planning to train together, and we can fine tune the plan some over lunch." She reassured, finding Kaia's bubbly excitement so endearing honestly. Cute.

Lily laughed sheepishly at his response. "A nap sounds heavenly, but I'm worried it would mess up my sleep schedule too bad." She explained, glancing towards him before focusing on where she's walking again. "Honestly I sometimes envy how easily you seem to fall asleep pretty much anywhere."

She hummed thoughtfully at his suggestions of what they could do, her eyebrows furrowing slightly. So many options... "A video game would work, I think? I figure we've had enough outside time, so we get to be comfy at home." She suggested playfully.

Lily at least tried to help with carrying the boxes so that they could head home, not the slightest bit phrased by his phrasing. “We should probably at least stop home to drop off the food, yeah,” she agreed, starting to lead the way once they had everything gathered.

His comment about taking a nap earned a small laugh, humming thoughtfully. “Honestly a nap does sound pretty nice...” She admitted, even if she knows she probably shouldn’t let herself take a nap. She’d ruin her sleep schedule if she did, and that’s the last thing she needs right now.

“To be fair, you work really hard, so I’m not surprised that you end up so tired.” Even if she wishes that she could do more so that he wasn’t exhausting himself so much... but she has such a long ways to go to even begin to compare.

By the time he gets downstairs, he's already rubbing his eyes again as he knocks on the door.

It took a moment for Lily to even register he'd spoken again, too caught up in being so close to him. Running her fingers through his hair carefully, even after she'd already straightened it out some.

She didn't dare look into his eyes long, as much as she loved them. Being this close means that he'd be able to see how flustered she gets, and she doesn't want to go making him uncomfortable by just staring.

Though even through her own fluster she managed to see his flush, earning an affectionate little giggle as she backed off some to give him breathing room. "That sounds like a good plan," she reassured, having finally processed his suggestion.

His attempts at distracting her managed to get more openly amused responses, Lily covering her mouth for a moment to hide her giggles. "And yeah, we can head somewhere else. Anywhere that you want to go?" She asked, packing up anything left of their pizza.

Still flustered by her admission, Lily didn't even notice the rollercoaster of emotions that she'd sent Xavier through. Though when he finally spoke again, she found her shoulders relaxing in relief. On some level she knows that Xavier is far from judgemental, especially when it comes to her, but that reassurance still helped shake away the last of the anxiety.

"Honestly I'm a little impressed by how much you remember about me," she admitted with a small laugh, "In no time you're going to know me better than I know myself."

Her cheeks warmed at how genuine he sounded, insisting that she was worth hearing over and over. It was making her feel some kind of way, like it was something she never knew she needed to hear.

When he took her trash for her she sat up a bit straighter, making sure to thank him. When he returned with his wind-tossled hair, she couldn't help a small laugh as she stood slightly to lean across the table and gently help him finger brush it back into place.

"Your hair is so soft..." She mumbled, more for herself than anything.

Kaia's suggestion honestly sounded perfect to her, so Lily nodded in agreement. "We can definitely do that. Well just need to book the training time, but I can take care of that later if you want me to." She offered, taking the blue jacket off for now to put her white one back on.

All of the compliments still made her cheeks flush, only to turn a deeper red at her teasing. Lily shot her a playful look, reaching over as though she was going to smack her arm, but not making contact just yet. They're not that familiar with each other yet. "Oh hush, you." She pouted.

The request for lunch made her hum in thought, tilting her head slightly as she considered before shrugging and offering the other hunter a smile. "That sounds good to me. I don't have anything important going n today, so I suppose you can steal me for a while longer." She teased

Lily stuck her tongue out at him playfully in response, even with her cheeks still pink. "You know what I mean." She insisted, even as she's already fighting down her giggles.

Though his more serious admission made her hum in response, finishing off her drink finally and seeming a little surprised to have already reached the end. However she just set it aside for the moment to throw away once they're done.

"I know... I think sometimes it's hard to think of a good question to ask, or I have something to ask but it's a bad time." She looked a little sheepish as she attempted to explain her train of thought, absently fiddling with a napkin as she wiped some sauce of of her hands. "Plus it's a little embarrassing when it feels like something I should know by now."

Lily couldn’t help but giggle around her next bite of pizza at his question, offering a nod of agreement. Once her mouth isn’t full anymore, she answers him more properly. “Of course! You’re always welcome to reach out if you want to hang out,” she reassured with ease. If anything, it’s comforting to know that he wants to spend more time with her, and it’s not just her pestering him for attention.

She nodded along to his own analysis, only to flush when he reaches over to wipe her mouth for her. She mumbled a quiet gratitude, honestly a little embarrassed even if it’s unavoidable to be kind of messy when eating something like pizza.

His gratitude managed to distract her enough to speak properly again. “Well thank you for the idea," she returned playfully.

"I'm honestly trying to be flexible with weaponry, but I'm most comfortable with a gun. I prefer keeping a distance where I can." Lily answered honestly "Though I've been practicing with the sword lately. It is a lot more active, and exhausting." She laughed sheepishly, shaking her head. "Talk about a workout..."

She looked at the jacket curiously and felt it curiously, humming happily "Ooo it feels nice!" She beamed, checking the size before taking off her white jacket to try on the blue one. "I think this is actually a really good fit. Good choice!" She praised, turning her attention back to Kaia.

Lily hummed happily as she ate her pizza, a much slower eater than him but certainly not hiding her appetite either. At his admission, she flushed light pink and hummed appreciatively. "I see. Well, you don't have to go such round about ways to ask me to hang out." She teased affectionately.

At the question about the pizza, she hummed thoughtfully. "It's a really good one, for sure! Not overly greasy, and a good flavor." She mused, putting genuine thought into her little 'review'. "I'd definitely add them as an option for dinner when I'm too lazy to cook." She concluded, turning her attention to him. "What do you think?"

Lily waited patiently for Xavier to finish his food enough to get his thoughts out, laughing a little as she leaned against the table instead of sitting properly just yet. "I thought that today it was my turn to spoil you?" She asked playfully, but did sit down when he insisted he was okay.

At the offer, she shook her head and grabbed a slice of pizza to start eating. "I've still got some, so I'll be fine for now." She reassured before finally taking a bite

"Definitely." Lily hummed in agreement, beaming up at him. "Even better when making those memories with people important to you."

She followed him closely to the table, ensuring all of their stuff makes it on the table safely. "I had a feeling that that would be the case, which is the main reason I suggested it." She admitted with a happy hum, pausing before sitting down. "I didn't notice you'd already finished your drink. If you want I can run and get you something to drink with your pizza?" She offered, looking to him and tilting her head. To be fair, her drink is mostly gone now too, but she at least still has some.

"Then maybe that's what I'll do with my weekend." She hummed happily, leading the way down the road to the mini-park she'd mentioned.

His comment made her cheeks flush, but she didn't falter as she smiled towards him. It touched her to know that he cares so much, even if she isn't sure how to verbalize the same sentiment. How much she trusts him, and would follow him in turn.

"You're so sweet to me." She hummed apprecitively, walking beside him again as she faced forward. "It's more fun spending time with you anyways."

Lily hummed at the suggestion and nodded. "I could make us little scrapbooks." She offered, looking up to him to see what he thought. "There's still plenty of photos on our phones to start with, after all."

The idea starts to snowball in her head, already figuring out what all she'd need to make it happen, and she is looking forward to getting to work on it. Looks like she's figured out how to spend her weekend, if she gets it off!

Though all productive (and self-deprecating) thoughts were derailed by his comment as she outright gawked at him. "You brat!" She laughed, moving to smack his arm before grabbed the food. No risking the food!

"Yes, let's go." She snorted, taking the lead out of the store to hold the door open for him as she thought. "I know there's a kind of small playground just a few minutes away that has some tables we can sit at?"

Lily flushed light pink, offering a small shrug. “I’m not really much of a photographer, honestly. It’s a hobby I picked up a few years ago but I haven’t done much with it lately.” She explained. “It’s a fun pass time, and a fun way to have physical memories of things.”

When he doubted that she would spend her weekend training, she snickered and offered a non-committal shrug. “I dunno, I have an awesome partner to try and keep up with.” She said playfully, even though she genuinely meant it. As much as she appreciates having a partner that can make up for her slack and clearly knows what he’s doing, it also encourages her to try that much harder to pull her own weight when they work together.

She glanced up when he did, trying to keep an ear out for when their food would be ready.
