Sirius Black is the father of all time. He works on homework with Teddy the second they come home with it, even though they’re just a kindergartener. He kisses every single injury, from paper cuts to broken arms. He carries them everywhere. He reads bedtime stories every night. He celebrates every birthday like it’s a massive milestone. He plays all the silly games they come up with and is completely in character it the whole time, be it dress up, tag, or make believe, he’s down. He never raises his voice, let lone his hands. He wakes up to change diapers or feed in the middle of the night. He welcomes every friend and partner into the house with open arms, so long as they’re good to his Teddy. He attends every parent-teacher conference and pays rapt attention to everything the teachers say. He bakes cookies every weekend and keeps track of all of their favourite foods so they’ll always enjoy what he makes. He buys thoughtful gifts at least once a month just to show his love a little more. He makes time for all of their school plays and sports games and competitions. He brushes their hair even when they’re well past the age he should if they forget to, just because he can. He pays for their wedding and pretends not to cry when he sees how happy Teddy is. He drops off fresh baked goods and leftovers at their house when they move out whenever he can. He shows them how to fix their car and appliances and everything else. He teaches them how to do makeup and hair when they ask. He gives advice on anything and everything. He researches all of their interests so he can have good conversations with them. Eventually, he becomes the world’s greatest grandfather, doing everything he did for Teddy and still being there to help them alone (he babysits whenever he’s allowed because he loves them all so much).

Remus Lupin calls Sirius Black baby!! It doesn’t matter that Sirius is 6’5” and 300lbs with a strongman build, covered in tattoos, heavily pierced, and insanely strong (in all ways possible), he is Remus’ baby. He sits on the ground between Remus’ legs and rests on his thighs while he works. He curls up against Remus’ side, arms around his waist, nuzzling into his neck when he feels too vulnerable. He routinely lays on Remus’ lap and silently begs for forehead kisses and praise. Remus refers to Sirius as “baby” in public and then this massive bear of a man walks over and wraps his arms around Remus and pulls him into his chest and people are terrified. But Remus is just like “yeah that’s my baby! Hi baby!” and Sirius kisses his head and calls him the most heart-wrenchingly touching and beautiful names ever… I love them to death omg

I don’t gaf who you ship Sirius with as long as they are literally willing to get on their knees and beg for his attention. That’s all. He should always be worshiped by his partners because he’s literally the best and they all know it. Fuck you. Actually you know what he doesn’t have to pick all of your ships are real they’re just his harem

This being part of the entomology of Walburga Black’s name is probably telling of her treatment of those she disagreed with (see: Sirius). Also, Harry and Sirius both relating Dolores Umbridge (who repeated physically and mentally tortured Harry) is also something to note. Not to mention the constant screaming at everybody, especially Sirius, in portrait-form, and how Sirius behaves when in 12 Grimmauld Place. That was the behaviour of a man forced to live in the place he was abused.

OH MY GOD YES THANK YOU!!

In Hogwarts, Peter always thought she was really pretty. He was shy and quiet in public, but very funny and charismatic when he got close to people. He’s not a conversationally attractive guy, and he’s pretty insecure about that. He’s very smart, smarter than most people give him credit for. He’s obviously good at transfiguration, being an animagus and all, but I also think he excels in herbology, care of magical creatures, and history of magic. He has a snarky, sometimes cruel side, especially when he’s younger. He likes pranks and he’s the kind of person that can and will hold grudges (he works on that and being unnecessarily cruel when he’s older, don’t worry). When he’s at Hogwarts, he goes on a handful dates, but nothing really sticks. Once he graduates, he decides to focus more on his friends, family, and career. He, again, goes on a date or two, but never makes it past the third date.

Background stuff: 5’3, fat, straight + demisexual+demiromantic, healer who specializes in kiddos, grew up with a single mother and big sister. His father was a muggle who left a little after he was born because the guy couldn’t deal with magic anymore. He visited with his grandparents a lot growing up and was very close with them (they helped his mom out a lot!). He doesn’t have any cousins or uncles/aunts.

Charity, meanwhile, was very popular. She had a big friend group and knew a lot of people outside of that. She’s very, very kind and compassionate, very much a lover, not a fighter, and very pretty. She was a Hufflepuff, so they didn’t talk a lot, but I do think that they were both in the chess club for a little while. She was also very smart, excelling in muggle studies (obvs), charms, herbology, care of magical creatures, and ancient runes. She’s very forgiving and always sees the best in people, but it sometimes goes to the extent of her becoming a doormat and being too trusting of the wrong people. In Hogwarts, she goes out with a lot of guys (and even some girls), even has a couple of relatively longterm partners. Later in life, it’s about the same. She’s a few months out of a 5-odd year relationship when she meets him. Her friend group also gets smaller and closer as she gets older.

Background stuff: either 4’10 or 5’5 (can’t decide if I like the idea of her being taller or shorter than Peter but I’m leaning towards shorter because I think it fits her personality better) quite small, either pansexual or bisexual, muggle studies professor at Hogwarts, grew up as the youngest of four sisters with a loving mom and dad. She’s a pureblood, but she has a muggle grandmother whom she loves dearly. She’s the biggest daddy’s girl in the world and is very close to her sisters. She has a few aunts/uncles on both sides and a lot of cousins. Family reunions are big for her!

Between them, Charity is the more confident one. She asks him out. It’s a private affair, they’re just sitting together and she turns to him and admits that she likes him a lot. They’re ~30 by then. By that point, they’ve been friends of varying degrees of closeness since they were ~24. They’re pretty fast friends and start to like each other relatively soon, but Charity is nervous about taking it further after her recent breakup and Peter doesn’t want to ruin their friendship. When she’s recovered from that, she waits a few years again because she also doesn’t want to ruin it.

They are very much the dates-in-the-park and cute little hangouts kind of couple. They both like romance a lot and enjoy very stereotypical couple dates. They do a lot of cute PDA (i.e. cheek kissing, hand holding, whispering to each other) and really enjoy quiet, domestic time with one another. If they love soppy, sickeningly sweet movies and quoting the sappiest lines at each other.

Moving in together/getting together is easy for them because of how long they’d known each other by then. They both love sleep, so they spend a lot of time cuddling in bed, just existing together. Their favourite thing to do is slowly wake up in the morning, kiss and snuggle for a while, go back to bed, and repeat a few times until they decide it’s time to actually wake up. They also both like cooking and food, so they make it a point to cook, at the very least, breakfast and dinner together. They also bake together quite often.

If they’d gotten together in Hogwarts, I think they would’ve loved going to parties together, but, as they get older, I think it would become less and less important to them. As it stands, they are the most domestic domestics to ever domestic. Charity also gets align with the Marauders really well, even though she thought they were a little obnoxious back in Hogwarts. Peter gets on with her friends (Aurora Sinatra, Sybill Trelawny, Septima Vector, Bathsheda Babbling) as well.

Ultimately, they fit together really nicely and I love them so much. I think they’re so cute!!

May I suggest Peter Pettigrew x Charity Burbage? I think that would be fun. I headcannon Peter as being really insecure hit desperately wanting someone to love him, then Charity, an attractive, kind, confident girl just kind of. Shows up? She pinches his cheeks and kisses his nose a lot. He melts every time. His friends tease him about it, but they’re all way worse about their significant others.

I think that in a good AU, Peter would become a healer, probably one that specializes in treatment of kiddos (wizard family doctor/paediatrician). We know that Charity is a professor at Hogwarts. I think they didn’t really know each other when they were students. They knew of each other, I think, but only had a couple of conversations in shared classes. Peter always thought she was pretty, but never did anything about it.

Later in life, they met and got closer through Remus when he became a professor, too, at some point in their mid-early 20s. They took it very slowly, starting as acquaintances, then friends, then, after at least a few years, started dating. Now, despite getting together so slowly, I think that they were close enough by the time they finally made it official that they were a bit quicker than usual when it came to becoming serious. The second they got together, they were exclusive. Maybe eight months later they move in together. I’m imagining they’re nearing 30 at this point.

When they get engaged, it’s Charity who gets down on one knee. They get married, like, a year after moving in together. Not a lot of people are invited, but it’s a pretty big event. They both like big parties and events, but they also have a strong sense of family and would want to keep their close friends/family there without people they don’t know well.

I think I hate people because on my fic about Sirius struggling with societal norms and wanting to dress feminine but not wanting to be perceived as weird I explicitly stated TWICE that he wasn’t trans (in that fic) and somebody STILL commented about how it was a great female Sirius fic??? I’m so sorry are we illiterate? Are we dumb? What happened? I literally told you he’s a cis guy. He made a big deal out of it. It’s a fic about how society puts people into boxes based on appearance and he didn’t want people to do that. Where do I go wrong? Did they just not read part of the fic? Did they just close their eyes? It was literally tagged as “boys in skirts” what do you mean female Sirius???

Remus who can’t swim because of his physical disabilities which mostly affect his legs and hips and back. Remus who, despite being a little scared of it, loves the ocean and water. Remus who feels bad every time he sees somebody swimming or a pool.

Sirius who is a very strong swimmer and puts Remus on his chest to just exist in the water with his feet off the bottom for once. Sirius who invests in pool floaties so Remus can swim on his own. Sirius who teaches Remus how to float on his back so he can be in the water without floaties.

It’s very strange that I keep making Sirius French even though I headcanon him interchangeably as French and Russian. Do you guys want me to make him Russian more often? I fucking love Russian Sirius he means so much to me. I think Russian Sirius should be more popular. Also there’s so much French Sirius I want more other ethnicities for him. English Sirius is neat, too. I’ve read stuff with Korean Sirius, that’s fun, I’ve seen it a few times. I don’t think I’ve read many headcanons about Sirius other than French, which is wild because Remus has been plenty (German, Dutch, American, English, Welsh, Danish, Canadian, etc.) and James has had a bunch (Indian, desi, Filipino, Punjabi, English, Spanish, Mexican, etc.). I’m not sure why we’ve all collectively decided to make Sirius French but I’d really like some more variance.

i have always been a Romulus Lupin truther!! I'm like you where I don't really like ocs if they impact the main plot but i make this once exception. Idk if it's my major bias towards Remus but he just doesn't seem like an only child to me and I think Hope and Lyall would've had more kids if Greyback never happened

I've seen a few hcs once that Romulus did exist but Remus killed him during a full moon before he joined Hogwarts so he never talks about him. Personally I go completely off of cannon in this instant and hc him to be six years older then Remus (im just a sucker for siblings) and he dies with Hope during the first war

You’re so real for the Romulus being older than Remus thing! Remus gives off such younger sibling vibes. On the topic of that, our Moony is definitely the younger twin. He’s definitely not older. They would definitely have had siblings if Greyback didn’t get involved, I think.

That headcanon that Remus killed him is wild. That would never happen. Hope and Lyall were so careful about it that’s it’s just kind of ludicrous. Him dying with Hope in the war definitely sounds much more plausible than a lot of the other Remus-has-a-brother things I’ve seen around.

I’m a sucker for angst, lol. I feel like they would both have a long few years of deep resentment, probably spurred on by going to Hogwarts and being treated the same by staff, then coming back home to the unbalanced treatment. They get along really well pre-Hogwarts, but things change and they grow more and more distant.

They end up working it out after Regulus dies, because it makes Remus realize that the possibility of losing a family member is very, very real, and he doesn’t want to end up like Sirius and his brother. Then they meet up, talk it through, and Romulus and Hope die like a year later. That got way darker than intended but y’know.

On more kids if Greyback didn’t happen, though: I think that Hope and Lyall were not only too busy with Remus, but also afraid of Greyback coming back for more. Although, Remus’ condition would take up a lot of time. I do think they’d have younger cousins, though (I have Remus’ whole family tree planned out in my head).

What if muggle AU Sirius and Remus meet in a mental hospital. What if Sirius is angsty and suicidal from his parent’s abuse and Remus keeps having panic attacks due to being in a car accident that left him physically disabled and they meet there. What if Sirius is grumpy and mean and aggressive because of trauma and Remus is quiet and jumpy and shy because of his pre-existing anxiety. What if Sirius takes a liking to Remus because he never treats Sirius like he’s some kind of bomb about to be exploded and that fascinates him. What if they get close because Sirius looks for people to protect after the death of his brother and Remus definitely needs protecting. What if they get close because Sirius needs someone to support him and help him stay calm and Remus is really good at both of those things. What if they learn to lean on each other and accept help together. What if they sit together and listen to music together while Sirius draws and Remus reads. What if James comes to visit Sirius and he’s so much calmer and even smiles and when he asks about it Sirius talks about this cute boy with freckles and a cane who sometimes needs a wheelchair and has the sweetest laugh. What if Hope and Lyall come to visit Remus and see how much he’s come out of his shell and how much more comfortable he’s gotten, and when they ask why, tells them about this boy with long hair and piercings and the sharpest wit he’s ever seen. What if they slowly get closer and closer and closer while bettering their mental health. What if they fall in love with each other more and more while watching each other become healthier and healthier.

I love writing oneshots and that’s most of what I post buuuut I’m currently simultaneously working on 2 big stories/series (story 1 in series 1 is 65 chapters, story 1 in series 2 is 30 chapters).

The first is a MASSIVE werewolf!Sirius AU featuring lots of angst in the past and some less severe angst in the present that follows him from fourth year to adulthood (guys it’s literally huge). The second is a Sirius-is-a-father AU with, again, a shit tonne of angst, both past and present, that has a big focus on recovery. Both feature WolfStar, big Marauders friend-group stuff, and Sirius and Regulus being close (I know right? I started plotting them a while back, which I hope is a sufficient explanation).

Which one would you guys prefer I work on first? I’m gonna get both of them up eventually, of course, but I struggle to stay focused on one thing for long periods of time so I’m gonna take a break between them.

I will always and forever give my dearest Reloops a cane and chronic pain + back/hip/leg issues. I’ve been looking for excuses to do a Remus-centric fic in which he gets to have a cane + crutches + walker + wheelchair depending on his physical abilities/pain levels/weakness each day. Remus with chronic illness is also very dear to my heart. Disabled Remus is general is just really awesome, in my opinion. Lycanthropy is such a good metaphor for disability and, even in non-muggle AUs, there’s no way such brutal transformations twice a month wouldn’t affect his physical health.

Maybe this is my sign to start that fic…

I first heard of him because I saw a bunch of posts about him like a week ago, and never heard of him again. His only mention was in like book 5 (I think) in reference to a bunch of death eaters. Only his last name was mentioned, then She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named tweeted to say more about him. His birthday is in December and I’m 99% sure his initials are EM. His first name is like… Elias…

Sirius who is so fucking confused when Remus doesn’t hit him. Whose memories of romance are all centred around his parents yelling and hitting, but everyone says marriage means they’re in love, so they must be. Who assumes that blood and broken bones and insults are all as much a part of a relationship as kissing and touching and giggling. Who wonders, one day, when he’s a little high and a little drunk, if Remus really loves him like he says he does if he won’t hurt him. Who gets on his knees and begs Remus to hit him, to hurt him, to make him bleed, because that’s all he knows.

James and Sirius are both kind, but in different ways.

James is sweet and kind. He’s loud and makes it known that he’s a nice person (not necessary on purpose, it’s just how he is). He’s all for grand gestures and big moments.

Sirius is stoic and kind. He does little things for people without even expecting them to know it was him. He fixes things and helps out without making a big deal about it, and people only really notice when their oven is actually getting to temperature or their bathroom door no longer squeaks.

Little Teddy doesn’t know what Daddy’s name is, but they figure it must be either “Moony,” “Love,” “ma Lune,” “Amour,” or “Chéri,” because that’s what Papa always calls him. They assume that at a few of the names must be nicknames, because, as far as they know, people only have one name. They’re pretty sure his name is Moony, though, because that’s what James and Peter call him, too.

Papa laughs for five whole minutes when they tell him their conundrum. Daddy just smiles like he does when they show him their cool jumps and tells Papa something in Welsh.

Sirius is the opposite of touchy, bro will punt you if you get too close (he’s traumatized annoyed by touch). James, Peter, and Remus are all pretty touchy people (Remus acts like he’s not bc he’s scared to hurt people, but he is). The first time Sirius gives them hugs (which are really just him awkwardly putting an arm around their shoulders and squeezing a bit, maybe with a back pat or something) they are bouncing off the fucking walls with excitement

Peter probably wouldn’t have a pet, but, if he did, he’d get a gecko or something small and unassuming, I think.

James would own a dog— a husky, probably, something he can have fun and workout with.

Remus would have a cat, probably a stray with some kind of disability he could just sit with and read with some tea (and water, for the kitten).

Sirius would definitely get a massive dog, a rescue, I’d say. Some kind of huge, scary mutt (like Padfoot) with a bad history, maybe of violence or acting out due to abuse.
