"I'm not sure? Probably depends on if anything else comes up... Maybe tackle some stuff around the apartment, or some training?" She doesn't want to go assuming he'd want to spend all of his time with her, after all. Surely he'd want to get some rest, or time to himself?

"Maybe?" She hummed thoughtfully, absently chewing on the straw. "It would be nice, just get to relax for a bit."

Lily had a feeling that she had indeed figured out his plan, giggling quietly to herself. She took a moment to lean into him, the best sign of affection she could offer at the moment without risking their drinks.

As much as she knows she doesn't understand Xavier, she can't deny the comfort and safety he brings. She tries to her best to pull her own weight, to be alert, but it still pales in comparison to his own skills. So while it's just the two of them on a day off... She's willing to let herself indulge in letting her guard down for the time being.

While he wouldn't find his desperation mirrored in her, there was still curiosity and affection. A fondness that she still reserved for him and him alone. She can tell he's looking for... something, but she doesn't know what. Whatever it is, he apparently didn't find it, and some sort of heavy guilt settles itself in her.

She does her best not to linger on it, focusing on what he said. "I certainly wouldn't complain about going out like this. I think we look rather adorable, matching like this." She answered easily, her tone genuine but playful at the same time. "We could probably use the relaxed outside time, too." She mused.

Lily holds her arms out slightly towards Dawnbreaker, hoping to make it so he won't feel bad if he refuses her invitation.

"Would you like a hug?"

His eyes light up briefly at the prospect of physical comfort.

"...Yes, I would."

He steps towards her, enveloping her in a gentle embrace to avoid causing her any discomfort, despite his wishes. He leans his forehead on her shoulder, closing his eyes.

Lily didn't mind him holding her wrist to keep it stable, waiting patiently as he takes a sip. Something about the way he phrased his thoughts made her cheeks warm up, but she refused to linger on it for now. "Maybe?" She hummed thoughtfully.

When he held his own drink out for her she took a small sip, her head tilted slightly as she considered the flavor. It was a bit strange, having just been drinking her fruit tea. But it wasn't bad.

So she gave an appreciative hum and nod. "That's actually pretty good, even with the residual fruitiness from my drink!" She beamed. "Thank you, for letting me try it."

Lily beamed as she watched him place the book on the shelf, proud of her choice when seeing how perfectly fit in. While she was relatively confident that he'd like it, she still had that little inkling of doubt that could finally be silenced.

She stood when he did, humming happily as she followed him to the door. "You don't have to worry about giving me anything in return." She reassured, even waving a hand dismissively. "You look out for me, so that's the least I can do in return." She insisted, nodding to his instruction. She'll do her best, if nothing else!

Routine appointments with Zayne were common, to make sure that Lily's heart wasn't suddenly deciding to rebel against her. However, she was more eager than usual for this appointment to end. Once they had finished the usual routine and she would normally be getting ready to leave, she instead reached into the bag she'd brought with her for running her errands for the day.

"Oh! Before I go, I have something for you." She chirps, pulling out what seemed to be a book, and setting it on his desk. She was ever careful not to cover any paperwork or anything, and made sure that it wasn't in his way either. The book was in various shades of blue with some gold accenting to it, and no words on either cover or the spine. If he opens it, he'd find that it's a fake book, and inside are a few baggies with sweets in them, including some homemade cookies.

Zayne almost stands up to walk her to the door, but her announcement makes him stay seated. He looks at the book, curious, then looks back up at her.

"What's the occasion?" He raises an eyebrow.

Looking at it, he notices all the details, surprised and grateful for such a gift. Seeing no markings on it, he brings it closer to him to open it. It's then that he sees it's a box.

The sight of sweets makes him smile.

"You didn't have to... Thank you." He picks one of the bags, studying its contents. "These look delicious. Did you make them yourself?"

He feels his mouth already watering, wishing his break was sooner so he could eat them without having to wait.

She hummed happily with an idea, getting her own phone out and opening the camera app. She shifted ever so slightly to stand a little bit more in front of him, but still leaning against him for support.

"Nothing wrong with having more photos!" She agreed with a grin, stretching out her arm to try and get a good angle for a few selfies.

And because she's still feeling rather playful, she tilted her head back some to gently boop him on the nose in one of the photos.

Honestly, it made her heart skip a beat in a good way, to know that he paid such close attention to such little things. She really shouldn’t be surprised that he was so observant, but it was touching all the same.  

The affectionate train of thought was derailed by the teasing, her cheeks turning even deeper pink in embarrassment as she shifted to lightly elbow him in the side. “Oh, hush.” She ‘scolded’, even as she turned her attention up towards the menu.  

Fortunately, she did manage to decide before they made it up front, figuring she’d go with a fruity tea, something on the sweeter side. Once she had finally decided on a drink, she honestly seemed rather proud of herself.

After spending the morning doing research on places in Linkon City that offer milk tea, Lily finally found a place that seemed like it would be a nice place to visit and had the coffee milk tea that Xavier mentioned. Plus it wasn't far from a few good places to eat so they'd have options based on what they were feeling up to without having to go all the way across town. Perfect.

Lily finally sent Xavier a text in the late morning.

'I found a place that has that coffee milk tea you mentioned! And it has really good reviews.'

After a moment of thought, she sent another text as well.

'And thank you for walking me home last night. I really appreciated it. It was nice, looking at the stars with you.'

If not for the sporadic texts, Xavier would still be asleep. Outside the birds that often bickered over his balcony were squawking at a volume loudly. The combination of factors is enough to stir him, just barely. He knows its her before having to unlock his phone.

In a flash he rinses off, takes care of basic hygiene, and is donning a favored hoodie in spite of the weather.

By the time he gets downstairs, he's already rubbing his eyes again as he knocks on the door.

“Yes, cute.” Lily insisted, regardless of how flustered she still felt. She wasn’t going to try and deny it, after all!  

Xavier getting out his phone to take a picture surprised her, but only for a moment. She simply let out a happy laugh and easily settled herself into his side, playfully holding up one hand to give the peace sign.  

“I’d have to agree, we do both look pretty cute.” She hummed happily, trying not to be too obvious with how much she was enjoying being so close to him.

"I tend to be good at making sense." She teased playfully, looking up at him with a smirk.

His question makes her hum, expression softening. "I don't know... But I hope so."

As much as it hurt to not be certain, no matter how much she wanted to insist that they'd see each other again, she couldn't bear the thought of insisting so confidently and then not being able to follow through, whether it was by her choice or not. But she meant what she did get to say, genuinely hoping that they could see each other again. It looks like she has a lot of hugs to make up for!

"Try to take care of yourself until then, okay?" She requested, her tone gentle as she reached up to cup his cheek.

Lily holds her arms out slightly towards Dawnbreaker, hoping to make it so he won't feel bad if he refuses her invitation.

"Would you like a hug?"

His eyes light up briefly at the prospect of physical comfort.

"...Yes, I would."

He steps towards her, enveloping her in a gentle embrace to avoid causing her any discomfort, despite his wishes. He leans his forehead on her shoulder, closing his eyes.

Lily hummed happily as she looked around, finding herself reassured that it seemed to be a relatively small store. The fact it's kind of small, with a decent line already despite being relatively new, meant that it must be good!

She looked up to Xavier curiously at his question, then flushing a little. "I don't think I did anything too different?" She admitted, then grinning up at him. "Maybe it's just he excitement of getting to spend the day with you~!" She teased happily.

She mumbled, despite knowing she very much can be, to the point she was deciding last night while she was doing her research. And had yet to fully come to a conclusion...

Lily flushed at the compliments, looking away sheepishly for a moment. "Thank you. Though, I can't compete with how cute you are." She responded easily.

At the prompting she looked through the jackets they were in front of, humming thoughtfully. "That's what my friends usually say, I'm easy to shop for." She laughed, pulling a black hoodie off of the rack and feeling it thoughtfully.

"I can't imagine that they did," she snorted, shaking her head. "From what I've gathered, Hunters are generally the type for 'work hard, play harder'." She hummed as she put the jacket back on the rack to keep looking. "We really should go on a mission together! It doesn't have to be a hard or big one either, something small would be better for getting to know each other's styles. Or we could try some training together first?" She offered.

"Oh, wait! Before you leave, what color do you think the jacket should b—" Not looking away from the clothing rack in front of her, she grabs the sleeve of the person nearest to her without thinking, and realizes a little too late that it felt... Different. She turns, blinking; the person she'd been talking to had left, and beside her instead was...

"Wait, you're—! Lily?! You're Lily, right?! Oh, my god, I am so sorry, I totally thought you were someone else! Gosh, and this is the first time I'm actually talking to you, too..."

She blinked in surprise at Kaia for a moment before she started laughing, keeping it relatively quiet for the moment so they don't draw too much attention.

"Yes, I'm Lily. You're Kaia, right?" She asked, hoping she doesn't make a fool of herself.

At Kaia's concerns about how this is the first time they're speaking, she shook her head with a smile and waved a hand dismissively. "It's alright, don't worry!" She reassured easily "Do you need help finding the person you're here with?" She offered, tilting her head slightly.

Lily hummed happily as she nodded, even turning to walk backwards for a little bit so she could face him properly. "Mmhm! And it has good reviews, which is all the more promising."

She faced forward again to ensure that she wouldn't risk running into anyone or tripping over her own feet and making a fool of herself, in public no less. Fortunately she had meant it when she said it wasn't far, just a couple of blocks and a few turns away she checked her phone again, then pointing to a small storefront. "There it is!"

While his concern was appreciated, and extremely sweet, Lily shook her head reassuringly. "You didn't hurt or upset me, don't worry." She reassured "I'm not that tender headed."

She took a moment to debate if she should just go ahead and explain why she's flushed, knowing he's already going to ask if she's okay. Maybe she can throw him off enough to take the focus off of her for a moment?

"You just look really cute when you focus on something so mundane."
