There’s power in stories, though. That’s all history is: The best tales. The ones that last. Might as well be mine.

DRAGON AGE: INQUISITION | REPLAY ➤ “I know how much you hated leaving Kirkwall.”
Appreciating his existence
i just love him so much 😩❤️
One of my lovely patreons requested Varric last month and im still super pleased with how he came out! <3
»Kirkwall’s coat of arms is a stylized knot work representation of a dragon. It evolved from a symbol of rebellion from the time when Kirkwall was a center for the Tevinter slave trade. It was an image that catalyzed the slaves to overthrow the ruling magisters. While the symbol has changed over time, its message has not: Kirkwall is a city unto itself, beholden to no one.«

Inquisition crew walking about
Varric- so you lost your eye in a fight?
Bull- yeah, protecting Krem. Step in between Krem and a guy with a flail. They were holding krem down when I walked in
Varric- sounds like a bunch of jerks but he had good aim
Bull- what makes you say that?
Varric- well he did get a perfect bull’s eye
Sera, now cackling - bullseye! They got bull’s eye
Bull, grumpy- yes, thanks for that
Varric- never saw it that way?
Sera rolling on the ground now - he can’t see cause he lost his eye
if, ah, you two have a moment?

Someone out there probably needs this in their feed.
Transcript:
Varric: So how do you like being described, as "Grizzled" or "Masculine"?
Blackwall: Do I really have a choice?
Varric: No. I was just being polite. Going with "Grizzled" then!

Dragon Age Inquisition
- You know, with Hawke we have never use to crawl around cliffs or jump of the mountains. Seriously! Not once! Always on the road, nice and mostly steady on the feet. And Inquisitor? It's like he is a mountain goat or something! Could he, at least for one day, not run onto anything?! Do you think it's Circle thing?(Varric)
- Yah, probably that, but I blame Dorian(Sera)
- Sparkle? Why's that?(Varric)
- He must do a really shitty job bedding Trevelyan if he can run around like that(Sera)
*scandalized noise*
*Dorian greatly disapprove*
Hawke: Due to personal reasons, I will be sinking to the bottom of the ocean in a large box.
Varric: Fenris said “I love you,” and you said “thanks,” didn’t you?
Hawke: The reasons are PERSONAL!
Barbie dai companions (inspired by @/raysoffrost bg3 posters x)
Ok, if they ever made Varric a romance option in Dragon Age Inquisition, I'd probably dump Cullen (for one game) to bang Varric.
Confession: Pushing together Varric's hairy tits and fucking them.
Me to Bioware: LET US ROMANCE SILVER FOX VARRIC YOU FUCKING COWARDS!!!!!
Nah cuz how dare varric STILL BE TALLER THAN ME EXCUSE THE FUCK
Here to ruin everyone's day with this because honestly I find it delightful and fits into the feral and desperate need I have for Thedas to be experiencing mega fauna and flora.
Update: Just to clarify, the only height that is canon is Bull's. I realize that the wording for some was not entirely clear enough on that. That's why I didn't tag this as lore.
Going from shortest to tallest we have this:
Varric - 5'3 (160.02cm) [Source]
Morrigan - 5'8 (172.72cm)*
Alistair - 6' (182.88cm) [Source]
Dorian - 6' - 6'2 (182.88-187.96cm)*
Solas - 6'5 (195.58cm) [Source]
The Iron Bull - 8' (243.84cm)*
Morrigan:
Morrigan's figure isn't listed anymore, but I grabbed a screenshot and with the help of a friend who has her statue, Morrigan is 5'8 sans heels.
Dorian:
When asked about Dorian's height, David Gaider specified that: "He is as tall as the character artists made him." [Source]
So, without giving bias, I put Dorian's height at a range due to the fact he is the ideal proportions at 8 heads tall which by modern industry standard means he's 6'2, but by earlier standards means he's 6'. Since we can't really tell which height the artist is going for, I put the range. But considering current standards I would say he's 6'2.
The Iron Bull:
In World of Thedas vol. 2 p. 255 they have the description that he is 8' tall.
Everyone in the Chargers is someone who can look at an eight-foot horned giant and say, 'Yes, I trust that man with my life.'
If you're wondering if that includes the horns? Up to you, its not specified. If you want to do sans horns, they math out to adding roughly 5" to his had according to his gaming heads model. Which would make him 7'5 (226.06cm).
