don’t care, never cared, will never care
Big sister advice school addition 📖🖋️📚
Here is the next installment of my big sister advice for academics.
School is easy if you just do the work you should know everything for the test.
There is no reason (except for literally terrible teaching) that you wouldn’t know the concepts for the test unless you didn’t do all the work assigned to you.
Obviously this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t study or practice the skills but if you have no clue what could be on the test you didn’t do all the work.
But if you are struggling in the class there is no longer an optional assignment or an extra credit opportunity you aren’t going to do. Always do extra credit anyway because 102% before the final means you can relax for finals week. Plus the teacher will take note and you could probably get a letter of recommendation from them.
Having a predetermined homework time is the best thing you can do
No matter what do homework at that time. If you finished all the homework for the week do next weeks.
Mine were at 7am-9am (I work best first thing)on Monday and Friday and I had to work the entire time so I basically never had to work outside of those times except for studying and reading.
It only benefits you too be ahead.
If you have the ability (some courses are not laid out that way) to get ahead in work you should. Especially if you are given a list of all the assignments before hand.
It gives you the ability to take days off and knowing what the lecture is going to be on before you head in will help if you have a hard time focusing.
Even if it is just skimming the reading right before class it’ll help.
You are allowed to be disappointed in grades (even if they are still good grades)
This past term was the first term in college where I didn’t get a 4.0. I got an A- in chem and I literally was 5points away from an A. (Honestly a B would’ve been less devastating and I’m not being dramatic)
Even tho my gpa is perfectly fine I am allowed to be frustrated with myself because I know that that 5 points was easily attainable I just got lazy towards the end.
Don’t let people tell you you can’t be upset over a slightly low grade. But also don’t beat yourself up about it if you truly tried your hardest and did all you can do. There is a difference between a B where you worked for hours on end did all the assignments but the class is that difficult and a A- in an easy class but you allowed yourself to slack off. (Self call out lol)
But obviously don’t push this standard on other people cuz that’s rude. Even if you wouldn’t be happy with a B if your friend is celebrate celebrate with them. Don’t be a bitch
Be strategic in what classes you skip.
I am not going to be all high and mighty and say I never skip classes or try and tell you to go to every lecture no matter what. I barely showed up to my math class this term. But I still got an A because the class was assignment based and in a subject I can do in my sleep. I did all the homework and showed up for the tests and did great but if you can’t do that with a class don’t act like you can. Pick and choose your battles.
Never skip a class you struggle in!!!!!!
You never know when a teacher is going to say something that makes everything make sense. Or give you the best life hack ever.
Getting all your homework done before the weekend means you can have a social life.
If you want to have a good life/school balance you have to schedule when you complete things.
School should always come first so if you want to party that weekend you better finish everything by Friday.
Also not really school related but if you are gonna be a party girl in college (me too me too) don’t party everyday of the weekend!!!!!
It’s seriously unhealthy to consume alcohol like that consistently and guess what you can get burned out from too much partying just like you can get burned out from too much work. Even hot girls can be functional alcoholics and that’s not cute.
If you are going to make it an every weekend thing make sure it’s only one night. So you still have one day to recover from the party and one day to be productive!!! Obviously there are going to be some weekends (halloweekend) where people go out multiple days in a row and to that I say know your limits and be safe! Please please freshman don’t make halloweekend be the first time you drink!!!!
That’s all I have for school themed advice! Hope you all have great day!
Love you all Xoxo💋

What I Do To Prep For A Date
I'm in an interesting situation where the guy I've been eyeing as prospective arm candy has asked me out to dinner. Him and I are currently only friends but he has asked me to dinner, and I'm in my plotting era, so even though this is not a date, I am going to prep for it like it is because at the end of the day, he asked me to dinner at a restaurant, not a bar, so I need to make sure I look my best for the environment.
Step 1: Wax
I know what you're thinking, and I want you to stop thinking it because I've been celibate for over a year at this point. I wax regularly anyway and I'm planning on investing in laser this summer, but I am going to make sure I get an extra good wax in by sugaring my bikini area, my underarms, and my legs. I'm not particularly hairy, so this part is actually pretty easy.
Step 2: Nails
To get your nails done in Spain is very inexpensive, and I can get a mani and a pedi done with $50. I just do a classic french and call it a day. Normally I do my nails at home, but all my stuff is in the US at the moment, so to the nail salon I go.
Step 3: Outfit
I am in my budgeting era, and I am not getting a new outfit for this outing. This man is upper-middle class, he golfs, he plays tennis, he's a former junior Spanish national figure skater, you get the idea. The outfit I'm wearing is something I know I love and feel sexy and comfortable in, and it's something I know will catch his eye. And that's all there is to it.
Step 4: Skincare + Makeup
I've been slacking on my skincare, but there is always time to turn things around and my skin is very mildly textured, so I need to really hydrate it so that when I apply my makeup it looks good and applies evenly. I'm going to go very minimal on the makeup because this is just dinner with a friend, not a date, so I'm going to walk the line between showstopping and more casual.
Step 5: The Gym
You guys already know that I've been in the gym daily for 30 Hard, so I'm going to continue this for the sake of my health and mental wellness, and to ensure I look as good as possible in the outfit I choose to wear to dinner.
Step 6: My Smile
My smile is my most complimented feature, and I plan on using it to my advantage and so for the next several days, I'm going to be oil pulling, brushing twice a day, tongue scraping, AND flossing, and if I can get my hands on some whitening strips, I will be using those to get a few shades brighter. My oral health has been desolate recently and I've been drinking a lot of coffee, so the time is now to make sure I get back into a good routine and use my best asset to dazzle and make this man fall in love with me.
Those are all the major steps! I try to make it easy and painless, and this dinner is a little impromptu, but I think it's in my best interest to show up and show my face since my presence has been specifically requested. These tips are not anything crazy in my opinion, and I hope this short guide is helpful to you!

What To Do With A “Wasted” Day 🤍🧘🏼♀️🎧
So you’ve worked really hard and now it’s your one day off when you said you would be productive but instead you’ve been in bed all day and it’s already past noon. Don’t worry you are not a failure or lazy you are most likely burnt out and need a break. Here is how to be gentle on yourself while still getting a few things done.
First things first get out of bed.
Best to plant your feet on the ground and allow yourself to breathe and ground yourself.
I have also done where I’ve tossed my phone to the other side of the room so I have to get up to get it (make sure you trust your phone case first though)
Start laundry
I always like to start with my bedding so that I can’t get back into bed. Also because getting into a clean bed at the end of the night is the best reward.
You don’t have to do anymore laundry if you don’t want but it is an easy chore that doesn’t require you to focus on it for a while.
Get out of the house!!!!
Put on some lounge wear and your hair up and get out of your house.
Go get coffee or pick up lunch.
It also helps to go for a walk or pick up groceries for dinner later.
Do 3 things
Pick three tasks that will take less than an hour in total.
These don’t have to be big tasks just any task that will make you feel more accomplished.
Normally I say pick the hardest thing to do first but in times like these I recommend doing the easiest for that quick source of dopamine so you don’t get discouraged . Trying to do the biggest thing first might make you procrastinate more.
Reset for tomorrow
Ask yourself a simple question “how can I be kindest to my future self?”
This can be as simple as gathering your bag for tomorrow or meal prepping a breakfast for yourself.
Or if you are feeling really motivated you can clean your space and do another task from your to do’s
Go to bed
Eat a nice dinner, take a shower, put on a comfort show and enjoy your night!
Remember to go easy on yourself and allow yourself to rest at time. Society and hustle culture will always make you feel like you aren’t doing enough but rest and relaxation is productive.

+ emotional intelligence: the ability to understand emotions (yours + others) with empathy and how they impact behaviour. without it you are liable to be defensive, self-centred, and experience a feeling of disconnection (from self + others).
+ resilience: how well you react when something bad happens. do you fall apart or can you navigate challenges without setting yourself back?
+ critical thinking: the ability to slow down and approach ideas with rational intelligence so that you can make thoughtful, considered decisions instead of impulsive, reactive ones.
+ adaptability: remaining flexible to the circumstances and cultivating the ability to deal with change (see also: resilience). can be more difficult if neurodivergent; they key is to be gentle + forgiving with yourself.
+ (healthy) self-discipline: doing what you need to do regardless of whether you 'feel like it' (see also: emotional intelligence, so that you're not ruled by your emotional state). remember that you can cultivate healthy discipline with gentle nurture that builds confidence over time, rather than toxic discipline that uses shame, fear, and punishment.
+ self worth: continuously building the foundational idea that you are worthy of the good life. without self worth, most attempts at self-improvement start with grandiose ideas of huge change and result in broken promises, difficulty sticking to goals, and a spiralling shame cycle.
