Big sister advice school addition ๐๐๏ธ๐
Here is the next installment of my big sister advice for academics.
School is easy if you just do the work you should know everything for the test.
There is no reason (except for literally terrible teaching) that you wouldnโt know the concepts for the test unless you didnโt do all the work assigned to you.
Obviously this doesnโt mean that you shouldnโt study or practice the skills but if you have no clue what could be on the test you didnโt do all the work.
But if you are struggling in the class there is no longer an optional assignment or an extra credit opportunity you arenโt going to do. Always do extra credit anyway because 102% before the final means you can relax for finals week. Plus the teacher will take note and you could probably get a letter of recommendation from them.
Having a predetermined homework time is the best thing you can do
No matter what do homework at that time. If you finished all the homework for the week do next weeks.
Mine were at 7am-9am (I work best first thing)on Monday and Friday and I had to work the entire time so I basically never had to work outside of those times except for studying and reading.
It only benefits you too be ahead.
If you have the ability (some courses are not laid out that way) to get ahead in work you should. Especially if you are given a list of all the assignments before hand.
It gives you the ability to take days off and knowing what the lecture is going to be on before you head in will help if you have a hard time focusing.
Even if it is just skimming the reading right before class itโll help.
You are allowed to be disappointed in grades (even if they are still good grades)
This past term was the first term in college where I didnโt get a 4.0. I got an A- in chem and I literally was 5points away from an A. (Honestly a B wouldโve been less devastating and Iโm not being dramatic)
Even tho my gpa is perfectly fine I am allowed to be frustrated with myself because I know that that 5 points was easily attainable I just got lazy towards the end.
Donโt let people tell you you canโt be upset over a slightly low grade. But also donโt beat yourself up about it if you truly tried your hardest and did all you can do. There is a difference between a B where you worked for hours on end did all the assignments but the class is that difficult and a A- in an easy class but you allowed yourself to slack off. (Self call out lol)
But obviously donโt push this standard on other people cuz thatโs rude. Even if you wouldnโt be happy with a B if your friend is celebrate celebrate with them. Donโt be a bitch
Be strategic in what classes you skip.
I am not going to be all high and mighty and say I never skip classes or try and tell you to go to every lecture no matter what. I barely showed up to my math class this term. But I still got an A because the class was assignment based and in a subject I can do in my sleep. I did all the homework and showed up for the tests and did great but if you canโt do that with a class donโt act like you can. Pick and choose your battles.
Never skip a class you struggle in!!!!!!
You never know when a teacher is going to say something that makes everything make sense. Or give you the best life hack ever.
Getting all your homework done before the weekend means you can have a social life.
If you want to have a good life/school balance you have to schedule when you complete things.
School should always come first so if you want to party that weekend you better finish everything by Friday.
Also not really school related but if you are gonna be a party girl in college (me too me too) donโt party everyday of the weekend!!!!!
Itโs seriously unhealthy to consume alcohol like that consistently and guess what you can get burned out from too much partying just like you can get burned out from too much work. Even hot girls can be functional alcoholics and thatโs not cute.
If you are going to make it an every weekend thing make sure itโs only one night. So you still have one day to recover from the party and one day to be productive!!! Obviously there are going to be some weekends (halloweekend) where people go out multiple days in a row and to that I say know your limits and be safe! Please please freshman donโt make halloweekend be the first time you drink!!!!
Thatโs all I have for school themed advice! Hope you all have great day!
Love you all Xoxo๐
I need a part 2!!! So inspirating!โคโ
small life lessons we can all pick up from audrey hepburn โก
be kind: what is more beautiful than someone who is genuinely kind? there was no doubt audrey had a huge heart! among her many amazing qualities this is what also magnified her beauty, she was a philanthropist and did humanitarian work around the world, constantly at aid to the people who needed it. audrey hepburn believed in kindness, she treated everyone around her with respect.
when you are kind your aura immediately becomes brighter, you attract what you put out into the world and people who are the same will naturally gravitate towards you because of the positive energy youโre putting out. treat everyone around you how you would like to be treated, say your pleases and thank youโs, give out compliments, and most importantly spread love!
โfor beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.โ ~ audrey hepburn
โremember, if you ever need a helping hand, itโs at the end of your arm. as you get older, remember you have another hand: the first is to help yourself, the second is to help others.โ ~ audrey hepburn
learn languages: audrey was fluent in 6 languages! learning a new language brings you closer to the people and the culture for sure, and improves so many functions in your brain as well! It brings you so many job opportunities, and more of an excuse to travel the world!
the best part about learning a language in the twenty first century is that there is access to soooo much information for free online! youtube, tumblr, and language exchange apps have so much information when it comes to common languages people are learning around the world.
audrey speaking italian โก:
be graceful: audrey hepburn exuded grace, despite all of the hardships she experienced in life including the natzi occupation in her home which resulted into a lot of unfortunate events, she still followed the things close to her heart like practicing ballet and attending classes before and after the occupation, becoming a actress and movie star, and devoting her time and energy to UNICEF. what a hard working woman!
audrey also had amazing posture from her ballet background and spoke to everyone soft and smoothly, it was so pleasant to hear her speak!
being graceful makes you radiate from the inside out, itโs in how you speak to yourself and others, itโs how you carry yourself, itโs giving your best to everything you do and are passionate about and wanting to better yourself as a person, itโs walking with confidence with everything you do that it will rub off on the people around you as well! walk tall with your shoulders back and chin held high, walk into your grace and own it!
apply these 3 things to your daily life and watch yourself slowly bloom into a person who is improving day by day into a lovely human being โก
โข Get your degree, get your bag and be your own man. Be independent.
โข Don't get married or move in with someone until your brain is fully developed (age 25)
โข Be obsessed with improving yourself every single day. You can create your own dream life.
โข Don't get pregnant unless you're emotionally, physically and financially ready.
โข Be surrounded by people that make you wiser, happier and prettier.
โข You are still young in your 20's, 30's, 40's and more.
โข A relationship is partnership: Make sure he helps you too
โข Always take care of your appearance
a guide to looking effortlessly perfect
"Youโve got the false narrative of a girl who spends 30 seconds on her appearance, when, in fact, you probably spent hours.โ
1. basic hygiene:
having clean teeth and good breath
smelling good 24/7. i highly recommend finding a signature scent as a scent is associated with memory, id suggest something sweet yet not too overpowering like vanilla.
being clean in general. regularly shaving and exfoliating your skin to get rid of bodily hair and dirt that accumulates on your skin to make your skin glow.
clean nails. having clean and maintained nails (with a simple design if you wish) looks better than having acrylics that are wayyy too long and appear tacky.
2. hair :
having smooth healthy hair looks much better than dry and damaged hair. take care of your hair by finding the best products for your natural hair. get rid of your split ends as they make the hair appear really damaged.
in my opinion, loose waves look the most effortless yet pretty. but donโt ruin your natural hair by applying too much heat! you can try heatless styling methods to achieve this look.
3. diet and exercise :
being toned is the way to go to fit this aesthetic
avoid oily foods or sugary foods that damage your skin. donโt completely get rid of these as we all have our cravings, but try your best to avoid it
find a workout plan that works best for you, keeps you healthy but doesnโt burn you out! moreover exercise releases endorphins that improve your mood.
4. makeup and skin care :
natural makeup on clear skin fits this effortless aesthetic perfectly!
take care of your skin by finding a routine that fits you the best, consult with a dermatologist for the best results.
having smooth, blended makeup creates an illusion that you arenโt wearing any at all! this appears much effortless than a full face. also try to avoid those really huge false lashes that make you look tacky.
maintain your eyebrows and find a shape that fits you best!
5. outfits :
having a signature style which suits your body type is essential. experiment until you can find what suits you best! you can use a body analysis app for this.
wearing outfits youโre confident in, hot but not too revealing goes a long way. confidence is key. wearing overly revealing clothing might seem like one is trying too hard, but if you can carry it with confidence then thatโs great!
jewellery : having dainty, signature pieces is key! find out which suits you better (gold or silver) through an ai analysis and invest in timeless pieces. personally, i think minimalistic pieces such as solitaires, simple pendants, classic hoops etc. look much more effortless.
6. personality :
donโt be too judgemental towards anyone as you donโt know what theyโre going through and this makes you seem unapproachable
donโt talk too much or overshare! this creates a mysterious aura which draws people to you more
confidence is key! posture is very important too, carry yourself with confidence and walk with your head held up high.
7. examples and references :
serena van der woodsen (gossip girl)
mia thermopolis (the princess diaries)
cher (clueless)
elle woods (legally blonde)
rory gilmore (gilmore girls)
robib scherbatsky (how i met your mother)
gigi hadid

Get yourself a planner, stick in all your to-do lists, make a vision board cover, write in everything you need to remember, want to think about or must complete. Or, get a Notion, make it aesthetic and build the habit of opening it every day. Use lots of light, blush pinks and pastel greens, make a colour-code and treat yourself to highlighters in your favourite colour combos. The better of an overview you have of your life, the less anxiety and stress the unknown brings you. Protect your peace.

Study because you like expensive things. Study because you have a dream. Study because you yearn for knowledge. Do it because you love yourself and won't settle for anything but the best future. Do it for your family, so one day you can take your parents to Rome or Paris. Give your best so that your teachers can feel proud of themselves. Learn because you want to, not because you have to.
