Sometimes I get stressed out that I'm not careful enough on the internet

Then I remember elderly people are downloading every wack ass popup they find and filling out their info to anyone who asks, and they are fine (for the most part)

The queer youth today are being FED

I have a younger sister who recently came out as a lesbian (to nobody's surprise) and even though the world is still sorely lacking of lesbian content, queer content has gotten a massive boost these past 5 years.

When I was young and looking for queer rep I'd find it in the weirdest places. We obviously have fandoms, and fanfic and queerbaiting, but also the amount of movies I watched just for a single queer scene? I remember watching an adam sandler film about him having a billion kids solely because one of those kinds was matthew daddario playing a queer guy. Also watching teenwolf for the one very stereotypical gay side character. There were several others aswell, but I can't remember them at the moment

I remember the feeling of reading percy jackson and finding out Nico was gay, of reading the mortal instruments and finding out Alec was gay, I was so starved for any sort of representation that I held on to my small crumbs for dear life.

(Shoutout to the 100 for being one of very few, if any, tv shows with very natural queer rep and not a single hint of homophobia in show.)

My sister now has heartstopper, young royals, warrior nun, good omens, interview with the vampire (tho she's still a bit young for that one) and she has video game characters!!! She has ellie and dina, she has pretty much everyone in the life is strange games, and she even has aloy. I remember playing life is strange with my ex (the main game) and even though it has very queer undertones etc, it isn't very explicita, tbf it's a while since I played it so I might be wrong about that

My point is, we still have a very long way to go when it comes to queer rep in media, but goddamn it IS getting better.

I really enjoy playing video games, and am usually quite okay at it, but I for some reason am completely incapable of doing them correctly. Let me explain.

I usually aim for 100% completion in all games I play, which in turn tends to make me accidentally do things in the wrong order. In addition to this I am slightly stupid and fuck up a lot, so here are some of my best moments:

1. Skyrim: was gifted the game by a friend who loves it and was immedeately hooked. After having played non stop (apart from school) for about two weeks, my friend asked me what my favorite shout was. My response? "What the fuck is a shout??" I'd played the game for two whole weeks and just casually not gotten to that quest yet. I had the quest in my log, but I was running around doing other things, also killed a few dragons and had to go back later to be able to absorb their souls

2. Stardew valley: Played the game till I got tired of it, 100+ hours. Put it away, and then realized that romance is a thing in the game. I did not have a single hint of romance in my play through lmao

3. Baldur's gate: I during the entire thing with the thieflings in the glade I somehow fucked up enough to kill every single person there, causing me not to have the thiefling party and not get the Halsin quest. I did not realize there was another solution to that problem until halfway through act two.

I also managed to enter the goblin camp the wrong way, so I entered through the exit. During this I somehow killed Halsin. Then as I exited the camp I got the pop up for the Halsin quest, and then immedeately after a pop up saying the quest was over

4. Assassin's creed: when I play open world games I usually try to do every side quest etc I can before continuing with the main quest. In the ac games you also have a neat question mark for everywhere you haven't been. So any time I entered a new a new area, I'd loot everything. This caused me to get an inventory FILLED with quest items I did not have the quests for yet. Also ended up with a lot of quest items I never got to use after finishing the game

5. Horizon forbidden west: I did not realize there were areas of the map you needed a flying creature to access, so before unlocking said creature I was going around trying to explore every single location. Somehow also managed to glitch my way into one of the places that could "only" be accessed by flying. (I jumped like a million times till I managed to angle it correctly so I was able to jump into a tree and then jump the fence that way)

Also feel the need to mention that I do not own a sense of direction, and this is often revealed in the way I play games. I have a bunch of examples, but let's do the one where I tried to play breath of the wild.

I entered into a room. Straight ahead was a very obvious opening for where to go next, but I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything in one of the corners. So I walked around the room, "oh look! A secret door!" I opened said door, expecting a smaller room with some loot in it. What actually happened? I walked back outside...

That's all I can remember for right now, but there is most likely a BUNCH more

Why didn't anyone warn me that dr. pepper isn't just another version of coke/pepsi???? I was over here thinking it was basically the same thing, had a sip, and it tasted like play do???? How are people drinking this????

Not falling into a seasonal depression is so much fucking WORK

Like, I have to have reminders on my phones for the few hours a day the sun is out, so I can make sure I actually go see it. Then I also have to be VERY strict about my sleep schedule, cause if I fuck that up I'll suddenly sleep through the sun hours. And I have to make sure I get enough sleep (for me 10-11 hours a night, I know, a lot, but I'm disabled) but I also need to make sure I don't sleep too much cause then I won't be able to see the sun or sleep the following night.

I also have to be super rigid about taking my meds and vitamin d, cause you know damn well we don't get anywhere near enough vitamin d from the sun in norway.

And on top of all that I have to go to work, make dinner, clean the house, make sure my cat's needs are met AND try to have a social life.

Not to mention I can't use my moped during the winter seasons, so I have to take the bus everywhere (I'm gay, I can't drive, shut up) which takes fucking FOREVERRRR

And don'teven get me STARTED on the clothes situation. I'm always too hot, practical in winter, right? WRONG. I have a cold allergy, so if any part of my body (especially areas with a fat reserve) gets too cold, it starts itching and swells a LOT. On my face that's easily remedied, I just make sure to wear a face covering, one extra layer is enough. Upper body is also easy, I have a thick coat. But, my thighs???? My main problem area??? I cannot deal with wearing an extra layer under my pants, because 1. It gets way too hot the second I walk into my workplace. And 2. It feels fucking AWFUL

Anyways, I love my country and am never leaving

Was really nervous about doing badly at my heart thingy today, so when the nurse placed all the electrodes and hooked me up to the machine I pulled out every trick my 6(?) Years of synchronized swimming taught me of controlling my heart rate and made it as low as I could

I am thankfully not very skilled at this so hopefully it didn't mess up my results

I was also completely topless in front of a stranger so my heartrate was likely a lil bit elevated from that

Went to the doctor for an ingrown toenail, walked out with a covid jab and an ecg.

(Also got a referral to someone who can deal with my poor toe that has been hurting for the past 1.5 years)

As a neurodivergent fucker myself, it's always so very rewarding any time I can introduce one of my equally neurodivergent peers to the joys that is microsoft excel/google sheets.

I have loved dogs from a very young age, and so has my mom. So when I grew up we had this gorgeous and HUGE book of a bunch of dog breeds. I loved looking at the pictures. In this book there was also a section about how wolves turned into dogs, how they are related to foxes, and about anatomy. So, on one of these pages, there was a picture of two dogs stuck together, so obviously I asked my mom what that was all about. And my mom, always willing to answer my questions, explained how dogs mate, how the male swells and how its so that no other dog can come and try to mate with the female immediately after

The seasonal depression is hitting "I need to jump into a lake" levels, might go try ice bathing for the first time since I was a kid

If a good nights sleep is the human equivalent of turning a pc off and on, ducking your head under icy cold water is the equivalent of a factory reset

(Haven't been ice bathing since I was a kid, but I usually go for a swim in one of the lakes around my parents' house the first proper warm day of late spring (like 15°C) so the water IS cold as fuck)

I don't think we as humans appreciate dry and not slippery ground enough. Just being able to put your foot down and TRUSTING it won't move unless you make it.

Anyways, the weather in Norway is being insane, it's wet and icy as fuck, and I slipped on the ice and fell into a puddle on my way to work today...

Throwback to the 8th grade when I suddenly got blind spots in my vision, and the entire left side of my body got all tingly and fell asleep. I told my teacher and his response was deadass "okay, if it's still going on at the end of class (an hour away) you can call your mom" (my school was really strict abt phones inside the school building, so I couldn't just text her either)

My mom picked me up and we went straight to the doctor so I could get checked out. Thank GOD it was just a migraine attack, but what the fuck was that teacher on

The year is 2060, supernatural seems like a long forgotten fever dream. Suddenly a new video pops up on whatever video sharing media is big atm. The screen fades to black, and the next video a handheld and flimsy recording. It's an empty room, it looks oddly familiar. Then you see a much younger jensen and misha walk into the frame, and you recognize the bunker. Jensen Ackles has leaked the tapes.

i've said it before and i'll say it again but i truly believe there will be a destiel kiss on our screens one day and maybe that's clown behaviour but at least i'm having fun

Funfact about Norway's universal healthcare

Not all kinds of treatments are covered. I have a bunch of back problems from my tourettes, so I see a chiropractor once a month, he is amazing and fixes everything in like 10-15 mins. But, Norway doesn't believe in chiropractic treatments, so I have to pay privately (or my mom pays). What treatment could I get covered? A fucking massage... I have tried it, yk, state funded massage, and it does not help at all whatsoever, and takes waayy longer, and leaves me needing a shower after cause they use oils and shit

I do find it kinda funny that the state is willing to pay for a treatment that does not work at all, but are unwilling to sponsor a treatment which works absolutely amazing every single time, and likely costs less in the long run

Not to fucking MENTION how all these rules constantly change depending on the angle, oh the head is tilted down? NEW RULES. Oh the view is slightly above the head? ITS NOT THE SAME AS HEAD TILTED DOWN SO MANY NEW RULES

I feel like I need to share me and my family's pet and child history cause shit's getting crazy

2001 - my parents got a dog

2002 - I'm born

2005 - My sister's born

2009 - My other sister is born

2013 (ish) - The family dog dies of old age, the next day we adopt a cat

2014 (ish) - We get a new dog

2015 (ish) - I get my own cat

2016 - We adopt my friend (born in 2003) She becomes my sister

2021 - My cat dies from disease

2021 (later) - My family adopts a new cat, this time it belongs to my sister (05)

2022 - My mom gets a new puppy (the nephew of our current dog)

2023 - I move out and adopt another cat

2023 (now) - My family's oldest cat dissapears for a month, my mom rescues a kitten, this time belonging to my youngest sister (09), a week later the oldest cat returns

So in total me and my family has/had: 4 kids, 3 dogs and 4 cats. The current count for my parents is: 3 kids, 2 dogs and 3 cats. While the current count for me is: 1 roommate and 1 cat. At most we were 4 kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats under the same roof.

Cas and Aziraphale would have had some amazing convos if they ever met

I think it's really funny how school, like 5 or so years ago, drilled the dangers of deepfakes into our brains. Theyd show a vid of obama talking and saying absolute bull and then reveal it was fake. This past year this technology seems to have become more widespread, especially with voice filters, and I just love the fact that I've never once apart from that time in school seen a deepfake or anything actually pretending to be real

Deepfakes today are like "oh heres trump rapping about having shat his pants with flashing lights" or absolutely insanely good fan edits

School really made me think deepfakes would be a big problem in my life, but it ended up just being used for memes, and I am HERE for it
