Writer says: So I had this crazy idea one day and I just had to work on it. Here ya go!
Writer means: So I had this crazy idea either right before getting in the shower or right before falling asleep so I grabbed my fucking laptop and shat all over it to create the steaming pile of crap that I now lay before you. I don’t even know if it’s good anymore. I haven’t slept in two days.
Writer says: Wow, real life’s getting busy! Sorry on the slow updates.
Writer means: My life is a literal storm of shit at the moment. Why did I decide to do this. Why am I still doing this. Everything around me is spinning out of control and I am staying up ‘til 5:30 in the morning every night to create a piece of work that will only get two comments and 12 demands for quicker updates. I hope no one’s mad at me, all I wanted to do was write.
Writer says: Wow! Would you look at that! I updated on time! Please enjoy!
Writer means: WOOOOOOHOOOOOO BITCHES LOOK AT THIS PRODUCTIVE ASSHOLE GO YEEEEEHAAAAWWWW TAKE THAT YOU NASTY REVIEWERS ALWAYS DEMANDING ME TO BE FASTER! I GOT THIS SHIT I GOT THIS SHIT
Writer says: This chapter was a toughie. Glad it’s finally done!
Writer means: I don’t know if this is good or not. I honestly don’t fucking know. I’ve read the same words over and over and over again and I just couldn’t look at it anymore. My beta said it was ok but I’m not confident but HOLY SHIT I JUST NEED TO STOP WRITING THIS FUCKIGN CHAPTER.
Writer says: Thanks for reading!
Writer means: Please, oh please oh please oh please leave me a review. A comment. Anything. Please tell me you’re out there. Please tell me someone is reading this.
Writer says: I just want to say that real life is getting pretty hectic right now. Please try to be patient with me, I know you guys want updates. Thanks! :)
Writer means: FUCK. YOU. Who the fuck do you think you are, demanding shit from me?! You don’t know my life! I have a very busy life! I create shit for free, you entitled son of a pig-fucker! STOP LEAVING ME COMMENTS TELLING ME TO UPDATE SOON OR I SWEAR TO GOD I’LL PUKE ALL OVER MY COMPUTER
Writer says: What’s gonna happen next? Who knows? Hee hee ;)
Writer means: I have no fucking clue what the next chapter is going to look like. What’s my plot? I don’t know. I feel no emotion.
Writer says: Please leave a comment! It helps me write!
Writer means: I am begging you to leave me a comment because I swear it’s the only thing that’s keeping me motivated right now, I hate the work I put out and I need reassurance that people are actually enjoying this.
Writer says: I hope you enjoyed that chapter, big things are coming up! ;)
Writer means: Buckle up bitches, someone’s gonna die.
Writer says: I know I’ve missed a few updates, but I swear I plan on finishing this story!
Writer means: *high pitched eternal screeching*
Writer says: Here we are at long last! This has been one wild ride. I want to thank you all so much for your support and love, I adore each and every one of you. I am so happy to say that this story has come to a wonderful close.
Writer means: My body is numb. Voices call out to me from the void, but I can no longer hear them over the beating of my racing heart. I am stressed to the point where I feel no relief. The story is done. It’s fucking DONE. I loved it, I hated it, it was a fucking storm of horror and pain. I can no longer see color. Now I can at last relax and…wait……wait a second………..holy shit I just thought of the best idea for a one-shot that’s totally gonna turn into a 50 chapter slow burn AU fic leT’S FUCKING DO THIS
Aka, a map of how this
(^^^^ open that first for success)
connects to this:
“Whoa there,” you say. “Whoa there, Pen. This looks a lot like that other thing.”
OMG! Yes it does! That’s because they are macaroni and cheese. They belong together.
Characters, after all, don’t just develop all by their lonesome. It is their journeys and experiences that prompt a person to change- or tests whether they are capable of change. I like to think that the bond between the hero’s journey and the character arc was not something that was created so much as “discovered” in a way. It’s always been there.
“Whoa there, Pen!” Some of you say again. “I have seen the Hero’s Journey before, but I’m pretty sure it said different things?”
Yes it probably did. The different points can have many names, but ultimately, they represent the same type of event. I chose this one because it is, to me, one of the less overly grand and therefore less overly confusing.
Onward under the cut.

Hi friends! As an aspiring author, it’s extremely beneficial to me when I stumble upon writing masterposts. However, a lot of said masterposts are very limited, very vague in the sense that they don’t elaborate on the tips they give, or are directed towards a certain group of writers. I decided to make a guide/masterpost of resources and tips for all writers, whether you’re struggling to write an essay for class or want to get started on the first few chapters of your novel. I also added some handwriting tips, because it’s always nice writing when you actually like your handwriting! I hope you all enjoy, and hopefully I helped! (If there are any issues with links or tags, please let me know!)

I’ve found that the best way to write a death scene is to make it saddest when it shouldn’t be. The funeral is rushed, the realization of death isn’t spent too much time on, and the characters mourning is more of a blank space filled with hums and a need for endless nothings.
But then Person A finally gets to be alone and gets to their room and looks at the bed and realizes that it’s suddenly a lot bigger. And they’re too short to reach the blinds to close them, and that was always Person B’s job. And they’ll never fold clothes for someone else again, never need to ask someone to turn off the light, never try to stop them from snoring. And then moving away from it all, trying to forget, holding back tears in the kitchen cradling a cup of tea they realize that Person B will never drink tea with them again. And they’ll never help them reach their mug. And when they drop it to the floor, shattering it into millions of helpless individuals there is no one there to tell them not to move, not to step on the glass, not to cut themselves. That the mug has no worth because it’s worth was in the adventures of cleaning up the pieces and remembering it as it was.
There is no one to stop them from hurting. And there is no one to drink tea.
Tragedy comes in the little things. I just wanted to remind you of that.
I am more of a beast than human, more drunk than sober, more of anarchy than order, more of a scoundrel than a saint more of a fallen than an angel, but she loved all of my darkness, so I gave her what’s left of my light.
Daniel Saint (via wordsnstuff)
Rhythm, pattern, and sound matter more in writing than you may think, but it’s often overshadowed by stress on other elements that make a story pleasant to the mind.
Repetition. This is pretty self-explanatory.
Use of words that don’t fit the situation (Especially in dialogue. If a character is laid back and simple in their speech, they aren’t going to use a word like “demonstrably”).
Redundant sentences ~ to quote this article :
“She nodded her head in agreement.
She nodded. (We know it’s her head and we know a head nod signifies agreement.)”
Bad punctuation. Keep in mind that a period is a stop in speech, while a comma is more of a pause. This can make a massive difference in the way the story flows. Commas are your friends.
Breaks in story. Carefully choose where paragraphs start and end, as well as chapters or scenes. You want the end of each paragraph to hint at a transition into the next.
Pay attention to sentence length. This may not be a shock, but sentence length is one of the most important things to pay attention to when creating flow. Barbara Tuchman, winner of two Pulitzer prizes, has a tip for her readers, in terms of sentence length: 3 long sentences, two short “staccato” sentences. Sentences that are all the same length are boring!
“ Action scenes contain few distractions, little description, and limited transitions. Omit or limit character thoughts, especially in the midst of danger or crisis, since during a crisis people focus solely on survival. To create poignancy, forgo long, descriptive passages and choose a few details that serve as emotionally charged props instead. “ On Action Scenes
“ When the outcome of a scene or chapter is left hanging, the pace naturally picks up because the reader will turn the page to find out what happens next… If your characters are in the midst of a conversation, end the scene with a revelation, threat, or challenge. “ On Cliffhangers
“ Reactions, descriptions, and attributions are minimal. Don’t create dialogue exchanges where your characters discuss or ponder.“ On Dialogue
“ Suspense and, by extension, forward movement are created when you prolong outcomes.” On Prolonged Outcomes
“ Summary is a way of trimming your word count and reserving scenes for the major events. You can also summarize whole eras, descriptions, and backstory. Summaries work well when time passes but there is little to report, when an action is repeated or when a significant amount of time has passed.” On Summary
“ Think concrete words (like prodigy and iceberg), active voice (with potent verbs like zigzag and plunder), and sensory information that’s artfully embedded. If you write long, involved paragraphs, try breaking them up.” On Word Choice and Sentence Structure

A group of friends share a hotel room, and the two skinny lovers are forced to share a bed
Two close friends become very affectionate toward each other (hugs, cuddles, nose kisses, hand holding, etc) and everyone knows they’re in love, but both refuse to admit it
“I broke my rules for you.”
Person A would rather fight a literal army of demons than admit their feelings for Person B
(student x teacher) A and B have been flirting secretly for months, but neither can admit their feelings for fear of rejection and the consequences of anyone finding out.
“You have something in your hair, let me get it for you.”
“You’re staring at him/her/them again.”
“Sorry for calling so late at night.. well.. early in the morning.. but..”
“Are you tired? Here, I’ll carry you.”
“Stop looking at me like that! You’re making me blush.”
Person A has made a game of saying things to make B blush, and it was all fun and games until B started to mean it.
“It’s late. You shouldn’t be walking home alone in the dark. You could.. stay here tonight..”
“What? No! I wasn’t staring at you.. you were just.. standing in front of.. a really nice..tree..”
“It’s been a long day. Want a massage?”
Accidental touches. Enough said.
Eye contact is a dangerous thing, but lovely. Oh, so lovely.
Congratulations! Your dream just came true! Let me give you a celebratory hug! Oh.. you’re really warm..
You’ve said you’re going to leave, but I don’t want you to go and if I don’t say something now..
We were pretending to be lovers but I’m not pretending anymore and I need to know if you feel the same.
This wasn’t supposed to be a date but we’ve had such a good time and it’s 2 AM and you walked me home and.. wow, your lips look soft.
If you use one or more of these for a story, I would be delighted to read it! Please don’t hesitate to send your writing to me:)

I’ve been having some issues lately with staying positive and pushing myself to build healthy habits. At times I get too wrapped up in work and friends and my education that I forget that I’m a human being and that I need to put myself higher on my list of priorities. I have a major problems with articles that claim they have “easy” tips for being happy and healthy overnight. It’s really not that simple, and I’m not going to lie, the ones below aren’t a cakewalk for everyone, but I thought they were useful in my own experience and wanted to share them with you.
Every time you reach for a soda or an extra coffee, switch it out for water. It provides a healthier and more long term boost of energy by clearing out those mentally depressing toxins from your body.
Meditate once a day. Even if it’s only 30 seconds in the morning after you’ve finished getting ready, take a step back and devote some time to becoming calm and clearing your head to increase focus and encourage a peaceful mindset.
Exercise. Don’t create a hardcore 2 hour daily workout routine right off the bat after months of little to no activity. Start small, maybe 10 abdominal exercises, 10 leg exercises, and 10 weighted tricep curls on each arm paired with a 15 minute walk around the block. There. That’s only roughly 30 minutes of your day and you’re not even sweaty enough to have to shower afterwards.
Use natural ingredients as skin care. Moisturize with coconut oil, make your own essential oils and charcoal face wash, soap, and bath bombs, and maybe devote 1-2 days of the week to wearing no make up (if you wear it every day) in order to let your skin breathe.
Keep your space organised. When you’ve just changed and that sweater you wore today is on the floor, take the two extra seconds to hang it up or fold it and put it away. When you’re done with your meal, rinse it and put it in the dish washer. It’s not that difficult to prevent your home from becoming a pig sty.
Make your bed every morning. It’s a good habit to have, it makes your room look nice and clean, even if there are some things on the floor, and it makes it look even more appealing when you look over at 11 PM and decide whether to watch another episode of your Netflix obsession or get some beauty rest.
Speaking of sleep, do it! Regularly! It is essential to your health and happiness to get a good amount of sleep every night. 7-10 hours is the recommended amount of nightly rest you should fit in, so set a bedtime and your alarm and get that shut eye.
Spend the time to treat yourself. If you think a 20 minute sheet mask or some extra time to have a cup of tea and read your latest pick from the library shelves, set that time aside to enjoy yourself and wind down. You need the time to recharge, so keep that high on your priority list.
Keep a planner. It may be something you’re already doing, but if you’re not, this is a life changing habit to have. Every morning, write down your to-do list, your schedule, and any reminders. Save some room on your calendar for any plans that may pop up and your life will instantly be more organised and you’ll be way less likely to forget that really important due date.
Don’t push positivity if it isn’t there. Nobody is happy and bubbly and super motivated all the time, so don’t spend all of your time reblogging positivity quotes on Tumblr or trying to ignore every emotion that is “negative”. You’re human. Life happens and sometimes you’ll be just plain blue. It’s healthy to acknowledge the feelings that make you feel hopeless and unmotivated and seem all too frequent. The sun will shine tomorrow and you will find more and more reasons to fill every moment with meaning every single day.
Here’s to future health and happiness for you all. Cheers! x

This was meant to provide motivation, but honestly, this is more of a list of ways to make sure you get it done, rather than make yourself “motivated”. Either way, this should benefit you somehow.
In the words of Chuck Wendig, “do not fucking multitask”. Carve out a specific time to write and use it to write. Don’t try to simultaneously write and tweet and check your email. Whether it be 15 minutes or 2 hours, write, and only write.
Take breaks occasionally. You can’t just sit there and fog up your creative lens. Go outside and go for a walk. Go to coffee with your friends for an hour. Do something to relax your brain for a while. It’s the same with studying. Don’t drive yourself up the wall because you feel you’re “on a roll”. Your ideas and plans will still be there when you get back. If you begin to get frustrated or your foot starts to fall asleep, take a break.
Use a rewards system. Say, for every 100 words, you get a piece of chocolate. After eating a regular sized Hershey’s bar, you’ve got 1200 words. Go you! (I personally fine this incredibly useful.)
Have people you trust hold you accountable. Have your best friend (or partner, if you’ve got one) check in when they know you should be writing to make sure you did.
Read books like a writer. Read a shitty book and pick it apart to find what you don’t like about it. Read a good book to find what you do like. Use these reflections and apply them to your own work. Nothing helps quite like learning from other people’s mistakes and success.
Don’t get stuck in the planning stages. You may get really excited while planning a story, that huge plot twist, a minor character’s backstory, etc, but keep in mind that at some point you’re going to have to sit down and hash it out. A lot of promising writers never get past the planning stages, so in the words of my very wise boyfriend: “Just write”.
Write in places that make your creative juices flow. Get cozy in bed with your laptop open to a word document, light a few candles, make some tea, get that incense going, and write. Music really helps to get in the mood as well, and if you would like to take a look at my writing playlist, here it is, free for public consumption.
Keep your mind open to new ideas and changes to your story. Your idea will develop and evolve over time, and the beauty of writing is that you can change anything you want and there are no consequences. If you decide to completely scrap a character, remove a subplot, add one in, or change the plot but keep the same characters, you’re totally free to do so. Nothing about writing is set in stone, so stay open minded to new concepts and changes and, most importantly, criticism. (I won’t elaborate on this because I might end up making a whole other post about this topic in the future.)
As always, this is just a compilation of the tips and tricks I’ve found the most useful in my own experience. They may not help, they may help a lot, it really could go either way or somewhere in between, but all the same, I hope this proves useful to you.

At times, I find it extremely difficult to find the right motivation and inspiration to build and sustain healthy habits. I made a list for myself and altered it a bit in the hopes that maybe putting it out there could help you as well.
There are millions of people who are starving right this second and they would kill to have access to such bountiful amounts of such healthy foods as you.

I know that I haven’t posted many things, only about 200 or so but I figured it might be helpful to make this so it’s easily accessible. If you’re on a phone or a tablet or really any technology other than a computer, this should be helpful.
This is my collection of original posts I’ve made that are intended to aide in your writing. This includes lists of synonyms for those words you constantly find on the tip of your tongue and masterposts of incredible resources you never would have thought you needed until you saw it.
I don’t post prompts too often, but when I do, they all show up numbered and ready to explore. I usually post either individual prompts or large lists with a common theme, so you can find quite a few here.
I’m don’t have a ton put into the studyblr side of my blog, perhaps I will later, but for now, the study-related posts can be found here.
These are all of my aesthetically pleasing posts in one handy spot so if you’re feeling stressed or need some inspiration you can scroll though it. It includes pictures, quotes, and collages that are nice looking and bound to light that creative spark in you.
Again, not much in this area yet but it will be expanding soon to showcase all of my favorite songs to write to and songs that I definitely recommend you listen to.
This is just the spot where you can find all of the asks I’ve answered and some mini posts I’ve made in response to followers’ questions.
And of course, you can always use these links to submit your own works, ask me any questions you like, or request posts you’d like to see.

The moment I became terrified and aroused at the same time.
Being Negan’s daughter would include:
-Negan being super protective over you, his only thing to remember his late wife, your mother.
-Going on runs with your dad and him letting you take back whatever you wanted to The Sanctuary.
-Everyone in The Sanctuary bowing to you because you had just as much respect as your father did, no question about it.
-Simon being like a second father to you, Dwight like a brother, but no one would ever be as good as your dad.
-Negan putting you as his top priority, over his people, over his countless wives, over everything.
-Anyone who tries to harm you gets a swift greeting with Lucille.
-Negan allowing you to take the first swing.
-Cute father/daughter bonding moments where he tells you how much he loves you whilst holding you to his side.
-No man would ever be good enough for you in his eyes, to him you were an angel, and if anything were to try and take you away, it would break his heart.

Holy mother dick, guys. I have been struggling to put this chapter together for the last 2ish weeks and just could not find the inspiration to finish it. It’s currently 5:00am. I have been up all night, and I finally found the inspiration. Fitting that my 600th post is a new chapter. Action, tension, pain, tenderness, a literary blueball ending… this chapter has it all. Cheers.

Characters: Negan (JDM) x female reader, Jovana (OC)
Word Count: 4,000 (If it was gonna be long as fuck, I was making it an even number)
Heads up: language, mild violence, verbal threats, teeny tiny hint of smut
Chapter Summary: After being caught by a man named Rick and his two companions, it’s up to Jovana to alert the Saviors before they catch her or decide to kill you.
You squeezed your eyes shut and tried to slow your pounding heart as every muscle in your body tensed. You felt your machete being yanked from your hand and watched as it was tossed several feet away. The sound of their heavy breathing seemed to surround you as the man’s voice spoke again.
“You stay here with her and find out where she’s from. Daryl and I are going to chase the other one down. If she tries to run, you know what to do.”
The barrel of the gun was replaced with the cold edge of a blade against the side of your neck. As the two men ran off towards the buildings, you chanced a look down at your leg. Judging by the amount of blood saturating your pants, you had a feeling the internal sutures were torn as well as the surface ones. The excruciating pain wasn’t helped by the fact that you were still on your knees. You shifted ever so slightly to move your weight to your left leg and were met with added pressure from the blade.
“He said don’t move. I’d listen if I were you.”
You sighed deeply and contemplated your options. Remaining silent was one of them, though it most likely wouldn’t help your situation. Pleading for mercy was another, but the thought of that alone made you cringe. Your ears perked at the sound of another piercing whistle echoing through the air, and you could’ve sworn you heard distant shouting.
Where are the fucking Saviors?
