Big sister advice school addition 📖🖋️📚

Big Sister Advice School Addition 📖🖋️📚

Here is the next installment of my big sister advice for academics.

School is easy if you just do the work you should know everything for the test.

There is no reason (except for literally terrible teaching) that you wouldn’t know the concepts for the test unless you didn’t do all the work assigned to you.

Obviously this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t study or practice the skills but if you have no clue what could be on the test you didn’t do all the work.

But if you are struggling in the class there is no longer an optional assignment or an extra credit opportunity you aren’t going to do. Always do extra credit anyway because 102% before the final means you can relax for finals week. Plus the teacher will take note and you could probably get a letter of recommendation from them.

Having a predetermined homework time is the best thing you can do

No matter what do homework at that time. If you finished all the homework for the week do next weeks.

Mine were at 7am-9am (I work best first thing)on Monday and Friday and I had to work the entire time so I basically never had to work outside of those times except for studying and reading.

It only benefits you too be ahead.

If you have the ability (some courses are not laid out that way) to get ahead in work you should. Especially if you are given a list of all the assignments before hand.

It gives you the ability to take days off and knowing what the lecture is going to be on before you head in will help if you have a hard time focusing.

Even if it is just skimming the reading right before class it’ll help.

You are allowed to be disappointed in grades (even if they are still good grades)

This past term was the first term in college where I didn’t get a 4.0. I got an A- in chem and I literally was 5points away from an A. (Honestly a B would’ve been less devastating and I’m not being dramatic)

Even tho my gpa is perfectly fine I am allowed to be frustrated with myself because I know that that 5 points was easily attainable I just got lazy towards the end.

Don’t let people tell you you can’t be upset over a slightly low grade. But also don’t beat yourself up about it if you truly tried your hardest and did all you can do. There is a difference between a B where you worked for hours on end did all the assignments but the class is that difficult and a A- in an easy class but you allowed yourself to slack off. (Self call out lol)

But obviously don’t push this standard on other people cuz that’s rude. Even if you wouldn’t be happy with a B if your friend is celebrate celebrate with them. Don’t be a bitch

Be strategic in what classes you skip.

I am not going to be all high and mighty and say I never skip classes or try and tell you to go to every lecture no matter what. I barely showed up to my math class this term. But I still got an A because the class was assignment based and in a subject I can do in my sleep. I did all the homework and showed up for the tests and did great but if you can’t do that with a class don’t act like you can. Pick and choose your battles.

Never skip a class you struggle in!!!!!!

You never know when a teacher is going to say something that makes everything make sense. Or give you the best life hack ever.

Getting all your homework done before the weekend means you can have a social life.

If you want to have a good life/school balance you have to schedule when you complete things.

School should always come first so if you want to party that weekend you better finish everything by Friday.

Also not really school related but if you are gonna be a party girl in college (me too me too) don’t party everyday of the weekend!!!!!

It’s seriously unhealthy to consume alcohol like that consistently and guess what you can get burned out from too much partying just like you can get burned out from too much work. Even hot girls can be functional alcoholics and that’s not cute.

If you are going to make it an every weekend thing make sure it’s only one night. So you still have one day to recover from the party and one day to be productive!!! Obviously there are going to be some weekends (halloweekend) where people go out multiple days in a row and to that I say know your limits and be safe! Please please freshman don’t make halloweekend be the first time you drink!!!!

That’s all I have for school themed advice! Hope you all have great day!

Love you all Xoxo💋

Random Beauty Big Sister Advice 💐💋🪩

Random Beauty Big Sister Advice 💐💋🪩

Here are my random big sister beauty advice! Enjoy!!!

Fix your posture

Some of you did not get pinched in the shoulder blades when you were slouching growing up and it shows

Every time you sit or stand up take the time to roll your shoulders back. Just do it as a little reminder everyday (multiple times) and your posture will improve.

If you can’t hold it without it becoming uncomfortable or tiring you need to do some core workout (a lot of inner core specifically) because that means you muscles aren’t strong enough to keep your spine strong. Which also means you can be more susceptible to injuries.

As much as you hate it healthy is 100x prettier than unhealthy.

Almost all the beauty standards are based on your health.

Proper diet and exercise will make your skin glow and your hair shiny.

Under eating or eating junk shows on your face and hair.

Muscles are sexy

I swear to you there is no way for you to become “bulky” by picking up weights.

You need to strengthen train for that toned look.

In order for your muscles to get really bulky you have to be in a pretty heavy calorie surplus be hitting a very high protein level. You also have to have the gene to build bulky muscles and the bone structure which is not as common in women. You can’t really do it on accident.

Even women who can put on muscles really fast are not bulky they are built. It’s giving she hulk and it’s hot.

To look put together you have to do the 2/3rds rule.

Only one part of your outfit can you neglect. Either your hair, makeup, or outfit. But it should never be your hair.

Learn to do really quick easy hairstyles and you will never have bad hair. I am almost always in Dutch braids because they are simple and I can do them quickly.

Also adding jewelry always gives your outfit more flare.

Learn how to alter clothes always have cute clothes.

You can find really simple tutorials to turn that body tank top into a fitted tank so easily.

Usually you just need a needle thread and scissors but if you have a machine you can do so much.

Do your nails

If you don’t like color or fake nails make sure they are always filled and clean.

Nails can be extremely cheap or extremely expensive you just gotta find what works for you.

Get a good nail oil as well for extra care.

Your body is not the problem you just don’t know how to dress and compliment her.

Stop looking at girls whose body is nothing like yours for outfit inspo.

Depending on your proportions things can look vastly different on different people.

Figure out your body type and shopping gets so much easier.

That’s all for now I might continue this series slowly but I just ended my spring break and classes have started so if I disappear don’t worry I’m just being an academic weapon.

2025 : #11 - 6% Mentality : why u are holding urself back ?

2025 : #11 - 6% Mentality : Why U Are Holding Urself Back ?
2025 : #11 - 6% Mentality : Why U Are Holding Urself Back ?

✒️..It’s January . You’re all fired up about your New Year’s resolutions, right? “This is my year,” u say. “I’ll lose the weight, make the money, start the business, crush my goals.” But BFR : By the time February rolls around, you’re back to your old habits. Your gym membership is collecting dust, that diet is long gone, and that academic cb idea is still just a thought in your head. You’ve been here before iiikr

🏷️[ inspiration: dr.Michelle Robbins refers to her study of 1,000 people, showing that 94% gave up on their resolutions by February but how the 6% managed to succeed ?]

So 94% of people will abandon their goals before they even get started. Let me repeat that 94%. The odds are stacked against you, but there’s a small group—just 6%—who will do the work, face the grind, and get what they want. What separates them from the rest? They know the truth, and they do it even when they don’t feel like it.

Let me give u truth. If you want to be part of the 6%, you need to change how you think, act, and approach your goals. u need to stop being weak.

ONE take charge or shut up.

Your brain is not your friend. It’s a coward. Your brain wants comfort, safety, and the easy way out. Every time you try to do something hard—like losing weight, hitting the gym, or getting out of debt—your brain will whisper, “You deserve a break. Skip the gym. You’ll start tomorrow. One donut won’t hurt.”The reality is that tomorrow never comes. And if you keep listening to your brain, you'll never see any change. The 6%? They don’t listen to their excuses. They take charge. They override their feelings. They don’t give a damn about comfort or instant gratification—they’re thinking about where they want to be a year from now.

You need to make a choice: Are you going to let your feelings control you? Or are you going to start controlling your feelings? Take charge. You don’t want it bad enough if you keep letting your brain win.

Two get specific or quit.

Enough with the vague promises. “I’ll work out more.” “I’ll eat healthier.” Bullshit. That’s not a goal—that’s a wish. You might as well wish on a star and hope things magically change. The 6% know that vague goals don’t work. They get specific. Instead of saying, “I’ll lose weight,” they say, “I’ll eat 1,800 calories a day and hit the gym for 30 minutes every morning at 7 AM.” Instead of saying, “I want to be a high achiever,” they say, “I’ll study 2h and rest for 30 min until I get it” ..Your brain loves specifics. It’s easy to stay motivated when you know exactly what to do. But when you’re vague, you have no idea where you’re going, and no one gets anywhere with no direction.

You need to stop with the “I’ll try” and start with “I will.” If you can’t commit to specifics, then stop whining about why things aren’t working. You get what you decide to get, not what you wish for.

Three focus on the 10

You’re busy. I get it. WE ARE IN A SOCIETY WHERE EVERYONE IS BUSY..You’ve got a million things on your to-do list. But guess what? Most of that stuff doesn’t matter. You’re wasting time on things that don’t move the needle. “Check emails. Scroll Instagram. Clean your room.” Sure, they make you feel productive, but they don’t move you closer to your goals. You need to stop being busy and start being effective. The 6% know how to focus. They don’t waste time on trivial shit. They get to work on the 10s—the things that actually matter. If your goal is to get in shape, that means working out. It doesn’t mean cleaning your kitchen or sending one more email. If your goal is for example become an academic weapon is not watching how to study for exam in the last night ..

Get real with yourself pookie Stop pretending you’re busy. Look at your list. What’s the ONE thing that moves you closer to your goal? Do that first. The rest? It can wait. If it’s not a 10, don’t waste your time on it.

Forth small steps big results.

Let’s not sugarcoat this: If you want to succeed, you have to make sacrifices. There’s no shortcut. But the thing most people don’t get that You don’t need to change everything at once. You don’t need to completely overhaul your life. Start small.Take one step at a time. If you’re trying to lose weight, drink one glass of water before every meal. That’s it. But don’t stop there. Once that becomes easy, add something else: Maybe you walk 10 minutes every day. Or swap out soda for water.

The 6% get it: Small actions snowball. They build momentum. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to show up consistently.

The Challenge: 30 Days of Realness.

Pick one goal. ONE. And commit to it for the next 30 days. No excuses. Write it down. Be specific. Take charge. Get rid of all the distractions and focus on what matters. Every single day, make progress—even if it’s just a little. But if you’re not serious about this, don’t bother. If you’re not willing to do what it takes—if you’re too busy making excuses—then stop pretending you want to change. The 6% don’t have time for excuses. They do the work, even when it’s hard, even when they don’t feel like it.believe in urself and be disciplined !!

So, get off your ass, stop whining, and start doing. Because if you keep playing the same game, you’re going to keep getting the same results. But if you’re ready to be part of the 6%? You better bring your A-game. And you better be real with yourself.

april’s vibe: hyperfixation as a lifestyle choice

okay, so. i’ve decided april is the month i weaponize my obsessive tendencies. we’re structuring this like a villain origin story meets a Pinterest vision board. no chill, just results. here’s the plan:

DAILY NON-NEGOTIABLES (because autopilot is for airplanes)

-

Mornings: Alarm goes off at 6:30 AM. no snooze, no TikTok rabbit holes. i splash cold water on my face like i’m in a montage. breakfast is ✨liquid✨—black tea, hibiscus, whatever. fasting till 3 PM because hunger is just capitalism’s way of distracting me.

-Workouts: Leg day? Arm day? Every day Squats, lunges, push-ups, planks—yes, even the thigh gap sculpt stuff. ugh. cardio is me speedwalking away from my own intrusive thoughts.

-Afternoons: Hyperfocus mode. coding lessons, Neocities updates (my 2003-core html shrine), job applications (two a day, minimum), and drawing my OCs like they’re my emotional support imaginary friends.

-Evenings: Pretend i’m a mysterious artist. video diaries no one will ever see. practicing model poses in the mirror like i’m about to walk NYFW. reading UX/UI textbooks in Italian? Sure. Phone off by 9 PM to avoid doomscrolling into the abyss.

WEEKLY MISSIONS(to avoid becoming a goblin)

-

Week 1: Reset. Clean my room, delete 1,000 screenshots, make a moodboard that’s 70% anime OCs and 30% “hire me” energy.

- Week 2: Delulu escalation. Apply to jobs while listening to “I Am the Best” by 2NE1. Code a webpage that’s just a PNG of a frog. Detox Sunday: no internet, just me and my sketchbook.

- Week 3: Break the comfort zone. Post a cringe video diary. Walk like i’m in Black Swan but make it fashion.

- Week 4: Final boss mode. Five job apps in a day. Code a feature that’s definitely overkill. Compare progress pics and pretend i don’t scream internally.

WHY? Because by May, i want to look in the mirror and see someone who’s 10% hotter, 50% more employable, and 100% more feral about their dreams. The kind of glow-up that makes people side-eye me in the grocery store. Skinny toned legend who. Me. Exactly.

cool things i've been up to!

i've been sewing a lot!

so far, I've made, a tote bag (so, so cute, but I gotta wash it so the marking chalk washes off) and I'm currently working on a makeup pouch! I want to make cute summer tops and scandi shorts and pants, basically my whole wardrobe!

i started my sourdough starter

literally this sunday but, at first she died :( because I forgot I live in tropical weather and fed her as if I was in England or something

BUT then I found a different guide and I'm following it and she's thriving, I can't wait to make foccaccia!

i'm rewatching friends

honestly I love it but also rewatching i'm like guys, that is unhealthy lol, such a funny show but i can see it was the 90s (the fits are on point tho)

i'm daydreaming about my future home

i want a white house, with blue shutters...

no just kidding, but I do want a classical house in the countryside with a big garden and to have my own homestead with chickens and cats and carrots and a ton of natural light from the windows and a crafting studio for me

I'm trad-curious like, I want that nature connected life, not the 1950's mindset crap

things I wanna do!

i want to start a garden!

i still don't really know how my living situation will be because of my first year of college yet, but as soon as I do, I want to start a little vegetable garden, i want to hone my homesteading skills

i want to learn to knit

I spent over $60 on YARN, and I haven't used it! tbh it's cause the sound of yarn like existing makes my sensory issues go die but aaaaa I wanna make sweaters, honestly w my headphones on it should be fine but, I just love sewing rn!

i want to exercise again

guys the senior slump is real, like I'm blogging in school rn, and it's like I go to school and since i don't work nor rest I get home drained and feeling unaccomplished :( honestly i want to get my life together but school is such a roadblock! I can't wait for college to have calculus and physics and chem all day long, so that I can come home to my books and my sewing and my gym yk? anyways, I have access to the gym on my street now, and since summer is back, we can use the a.c, so, it's an easy way to get back in it

i want to take better care of my body

in disordered eating recovery, i think that exercise and nutrition wise (at least my relationship w both), i've got it covered, but i've been biting my nails again, and i don't like it, but i can't seem to stop, i just gotta break the inertia of it, if i get up and do my nails, i wont bite them

i think that's it, i lololoooove yapping, so expect these kinds of posts from me!

xoxo,

April Challenge: Self Boundary Setting

April Challenge: Self Boundary Setting
April Challenge: Self Boundary Setting
April Challenge: Self Boundary Setting

I can't believe it's April already! So for this month I'm going to work on making my life more structured, mostly because I've been so relaxed with myself this past month. I read The Secret History, became obsessed, and started backsliding into really unhelpful behaviour patterns (and of course my therapist is on holiday, so I can't talk about it with her). I've given myself March to wallow in it, but now it's time to be a big kid and get over myself.

1. Bedtime

For the past few months, I've been going to sleep literally whenever, but my wake up times have been chaotic. In an attempt to wrangle that into some semblance of consistency, I will be making my bedtime midnight. No exceptions. I've also done this thing a lot where I lie down, thinking I'd get ready for bed later, and then immediately fall asleep. No more of that. I'm going to avoid this by not allowing myself to lie down until after I'm ready for bed.

2. Intuitive eating

One of the bigger things that bothered me last month was that, somehow, reading that book triggered my disordered eating patterns. This month I'm going to have to set more goals with eating enough, even though I'm in that frustrating part of the cycle where I don't really want to. So here's the plan: I'm going to make a weekly meal plan focussing on getting enough protein and fibre, and then I'll do it, because I told myself I would.

3. Self study

I've got a pretty tough thing going on, what with trying to learn 3 languages and an instrument while studying. Giving enough time to each thing so I can actually progress means I'll have to be focussed for at least 1 hr 45 min a day, not including the two hours every other day I've set aside for my actual uni work. Maybe I'll try a rotation of languages instead (that will cut the self study time down to 45 min), especially when my assignments are closer to due. I'm not sure. Anyway, I'll try the first option to start with.

4. Exercise

I've been in an energy crash all of March, so I haven't exercised this whole time. I need to get back into it now. I've wanted to take fencing classes since I was 14, but was always too sick to... until now. So to accommodate for the fact that the class is 2 hours long, I'll bookend it with rest days, and the rest of the week do half an hour of whatever I feel like. Until the next semester of the fencing class starts (when I'll join), I'll replace it with stretches designed to help with fencing.

an angels guide: romanticising spring °❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

hi angels! it’s finally here… SPRING!! my most favourite season, the suns slowly emerging out the sky, blossoms forming and the days are feeling slowly but surely longer. winter always sticks around just that bit tooooo long for me so to keep my mood and energy up here’s a little guide to romanticising spring now that it’s finally arrived!

An Angels Guide: Romanticising Spring °❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
An Angels Guide: Romanticising Spring °❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

wear colours. fill your wardrobe with colours, wear a floral pattern or a brightly coloured pair of socks, be the colour that’s slowly beginning to emerge back into the world.

make a spring playlist and listen to it every morning while you get ready for the day.

try out a lighter, spring like perfume. my favourite at the moment is a beautiful vanilla scent.

eat fresh fruits and vegetables. as more come back into season, fill your plate with colour and abundance. feed your soul, stomach and eyes!

spend time outdoors every day. make it a non negotiable for yourself that you spend time outside, even if it’s only a few minutes, get sun and fresh air on your skin.

make a pinterest board full of outfits, activities, food and anything that encapsulates spring for you.

go through your belongings and donate any you don’t need to charity, spread some kindness and give back to your community.

host a picnic with friends, family or yourself! make lavender lemonade or another floral drink, bake a cake (however messy it turns out) and find a beautiful spot.

read poetry that reminds you of spring, i love mary oliver for this time of year!

find beautiful leaves and petals and press them dry to have as keepsakes.

spend too long making an elaborate drink for yourself. my spring favourite has to be an iced raspberry matcha - tart and pretty.

find a softer, spring makeup routine. think lots of blush and pale eyeshadows for a delicate, floral look.

make your own herbal teas - my favourite recipe is 1tsp each of chamomile, jasmine, dandelion root and peppermint!

wake up to watch the sunrise, open your windows wide, breathe in the cool morning air and calm your mind and body with some light yoga or meditation. let yourself be in the moment.

try some spring journal prompts (will have a post on this coming soon) in a cute journal.

switch oatmeal bowls out for yogurt bowls (my current obsession).

surround yourself with spring media, watch spring films and listen to spring music and read spring books.

go on a cute solo date - i love going to a cafe to read but you could do so many things, go pottery painting or on a walk or to the cinema!

have a deep and thorough spring clean, clear out your space and prepare for a new season.

make a spring bucket list (would be happy to share mine if you’re interested!).
