Lungs aching, pulse thudding, I could hardly manage more than shallow breaths. No matter how diligently I kept on top of it, how desperately I tried to hold it in, it was going to burst from my chest, darkness splayed out for the world to see.

“What? Did you even know before I said that??”

“Of course, we’ve been together for three years. I was gonna ask if you were ok.”

“Why would you ask that?”

“Dude, you forgot your sunscreen. You look like you are about to die.”

“Just…just tell me truth, please.”

“I don’t think you want to hear it.”

“You don’t have to keep saving people just to prove you have a right to exist,” they said quietly.

“Well.” They floundered, ears ringing. How could someone come out and say things like that? “Not just.” They tried to joke.

Imagine your OTP #8

Person A is constantly moving around the country, looking for a job around being a maid/butler. They’ve tried everywhere, but no one is accepting, and right before they give up hope, guy get an email saying a job has opened up at a manor. Details describe that they’re a family of three, parents and the next of kin, Person B, who is expected to take over the family business when their parents are too old.

Person A shows up to the house, and is instantly assigned to help Person B with a date with Person C, another rich child taking the throne soon, which is in a week, and is very important. Person A and B almost instantly click together, becoming best friends quickly. When driving over to Person C’s house on the last day, Person B explains that they really don’t want to marry Person C, but rather want to live in just a normal home.

After the date, Person B looked miserable. Person A decided to take Person B to their favorite place in the area considering they’ve been literally everywhere. Person A and B end up having long conversations about their future, when Person B promises that no matter what happens, Person A will always be on their side. Through thick and thin, they would always be together, and no one could step between them. Person A just kind of giggles, accepting the fact that they’re just a maid/butler to Person B. Before Person A can say anything else, they’re kissed by Person B. While Person A knows they shouldn’t be okay with it, they been in love with Person B since they met a week ago.

For multiple years, Person B would say they’re going on a date with Person C, when they really were just slipping away with Person A. One day, Person B gets into a large fight with their parents, and locks themselves in their room. Person A tries to help but just get yelled at. Person A then leaves the home back to where they would be with Person B. Finally, Person B shows up and apologizes for yelling, and drags Person A back to the house. Person B stand in front of their parents, their parents expecting an apology, and instead, Person B proposed to Person A, and ends up instantly runs away from home afterwards to elope with Person A.

Melting With You

She’d left her shoes in the car, pulled his jacket over her head like a tarp, and clutched her bag to her chest, and on the count of three, they’d made a run for it — but even the twenty yards from the parking area to the bungalow porch was enough, very likely, to ruin the skirt of her suit.

Dammit — why do I ever bother to buy dry-clean only? She thinks, trying to finger-comb her damp, rain-blown hair back into place and wishing she’d followed the train of thought that had them still in the car, steaming up the windows, making streaky handprints on the glass as they …

He’s next to her, shaking out his soaked hair like the world’s largest puppy. He sees her irritated expression and smiles that smile — the placating one that somehow manages to hint at things he won’t say, for instance that he wouldn’t have minded the staying-in-the-car scenario either.
