Weight loss tips that have helped me
-Cardio cardio cardio!! Do as much cardio as you physically can. Running especially.
-Not all calories are the same. Using your calories on protein and fibre rich foods will be a lot more beneficial for weight loss than using calories on carbs and fat, even if it’s the same amount of cals
-Literally destroy ur abs. Building ur abs will help your stomach to flatten and muscle also burns increased calories daily.
-Water and more water. At least 2L of water a day and make sure you drink water with food.
-Not really weight loss but avoid 0cal fizzy drinks. Even though they won’t make you gain weight, they are bad for ur gut health causing you to bloat.
-Take iodine tablets to boost your thyroid and metabolism.
-Herbal tea!!! Green tea ~ metabolism. Peppermint tea ~ digestion. Horsetail tea ~ shedding water weight.
-If you are prone to a binge and restrict cycle then eating may actually help you loose weight (heat me out). If you have finished your calorie limit for the day and still feeling hungry, satisfying this hunger with low calorie snacks can prevent bingeing. Eating a hard boiled egg (78cals) or a handful of veg/fruit will help to suppress that hunger slightly over ur calorie limit which is a lot better than bingeing.
-Take vitamin B complex can boost metabolism.
-Apple cider vinegar can really help with fat burn! However it is so disgusting that I would sometimes end up feeling really ill after talking it. I now take apple cider vinegar in tablets.
-Coffee is a very good snack. Suppresses hunger and caffeine boosts metabolism. Black coffee is around 0cal and sometimes I like to have it with sugar free almond milk which is about 11 calories per 100ml. I also drink my coffee with a 0cal hazelnut syrup which makes it an even better snack!!
Comment pls if you have any other tips for me!
I was drawing myself in tim burton style last night, i genuinely felt so upset by it cause it had me with insane proportions it was hard to keep drawing. I want to get worse some days and it sucks that im like this. my meal options keep getting smaller, and family discussions about my diet are becoming a weekly event. i cant wait to get out of here :(
My Personal Tips 🩷
○ I manually count c@lories, so if something has too many components that I have to count, I just won't eat it because I'm lazy
○ I eat more c@lories throughout the day and less at night. If I save all of my c@lories for dinner or a specific meal, I tend to end up overeating. By eating more during the day and less at night, I can still eat within my c@lorie goal without feeling overly restricted.
○ I only eat half the serving size of food. For example, whenever I eat cottage cheese or oatmeal, I do half the recommended serving (sometimes 1/4 of the serving). This reduces the c@lories but still makes me full.
○ I try to add a fiber or a protein source to each of my meals. This increases satiety and reduces cravings.
○ I do pilate sessions 2 times a day; one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Pilates is pretty quiet, so my family doesn't get suspicious, and there's tons of different types. I have a pilates app to keep me more accountable.
○ I always leave food on my plate. Even if it's just a couple bites it still makes me feel in control. I also share a lot of my food.
○ If I really feel like I need to, I'll pvrge dinner (my family makes home-cooked dinner every night, so sometimes they can be high in c@lories and c@rbs). Honestly, I need to stop doing that because it's given me terrible acid reflux.
○ I go for bike rides on the weekends. I typically go for 90 minutes and burn 600-800 c@lories per session.
○ I drink 2-3 liters of water and day. (Water speeds up fat burning rates). Sometimes I'll add lemons or chia seeds to my water for extra nutrients
○ I journal and plan out my day.
○ I mealprep so I never have an excuse to eat something else
○ I get ready (almost) every morning, even if I'm not going anywhere because it makes me feel more put together, which in turn makes me make healthier food choices.
○ I'll "trick" myself into not eating. Instead of saying to myself "I can't have this", I say "I can have this, but I don't want it/like it/feel full." Once I tell myself a lie enough times, it becomes the truth.
stuff like this causes my hypochondria to go mad
Hey guys, I just wanted to make a post about this since I don’t think it’s widely known and can be very dangerous.
When your body doesn’t have enough sugar to burn, it burns fat instead. This is obviously what we’re all hoping for and is the basis of the keto diet—burning body fat produces ketones. However, high levels of ketones in the blood leads to lowered blood pH, which upsets your body’s homeostasis. This is called ketoacidosis (literally, high blood acidity due to increased ketones). Most commonly, ketoacidosis is a complication of type 1 diabetes caused by excessively high blood sugar levels but no insulin to use the glucose. Non-diabetic ketoacidosis is a result of starvation and can happen whether or not your blood sugar is low at the time.
Fatigue/muscle weakness
Dizziness
Confusion
Loss of appetite
Excessive thirst
Excessive urination
Blurred vision
Dry mouth
Tingling in the hands, feet, and face
Fruity-smelling breath
Kussmaul’s breathing (rapid, deep breathing; picture below)
I know that a lot of the symptoms above are also symptoms of low (or high) blood sugar, which I’m sure a lot of us experience fairly often. The Kussmaul’s breathing pattern is a pretty sure sign of increased blood acidity and doesn’t happen with hypoglycemia—watch for that especially. This is your body trying to re-regulate your blood pH by expelling as much carbon dioxide as possible.
Dehydration, which can lead to kidney or other organ damage
Low potassium, which can lead to heart problems
Fluid in the lungs
Swelling in the brain
Seizures
Coma
Death
REST!!! Stop making your body burn through its fat stores or ketones will just keep building up in your blood!!
Eat something with sugar!!! Real sugar!! I know it’s scary but you need glucose to burn right now!!
Drink lots of water!!! You’re losing fluid, help your kidneys out!!
If you’re not improving, GO TO THE HOSPITAL!!!! You’ll most likely be treated with insulin and supplemental glucose. This will help kickstart the normal glucose-burning process.
I don’t want to scare you guys but this is serious. It’s fairly uncommon but don’t just think it can’t happen to you!! I was fasting yesterday and went into ketoacidosis while exercising. I ate some ice cream and laid down and was fine, but it took a toll on my body. Please be aware of this and please, please be safe.
