Frank Gorshin, Anthony Perkins and Davy Jones (of the monkees) are Batman 1966's version of The Riddler, The Scarecrow and The Mad Hatter. I know the '66 show had David Wayne as The Mad Hatter, but he's not that exciting. So David Wayne is the imposter hatter and Davy Jones is the reason Hatter. Really, this is going to stay in my head as the Batman '66 version of these three forever. Frank Gorshin, Anthony Perkins and Davy Jones. I think it'd be a great pairing to have seen on stage together. They all seem like great performers. I think art of The Mad Hatter snd Scarecrow modelled after Davy Jones and Anthony Perkins would be great, honestly.
But Davy Jones had to be the Mad Hatter. Short and British, he even sort of sounds like Peter Macnicol doing The Mad Hatter for the batman arkham games. And also, well, daydream believer sounds like a Mad Hatter song. Soft yet almost ethereal, it's perfect. A batman 66 episode with the mad hatter would have to have that song worked in somehow (even if we just have the hatter humming it).
I strongly disagree with this.
Your first argument “The prisoners in Arkham need somebody like Bolton to keep them in line. Lyle does that, extremely well.” ‘The Prisoners’, the people held within Arkham Asylum are mental patients, they are mentally ill. Harley Quinn has HPD (histrionic personality disorder) and was stuck in an extremely abusive relationship leading to her life of crime, Arnold Wesker has DID (dissociative identity disorder) and doesn’t believe that he committed the crimes but the puppet on his hand. Jonathan Crane has ASPD (as well as other personality disorders), however, in the Btas, it is quite clear he is a very disturbed individual.
Your second argument “Just because he jerked them around a little, doesn’t mean he’s some hellian. Also, that kind of treatment improves behavior.” Perhaps you may have not noticed because the BTAS is a kids show from the 90s but it is heavily implied that Bolton abuses the patients of Arkham, this has been shown in other media in recent years. To suggest that “jerking patients around (…) improves behaviour.” Is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. It doesn’t work in real life, why would it work in Batman? The Batman universe (ignoring all the supernatural stuff, we’re just talking about Batman n Gotham) reflects real life, corruption, mental illness and (yada yada)
Your third statement “I don’t agree with how he was kidnapping pretty random people though, like a news reporter, Commissioner Gordon, etc…. If he hadn’t done so he'd be innocent in my eyes.” Obviously, you watched the show with your eyes closed, Lyle Bolton, was a character supposed to represent a republican extremist. You can tell by his room and by his use of the wording “liberal media”. Him kidnapping “random” people is him trying to control the city of Gotham to become what he thinks will be better.
And…Commissioner Gordon…a random person?? HE’S THE POLICE COMMISSIONER!!!
Fourth statement “I also don’t understand the hate for him. The other Batman villains have done way worse. At least Lyle does something beneficial for Gothams society” Again, the reason for his hate is because he abuses the patients of Arkham Asylum and other fans of the series actually have empathy. I think the crimes of Lyle Bolton vs The Rogues Gallery can be debated but someone else can do that. The entirety of Gotham Society is corrupted, That's why it’s the most crime filled place on earth. yknow what would make it better? An abusive head of security, so he can make the mentally ill patients even more mentally ill, so they can break out and reek havoc on the good people of Gotham.
Fifth statement “I don’t understand why Bruce wouldn’t buy a better security system for Arkham in the first place. Bolton knows what he’s doing sooo” That's why Bolton got the job in the first place, because of his record but Bruce fired him because he mistreated mentally ill people. Arkham, while also holding mentally ill people holds geniuses, I find it difficult to believe that, let’s say The Riddler, a self-proclaimed genius would have a difficult time with a new “high tech” security in Arkham, the reason it was a wasn't a "revolving door" was because of the abuse. I personally, don’t think the entire problem with Arkham is the security but the doctors, funding, and the system itself.
THATS WHAT IM SAYYING, I THOUGHT HE WAS IN HIS 50S OR SMT
Just did some math regarding Rogues! The Podcast and the results were interesting.
Jon officially turned 44 in 2024, placing his birth year 1980. This is where things get weird.
What's weirder is that "S04E00 | The Files of Dr. Hugo Strange 0932 - Jonathan U. Crane" takes is recorded September 7th, 1995, meaning Jon is 15 in that recording?
Jon killed his dad on October 31st, 1990, meaning he was 10 years old. I was under the impression he was older, like in his late teens.
"Oh well, maybe the series just takes place in the 90s-early 2000s."
You fool.
Edward acknowledges the year multiple times in the series. The earliest in season 1 has him wishing everyone a happy 2013.
Did an independent writer who voices the majority of the characters in an extremely well-written series make a minor mistake?? Am I stupid??
Yeah probably
ABSOLUTELY NOT
Jervis has a lot of feelings. Johnathan wishes all of those feelings were fear.
Alice obviously doesn't know what she's talking about. Jervis is clearly a well adjusted, rational, stable individual! Not on the verge of a breakdown or anything! Not upset that she doesn't share his love of escapism or anything! Not thinking about using his technology for selfish purposes or ANYTHING!!
i like to think that the Arkham rec room has little busy work activities for the patients. most of them you could find in an elementary school until Riddler was admitted, then they had to start providing calculus and trig worksheets lol
Don't you hate it when your childhood best friend who was arrested for larceny and murder, yet claims that he's "No longer mentally ill" despite his insatiable need to cosplay a minor character from a children's book written 160 years ago, kidnaps you for an elaborate larp experience, which may or may not include the violent execution of your city's vigilante?
...on that note, anyone wanna hear the Mad Hatter lore from my batman au??
Woe, Jervis be upon ye!
Riddler who uses a question mark cane not for aesthetic but because of an old injury (though that won’t stop Ed from making it aesthetic anyway).
Ed has a lot of different canes and he sometimes wonders if he ought to pare down his collection. Oswald with his million umbrellas says not to.
“It’s perfectly normal to collect various styles and weaponized varieties of functional style elements, Edward.”
“Not when it’s that many, Ozzy.”
Ed has a slight limp and can’t run well or for long distances. This is part of the reason for his complicated traps and tendency to be at a separate location, as his getaways need a little time.
He doesn’t let his leg stop him from doing crime, or anything he wants, really, and will absolutely use his cane to wallop Batman or anyone else who says different or tries to stop him. Or shoot them, if it’s a gun cane, slice them if it’s a sword cane…
Gun cane, sword cane, taser cane, grapple cane, sleeping gas cane… Ed is beginning to really think he should do something about his collection at some point.
[PLEASE LOOK AWAY IF YOU DONT LIKE SEEING ANYTHING BUG RELATED] Today I was in a very bug anthro/furry mood and decided to doodle my beautiful wife Poison Ivy as a orchid-praying mantis anthro. I love her sm <33
Also yea I was debating on whether or not to have Pam be either an Orchid or Praying Mantis and so I decided a bit of both cause why tf not.
I also felt very inspired by one of my favorite anthro artists Idolomantises and their Bugtopia series! It’s really good.
I hopefully plan to do more with the other rogues! I just need the motivation and thought for what they maybe.

Do you have sleep/dream/nightmare headcannons for Jervis?
Jervis sleep headcanons
- Goes to bed at 9:30pm, wakes up at 6:00am
- An insufferable morning person.
- wears Ebenezer Scrooge pajamas.
- Sleeps on his left side and has very soft snores.
- His dreams are mainly tea parties
- The guests and location varies but it’s always some sort of social event.
- Nightmares are where it get fucked up.
- He has a recurring nightmare where he’s in solitary confinement in Arkham and the walls close in and suffocate him.
- Another one where he’s trapped in a grey cubicle and tries to climb out but then his father fucking appears out of nowhere and drags him back down.
- Theres one where all his friends yell at him and kick him.
- And then there’s this weird one where he’s getting married but the ceremony never starts and he never sees who he’s marrying. It’s just a bunch of people waiting around and then he wakes up confused.
- He’s pretty sure the wedding one is his subconscious bemoaning the fact he’s single.
- He’s not going to think about the actual nightmares.
Arkham Asylum’s infamous hallway of Batman rouges from Batman TAS.
There’s a crawl shot of the hallway and several different camera angles have you get to see who’s in the cells without actually telling you but you’re supposed know by several hints.
The bars or the wall of glass has several things in that hint who occupys each cell.
-A silloute of a coin flipping in the air along with the sound of it landing and slight growling.
-Several green question marks written on the walls and several riddles followed by incoherent mumbling.
-A potted plant, looking Alive and healthy on a small shelf near a bed.
-A top of someone’s hair, which is brown obscured by the cell’s bars or the camera not panning down(for those who prefer the wall of glass) followed by the sound of a page turning in a book.
-A shot of a padded cell with someone in a straight jacket, rocking back and forth. The person’s feet has tally marks on it.
-A glass cell door that lacks airholes. Loud slurping and gurgling noises come from it. The camera isn’t panning down so all you hear is the liquid noises and a shout of “I gotta prepare for my next role.”
-A cell that has sticky notes of the days of the year all over the walls.
-A top hat with a ribbon around it, with a playing card tucked in the ribbon resting on the bed. Followed by mumblings of a white rabbit and finding someone named Alice.
-A cell that’s relatively normal. But there’s a scalpel covered in blood on the bed’s pillow.
-A cell that’s different from the rest in color. The cell is blue, cold blue with several tubes flowing air into it.
-A cell that's completely empty. But it has several words written in some sort of purple crayon that say “HAHA” on the walls.

I'm sorry for just barging in, but you know what I think would be cool? Electrical engineer/ construction worker Catwoman. It would explain how she knows buildings so well and the security involved and it adds a few more layers to her character. (Sense we never really see her work) This random headcanon/idea just popped into my mind and I thought I would share thank you and have a frabjous day/night!
the very first thought i had when i read this was injustice catwoman, which is one of my absolute favorite outfit designs for her that adds an enormous amount of personality to her suit that’s never there in the bland latex cat suits and pure acrobatics she usually gets:
and i think it would be a very, very good addition to her character to have a career like that and building her cat burglary get-up off of the skills she has through that, designing her own suit with functional equipment to help her get around, re-purposing things she already uses and knows how to handle well along with what might be her hobbies which probably include a lot of gymnastics and fighting skills to add onto that.
it would also give her a reason to know a lot of the same knowledge as other tech savvy rogues along WITH her excellent banter and people management skills (at least, that’s how i see her), which would put her pretty high up on the threatening powerhouse rogue list if she wanted to be up there. i would love a catwoman like this as part of the sirens!

Mad Hatter
His words out of a book, learned by heart. Perhaps he was someone else once, but now he is this being of paper trying to be a person of flesh. The world has one dimension too many in which he doesn’t fit.
There is little to say about his appearance, and what may be said isn’t flattering. His nose is the most remarkable part of him, large and bent. Everything else is forgotten, eyes drawn to his hat. He has many, that he wears for different occasions ; a green bowler hat for dinner, a grey béret for rainy days, a blue top hat for murder, a red tricorne for holidays… His favourite is the top hat.
He makes hats for others as well. Put them on their heads and they turn docile, obedient. The world follows the story better with hats.
He smells like Earl Grey and dust, like he is a forgotten book himself. He’s missing his main character, his Alice, which he looks for in the eyes of all women, in the way they smile and in the words they speak. It takes more than blonde hair to be Alice ; he can always dye the hair. There is an essence that he seeks. An essence he never finds. The women get scared, fail, or grow old ; flesh people, changing and decaying. He curses Time and what it does ! It flows between his fingers like a stream, taking away the Alices. The world moves without him, too fast for him to understand.
It’s always 6 o’clock at his table and in his heart. The quest for an Alice never ends.
He's sick of this shit. Might as well put the experience to use.
When the videos first come out, they're more rage rants cause this is happening so often and he's only been there for like 2-3 days. The only thing is part of his first video that Cass ans Steph put on the screen for the others to see. I have written out is that he got nabbed 6 times within the weekend he got here and if he got nabbed a 7th time then this would be his project.
Danny is in Gotham for 3 days and is already sick of the rogues and criminals. He's kidnapped, drugged, and mugged, you name it! So he takes the time to rate his experiences. To make up his semester grades, Mr. Lancer gave him a summer assignment to do while he’s at the Wayne Summer Scholar program to record his experiences. So he goes a little above and makes it a YouTube channel after the third incident on his first day here. Speaking about the rogues from an outsider's perspective behind a ghost image. After the SEVENTH TIME on his THIRD. DAY. HERE. He finally uses a camera, full-on (Silly-ass) rage ranting in a full black motorcyclist gear with a black tint visor that barely shows the green light coming from his eyes if you look super closely. Straight from the riddler's kidnapping today! If it's a more serious video, he'll be in a full gas mask, single colored shirt, a black hoodie over top, and white gloves. Either way, he never shows an inch of skin. Yet, no rogue has made it past 4.5/5 stars cause this kid has ALWAYS somehow experienced worse. A Gothamite calls him on it, so he shares a droplet of his experiences with his rogues, and everyone is getting increasingly concerned for RR. No one has any idea what they look like (aside from Sam and Tucker, who joined the program with him). So everyone is looking out for their midwestern accent. Tim is delighted and confused when #RRSolidarity goes viral.
