questioning npd culture is having to explain that being friends with someone because "its the right thing to do" IS your form of caring. if i didnt care i wouldve left you in a ditch months ago. if i didnt care i wouldnt even be telling you that i secretly groan whenever you show up and ruin whatever more important thing im doing. this is care, i promise you it is. please try to understand. please dont leave me

possible npd and bpd culture is getting tired of being nice for everyone else's sake and just wanting to be yourself fully.

i want to be mean to be mean, but i don't like the idea of upsetting my friends. (idrc in the moment but afterwards i feel bad.)

it might entail me a dick and harming people on purpose but i'm just so exhausted by everything.

npd + bpd culture is your fp complimenting someone else in front of you and you Freaking Out over it and possibly even crashing (i’m not sure yet. all i know is i feel horrible). like am i that replaceable. fp has barely talked with me recently.

Npd culture is having to constantly remind yourself that the random people around you are people and they have lives even when you're not nearby because you never really internalize that.

NPD culture is wanting to come out to your friends about your diagnosis so they'll comfort you and give you attention and reassure you that they still love you, while simultaneously being fucking TERRIFIED about the possibility of them judging you for being a narcissist after you spent so long constructing this innocent/perfect/"can do no wrong" persona, and you dont want them looking at you in a different light 😭

♱ Holy NPD。

A flag for beings whose NPD [ Narcissistic Personality Disorder ] is directly connected to the concept of holiness & divinity. This can mean that one's NPD makes them feel like or believe that they are a holy, divine being.

Narcaro - A Romantic Orientation On The Aro Spectrum Where NPD Affects How You Experience Romantic Attraction.

narcaro - a romantic orientation on the aro spectrum where NPD affects how you experience romantic attraction. for example, you may only be attracted to people who prioritize you over others or praise you consistently, or people you view as an equal. it could also mean pursuing romantic interests as a way of seeking validation through being desired, without necessarily actually being in love. anyone with npd or who suspects they may have npd or its symptoms can use this label regardless of how they feel they identify with it

colors are the browns from the npd flag and the greens from the aro flag

[ID: a horizontal flag with 6 stripes. from top to bottom: dark reddish brown, light brown, dark mossy green, a medium yellow-green, light yellowish gray and eggshell. end ID]

narc abuse believers and anti-npd truthers PLEASE leave this post alone

Want to be part of a group blog on how to write neurodivergent characters?

[Large text: "Want to be part of a group blog on how to write neurodivergent characters?"]

I've found Tumblr blogs on writing physically disabled and POC characters, but nothing specifically for neurodivergence.

Maybe there is something I just haven't found yet, but even if so, I think the most resources the better.

So, hi! I'm Amethyst — amateur writer and neurodivergent, and now looking for people to help me out with this project.

I could try this on my own, but I would rather have other neurodivergents with me (especially with different conditions from mine)

Does anyone want to help me make a change?

Quick reminder: regardless of what condition you have, you are allowed to have your own experiences.

You don't have to be like everyone stereotypes people with your condition to be and MUCH LESS be the exact opposite of said stereotypes.

Never feel like you're giving your community a "bad image" just by experiencing things.

It will never be your fault if some ableist asshole uses you to "prove" they were right about your condition.

Adding to this so we can make it relatable for more neurodivergents:

Lack of/little empathy doesn't imply lack of sympathy.

Delusions aren't just strong beliefs.

Psychosis is more dangerous for those who experience it than to the ones around them.

Compulsions aren't just habits.

Hallucinations aren't exclusively auditory or visual.

Maladaptive daydreaming is an important coping mechanism.

Slow learners aren't dumb.

Intrusive thoughts don't make anyone a bad person.

"Narcissitic abuse" and "borderline abuse" are unnecessary, stereotype-spreading terms.

Meltdowns aren't tantrums.

Burnout isn't procrastination.

Stims aren't pointless.

Shutdowns aren't just lack of attention.

Verbal shutdowns aren't a "silence treatment".

Hyperfixations aren't useless.

Special interests are more than obsessions.

Phobias aren't regular fears.

Panic attacks aren't controllable.

Self-harm isn't a trend.
