(Snyder Spider is the paint water you accidentally drink way too often, which gives you a stomach infection and a hospital visit)

Snitch and Neville Longbottom look like long lost brothers and I am going to stand by it
You can’t tell me that modern day au’s of both fandoms compare the two to the movie counterparts. Specs saying Snitch looks like Neville and like George or Fred saying Neville looks like Snitch. Obviously in modern day au’s the two fandoms would be movies in the other universe.
I deleted my Essay last Wednesday by accident 😭 (I still mourn it) but if you‘re interested, I could write annother one! (the previous one was partically in german anyway)

I definitely agree that movie, Broadway and novel have a lot of historical inaccuracy, but they represent the Main Events of the Strike and it’s process pretty good (except the importance of Hearst in the Strike???)
The movie had a lot of characters that actually existed back then and I’m pretty sad that Most of them didn‘t make it to Broadway. ):
Obviously the modern Adaptations have flaws, for example the Price „suddenly“ rising, Spot being the King of Brooklyn instead of Race, the Strike starting in Manhattan or Katherine being alive during this strike, but the Happenings which were important in the Strike, like the Rally at Irving Hall or their leader being a scab (Kid Blink and David Simmons alledgy turned scab) were shown in them!
Jack Kelly didn‘t exist, but I’m pretty sure he‘s based on a bunch of people that actually existed. His role in the Strike and personality were both based on Kid Blink and Annie Kelly (hence the last name Kelly). His Story resembles a lot of things that happend in Kid Blink‘s Life aswell, for example turning scab (it’s not clear if Blink actually did it but Most newsies believed it) or going to prison (in Jack‘s case Refuge) other than Jack, Blink had a mom that bailed him out tho. The last Name Sullivan COULD be a reference to Timothy D. Sullivan (the Businessman that rented the Irving hall for the newsies) and the name „Jack“ COULD be inspired by the newsie „Jack the rare“ but the last two are just assumptions

Headcanon #3
The mornings at the lodging house are normally a lot to take in. They are loud and hectic, but it’s when Jack puts on his cowboy hat when things really heat up. Albert and Race look at the hat and the back at each other; Jack groans.
“Whats that? A hat. A crazy, funky, junky hat. Overslept. Hair unsightly. Tryin’ to like Kiera Knightly. We’ve been there. We’ve done that. We see right through your funky hat,” Albert and Racetrack chorus in unison. They do this every morning. dance moves and all.

Headcanon #2
Jack has a little mini-cactus plant named Hank that he keeps in the lodging house because it’s “like in Santa Fe.” He makes the other newsies water Hank on certain days of the week. He once tried to sleep with Hank like a teddy bear, but regretted it in the morning with several needles sticking out of his face.

The boys get Jack cowboy apparel for every holiday and birthday. Race and Davey think it’s hilarious. What makes it better is on birthdays its only red bandannas. Every. Single. Newsie. gets Jack a red bandanna for his birthday. Every year. Without fail.

Because hes a ray of sunshine (yes ik hes a bamf and dont take nobody's shit )
Probably got started when jack went to one of those meetings with spot and brought crutchie with him for the first time, and crutchie smiles and is very polite so spots like mentally *protect this adorable sunshine kid* (platonically like jack)
And don't come for me saying 🤓☝️ "actually the reason brooklyn waited was to see if Manhattan would back down" ok I get that but this is a HEADCANON let me dream

A doodle a day 2025- January!
I set my new years resolution to get back into art (l'm still facing burn out from the GCSEs I swear) and though this would be a fun way to document my year! each doodle has something to do with my day :)
If it’s cannon era then 92sies, if not, then livesies. Kind of. There is some that change but mostly that.
Who do y'all picture when reading newsies fanfiction. Cause I can't imagine reading a sprace fic and picturing like Ben Cook with Gabriel Damon or a javey fic with Christian Bale and Ryan Kopel. Does it change depending on the pairing? Or like platonic vs romantic, does that affect who you think of?
Please tell me I am genuinely really curious
So Newsies. I just got back into it and rewatched livsies and 92sies. I still prefer livsies because the music and dancing is way better tho that is the perk of a musical. I do like 92sies tho, I like how Brooklyn comes in earlier and I also like some smaller moments and things. I prefer Kathrine to Sarah, because Sarah was kinda just there and the closest Jack could get to Davey in a movie made in a heteronormative society. I also like crutchie and les better in the musical, as in the movie they were just kinda there or really dumb. Though I like the musical Santa Fe better I crack up during 92sies Santa Fe because Jack just straight up steals a horse. Like what. Who thought of that???? I like in the movie how we see the newsies passing out the Newsies Banner, but I prefer livsies Once and For All. I also like over all I prefer the musical, but I will admit that the movie has some things I do like better and isn’t bad. Anyway no hate to people who like 92sies better, it is good, but I personally don’t think it is as good as the musical. Though the Javey and Sprace content is good.
Sprace? In 2023? It’s more likely then you think!!
