While we get where you are coming from. It's a personal choice of whether a being wants to be referred to as a "person" or not.
Also about the aliens part, some wouldn't. Because to some "person/people" is human-centric.
We don't mind person/people to refer to most of us most of the time. But some of us do mind and some of us only mind sometimes. (This part might not make any sense, lol)
Once again, this is your own choice to be referred to as a person. But other beings might not like it. Honestly, just be respectful of others is our whole point here.

Like, to me, personhood is not exclusive to humanity.
If sentient aliens came to our planet tomorrow, would we not consider them people?
Personhood to me is simply an effect of sentience.
If you can comprehend your own existence, you are a person.
Sure, thatās mostly humans, but Iām a dog who can comprehend my own existence, and I belive that makes me a person.
I am a nonhuman person, but a person nonetheless because I think, therefore I am
