Gryffindors are bright mornings, leaves dripping in gold. They’re the trailblazers, unafraid of the road ahead. They’re laughing so loud your stomach hurts, the knowledge that your friends are right behind you wherever you go. They’re ice skating with someone you love, clinging on to them for dear life. They’re make-believe games with quests and dragons and swords pointing at the sky. They’re rosy cheeks, winter winds and freezing hands. They’re the adrenaline when a plane takes off, the drop at the top of a rollercoaster. They’re delighted screams and freedom, the wind through your hair. They’re panting, pillow fights, feathers bursting into the air. They’re finger painting and festivals and burning sunsets. They’re the burn in your lung after chasing something you’ll never be able to catch.
Hufflepuffs are honey and flowers and the soft autumn sun. They’re knitted jumpers and scarves and soft tan boots. They’re fresh air and nature, the sound of birds singing. They’re rolling down a hill in the spring, grass stains on your knees, daisy chains in your hair. They’re waving at someone across a crowded room, bright smiles and laughter. They’re coming home after a long day and seeing your family. They’re playing fetch with your dog, your cat weaving between your feet. They’re fluffy socks and song birds and kraft notebooks with hand drawn patterns. They’re throw cushions on a bed, a tiny cottage surrounded by wilderness. They’re the ground beneath your feet, the air that you breathe. They’re the light you chase when you thought you’d never see the morning.
Ravenclaws are leather bound books and overstocked libraries. They’re waking up at two am to google that thing that’s bugging you. They’re journals with half the words crossed out, scribbles and ink stains and missing pages. They’re stretching when you’ve been hunched over all day, rolling off the edge of a bed, burrowing in blankets. They’re torch light and held breaths and reverent whispers. They’re the entire night sky and everything beyond it; the embodiment of the universe. They’re desperate searches and hidden castles and ghost stories by firelight. They’re the mystery of a dark corridor, the force of a whirlwind. They’re the excitement of discovery, the rustle of crunched up paper. They’re the last whisper before you fall asleep.
Slytherins are foggy hillsides and picturesque landscapes. They’re hand written love notes and subtle glances across a classroom. They’re black boots, long coats, buttons done up to the top. They’re tipping your head back to breathe the air, kicking up stones on a deserted path. They’re mirrored lakes, everything below the surface. They’re the confidence to get something right, the feel of magic in your fingertips. They’re holding your breath underwater, pretending to be a mermaid when you swim. They’re finding that one song that makes you want to create a storm. They’re the chill in the breeze, the force in the tide. They’re enchanted forests and lingering glances and long drives. They’re the lightning and the thunder and everything in between.
I'd like to see Severus speaking with Dumbledore, maybe arguing about the children or the war, or remembering Severus' old days at Hogwarts. Maybe talking about the times when Tom used to be a student.
I want Severus to look exhausted at Dumbledore and say:
"What pains me the most is that you genuinely seem to believe that you care."
And then just leave.
More feral Severus Snape?
Like, I already proposed a Severus that goes back in time and chooses to turn his back to the WW, but now I feel more like getting a Snape that takes a look around, realizes he's back, takes a deep breath, rolls up his sleves, cracks his neck and goes...
"Very well... Bring it on."
A bit like "Falling apart", but with a bit more crack, maybe?
He just doesn't give a fuck, he's got no more shits to give about what's going on. His goal is to have a quite, paceful and solitary life, but he concludes that, with the war going on, he won't get it.
So, he goes around with a single goal in mind. He does consider leaving Hogwarts altogether, but decides to stay just to freeload on the castle while he applies to take his OWL's and NEWT's earlier. He wants a life, after all.
The werewolf pranck? He laughed at Sirius face.
The lake incident? He blocked the levitating spell and punched Potter in the face.
Lucius trying to recruit him? Bleached Hair got a middle finger.
Slughorn trying to talk to him (a weak half-meaning attempt that was more insulting than anything)? An eyebrow raised and no words.
Detention? Ha! Sure... Who do this dumbasses think he is? (A student, Sev... They think you're a kid). He's got no time! He has a Dark Lord to stop!
And when Dumbledore wants to "speak" with him - read: Interrogate him on his latest activities that are getting him out of the castle and into the forest and Hogsmade (and all over Diagon and Knockturn Alley, plus many other places, though Albus doesn't need to know that) -, Severus speaks circles around the old man.
He's tired and angry, and can't stand people anymore, and he is going to get out of there and fix things so he won't have to ever put up with any of them again.
Ok...
I need someone in the WW with a gun. Preferably Severus Snape. And I'm not saying he should go and shoot the Marauders or Voldemort. I'm saying that people in the WW are so fucking condescending that I want them to see and understand why exactly there is a statute of secrecy.
I clarify that this is mostly something I see in ff and I'm not sure if it's so much like this in canon. Feel free to tell me.
But back to the point, the amount of wizards compared to muggles is laughable and with the appropiate weaponry wizards are toast.
Also, poverty. I headcanon that the concept of poverty in the WW and in the MW are not the same. People goes on and on about how poor the Weasleys are and, ok, they aren't rich, but with only one working parent they manage in a family of nine? Wtf?
Ok, Ron took his own food instead of buying from the cart on the train, and yes, they used hand-me downs. That doesn't seem like enough reason to view them the way everyone there seems to.
Arthur literally works in the goverment.
Now, lets think about the people we see briefly on Knockturn Alley. They look very poor.
What does poverty entail in the WW?
Lets go step by step.
Assuming you can pay for housing, even if not a very good place, and you are able to afford enough food.
There is no electricity in that world, so that's one thing you don't have to consider. There is gas, maybe, if there are normal ovens. Then water.
And then you have bills to pay for your property.
Then, normally a person would have to pay for the furnishing and clothes they use, correct?
Everything, and I mean everything you own would be used indefinitely.
With no magic things break and clothes wear off. They can also be too big or small. Or maybe you simply don't like them, idk.
With magic everything can be repaired as many times as you need and what you fixed would be as good as new (for exampke, Harry's glasses in the first movie where an 11 years old Hermione fixed them). Clothes, maybe can't be repaired (though I doubt it), but if you are careful, with shrinking and enlarging charms, they could be used for a long time, maybe even by different people. I idk if there is enough transfiguration around for you to change clothes into something you like better. Going by Ron's reaction at the suit he used for what I think was the Yule Ball, I'm guessing you can't (which I find weird, but ok, lets go with that).
Conclussion, clothes and belongings would not be as much of a problem in the WW than in the MW.
Lets go with light, water and gas, yeah?
There is no electricity. You can literally make water appear. The amount of effort required is not specified, but if you had need of clean, drinking water, you can get it. And if you can't afford gas (assuming it's actually necessary in that world), there are spells to start fire, to heat water and who knows if there are actually spells to warm up a person.
Now, lets make thing even more unfortunate and assume you have nowhere to live.
Are you going to tell me that a person wouldn't pull up a Newt Scamander and live in a bag? Hermione charmed her bag in DH, so it can be done. Maybe get a cereal box and charm it to live there, who knows?!
And food. Ok, this may be a real problem, but perhaps there are also ways aroud this. Going and growing your own food it's not easy, but if you can create different micro-climates (again, Newt Scamander), and with spells and potions you can't convince me don't exist, it is possible.
But would it really be necessary? Would a person with magic reach that point when they can go to the MW and use their magic for easy coin? They could go around fixing things with no effort and receive regular payment. They could scam people or rob a house and go to Gringotts. Sure, justifying the money could be a problem, assuming the goblings care. Or they could simply buy everything in the MW and discard Gringotts.
My point, people in the WW would not imagine how things could be if they found themselce with no way out.
Perhaps I'm being unrealistic (even if we are considering magic) and am not seing something or cknsidering other things that would make all of this things too hard to be pulled of. Once more, feel free to tell me.
But lets go back to the gun thing, ok?
Because with all I've read in fanfiction I feel like wizards are portrayed in a way that makes them seem incredibly condescending of muggles while at the same time they manage to remain ridiculously ignorant. And even if I'm going by a lot of what I see in fanfiction, I feel that canon is not very far from it.
So, lets give someone a gun, lets get someone shot, not fatally, so they can tell the tale. Someone should be hit or nearly hit by a car. Damn, make someone get electrocuted. Make them see the effects of drugs.
Take them to a fucking hospital so they may see what its like to break a bone and have to endure a surgery and weeks or even months without being able to use a limb because there's no quick, easy fix.
I have this headcanon that some people in the WW need a reality check.
So...
Dumbledore is a complex character. Some put him as a hero, some as a villain. Both are good, honestly.
I think my favorite representation so far is from "Falling Apart", a Severus Snape centric fic.
And, I'm pretty much a Snape fan.
I'd like a bit of a more friendly relationship between them, but not the mentor-apprentice kind. More like, two very exhausted adults, one too old who thinks he knows everything, one too young, who knows too much and is done with life.
And, please listen here, Severus calls Albus 'Wulfric'.
Imagine, Severus just coming from a meeting and Dumbledore asking in an overly happy manner 'How are you, my boy?', even though Severus told him not to call him that.
'Very well, Wulfric. You?'
'All is well, Percival.'
'Just peachy, Brian.'
All the time. Alone, with Order memebers around, other memebers of staff or in front of Hogwarts' children. He would do it in front of Voldemort if he had the chance.
Imagine, Severus calling Dumbledore 'Wulfric' the same way the headmaster calls Voldemort 'Tom'.
This post is about the Tom x Severus ship.
It's not precisely a popular ship, so that's your first warning.
Your second warning is that they are so ooc that they can be considered different characters altogether.
That said, i've had this story idea in my head for a while, that I will probably never write but anyways...
I was thinking about the typical time-travel fanfic where Severus dies in the battle of Hogwarts and wakes up in the past. He goes back to a point in time in which he is still a child, way before Hogwarts. I was thinking it could be at a moment where he had showed accidental magic already, so Tobias was already an asshole and Eileen was already in her way to Depressionland. But, since part of his mind is still that of an adult and he retained his knowledge of his previous life, he is able to control his magic, so once he is back, he never had anymore bouts of magic.
He goes to muggle school. When he gets his Hogwarts' letter he is alone, so he writes a rejection letter and burns the one he got. His parents know nothing and life keeps going.
He graduates from high school and goes to college. I was thinking on a Chemistry mayor, what do you think?
He's been brewing since before getting his Hogwarts letter, under a pseudonym and selling his experiments on Knockturn. He got part-time jobs. He has enough money and by the time he starts college he moves to London.
Life is good, tranquil, he has friends and does what he likes.
One day he's coming back from classes and finds Dumbledore waiting for him at the door of his own fucking apartment.
He goes, pretending he doesn't know who the old man is, planning on telling him to go away. He is about to do it when the Dark Lord appears behind him.
Next thing he knows, Dumbledores is appareting the three of them to his office at Hogwarts where a mixture of the Order and some death-eathers is waiting for them.
Now, Severus pretty much cut all ties with the Wizarding World. Aside from his dealing in Knockturn he is not really aware of anything there and has no idea of the current political climate. So, he doesn't know about Grindelwald coming back.
That surprise is coupled with a, not totally recovered, but mostly sickly-looking human form of the Dark Lord.
Now, this is the part where I can't decide. I have, so far, come up with three possibilities:
1. Severus literally tells them everything. Well... mostly.
He tells them he is from the past and is reliving his life. He tells them he used to be a death-eather but then he became a spy. He tells them how he died.
Lastly, he tells them not to bother him.
He goes home, and finds his apartment was a mess. Someone forced their way into it. He hears screaming on the floor above his own and finds some of Grindelwald men attacking his neighbors.
He kills two and takes one to Hogwarts for interrogation. He will help Dumbledore and Voldemort. Apparently there is no option. Fuck.
2. Is the same, except that Severus tells them nothing about his coming from the future.
And then, some time into actively helping Dumbledore and Voldemort fight, he finds out Tom is also from the future.
Fair warning: It's awkward.
3. Into the first half an hour of being in the headmaster's office, Tom says or does something that makes Severus realize Tom is also from the future.
Severus practically freezes for a good minute before glaring at Tom. Then Severus says something that he very well knows will tell Tom when Severus is from.
And Tom looks at Severus with what could only be discrabed as terror.
Severus then punches Tom in the face, hard. He may had broken the man's nose. A second later, he takes the other flying to Merlin knows where to have a conversation.
No need to say it but, Sev is mad.
From here, everyone else can conclude that the two of them already knew each other. This, coupled with future interactions that show Severus' lack of fear of Tom and Tom's apparent hesitation, leads everyone to the conclusion that Severus was Tom's ex. They tried to deny it with varying degrees of success.
------------------------------------------------------
So? What wpuld be better?
I had a thought: What if Eileen had been just as bad as Tobias?
Snape hated muggles mainly because of his father, and I'm gessing that his love for his mother aided his idealisation of the wizarding world. Maybe she was good, or perhaps neglectful, point is, she wasn't as bad in comparison to her husband, which probably made her good in Severus' eyes.
But what if she was just as bad?
Would Severus hate pure wizards too, then?
Main reason he chose Slytherin was his mother too, so he probably wouldn't have cared in which house he ended, or perhaps he, like Sirius, would have hated that house.
I think he still would have been interested in dark magic, but I don't think the others in Slytherin would been able to get to him so easily, even if he ended in that house again.
I can actually imagine him remainig neutral to spite everyone or helping the Order because Lily was a part of it.
Also, I belive the marauders would have ignored him in favor of some other Slytherin.
I can picture the scene in the train, with James asking him which house he wanted to go to, and Severus merely shrugging in response, maybe suggesting Ravenclaw as a probable ending.
From there, James and Sirius probably wouldn't care about him, and when Lily ended in Gryffindor, well, the lions and the eagles tend to get along alright.
And this Severus doesn't like girls, simply because I say so. But even if he did, I don't find much logic in him falling for Lily. There is a moment in friendship when you simply know the other person a little too well to fall for them. And that is something that would have to be practically beaten into James skull, but they would get there... eventually.
And maybe Voldemort would actually try to recruit Severus, but I don't see that succeeding.
The lake prank and the werewolf incident wouldn't happen either.
So... I'm probably looking to closely into this and twisting it a little too much, but think about it for a second: If he can't see how both worlds have good, then maybe he can see how there is just as much bad in one as there is in the other.
Hi, I may or may not delate this later, but I wanted to rant about the werewolf incident between Snape and the marauders and its honest sheer idiocy. And I mean Idiocy on everyone's part.
First, Sirius. What the fuck is wrong with you, man? What made you think that it would be a good idea?! Are you really going to say that you thought Snape would not get gravely hurt? That he could not end up dead or cursed like your friend? You know, the one you outed?!?
Now, Snape. What kind of rubbish crossed your mind when you decided that doing what one of your bullies said was a good idea? What made you think that going to a supposedly haunted house in the middle of a full moon nigth was ok? In Hogwarts, the castle next to a forest full of creatures and deadly plants. This boy suspected that something was happening, and I've read that he had already started to figure out Lupin's problem. So why did he go!?!?
And Dumbledore. Did you really think that detention was a good way to deal with near murder? I'm not talking about it being sufficient, though it wasn't. I'm saying that there were a bunch of very traumatised teenagers rigth in front of him and he didn't do anything, or at least, nothing that had been explicitly mentioned. I'm talking about some kind of counseling and a better eye on them. Things had clearly gone too far, but you take one and punish him in quite an inefficient manner and don't specifically tell him why; take the other and threaten him into silence, then tell him that he owes a life debt; praise the other for his heroic actions (which perhaps was right but, idk, just hope he didn't do it in front of Snape just when he was dragged out of the shack, that would hace been too soon. Also, I've seen people writing Lily using James' saving Snape's life as proof of the later being unfair and the former being good, which only points to Potter not knowing when to keep his mouth closed...); and lets not forget about the werewolf whose secret was reveled by one of his friends and was nearly pushed to kill someone, did Dumbledore do something for the boy not to mentally collapse?
Just, it was all handled so badly.
Sirius felt way more guilty about revealing Remus nature than nearly killing someone. He kept talking about how much of a pest Severus was and seemed to pretty much think he truly deserved what he got. I don't think Sirius was a bad person, he was screwed, the place he grew up ensured that, but he had other people, he had the chance to learn and was capable of emphaty. But I don't think it really hit home what he nearly did.
James must truly have felt like a hero and what he did was brave, but bragging about it was degrading for Snape and a remainder for Lupin, not to mention the fact that the question of what he had saved Snape from, was dangerous territory for Remus.
Snape was nearly killed and then left alone to deal with it with no kind of support or compensation. I understand the need to keep things secret, but the life debt thing was going too far.
It's just that I get they were kids, only 15, but they had or should have had enough awareness to think trough what they were doing.
Dumbledore had a lot on his plate, and again, I don't think he was bad, but he screwed up.
Honestly, is there a fic where Severus thinks something like 'nah, no way I'm going there, I don't care if they think I'm a coward, I'm not that stupid' and then goes to bed to wake up the next day with nothing happening?
Hi. Does anyone know of a fic where Snape for x-reason uses the sword of Godric Gryffindor or is said to have Gryffindor traits in front of a good amount of people?
I just want chaos.
The idea of the hat considering your traits, but also the ones you most value is something I like. There are lots of opinions about Snape and the marauders and I think they are all right and wrong at the same time. All of them did a lot of shity things and some had more chances in life than others. Snape, in my opinion, had it hard but also burned many bridges with his own hands.
Ultimately I find his character more interesting, so is there any fic like this? I like Bamf!Snape. I don't mind pairings all that much but I'd rather for it not to be with Lily. It's nothing against her, simply don't really like the pairing.
Just, some people realising their own bias and misconceptions and freaking out. I can also picture Snape internaly freaking out and watching the sword/sorting hat as if it had personally insulted him (the hat probably did).

Happy Holidays! As a Christmas gift, I'm going to spam post Christmas icons! Stay safe and have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
the houses with friends and blankets
Gryffindor- gives friend their blanket
Slytherin- goes to get a new blanket for their friend
Hufflepuff- shares their blanket
Ravenclaw- has an extra blanket just in case already
They have a schedule that indicates who leads the lessons every day.
No age limits. First years bond with older students. There's no strict colored uniform, so lots of students make friends without knowing what house the other one is in.
Imagine McGonagal joining a few times, and feeling shy around all the youngsters, but everyone has so much fun and beg her to come again every day. It's special days every time she's there.
Poppy and Pomona join any time they can. They always come together and giggle just like teenagers around them.
Flitwick LOVES it and earns lots of compliments from whoever leads the practice which makes his day. Everyone knows if he was praised this morning for his moves, he'd happily complement everyone's moves in his own class.
Hagrid makes horrible dad jokes, but everyone hysterically rolls on the grass, sometimes work-outs end early.
Snape would never, but he secretly asked for advice on back pains and exercises in his room.
No thoughts, just fluff. Happy holidays to everyone!
Tried a new style. For The Common room December Quibbler challenge, Harry/Luna with the trope "Midnight kiss".
Because I love to make options but not choices 🙄 Anyways, I hope I nailed it on this step. But I also have a feeling that the final one gonna be something completely different. Or maybe not, maybe I'll just make 50 more options and hide in my closet (again lmao) from my inability to choose only one and you'll never see me again. Completely possible... Any favorites? Help😭
I know I'm a big Glee shipper, but canonical Georgelina is an absolutely amazing couple too! I honestly refuse to choose just one ship, they're all so gorgeous in their own ways. As long as I see characters happy and relationships healthy I support any ship.
But I have to say, I see Angelina as an independent woman, who's really into her career. She's passionate about quidditch and I just don't think that romantic relationships were anywhere around her priorities until maybe her late twenties. She doesn't need a partner to be content and happy. And I definitely do not see Angie as a bad/evil character. This woman values friendship, loyalty, kindness, hard work. She has a voice and is not afraid to use it, but by no means is she a terrible person. Yes, even if she possibly had a thing with one twin in her teenage years before marrying another one in adulthood who's a completely different person btw. I don't think it's correct to compare these two relationships.
I personally would love to read more stories where Angie is a supportive friend, a loving partner, and just a gorgeous successful woman. I'd be totally up for more Georgelina post-war fics, this love story has so much potential. It's so beautiful and stunning, come on! Relationship goals.
Rant is over, have fun y'all ♥
I don't have any new art for y'all yet, so we gonna talk about random stuff that my brain thinks is important to mention.
Did you notice usernames here??
Percy uses his full name. What else to expect from him right? It's adorable though
Wood makes sure everybody knows he's a captain.
Lee agitates people to Be Lee because he's happy to be himself, but like he also loves bees. They're fluffy and do bzzz
George goes with Gred + weasel + bee as a link to Lee, ADORABLE RIGHT? Also, it's a small reference to Weatherby
Fred is a bit simpler. No time to think about the username. Gotta go, gotta move, HAVE TO DO THINGS BUSY
Ron just explored Don Corleone thanks to Hermione and also he thinks it sounds cool and terminator-ish. Honestly, I can't express what I meant in words, I just feel that he'd mix up a weird salad and maybe use some things wrong, and only he understands his chain of thoughts and what's so wow about this nickname
Ginny is just the one and only. Period.
p.s. I REALLY hope that I use Gred and Feorge right, I believe they use them linked to the first letters of their names because the original joke line was about them not being able to remember their names and that's why they need letters on their sweaters as a reminder. Please if I'm dumb just let me be, save me from embarrassment.
p.p.s Ron uses this emoji because he's not comfortable with witnessing his siblings' in PDA kind of situations and he's quick to imagine things that he never ever wants to imagine. I guess he's a bit dense when it comes to his siblings. I believe it's in his character to think that they idk play games when they're alone with their partners. He wouldn't think they could hold hands/cuddle/kiss etc. So it's basically a shock for him every time. And he's not really good with expressing emotions, so this is what we have. Puking face ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'm not deep into Ron's character, just my vision of him based on nothing, yep
HAPPY PRIDE EVERYONE
I'm so proud of this lol. Should I make more fake insta pages? I had lots of fun
Also, if you have any ideas for hp fanart, you're welcome. I'm focused on weasels and griffindorks of the golden era rn, but I don't mind some slytherins. If you're willing to share your thoughts and ideas on glee, you're my bff and I love you. Please give me more glee. I love glee. I live for glee. Glee.
p.s. Sorry if I made any mistakes, I'm not native and tried my best
Extention #1
So, first of all, I do NOT believe, that these two dumbasses had no scars from all explosions and experiments. You can disagree and say that they could probably wipe away scars with magic. And I'm not saying you'll be wrong. But think about it, why would they do that if sCaRs lOoK sO CoOL aNd mAnLy? That would be the official reason for the public. The real one? I believe this could be their way to add more differences between them. Also, for some mysterious reasons (spoiler: someone should learn how to stop his uncontrollable brother and also start to say no at least sometimes) George has the worst and most noticeable scars. Bet poor Molly pulled all her hair out.
Earrings? Fred and George would absolutely 100% look up to and imitate Bill in some ways. What're the most obvious "Bill" things? Long hair, the earring with the tooth and scars. You see my point? Parrots.
I'm a big sucker for long hair. I'm also a sucker for George. Yes, yes, I hysterically ship him with Lee, I know. Don't try to find any logic, I don't have any. It's the only reason we have George with long hair. I can't think of a proper one.
And the last thing. I do love the idea of George with the bump on his nose and Fred with a straight nose. Also, I think Fred would have a crooked nose. Because it's broken quite often. Again, for mysterious reasons. Everyone agreed it's one of his things at this point.
I have no idea if I did it right and kept everything in the right places. There's a chance that I messed it up, oops
I kept drawing different faces for George and thought duck it, I need a proper design. I have zero patience and too excited to wait till tomorrow to make it sparkle with some necessary details, so you might expect a kinda similar post later 🙄
Sorry, I have a thing for long hair, so it was called. Also, I once read a fic where George had a mole on his upper lip and I can't stop thinking about it
p.s. Might change every single thing later idk
p.p.s. It's my vision of the twins(for now at least), it's fine if you don't vibe with it
p.s. I know they look a bit older and don't really fit for the Yule ball as I originally planned, but I'm really not good at drawing teens. It might be any other event in the future. A wedding, perhaps? *giggling uncontrollably* Maybe I just overthink as usual. Idk, imagine whatever you wish.
Absolutely shitty gif below enjoy

GLEE MY LOVES
I did a redraw because I can and why not
I love them so much, I don't even know why they make me so happy
Lee with an eyebrow piercing is my absolute everything
Swear I have more
Also, hello and welcome new peeps! I hope y'all staying safe and hydrated and do whatever people have to do to get through another day. It's ok if you don't though, in that case, I send some support your way. Anyways, I love and appreciate everyone here
So I've been seeing a lot of harry potter and like slytherin and house stuff all over and i have one thought. Why are they sorting children into houses using their personalities? Like when i took the pottermore quiz on my 11th birthday i was sorted into hufflepuff but when i retook the quiz at 15 i was slytherin. If anything first years should have their own dorm and then be sorted when they are second years.
Reasons why this should happen:
1: It gives people like Draco malfoy who grew up in a muggle-hating household the time and space to be around muggleborn students giving him a chance to make his own opinion about them.
2: It would ruin the harmful stereotypes for houses especially slytherin
3: It would give more house diversity especially in the main cast
4: remember when ron told harry that slytherin house was "evil" and that makes harry fight the sorting hat putting him in gryffindor, yea that probably wouldn't happen.
Fuck hogwarts houses. What element would they bend?
The Wizarding World did not stop existing after The Boy Who Lived. The prologue of the books say as such. Encouraging and confirming that wizarding life went on after the series. In fact, the world was much bigger than just Harry Potter and went on much longer. Though its world building was full of whimsy, much was left undiscovered or in the margins.
A Wizard’s Hearthstone will be my additions, extrapolations, and edits to the magical world of the Harry Potter universe set in the 21st Century.
Starting first, with the legendary school itself.
🍁Hogwarts🍁
Hogwarts is a wild, magical place of learning. Filled to the brim with adventure and history. The old stomping grounds of many a great wizard and a place of wizarding history both old and new. However, not all were too pleased about the students fighting against the dark wizard terrorist group and their horrifying resurrected leader. Nor the subsequent deaths of numerous of its student body and staff.
It’s safe to say that such a thing would leave many educators and parents in an outrage after the smoke had cleared. For all of Hogwarts defenses, its once prestigious lessons were criticized and its magical armor torn asunder. Big changes were quickly made to respond to the outraged call of the wizarding people en masse.
Magical defenses were reenchanted and purged of any holes it its spell work. Secret passageways discovered and marked. Students and staff are now required to keep an identification pendant keyed to their magical signature to be allowed entrance. Among many other new and developing defenses.
The Forbidden Forest is now monitored by a new group of magizology rangers. Who provide safety, education, and preservation of the magical creatures that stalk the ancient woods. Students are no longer brought there for a fear mongering detention, but to instead lead by the Rangers to keep the forest cleaned up from trash and to understand the incredible importance of an ecosystem working together in tandem.
The Thestrals who pull the carriages are kept in a sturdy barn and wide open pastures. Monitored by a ranger and occasionally the Care of Magical Creatures Professor to ensure both their safety and others.
However, perhaps the biggest change was done to how the education was carried out. With Hogwarts being criticized, so was its tradition. No longer are students organized into their houses based on their 12 year old personality, it is now decided based on learning style and values. Think of them like learning programs where students can thrive and find like-minded individuals. There are other factors that decide your house such as learning style, level of preliminary education, learning pace, ect.
Every student gets the same amount of care, and a lot of the classes look similar due to the professors, but the way things are taught are catered to what program/house they’re in.
Students in need of an even more personalized education program will also have accommodations organized with the head of house to meet their needs. Parents will be informed and can be involved if necessary. (Extremely special situations will also include the Headmaster/Headmistress)
There is also the ability to transfer houses if the need arises. A discussion between the Head of Houses, Student, and Parent is arranged to provide the best understanding and support for the student.
Houses are still decide by The Sorting Hat, but its sentient nature has allowed for an explanation to it of the changed curriculum. It now provides a quick test for the students that allows it to understand where they would best thrive. It does still take into account personality, but it’s less of a priority now than in years past.
…More to come about the individual changes to the houses!
