On November 18th, 2011, a peaceful protest was held in UC Davis. A branch of “Occupy Wallstreet”, Occupy UC Davis was intended to protest police violence on UC campuses. The police responded by hearing their concerns, agreeing and then pepper-sprayed the protesters. That’s right, they attacked students that were protesting the fact that they attack people. source
If you’re thinking “Oh man, someone got some compensation for this, right!?” Yup. Someone did. The cop.
That’s more than a lot of people make in a full year. source
UC Davis “Investigated” this. And the guy who conducted the investigation was a Police Chief William J. Bratton - Chairman of the private business that provides UC Davis’s security. SOMEHOW there wasn’t enough evidence to charge the officers involved in this incident. source
It just came out that UC Davis has paid $175,000+ to a private “Image Management firm”, who is putting all of that sweet, sweet dollar into manipulating Google’s search engines, as well as other networks, to make it a lot LOT harder to find reminders that this happened. Read that what-proper:
source
So let’s take a stand. Let’s fight back against their attempts to censor the truth and avoid accountability for their awful, awful actions and violent corruption. I have before you a perfectly shareable image set, complete with sources and screenshots of proof. Let’s all work together and get the word out about this chicanery. #Love it!

Today I shut my cat in the fridge.
Okay, so here’s the deal. Tali loves the fridge. I don’t know why, but every single time we open it, she bolts for it and jumps in. She crawls into the back of the fridge and nestles int the smallest little corner she can. Now naturally, my biggest fear has been that I’ll close the fridge without knowing she’s in there. And of course, today I went to go grab my Brita filter to pour myself some water. I wasn’t really watching the fridge, and I just opened and closed it really quickly to put the Brita back while I was looking somewhere else. And then I looked around and realized that Tali had been in the kitchen, and now she was nowhere in sight. So immediately, I throw open the fridge door, and there is is, hanging out in the back, content as can be.

I don’t know if you knew already but the now famous super cute FinnRey cosplayers are trying to legally adopt their baby. Their deadline is very soon and are a long way away from their goal so please try and help them if you can <3
If Uber has ever made you feel uncomfortable or if you heard of or personally experienced sexual assault while using Uber, consider Chariot for Women.
Chariot for Women is very similar for women but it is strictly for women (and boys under the age of 13) and all the drivers are women. There are many security features established such as the driver must confirm their identity before every drive and there is a safe word given to the driver and passenger.
Also 2% of each fare is donated to women-focused charities.
The app is being released on April 19. I strongly consider everyone to check it out.

Here’s a wild notion! Consent is not consent when you pressure someone into saying “yes.” Consent is not consent when someone agrees to something solely because you won’t stop bothering them about it. Consent is not consent when someone says “yes” just to get you to be quiet. Consent is not consent when someone says “yes” to something they consistently said “no” to before, and are now only saying “yes” because you refuse to accept no for an answer.
Most people do giveaways when they reach a certain number of followers. I do it when I reach a certain level of critical mass on my “junk i don’t want” shelves. So! Here’s what I got: a box full of random stuff from Loot Crates and Nerd Blocks past!

An Alien Vs Predator blind figurine, unopened. LootCrate Exclusive.
A Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft squishy stress ball thing, unopened.
A 300-piece Rick and Morty puzzle, unopened.

A light-up Green Lantern ring.
A tiny Star Trek TOS communicator notepad.

According to evolutionary doctrine (I personally don't believe in this, but I assume this is the logic you are using), the needs of the offspring outweigh the needs of the current generation. In light of this particular fact this particular fact, is it still right to terminate a pregnancy of a healthy child in the name of the mother's, who may well never reproduce again or may be permanently emotionally damaged in light of her choice, "bodily autonomy? "Are the burdens of pregnancy that serious?
The rights of a sentient person supersedes the fetus. A fetus has no rights, no sense of perception, cannot form thoughts or feel pain while a pregnant person does. If a pregnant person is choosing to remain pregnant, all is well but it’s disgusting and ridiculous to impose a parental argument when you’re talking about pregnancy. Pregnancy and parenthood are not synonyms.
But, of course, you could’ve utilised our FAQ and our asks or abortion tag.

Oh, holy fuck... You’re absolutely gorgeous...

People now are like, “Your right to free speech doesn’t mean you can express an offensive opinion” Like what the fuck does right to free speech mean, then?
Why do Americans put the month first. It just makes no sense.
Tomorrow, California will vote on a bill that would require crisis pregnancy centers to tell women the truth about their reproductive health options. One politician asked why a lawmaker cared so much about the bill, and her response is PERFECT.
Reasons abortion should be fully covered on all insurance plans:
If you can’t afford an abortion, you definitely can’t afford a pregnancy
If you can’t afford an abortion, and are forced to carry a pregnancy to term anyway, you sure as hell can’t afford a child
Who the fuck do you think you’re really protecting here?
This is not democracy. Officials don’t care about people’s opinion. But we won’t give up!
One superdelegate casually admitted to a Bernie Sanders supporter that she’ll vote to nominate Hillary Clinton, despite 81.6 percent of her state voting for Sanders.
Levi Younger, from Eagle River, Alaska, is a recent political science graduate who caucused last Saturday with thousands of other Alaskans. Younger recently reached out to superdelegate Kim Metcalfe on Facebook, asking her to side with her state and support Sanders at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. Metcalfe, who is listed on the Alaska Democratic Party website as the state’s national committeewoman since 2012, cavalierly told Younger she would be supporting Hillary Clinton, due to her “negative” conversations with Sanders supporters.
“I pointed out how our state’s caucus had turned out and hoped she’d vote for our resounding majority,” Younger told US Uncut in an email. “Things unraveled pretty quick from there.”
As seen by screenshots of Younger’s conversation with Metcalfe, Younger approached the conversation with a diplomatic, respectful tone. However, Metcalfe refused to budge in her support of the former Secretary of State despite the popular opinion of the people, only saying she would support Sanders if he was the nominee.
At one point in the conversation, Metcalfe’s tone turned noticeably sour. She patronized Younger, reminding him of her experience as a Democratic Party officer for decades, and essentially told him his opinion on how she should cast her superdelegate vote was invalid, since he was just a voter.
Near the end of their back-and-forth, Metcalfe talked down to Younger, telling him that if he wanted to change the way the Democratic Party worked, he should get involved and work to change the party from the inside. Younger thanked her for the advice, and gave her some advice in return: To be the change she believed in. By the end of the conversation, Metcalfe compared Younger to Donald Trump.
Sanders’ margin of victory in Alaska netted him 13 of the state’s 16 pledged delegates. Alaska also has 4 superdelegates, meaning 20 percent of Alaska’s total delegate votes at the convention come from superdelegate votes like Metcalfe.
Kim Metcalfe did not respond to repeated interview requests from US Uncut.
Wentworth Miller Slams Meme Mocking His Weight
My great-grandmother was pregnant for over a decade of her life.
She was pregnant at least fifteen times, had over a dozen children. Raised all of them in a big rambling farmhouse in central Pennsylvania.
And I thought about her this afternoon, lying in bed with my spouse after my lazy weekend nap, snuggling him and burying my nose in his hair, taking deep breaths of the scent of his skin. This man who is the center of my universe, my best friend, one of two reasons why I literally decided I had to live and kept fighting through the pain after surgery when I really wanted to just let go and die: I held him closer and I thought of her.
I thought of how family myth tells us that after a decade of being pregnant pretty much constantly, she kicked my great-grandfather out of their house. How she made him go live in his workshop, and he came to the house for meals and to check in.
But he slept in his workshop.
Not because she didn’t love him, but because she did.
She loved him, and if they slept in the same bed together, these two people who had crossed an ocean together, had built a life together after getting out of Poland together, they’d have sex. And because cheap, reliable, universal birth control wasn’t available then, and she was terribly fecund, apparently, she’d become pregnant again, inevitably.
My great-grandmother was TIRED of being pregnant.
So she kicked her love out of the house, and he went. He lived in his workshop, on their farm, and they stopped sleeping together, in every sense of the word. My father tells me he remembers as a child his grandfather sitting outside his workshop, leaning back on his chair, and looking up at the house in which he couldn’t sleep anymore, just… sad.
They missed each other desperately from across the yard.
I listen to @adhocavenger sleep, to the sound of his breathing, a sound that’s as familiar to me as my own heartbeat, and I can’t imagine having to sleep away from him for long. To have to separate myself from my spouse or to have to completely eschew having the kind of sex they obviously enjoyed having. To not have him close enough at night that I can curl up to him and breathe in the scent of his skin.
And that, I think, is the sort of thing that I think maybe I take for granted. That I know I can be secure in the knowledge that I can have sex with my spouse when I want to, and not have a baby.
The personal is political. I do not want our country to continue to slide backward on reproductive freedom. I do not want us to lose our freedom, threatened and small as it may be.
There are a thousand small tragedies that we talk about from the Olde Days. The unwanted baby of the unmarried lass, of course.
But my heart breaks tonight for the story I was told as a child, of the lovingly married couple who had to sleep apart because she was just damn tired of being pregnant.
Because she’d been pregnant for a DECADE of her life.
