That's my OC, Calix Carter. He's a scrawny 13 year old boy, with not a lot going for him. He was raised in a Foster care system, until one day he was whisked away to Camp half blood by Nico Di Angelo and Will Solace.
The link will take you to my story, where you can read more if you're interested.
Hi everyone I wanted to show you a comic that I made for my other tumblr blog.
Hi everyone, I created a comic about mycenaean greece persephone. In this time frame Hades did not exist only persephone and dionysus. So I created a comic that told her story. I hope you all like it.

Seeeeeeeeh, yo también quiero saber que piensan la comunidad griega en Tumblr.
(Yeah, I also want to know what the Greek community on Tumblr thinks).
I HAVE A QUESTION FOR THE GREEK!
Since you guys learn about the Illiad and the Odyssey, what do your teachers tell/annonate about the relationship between Odysseus and Penelope?
Like how do the Greek view the bond between the two? Or did the two of them leave some kind of impact to the Western literature?
I’m just curious so please give me an insight!
I had a dream some of hecates status fell off my altar and one broke apart what do u think this means

"Είσαι παράξενη κοπέλα", είπες... "Όλοι ξυπνάνε το πρωί για να ξεκινήσουν την μέρα τους. Κι εσύ περιμένεις το ξημέρωμα για να κλείσεις το βράδυ σου", είπες...,-
Κι έτσι αντί να σε αφήσω να κοιμηθείς, σε πήρα ξημερώματα από το χέρι, σου φόρεσα κάτι πρόχειρα ρούχα και σε πήγα στη θάλασσα...

Do you ever think one of Cerberus heads feels neglected? 3 heads but only 2 hands.
Pensi mai che una delle teste di Cerbero si senta trascurata? 3 teste ma solo 2 mani.

People who have read "the song of Achilles" need to read "the silence of the girls" and Homer's Iliad, as in song of Achilles the story is told from Patroclus' perspective, someone who loved Achilles so he's incredibly biased and mainly focuses on how amazing Achilles was,
when actually he's the reason so many died during the trojan was because of his massive tantrum over Briseis (who would not have been like a close friend to them she would have just been a slave for Achilles to use)
Then again after Patroclus dies he commits horrific acts "in the name of love" but in Homer's Iliad the entire plot is off Achilles anger, it starts with his annoyance of being dishonoured and ends with his rage as his lover is killed because of his original anger.
Had the most British conversation in my classical civilisation class
teacher: can anyone give a good modern day example of epic poetry like homer's Iliad? here's what we came up with: gangster granny the minecraft movie Mulan kung fu panda Narnia
I love Hector and Achilles so much why’d daddy Zeus have to make them fight :(
When I die I would like funeral games to be conducted in stead of a will. They shall have to earn my spoils if they truly want my inheritance of $2. Naked men wrestling optional.
‹‹ beautiful and good ››
In Ancient Greece kindness and beauty go hand in hand. Valorous Heroes and Powerful Gods are always described with a particular beauty and their brightness is one of the most important characteristic.
In Homer's Greek, eyes are sparkling, the skin is bright and etc, those aspects are translated as "blue eyes", "milky white skin", "golden hair". Lexicon of the colours in ancient greek is also pretty problematic, more than the real shades of eyes and hair, in those texts what matters is properly the level of brightness, because Deities are associated to light, so that Gods and Demi-gods shine.
Also in the next eras the binomial "good and beautiful" benefits of great success: in the greek arts, where beauty canons require beautiful and regular lineaments, also in portraiture of real persons, who appear all uniformly beautiful, similar and without defects (wrinkles, moles, receding hairline...)
Pretty different is, however, Roman portraiture, that goes to realism and made it its main goal.
In Homeric Poems, ugliness and deformity are associated to the viles, untrustworthy, envious. Later, the discourse is modified, because ugliness becomes an allegory and is applied to monsters fought by heroes.
"The strenght of the good is refugee in the nature of the Beautiful", wrote Platon. The beauty of physique corresponds to the moral perfection, according ancient greeks.
Hmmm. Desi person weighing in. I have read Lore Olympus and Trials of Apollo.
In Trials of Apollo, Apollo is depicted as a God of many talents who was unlucky with love, yet his attitude towards others could somewhat lead to this failure in finding love. He is seen as someone who admired mortal aptitude for the arts yet was also someone who thought of mortals and demigods as things to observe like a human observing a gerbil. He comes to admire the bravery that demigods show and also realises that even among places like Olympus and the island of Delos he has never really had a place he could truly call "Home" and his family is quite disfunctional.
Artemis is seen as someone who simply doesn't feel romantic love but understands it's power. She is not comfortable with skin-ship yet will try to comfort her brother when she can.
Zeus is seen as a somewhat manipulating person who holds his own interests first as he feels that they are logical this must be respected.
Piper McLean, daughter of Aphrodite, sees and despises how her mother is underestimated. She tries her best to understand her mother and does respect her intentions.
For this, I do respect how Riordan has portrayed the Olympians and the original PJO series has little to do with the Olympians and more with the specific demigods and their stories. So I don't think he deserves the flak. Rachel is something else entirely.

I HATE PEOPLE FUCKING POSTING ABOUT THE GREEK GODS
The next time I see someone say Hades is "actually a cinnamon roll" I am starting a fucking fight. No. Fuck no. Go fuck yourself. The popularization of actual deities as silly little characters is disgusting and go take a minute to learn about hellenic culture and religion please and thanks.
The gods are not fun characters for you to assign whatever personalities you want to. Just about every media representation of the hellenic gods is so far off it's not even recognizable. You wanna talk about the gods' personalities then go listen to some hellenic pagans and polytheists who can offer more modern but still respectful answers
